Carlton George Hotel - غلاسغو

Stayed in this hotel as we were attending a concert and needed to get 6am train back home to be in time for work. Wished we could have stayed longer to benefit from the comfort of the hotel. Room was clean and comfortable but we were unfortunately not able to benefit from the complimentary mini bar. Would definitely stay here again.

Located right next to all transportation, including hop-on hop-off bus. Friendly/helpful staff. Small lobby, but attractive. Good value. Enjoyed our stay and recommend this hotel.

Located right in the centre of all the shops and just minutes from fantastic restaurants. You literally cannot get any closer to the hub of Glasgow City! The upgrade to Executive was well worth it for the inclusive mini bar from which we poured ourselves whisky & spirits from crystal decanters after a long day shopping! We were spoilt in the VIP lounge with wine, whiskey and nibbles by the fire place, and again for espressos for breakfast. The staff were friendly and it was just a pleasant, no hassle stay. The foyer was also very well decorated for Christmas which made the entire experience very pleasant! Only one down fall was our room looked at an office building, but we didn't pay the extra for the room with the view.

Excellent staff ,comfortable rooms and a decent breakfast makes ths hotel ideal for the on foot city traveller, particularly if you can benefit from a discount rate as we did.oops...,nearly forgot,the complimentary booze also went down well...a really well stocked fridge and extra whisky,gin and sherry decanters to help yourself !

Loved this hotel & willie using again. Could not be in a more perfect location for the stations, shops, restaurants etc. Staff were all very helpful & friendly & roomvery clean & comfortable.

Great hotel, booked an executive room, which was lovely. Bit disappointed with 'extras'. Mini Bar not very well stocked.

The best thing about this hotel was its location. It was great and had great access to the Underground. The room was very pleasant and was updated, but still maintained the character of the building. We enjoyed our stay there very much.

Lovely room with tea/coffee facilities and free minibar. Only have breakfast if you eat a lot as it is very expensive for what is on offer - no fresh fruit, no fish.

The hotel is nearby both train and bus stations and is by the pedestrian shopping mall and many restaraunts. It was clean, and the staff was very helpful. We enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it

this was our second stint at the carlton george-for very good reasons.............this tiny boutique hotel is ideally situated near queen st station and the buchannan st precinct.............the staff are stellar-notably paul who was gracious and accommodating.......open bar in room lovely touch............windows restaurant on top of hotel provides best view of glasgow and wonderful meals.........would highly recommend this hotel....only hotel in glasgow will stay in......worth every penny and more...................five stars

I booked a room at the Carlton George a few days before departing for Glasgow: what a treat! Took the airport shuttle to George Square and walked right over to the hotel. Because I arrived around 11 AM my room wasn't ready, but they wisked away my luggage and parked me in the lounge with a pot of tea in front of a gas fire... heaven! Spent the day wandering the sites (you will be near all the pedestrian shopping streets) and arrive back to a lovely deluxe room with king-size bed and full bath. The room was well worth the cost and I will stay there on my next trip for sure!

Good front desk service that went a bit further than average desk services.

Outstanding location, within walking distance to most of the sights. The hotel offered everything I needed, the room was quiet, and I would definitely stay there again.

good hotel,staff good,room good,the free drinks in the and bar were a very good touch .hotel very central and a must be for return visit .

The hotel gives you a complimentary mini bar and decanters of gin, sherry and whiskey! Our decanters were empty when we arrived and it took notifying them twice and several hours before they were filled. Great location - close to the train stations and the centre of town. staff were friendly and helpful. Would stay again

An excellent hotel in the city centre with a very good deal via hotel.com. The service was very polite and helpful. The room very comfortable and clean. We were completely amazed to be told that with the rate that we got it included a free mini bar! Not only that but there were decanters of whisky, gin and sherry in the room all complimentary with the room. I have NEVER seen that before! I would happily recommend this hotel.

Poorly stocked minibar, door off hinges of fridge. Spilled drink from previous guest not cleaned up, only one wine glass, no bottle opener. Great receptionist. Good meal in restaurant Great location Value for money perhaps not

The staff is warm, welcoming and very helpful. The rooms are not large (typically older UK) but beautifully decorated, very comfortable, well maintained and immaculate - as is the entire hotel. All the ammenities anyone could ask for are available in the rooms and/or from staff. Windows (the restaurant) is one of the best and definately has the best views in the city. Food is good, location is fantastic. The breakfast buffet(included in room rate) is fabulous and their dinner menu is terrific. Excellent food and staff complete the dining experience! With one of the best shopping "malls" less than a block away, anything you may want or need is very handy. Tour busses, trains and other transportation is all as close as a block or two. We stayed in several hotels during our 2 weeks in Scotland and we agree that this hotel was our favorite of them all - including some very high-end and big chains. We travel a lot and highly recommend it!

Free minibar was a nice touch although virtually empty - room was a bit dark but was inward facing so others might be better

gr eat location walking distance to shops and restaurants.free mini bar totally unheard of.ac not the best and rooms need more light.staff helpful but skip breakfast far too expensive and not particulary good. overall would definately recommend this hotel.

