We stayed at Cotton Exchange Hotel for 2 nights. The first night we went out on Bourbon Street and partied hard. I woke up in the morning sweating my booty off and saw the temperature of the room read 80 degrees. When we were leaving the hotel, we decided to let the front desk know that about the high temp in the room. When we came back for the day it was still 80 degrees. It hadn't changed so we called 2 more times and they sent the maintenance men up to take a look. They determined the air conditioner was broken and moved us to a different room immediately and apologized as well. Everyone who stated about the air "sucking" just was not persistent. If you're persistent, they will fix it. For the price of the hotel, you cannot expect million dollar treatment, so follow-up yourself. Other than that, the hotel was great. Staff was friendly, beds and bathrooms were ok. We didn't need it for much else.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean and comfortable.

Price and location are great. The building and rooms are clean and updated. If service is what you are looking for, this is not it. Everytime I have stayed they have run out of towels and the front desk staff is very rude when asked for towels. They went off on me when asking for towels. The first time I stayed the elevator went out. The second time the heat went out. This time nothing went out but some rooms had no hot water. You will have fresh towels the first night but after that you will probably have to beg for them because it has gone that way every time I have stayed. I will keep staying because of price and location and it is updated. I can tolerate the bad service and rudeness because in Nola you are out having a good time for the most part and just need the room for a little sleep and shower.

The hotel could use a little work. But it is nice for what it costs. The help was very friendly. It is within a few blocks of very good restarants. Walking distance of the French quarter with good shopping and good bars.

We stayed here just for a night. It was the perfect location for us because we wanted to be within walking distance but not in the quarter. Not a luxury hotel but definitely nice and clean. Our toilet was clogged when we first arrived but called the front desk and they fixed it right away. Would stay again.

Cottonwood Exchange customer service is off the chart amazing. The late night hotel desk clerk Gabby does not get any better. The room was smaller than anticipated, hot water in the shower was a hit or miss, not the most comfortable bed in the world. The location was great, everything was in walking distance yet you did not have to hear the noise from the party goers. I was with my 13 year old niece. The breakfast was very good, especially becuase it was included in the room cost. I would stay here again.

Great location and very nice rooms for the price. Parking is overpriced, but there is always the street.

I've visited NOLA before & stayed on St. Charles which was also great however the location & service we received at Cotton Exchange was the best... Bourbon St is literally the next block & the breakfast was a nice touch in mornings...waffles fruit cereal eggs Bacon bagels etc... this is my new hotel for NOLA we stayed out until 6am & were safe walking from Harrahs down Canal NYC has nothing on NOLA as it's the true city that NEVER sleeps... front desk & cleaning staff awesome...

This was our second time staying here. Because we love the location. The rooms weren't horrible but could use some renovations. But we only needed the room to shower and sleep.

I went there becauae I had stayed there years ago and it was wonderful..this time the room stunk. There were stains all over the floor. Tv remote had no batteries..desk clerk was rude and hateful..had to ask twice for washcloths and the rooftop pool was tiny. Dirty towels left in room from previous guests and the bedskirt was all stained

Very poor management of hotel. Dirty. Leaking toilet above flooded my bathroom. Was moved, reluctantly to a different room. Staff appeared unprofessional and uncaring. I will never stay there again even if that means paying higher price for better accommodations.

The hotel was nice. The staff was not a friendly as others we encountered on our travel this time, but they got the job done. The room was spacious and the bathroom was impressively well kept.

My room had no wash cloths and the front desk couldn't find any so I used a hand towel. The next day, they found me some wash cloths. Front desk was usually busy but most of the time, pretty attentive (for NOLA). It's a little different vibe in that city. Great location!!

We were able to walk two or three blocks to burbon street/the french quarter and basically anywhere we wanted to go. The rooms were nice, the breakfast was good, and the service was awesome, they got a cab for the airport and held our bags, totally cool. PS go on the cajun pride tours!!

It was a good value, close to the French Quarter.

It was good, pool was very dissatisfying! Not because it was small but not very clean and probably not maintained too often!

This hotel is very close to canal and the bars on bourbon, it was a great walking distance to the french quarters, harbor and casino. The hotel room isn't fancy, but it served its purpose. My wife and I would consider staying here again because of the location.

