Best Location at this price, if going again would prefer to stay here at least a day only for shopping as every thing is just a walk away.

If you are just looking for a place to crash in the heart of it all inChicago, this will work. It's a no frills bed. And the price is right. but if you are looking for knowledgeable service, modern decor and fixtures or other services, choose one of the many other neighborhoodtels hotels.

The location is perfect. One block East of Michigan Ave and near many little pubs, restaurants and of course Starbucks. The beds, carpet and bathroom were clean. Not a lot of attention to fancy extras but I chose the hotel because it was 'ALOT' per night cheaper than the nicer hotel chain across the street. There were a few things that were "tired" like the worn paint at the base of the bathroom door. If you want nice bed scarfs, shampoos and soaps, and granite countertops then stay across the street. If you just need a reasonable place to sleep then stay here. Bonus, there was a frig and microwave in the room.

This hotel has a very good location. The staff is competent and concerned, however the cleaning standard of the room is not good. The carpet is old and dusty. I

Great location! It is in the perfect location for shopping and there were also lots of great food/bar choices within walking distance. Also a very short cab ride (we walked there, cabbed back) to 3 clubs. The staff was very friendly and helpful and parking was cheap for Chicago. On the negative side, the room was tiny. Thankfully it was just two of us, but if we would have had 4 people (two to a bed) it would have been really crowded. Very small bathroom and there was garbage in the wastebasket. Other then that though the room was clean. No full length mirror in the room. The elevator was very slow. I would stay there again.

Super nice. Great bed and perfect location.comfortable and safe. U got what u need for travel several days in Chicago. Then,that's enough.

I had a great stay at this hotel. I was in town for my bachelor party and just needed a place for me and some friends to crash and the room was plenty big and friendly staff up front. Nice location, great price.

The Hotel and location was good but we had to pay a lot for parking... Also, we had booked for Magneficent mile view but the view we got from our room as just a 2-3 feet of Michigan ave... which was wrong thing...

The only very negative thing I have to say is that the cleaning staff left my door completely open one afternoon after cleaning it. The door was caught on the jam and did not shut properly...all of my belongings were at risk for the entire day while I was out. Other than this occurence, the hotel was in a great location close to downtown and River North. Very accessible and reasonably priced for the location.

Spend a couple more dollars.... Tiny room, NO lobby. I had to dodge the guy pushing the giant trash bin out the "lobby" and through the front entrance. On night two, the key cards stopped working. 90 minutes and 5 or 6 trips up and down the slooooow elevator later we got into the room. Never again.

We got in late and tired. The room they gave us had an nonworking t.v. They changed us to another room and the key did not work. Not what you want when you are tired. They did nothing to make up for it, but say sorry.

Its right place if u need to stay in Chicago downtown at a very reasonable rate

We were very satisfied with the Red Roof Inn. It was straightforward, no surprises. And the room was really nice.

Location and rates were excellent. Housekeeping did not come to the room but 1 time in 4 days. Had to pick-up towels, soap, coffee, cups from the office for each day. Ice and drinks not easy to access. One trash container for the bath none anywhere else in the room.

Will stay here again. General Manager went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Location is great, right in the heart of everything.

This hotel is old dirty and disgusting !!! We were given a room with luggage in it and then we were treated rudely due to their error!!! NO AIR CONDITION ! It was in the 80s and the room remained over 90 degrees all night !!! Windows are bolted shut, couldn't even vent! Bathroom was filthy, mold in corners and tub, and room is so tiny you had to scoot sideways at foot of the bed! Pick somewhere else! A hostel would be better !!!

Crew was good...Michael at the front desk was really helpful! Room was pretty clean, but a tich more time with the vacuum would have been nice. Beds were super comfortable. Location was fantastic!! You can't get better than this location.

good location, safe, was used as hub for city pass 3 day spring break trip. convenient to buses for transportation. room was ok, quiet, staff friendly

Small rooms but great location. This is near hospital so ambulance noise is common. Do not recommend a corner window for that reason. Hotel is 2 star at best but a good cheap venue for access to Michigan Avenue sites. It could be cleaner but it's not bug infested or unkempt, just not tidy. Attention to details separate higher priced rooms. TV updated HD Flats, bathrooms very small. Valet was nice and they worked hard to get your car quickly.

Grrat location to get to everything downtown

Great location. Room was kinda small but we had 2 adults and 3 kids so I expected that. Staff was friendly and valet was fast and convienent. I would definitly stay there again.

I would not recommend this hotel to others unless you absolutely cant afford to stay somewhere with a better rating. The convenience of the location was great and the service was good too, but the overall cleanliness of the room, hallway, and lobby was less than average. Noise from people in the hallway partying all night was awful. Room was delux double with Refrigerator and microwave. Neither were in the room when we arrived but after call to desk were brought up right away. Overall the place needs a makeover. If you are debating saving a hundred dollars on a more expensive room i would tell you to do it dont even think about it.

