It was an ok stay. I loved the mirrors in the room. The windows were cloudy so we couldn't really l look out.

Terrible hotel and even worst service

Very small quaint, simple place. The hotel itself is super simple. Small rooms, small TVs, simple decor. The staff was friendly. It is what it is. If you need a simple place to crash a few miles from downtown, this place works just fine. If you want something lavish, you'll have to shell out more money. Free breakfast included -- like everything else, was "okay."

Convenient, clean, comfortable and reasonable.

After reading many reviews of this property, I was somewhat hesitant to book, however on balance, it seemed to be a good value. After returning this morning from 5 days at this hotel, I would not hesitate to stay there again. I chose the larger "suite" queen room, which was only a few dollars more than the standard room, and was nice. The room was very large, with a seating area with a sleeper-sofa, as well as a sleeping area, separated by a counter with a sink, microwave and refrigerator. The condition of the room was fine, with fairly recent carpet and paint (ugly avocado-green and brown colors, but that is just personal taste). The bath was average size for an older property, and had the typical one-piece fiberglass tub/surround. Tile was older, as was sink/counter, which had been coated with one of the resurfacing products. Not fancy, but all was clean. The bed was fantastic, and the sheets were very nice. The location is a bit out in the middle of nowhere, however you are literally 5 minutes from downtown and the riverwalk, and 10-15 minutes from the northside and airport. The hotel is right at the entrance to BAMC and Fort Sam Houston, so lots of military families stay there. Breakfast was make-your-own waffles, cold cereal, rolls, biscuits and gravy, sausage and juice/coffee. All in all, a much nicer property than the others along this strip of motels, at about the same price.

We arrived an hour early and were told quite rudely that no one was checking in early. No problem there. She asked me name of reservation and I told her. 15 minutes before check in time I go into lobby to wait. She tells me room has not been cleaned yet and probably won't be ready at 3 pm. 3 pm I go back in and she tells me she pulled housekeeper off other rooms to clean mine. 3:30 pm I am told my room is now ready. The room was not clean by any standards. I bought febreze to spray in the room that reeked of stale smoke. We will not be staying here again.

Vry friendly and helpful service at all times. I saw three different people at the front desk and they were all just as attentive. Breakfast wasnt that great (waffles, biscuits gravy sausage, toast, hard boiled eggs cereals, no scrambled eggs). This was a great location for the event i was going to, however just becayse its on 35 doesnt mean there alot around. I loved that they have a small snack room to purchase cookies microvable snacks and such. BEST BEDS EVER.

Nice staff

Nice room front desk was rude answered cell phone for personal call during our check in. We were very tired from flying in and this made our process longer

Everything about this hotel was wonderful..the room was spacious and clean, a 6 min drive to at&t center to see the spurs, a 15 min drive to the,airport, a 25 min drive to seaworld. a little confusing how to get there at first, but Janet was so nice helping redirect us and even let us checkin early. There was free breakfast but mostly carbs which was a little disappointing. Other than the breakfast, everything was great.

The people there are very pleasant rooms very clean, they only thing we found was that the furniture was very stained and old and needed to be replaced.

i would not book @microtel again

Great and friendly service. Not the best shape as far as maintenance of main structure but the room and Hotel kept very clean. Very close to ATT&T Center and not too far from downtown but not very close to a lot of food options. So plan to get something before you retire to your room.

Staff were great. Everything worked. Rooms a little utilitarian and small and very clean.

Staff was very friendly and accomodating, Ms Bravo and Ms Janet especially. Location close to train route and next to heavy equipment shop not ideal due to the almost hourly train horns sounding and almost hourly heavy equipment start ups. Would be better if windows were thicker to reduce or mute some of the noise. Area of most disappointment was that none of the fitness equipment worked. Reported to the staff one first day of my stay. Recommended they put a sign on each piece of fitness equipment advising hotel guest the fitness equipment was broken to eliminate possible liability. 21 days later fitness equipment was still broken and no sign warning guests the fitness equipment was broken.

The service and hotel itself were wonderful. I had bisquits and gravy for breakfast both days, the coffee tasted great. I wouldn't suggest going to hang out by the pool or walk around the area but it was a great value for business and very clean and comfortable.

