Ramada Birmingham City Centre - بيرمينغهام

Was very happy with this hotel. The staff were friendly, the room was a good size and clean with everything necessary. Very nice area - lots of choice when it came to eating out! Shame that breakfast is so expensive so didn't bother with that. Only complaints were little ones - like the hair drier didn't work, the mugs didn't match at all, and for some strange reason, in a double room, only one towel was out in the bathroom - we had to hunt to find the other folded up in a bottom drawer. But would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Buyer beware - we have stayed over a number of years at this hotel- location is excellent. However, after three times in a row having written and called the hotel about the matresses in rooms being old and very uncomfortable, we will never book again. Hotels.com have also been informed previously. It is apparent no one is taking responsibility.

overall had a good stay, found the lady at the desk quite rude but her colleague who was there working with her made up for her rudeness. found the rooms nice and spacious and the hotel itself was good for the price. other issue was parking there is parking available under the hotel which is £18 for the day. I pesonally think its a rip off, there are cheaper car parks close by.

location, location, location. walking distance to everywhere you go to Birmingham for. Hotel great in every respect. nothing to complain about. will use it again very soon.

I'm very positive about this hotel, but I need to write down some negatives - don't let them put you off... 1. No car park - the "nearest" they recommended was Lime Street but actually the nearest (which I used) was the Mailbox car park - just a few hundred yards. 2. It's very difficult to find the entrance - I walked around dragging my case for ages - it's a small entrance and it looks like you're walking into Starbucks, not a hotel. 3. The bar has zero atmosphere and was not well stocked. I enjoyed my stay - as I said - these are the negatives - andI would choose to stay there again.

We stay here once or twice a year. Excellent location and price. Rooms are clean and comfy, staff are pleasant and helpful, only down side is , breakfasts used to be free and they are now extra at about £13 PP (2 for 1 is fine if there are 2 of you, not so good if there are 3/5 !!) . Nearby pubs are excellent for breakfasts at a few £ per head.

The Ramada Wharfside did not come up on a borrowed sat-nav, although on our return journey home no problem. I had googled a map so was not lost completely. it would be appreciated if there were clearer signs for the hotel. The staff were exceptional, Anna was very pleasant and helpful at all times, another member of female staff on duty at the same time was also helpful. We certainly got value for money. The venue on the canal was idyllic. We would certainly come back again. Although the car park fee of £18 at the Mailbox seemed expensive for 24 hours it was well worth it for a piece of mind. Thank you for making our stay a pleasure. We attended a Fragile X Syndrome Conference at another hotel, my son and grandson are affected with this genetic disorder were with us at the time, they can become very anxious and nervous about places they are not familar with. both ao them were very relaxed and happy with their surroundings at your hotel, glad we chose you. Good location spoilt by a hard to locate reception, the street level entrance was locked for security (?) had to park in the service bay and drag case up stairs to reception which was hidden in a starbucks cafe. Reception staff efficient but busy - a smile would have been a plus! Room clean & tidy with a great view of the canal but smelt of cigarette smoke. Corridoor carpets could do with renewing, looked tired and worn. On the whole fine for a central base for one night.

went there with 2 children,booked a room with doudle bed and a sofa bed. staff not friendly. when we got to our room, couldn't unlock the door. saw the same problem experienced by guests 2 rooms next door. we had to call recepion to come up and unlock our door. they did, but throughout our stay it was diificult to unlock door. next morning, ordered breakfast to our room. stated breakfast for 3 people, were given toast etc for one person. had to call for more breakfast. next day, my son and I sat on the end of the double bed, watching tv when the legs of the bed fell out and the end of the bed was on the floor!! although the legs only had to be screwed back on, we had to pack and move to another room, as maintenence did not work on sundays. following morning, went down for breakfast, staff seemed uninterested in serving. my daughter took the last croissant and ten minutes later we were asked if we needed another croissant so it would be warmed up, otherwise they needn't bring out any more, although other guests were eating and it was only 9.20a.m and breakfast is till 10.00. staff atarted clearing up at 9.40, so had to rush. at check-out, staff again not friendly, not bothered. the building was nice with a nice view of the canal, but service and experience not good. would not stay there again.

Couldnt get a better location right above The Mail Box on the canal, within walking distance of NIA, ICC, Sea Life Centre, BullRing etc. Hotel very comfortable and I requested a canal view which we got, The late night noise wasnt an issue for us. Parking is expensive at The Mail Box but we paid for on street parking which was much cheaper just behind the hotel. A great value Hotel in a great location would recommend.

Hotel is perfectly located for easy access to shopping and nightlife. Staff are friendly and the rooms are clean and functional. Will definitely use this hotel again should we need to. Only small issue I the quality of the bed. The mattress has had it's day and needed replacing. Apart from that a really enjoyable stay.

The overworked staff of the hotel were very friendly and helpful. I think this hotel is suffering from a lack of maintanace in difficult economic times. The electronic key card system was not working in the hotel and a member of staff had to come up from reception to let me into my room every time I returned. This was the case for a number of guests. My room was not very clean. A previous guest has smoked in it and the carpet has a large deposit of ash on it. The cleaner may not have been able to get into the room before my say and clean it up. I was expecting better from a Ramada.

The hotel and the location were fine. The problem was finding it by car. The address street is not for motors and so is not in the satnav database. Even when in the space in front of the hotel, we witnessed would-be guests having trouble spotting it as the signang on the front is minimal. It would be a good idea if reservations were confirmed with an accompanying message about how to find the place, first by car and then once on foot.