The room hadn't been vacuumed. We found old food and socks under the bed. The bathroom smelled and when you shut the door, you were locked in and had to be rescued. The hallways smelled. The TV was broken. The room was TINY. The location was great but definitely not worth the cheap price.

The service was very spotty room wasnt cleaned front desk would answer but would not communicate things to other hotel staff not to mention I was almost charged twice due to another guest having my same first name the air conditioning was not in service "due to unexpected hear in March" good location and price but service not up to par !!!

For the price it was worth the stay.

Desk service was excellent in spite of several arrivals; room was clean and recently redecorated; bathroom was missing shampoo and the toilet was broken. The TV seems new but the sound was so blurred that I missed a lot of the dialogue of my $18 movie. The best part of the stay was the value. I am returning next week.

I booked this room for my son, so that he could get into Chicago and have a great night sleep before his graduate school interview. He found the place not-a-keeper. he was escorted to the room to check it out and told there was no air conditioning and the windows did not open. It was 84 degrees in there and not even a fan in the bathroom. He had no choice but to stay...no solutions were offered to help with the distress. I am upset that these low end motels are even a choice. What a bummer for him to get the opportunity to go to Chicago, excited for his interview and starting grad school and then the gift of a horrible place to stay.

Red roof Inn Chicago have a great location about a mile north from the Loop (downtown) and was also very affordable so if you are looking budget hotel with a good location this may be your choice. However the heating device made absolutely horrible sound and it was hard to sleep so you may want to avoid this place in winter time if you are a light sleeper (or take earplugs). Also the traffic noise can be quite loud if you're sleeping in bottom floors. Staff was ok and didn't have any complaining to do about the cleanliness.

I had to book a hotel for business trip and found this online- close to everything I needed to get to. It reminds me of a little European pensione. It's small but friendly, parking a steal and the floor and room I stayed in were freshly painted.

It was my first time at this hotel,i enjoyed my stay,very good customer service,good location,complementary free internet acces,clean rooms. I will keep this hotel posted for my next trip to Chicago.

We stayed at the Red Roof Inn, one block from Michigan Avenue between March 14-March 16, 2012. This hotel has outstanding service to all its guests. The rate was affordable by going to Hotel.com. I was impressed by the kindness, sincerity of the staff in guest services and also the staff outside of the hotel who took care of parking my car and taking our luggage. Because of the down to earth charm, hospitality, service and guidance from the staff, our stay in Chicago was relaxing and fun. Thank you!

Phones were out, so couldn't call hotel with questions. Internet was out. Hotel under construction without notice before booking. Shower dripped water with no pressure. Told staff and was told issue would be resolved or rooms switched. Was promised a call back, never got it; shower remained unusable. Pay the extra $20 and stay somewhere that has their act together.

Upon arriving to check into the hotel there was remolding that was occurring (which wasn't a big deal). The place is a bit on the smaller scale which can get busy when there is a lot of traffic of people, but nothing terribly hard to deal with. However, due to all the remolding and re painting in such a small place the room reeked of paint. Needless to say one could get high with having to purchase anything but a few nights stay at this place. I left thinking I should've paid just a little more for another hotel.

they are remodeling the hotel, but are very polite. convienent to shopping. the room was ok, but not as clean as i would like. staff polite. it was ok

The hotel is simple, but perfect!. The receptionist were always very nice and helpful. The location cannot be better. Even tough, it is not a luxury hotel, it is way enough for a lovely stay in Chicago.

Loved the king size bed Didn't like the lobby being "renovated'" - saws buzzing, one elevator out of commission Noticed the garbage can in my room was full of previous client's garbage - my room had been renovated, but careless about even removing some masking tape from the wall in the bathroom Toilet in bathroom doesn't allow door to completely open. Tried to "up" the thermostat for heat, and always it clicked back to 64 degrees Liked the fact of having TWO windows, facing two different directions Liked the free internet access Hallway of my floor smelled like fresh paint - I suppose that would be normal since renovation was happening. The throw carpet in my room was basically a "piece" of cut industrial carpet No door on the clothes closet Room was cozy- very European in size- meaning, small, but didn't mind that, really

Construction going on, but if you can handle that, you will be fine. Sure is a convienent location. Everything is small, but that's downtown for you.

The hotel room was nice, with two large beds, a flat screen tv, very decent bathroom, and a desk, not to mention the free coffee. However, the first night, the hotel did not clean our room and the service was not very satisfying, but you get what you pay for, however, the manager was very kind and gave us a discount on the first night. I would highly recommend this hotel, great location! very decent, spacious room. there was construction going on in the hotel, so a bit noisy, and walls are paper thin, but overall would recommend.