Room was clean, maid was excellent, breakfast ran out before time, staff was courtesous, and location fit our purpose.

If you are visiting a loved one or friend at fort sam houston, this hotel has a great location, right by the base easy to get to and back. The price is great, breakfast is good, but have to get there early for the hot food. we stayed 3 days. For the price worth it

It was pretty cool staying with u guys

All of the staff members were genuinely friendly and helpful . The room was very clean . Breakfast was great . This motel is definitely in a league all its own . Thank You !

Staff was very friendly - only problem is next to freeway - heard trucks all night long - thought there would be coffee makers, iron boards in room but that only applies to the "suites". Would stay again

Ready access to Ft Sam Houston.

I am not a picky person, living in the dirt in Afghanistan makes me appreciate a working toilet. But this hotel was just basically that. I picked it because it was closer to BAMC where I was doing business. But it being close was about the only good thing about this place. Biggest thing for me was the internet was horrible, hard to connect to and was very slow. Which I need to do my work, so that by alone is a deal breaker for next time for me. The whole hotel was very worn, the carpets were really dirty. You could tell the room was cleaned, but not very well. There were hairs on the bathroom floor and in the tub. The over all condition of the room was up kept but again very worn and in need of updating or replacing the carpet. I didn't even want to walk on it without my shoes. When I brought my stuff in the desk clerk commented on how that was a good idea. And that if more people did that their parking lot wouldn't get hit as much. So I was wondering if my car was going to get broken into all night. There is more to list, but I would just recommend on finding something else.

This hotel was absolutely perfect. I was shocked and upset that i havent stayed there before. The building was classy and very new looking. The staff was VERY nice. The room was super clean and classy. One of my favorite parts was the free breakfast. It had all the normal things like pastries, cereal, milk, and juice; but it also had fresh and warm cinnomen (sp) rolls, waffles, sausage and biscuit, biscuits and gravy, and nutrigrain bars. I was VERY satisfied with my stay at this hotel :)

Hotel room were clean and fresh, great service, and not too far from many attractions!! Will be staying there on the next visit!!!

The hotel staff was very nice. But the general condition of the hotel was not good. Holes in the walls and the carpets were filthy. But it was very convenient for my situation.

My room was a disaster!!! First of all I ordered a room with one king sized bed non-smoking and when I got there they gave me a room with 2 queens non-smoking. Also the paint was peeling and chipped everywhere- in the bathroom, on the sink, on the walls near the bed. When I complained about the room the staff began to get a little rude . The hotel is in a very convenient area though.

Staff was amazing but the rooms were literally "micro". The hall way smelled like an ashtray but other than that it was decent.

overall, it was very comfortable and clean. did not have any distractions and was very pleased with everything. hotel staff was pleasant and helpful. also, the hotel was pretty close to many attractions.

terrible, the aircondition went out in the middle of the morning, and I had to be moved to another room. A handicap room. Not nice or comfortable.

Stayed one night while in San Antonio. Convenient to the freeways and can be anywhere in a short time if the traffic is cooperative. Nice, quiet hotel even on the side of IH 35.

found live crickets in our rooms 2 nights...towels were hard...A/C made a lot of noise... could hear all the cars on interstate....could hear the train (it was loud!)...fan in bathroom was super noisy....pool is small...the door to hallway was crooked so people in hallway could see in our room!...room smelled bad like mold....would i stay here again? NO. I rather pay a little more to sleep without so much noise.

This is a bear to find, I drove arround, and arround. The breakfast is poor but the rooms are small and comfortable. Do not use as a family stay but for 1-2 people on the go ,great.

Staff at the Microtel were very nice, the room was always clean, and it is only 5 to 10 minutes away from just about anything you want to see in San Antonio

The hotel was clean and the staff was very helpful. no fridge or microwave though.

clean room, courteous employees

The pictures online do not represent the actual room i.e. the room was really small and untidy. I was put in a room with a funky smell that slowly got worse over time. I think it was from the AC. I asked for a different room and was much happier with the second room (at least it didn't smell.) I not stay here again. And, I advise anyone who does...stay away from room 214!