The Ramada is situated in a fantastic location by the canal. Easy reach to bars restuarants and ofcourse the Mailbox shops! The staff in the hotel were brilliant and we were able to leave our luggage in a safe place before and after check in. I would strongly recommend this hotel.

We were in Birmingham for a three night stay. On the first day unfortunately my husband fell ill and the staff were so helpful to us in every way. Would highly recommend staff for their friendliness and helpfulness.

This hotel is not the easiest one to find but well worth the walk!! A beautiful location right by the canal and only a 5 min walk to the NIA centre. I would recommend this hotel for the location and the room was comfortable and clean.

The hotel, although a bit difficult to find, is in a great location on the canal. We had an event in the National Indoor Arena and the location was really good for this - just a 10 minute walk away along the canal. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants and shops and is in a good location for exploring the rest of the city. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful.

Perfect to visit the NIA as only a short walk. handy for shops and restaurants and easy parking.

no food to be had after 23.00 . walked to broad steet and had a very good curry .

Had difficulty finding the entrance (look for Starbucks not Ramada) but once in it was fine. Rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. Great location for shopping and a night out in the Mailbox

Excellent location for Birmingham City centre and canal side walks/ tourist interest. However, don't plan to get much sleep hear as hotel sits on a row of Bars that play music/ live bands into early morning and seem to ignore Sunday hours etc Also, be warned as car parking is very, very expensive at the Mailbox and not subsidiced by Hotel. This will be recommended to you/ closest but there is a NCP car-park nearby. Be good once black mould has been cleaned from shower ....., ( ''due refurb'', but this is a new hotel)!

arrived at the hotel early. we were able to go straight into our room. On arrival to the room we were very impressed. The welcome message on to TV was very impressive. We spent 3 nights/4days and it was a very comfortable and peaceful break. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Beds were very comfortable. Will defo return to this hotel

Nice lady on reception, helpful staff, large room, very clean. No toiletries but a Dove dispenser on the wall. Pleasant stay overall. Lovely surroundings, lots of nice bars, restaurants and shops.

Great location, nice rooms clean and functionable, very safe for ladies who are having a celebrateory night out. Note Cheaper parking available just opposite the entrance to Mailbox instead of driving into the underground parking thats £18 per night carry on round under bridge to either parking actually under bridge £7 or the NCP parking multistory its really just accross the road

A lovely spacious room , appreciated by my 2 teenagers . Great service , location for our evening at the EW & F Concert at the NIA -21/07/10 . With a busy commercial / shopping area , need to indicate its location as it can be easily missed - its very good family hotel , and needs to promote its location on a map . We recommend it , and will stay there again - a great internet price offer . Well done to the Ramada

I think the location of this hotel is idea considering you are just a few minutes walk away from Birmingham News Street Station, and the City Centre. Bath room could have been a little more cleaner and room service could clean room better as well. But that is just basic improvements. Overall great location for the price. you will love walking along the canals.

I enjoyed my stay the Hotel is in a great location on the Canals right in the centre Birmingham Staff very friendly and efficient all in all a good stay, the one problem is Noise from Construction Site next door very loud starts at 8 in the morning hope you dont want to sleep in

The hotel room quality, furniture was good, the service was bad, there was no conceirge, no mini bar in the room, one door access card was only issued to us. I was dissapointed, when I asked for conceirge and was told, we will give you a trolley to shift your luggage. Also, in the second day of our 3 days stay, we reicved a call from reception and they have told us, that the water will be disconnected for few hours from our room. This was discrasefull thing.

I went to Birmingham to visit my daughter who is a student there. The Ramada is situated in the city centre and everything we need to do or go to was within walking distance from this hotel. I will certainly stay here again.

Been there week- end 13-15 may 2011- Quick incheck. Got room to the wrong side with no view to the canal, but I guess you have to pay extra for the fantastic view. No safetybox Very central location with restaurants and bars and shop just outside the door. I`ll return

Goede locatie, dichtbij stations. Goede prijs/kwaliteitverhouding. Kamer niet geheel schoon, vlekken op de muur. Geen airco en een raam openzetten is vanwege het lawaai niet prettig. Ontbijt erg duur.

Ruime, schone kamer, met mooie docuhegelegenheid. Vlakbij winkels, eetgelegenheden en New Street station.

Jag kan verkligen rekommendera det här hotellet! Det ligger väldigt vackert placerat och under hotellet finns fyra restauranger. Det ligger nära till både pubar, bio och shopping. Vi stannade bara en natt och hade bästa vädret man kan tänka sig. Det var ca 25 grader på dagen och väldigt varmt på natten. Om ni ska dit på sommaren så bör ni tänka på att det inte finns någon luftkonditionering! Det finns en liten högljudd fläkt man kan använda. (inte bra alternativ) Vi var där i slutet av maj och jag kan bara tänka mig hur jobbigt och varmt det blir på sommaren. Så tänk på det! Allt annat var väldigt bra. Vi stannade lördag-söndag och då kostade frukosten £6.5 per person men på en vardag kostar den mellan £12-13. De har ett stort utbud vid frukosten och vi tyckte absolut att det var värt priset! Som jag skrev så ligger det väldigt vackert och från restaurangerna så har man utsikt över kanalen i Birmingham det är ett romantiskt område som har nära till allt. Det enda stora problemet var dock luftkonditioneringen. Trevlig resa!