The Carlton George Hotel is 1 block from George Square in downtown Glasgow. We flew into Glasgow airport and took the Glasgow Flyer (express bus service from the airport to downtown) to the city center. The bus driver dropped us off right at the hotel. Leaving Glasgow, we only had to walk 1 block to catch the Glasgow Flyer back to the airport. The rooms are small by American standards, but adequate for 2 if your stay is short. The mini-bar is free and there is a business center on the 7th floor with an unlimited supply of more free booze--and--a cappuccino machine.

This hotel was wonderful. The location is ideal for visiting many of the "must sees" you would find in popular travel guide books and are within walking distance. There is a pub next door and a cafe around the corner. The train station is also around the corner. There is ample parking at 2 off-site locations within a few blocks of the hotel. The size of the standard room was as expected and nicely decorated. The mini-bar is free as are decanters of sherry, gin and scotch. The bathroom was decent size with a wonderful towel warmer and very large tub. There is a trouser press, hairdryer and pair of slippers for 2 guests. Our room faced the courtyard and was therefore very quiet. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance and the front desk was more than happy to make a recommendation. They even provided us with a map and detailed route. I highly recommend this hotel for comfort, convenience and location. While it is on the pricier side for budget -minded people, the location and hospitatily of this hotel makes up for that.

Really handy for Queen street station and less than 5 mins walk from Central station. Room was decent size and A/C very welcome in recent warm spell. Free mini bar in room.

Good central location. Easy walk to all the sights. Parking is in a garage that's about a 10 min walk from the hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Helped us map out our search for an old family cemetary. The room was good sized, clean, quiet, well decorated. Who knew there's such a thing as tartan shower tiles? We had an excellent dinner in the top floor restaurant; fresh seafood beautifully prepared. And an excellent Scottish breakfast the next morning.

These people do everything possible to make your stay comfortable! The staff is pleasant, the rooms are gorgeous, and the location of the hotel is ideal. My daughter dropped her cell phone down the elevator shaft and 10 minutes later it was delivered to our room. They even secured some of our luggage while we were in Edinburgh for several days, before our return to the Carleton George. If you are going to Glasgow, stay here. I look forward to going back. You just need to know that breakfast is not included in the price when you book through hotels.com.

I booked this room only for my son and his girlfriend to celebrate his 21st.. When the hotel became aware it was his 21st. they upgraged him to club and made it B&B, Excellent service throughout.

Stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. All the staff are friendly and helpful, especially Sylvia on reception. Lovely room on 4th floor with a free mini bar! Breakfast was also very good in Windows restaurant which overlooks Glasgow's rooftops, excellent location, next door is Waxy O'Connors pub/restaurant which was good as well.

As soon as you walk into the lobby of the Carlton George Hotel its as if you stepped back in time. The lobby is is panneled in rick oak panalling with a fireplace. The rooms are equipped with fine furniture and a luxuriaous queen size bed. The room is a bit crampped due to all the funiture but it exuded luxury. Service is impecable and the cut crystal decanter (with complimentary Single Malt Scotch,Gin & Sherry)and matching glasses, Thick bathrobes and slippers were a surprizing benefit.

The Staff was the most accommodating staff I have ever encountered. The room was wonderful with complementary mini bar. The Hotel was beautiful and convenient location to all shopping.

I have stayed in many scottish hotels but this hotel beats them all by far! Not only were the staff very genuine, helpful, kind and pleasant , but the rooms were very salubrious and almost regal in their decor. The most enjoyable part of our stay was the free minibar. Yes I said FREE! I have never known this before, but believe me, I was well impressed! And what surprised me even more was that this free minibar was restocked on our 2nd day there. Now I don't mean to imply by this, that my husband and I are raging alcoholics, but it is nice to relax in your room with a night cap and this we could do quite happily. May I also congratulate the chef at the Windows restaurant on the top floor of the hotel for the mouthwatering meals he prepared. They were wonderful and not particularly expensive to say this was a 4* hotel.I would just to give credit wehre credit is due.To the staff at the Carlton George Hotel, keep up the good work and thankyou for a lovely weekend!

great location near the train station and shoping district. Comfortable room and the complimentary mini bar was a plus.

From arrival to departure, this hotel had good price-quality relation. Efficient check in and check out, free internet and usage of executive floor for the standard rate and also complimentary drinks in the room, including beers and whiskey. I will certainly go there again on my next trip to Glasgow. Right in middle of the Center, it was good and i enjoyed the stay.

Sentralt beliggende hotell med spaseravstand til togstasjonene. Ligger kloss inntil gågate og nært stort kjøpesenter. Litt dyr frokost på hotellet, og denne kunne gjerne vært inkludert med rommet som ikke er spesielt billig. Kunne trengt litt enkel oppussing, og rommene er litt overmøblert. Likevel et svært hyggelig hotell hvor det var fri bruk av minibar.
