Sky Hotel, a Kimpton Hotel - أسبين

the location, the staff and the apres ski are the best things about this great hotel! this was our second stay and the sky is our favorite hotel in Aspen. the breakfast is a bonus, try to get it included in your rate!

I stayed here over the weekend with my husband for a quick getaway before having to work in Denver. It was off season, so it was pretty quiet around town as the slopes were not open for another week. The staff was pleasant and the ambiance very nice, however we were extremely disappointed that the bar and restaurant which the site boasts about was closed. All the other hotels had their bar & restaurant open, and it would have been important to know that the Sky would basically be closed down, as we would have selected another hotel. The staff was very nice, however the rooms were pretty small (the desk & desk chair touches the bed making it difficult to even get to the balcony). The location is quite convenient though.

Friendly, hospitable staff made all the difference.

Fantastick hotel, a bit quirky but fun! Great location in the heart of Aspen and right by the ski lifts/mountain. The staff, especially Milana (front desk) made this the best hotel we've stayed at in Aspen!

Hotel was great for the price and location, but not as nice as the Little Nell next door. It's an older hotel done over in a retro-chic motif. Some of the rooms have out door entrances (old hotel style) so people are walking in front of your windows all the time. The rooms and bathrooms are SMALL, but nice..... but not over-the-top fancy. Hotel staff was nice.

I LOVED my stay at the Sky Hotel. I would love to stay again. The staff are outstanding!!!!! The bed is incredibly comfortable. The " Oxia " was particularly helpful. My only small comment is that the bathroom needs upgrading. Again..happy ,happy ,happy!

We spent one night in Aspen to coordinate with family plans. Hectic as the family plans were, the hotel was a pleasant respite, fresh fruited water, wine, perhaps more attention to wine training would be in order as the young woman who served was not savvy about wine or appetizers--other places use this as a marketing opportunity for wines in the region. Very relaxing otherwise, bikes provided, good infor on activities, and many amenities within reason and some over the top, i.e., oxygen. Probably would have used it last month when I had pneumonia. The hallways were a little too hot, we were hot in the room and had to turn on the AC, still kind of hot, and apparently "locals" can use the pool area which sometimes means it is too busy for the paying customer so we sat across and watched. Also someone was smoking and it seemed like a young group as opposed to young professionals. hmmmm, otherwise it was fine. Would use it again and complain about the kids hogging the best area of the pool. The pet friendly policy is confusing. Do you want to let pets stay or do you arrange for their care elsewhere? hmmmm

The hotel was very accommodating, had a great atmosphere and service that was out of this world personal and wonderful. The restaurant and bar were fantastic, there was something happening every evening, and it was fun for a group with ages ranging from 40-60. The staff were AMAZING! Everyone was super friendly, and helpful. This is a great place to be.

The Hotel was very well maintained and the staff was one of the most accomondating we have ever experienced. The only downside was that Hotels.com failed to tell us that the dining room and lounge were closed at this time of year. The ad for the dining and lounge was very attractive, so we were disappointed they were closed. Other than that, excellent Hote.

Staff were excellent, friendly, helpful and in general did a first rate job comparable to any 5 star hotel. Location of hotel is right in the core of Aspen and could not find better location. Hallway (2nd) had public bathrooms and always smelled in the halls like urine -- bery bad. Rooms VERY small including low ceilings but nicely appointed. Bathrooms also tiny but well appointed. If location was not that important you could save a lot of $ by choosing a cheaper but equally nice hotel on Main St with a 4 minute walk to the central core and have larger room with equally nice staff. In general, a nice stay in an excellent location.

This hotel sits right at the base of the main ski hill in Aspen - and has the coolest, nicest pool area I've ever seen. The first day we checked in, we went out and shopped a bit in Aspen, came back and decided to relax in the pool. I dipped my foot in, to find it was heated - but not to the point of being hot. It was perfect. Within a few minutes, a waitress served me a beer, at the pool. I basically drink my beer while swimming. Then there's the hot tub. Again, perfect temperature, situated just next to and above the pool, with a cool waterfall flowing into the pool and a nice rock wall surrounding the back side of the tub. This hotel also lets non-guests visit and hang out by the pool - which is really cool, we thought. We met several locals - very nice folks - who were happy to chat and share info. about Aspen. And, I have to say, this pool attracts some very nice looking people. The scenery was a definite bonus. But, despite its reputation as a party place - while we were there, it was very low-key. There were singles, couples and families all enjoying the pool and bar area. Just a very nice, super cool hotel. I can't wait to visit Aspen again, and will not stay anywhere else.