This hotel was a great value for the price. It was 1 block from the french quarter, clean, and staff was very courteous. The only downside was the bed was hard, but after a long night on Bourbon street, it didnt really matter!

I have sayed at this hotel before and both times I have found it to be very good value for money. It is in a very good location and the breakfast was very good too.

Clean sheets, spotless room, great separate bathroom, dust free. No washcloths. Overall good experience.

This hotel is in a convenient location and is quite affordable. The free Wifi is nice and it's only $16 to park in their parking garage.

We thought for the price the Hotel was great. The only thing that we did not like was the fact that being right next to the elevator, the noise was annoying, not of people in the elevator, but the sound of the machinery. Other than that the location is fantastic, the people we met seemed very nice, the workers were great, very responsive, for the most part, just felt like it was very well priced, convenient place to stay. The pool, although small was very nice. We would definitely stay there again!

My family member's property went missing during our stay. Management was extremely unhelpful and unsympathetic. We called New Orleans Police to file a report.

The physical hotel was fine. Exactly what we expected and needed for our visit. The staff, however, almost ruined our trip.. Traveling to NO to celebrate a college graduation and then left with we only have one of the three rooms you reserved-you have to deal with it attitude, confirmed that we will NOT be staying at the Cooton Exchange again. A two hour wait for rooms that were reserved but was their mix-up upon check in, is beyond unacceptable.. The entire front desk staff was rude, unhelpful, dismissive and unconcerned. The saddest part was that we were not the only guests experiencing this as we sat in the lobby with six other parties trying to figure things out..

We arrived very late due to flight canceled but the desk clerk was great and helped us and made us feel welcomed. The breakfast was excellent and lots of choices. The elevator was a problem as only one was working .We enjoyed daisy dukes open 24 hrs. the food was great. The room was clean and maid service was done daily.The location was great and the rate was fair.

The staff is awesome! Very friendly and helpful. You can't beat the location! I will being staying there again when I go back to New Orleans!

Great hotel and location for the money.

Nice Hotel and a good price. Staff was nice and the room was comfortable. Bathroom is small and the hotel is older but is vert convenient to the French Quarter. I would stay her again.

We stayed in the hotel for a total of 4 days. The room is standard, nothing to speak of, bathroom quite small, clean.. Front desk staff are friendly and accomodating (except for one, it might also be cultural). I needed my boarding pass printed and staff cheerfully offered to do it in their computer. Housekeeping are meticulous about cleaning the room. Complimentary breakfast awesome with some healthy items - plenty, never ran out. Valet staff are respectful and prompt. How I wish their gym is bigger with more equipments like exercise for arms, legs. I don't mind staying there again.

Location was the best...2 blocks to Bourban Street. Hotel stay included a free continental breakfast which was just the right amount. Rooms clean and beds ok. Pillows were the worst ever. Little hard squares. Problem getting hot water fast...you had to run for awhile to get it. I would stay there again.

We didn't have any hot water issues, everything about the hotel was fine, not fancy, but met our needs. Breakfast was good, location was great. Only complaint is that the elevator was slow. For the price it was great.

Good value for the money, staff very friendly and helpful.

Hotel was clean. Had endless hot water for showers each day. Was walking distance to many downtown attractions. Will stay again.

I stayed at this hotel, with great trepidations after the abundance of negative reviews. Mind you, this is a DISCOUNT hotel; this means, "bare-bones". If you're searching for a clean, safe hotel, then stay here. If you want elaborate amenities, look elsewhere! You get what you pay for.

I recently stayed at the Cotton Exchange and had a wonderful visit. I read a lot of the reviews and was nervous about staying here, but I had no problems. The people at the desk were friendly and helpful if I needed directions. My room was clean, comfortable and I had hot water. Location was perfect for getting to Bourbon Street or Lafayette Park. I would definitely stay here again.

Microwave with huge dent - did not seem safe. No water pressure in shower. Sheets had holes. Bed not made but every other day. Towels threadbare and scratchy. Tiny CRT tevision. Furniture wobbly. By 'historic', I think they mean 'ancient and in poor repair'. Bellman and front desk staff were pleasant and helpful.