The Sky hotel is supposed to be one of the best hotels in Aspen. The rooms are very small and dingy: not what you expect for a hotel this caliber. The lobby is very small and noisy and the pool area is very close to many rooms so you hear a lot of noise. The walls are also very thin. They try to make up for the rooms by having an "honor bar" and lame bedding with faux fur throws and very uncomfortable bathrobes. The room layout is similar to a Motel 6 with rooms on the outside. Some rooms you can only access by walking thru the pool area, getting soaked along the way. There was trash in the hallways that never got cleaned. Everything about this hotel is pretentious and overpriced. Customer service is non existent since the hotel is staffed with college stoner ski bums who could care less about your stay. Don't waste your money! Also construction is happening right across the street which makes the noise unbearable at times. If you are splurging to stay in Aspen anyway, just stay at the Nell or Hotel Jerome and avoid this pit. What a waste!

1. Hair in the shower- not ours 2. Dirty bathroom floor, tile job not finished. 3. Room and bathroom exceeding small, difficult to maneuver. 4. Small but nice balcony. 5. Impression- a hotel for socializers. 6. Decor- similiar to an Austin Powers movie, exceedingly modern but very dated modern 7. Room amenities very complete, great sheets- Frette 8. They tried hard but it just isn't up to tasteful decor 9. Great location at base of the mountain, lifts visible from room, great shopping within walking distance

My boyfriend proposed and asked the concierge to bring flowers and chocolates before our arrival. Everything was perfect and they even sent a bottle of champagne along with a card!

Who knew Aspen could get even better?

Many of the elements of a boutique hotel are evident in the Kimpton Sky Hotel. The design features are fresh, colorful and coordinated, but the furniture arrangement is awkward and uncomfortable. One small problem was with the hair-dryer - the one in the room may have worked, but the fault interrupter had snapped, so it didn't. When someone brought me a second dryer, it blew only cold air. The desk person said that another would be sent, but it never arrived.

The Sky Hotel was wonderful. The location couldn't have been better and the views were amazing. They are pet friendly and just a short walk away is a nice park to walk the dog. The pool is nice and relaxing, but at night it is hard to find a place to sit. It looks to be the local hangout after 4 pm. But you can always go on the balcony and enjoy their free wine hour and take in the views. The only negative is that they state they are eco-friendly but when we arrived they had all the lights on in our room, the tv and radio blaring. Each time they would clean our room they would leave all the lights on for us, which I found unnessary. It seems like such a waste, especially if they are leaving all the lights on in every room when they clean...with tv's and radios going. Otherwise it was a great stay.

Great location in Aspen, Co...Walking distance to all the best parts of this great town, however, we were given a room that is is open to the outside...kinda like a lower priced motel. Not what we expected given the premium price we paid. Great location, just not worth the extra $$$. We were very disappointed.

The staff was very courteous but the service was amateurish. Staff was willing but not 'at the ready' with solutions or suggestions. Smacks of little or no professional training in the hospitality industry. The hotel reminded me of a party hotel on a beach. Seems to attract young partiers who prefer the pool to nature ... not a bad thing but at odds with why most people come to the mountains. Having stayed at other Kimpton hotels and having met Bill Kimpton around the time he started the business, the Sky does not comport with his vision, in my view.

Service was exceptional. We couldn't say more about how good it was. Complimentary wine and hors d' oeuvres were much higher quality than other places and other Kimptons we've experienced. Parts of the hotel and some of the rooms are tired. High priced for what you get, but this was Aspen. Don't know if that's an "excuse".

The hotel was very cool. The room was small but, it did not bother me. This is a great hotel for the cool and aspiring cool guy.

The basic room is an exterior walk-up motel style wing of the hotel. Upgraded to a suite which was nice and more inline with what you would expect in Aspen. Common area was nice, great location.

Great location in Aspen - hotel is close to gondola, ski lifts, shopping, etc. Great heated pool and hot tub.

Exceeded expectations. Perfect location in town. Moderate size room, but well appointed and comfortable. Hotel emptied fridge mini-bar at my request. Also very pet friendly.
