The overall accommodations were fine. The room had a great view of the woods and a creek. No elevators on way to our room, so had to use stairs. Staff seemed good and knowledgeable. Free breakfast was nice, but could be better maintained as the serving time goes on. I prefer disposable cups in the room instead of the glass and ceramic water and coffee mugs that were supplied. The coffee for the in-room coffee pot was a brand name which was a nice touch these days. Overall, a nice place to stay that is not on the beaten path and goes easy on the wallet.

General condition is worn down but people were good. Enjoyed the quit country setting.

Springhouse Inn is centrally between Chicago and South Bend. We were there for a Notre Dame football game and took the opportunity to tour craft breweries and wineries in south Michigan and north Indiana. The hotel is somewhat dated, but the rooms are large and backs onto a forest area. It was quiet, clean and comfortable for the price.

peace and quit is the name

The positives of Springhouse Inn are the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel and our room. The included breakfast was an appreciated feature and the location to Indiana Dune State Park is fantastic. However, a few maintenance issues keep me from giving this a complete thumbs up and I would recommend only with the advice that a potential guest check with the hotel. The hot-tub was not working and the door to our balcony wouldn't open so neither one we could use which was a bummer. The Wi-Fi was spotty in our room but ok in other areas. When asked to move my room to one with a working balcony the staff were nice but said they were full. There wasn't a maintenance person nor a manager onsite either which was a disadvantage. Overall though it's a nice place that's an incredible value for how close you are to the beach.

Hotel was fine...run down and avertized porches were so nasty dirty you couldnt use them. There were no chairs anyway!!! Get to breakfast early because they ran out of food each am with about 90 minutes left. Staff was not friendly and didnt know anything about the area, and often couldnt be bothered to leave tne side room when talking to you, from their comfy chair with feet on table. The hotel served its purpose and the bed was comfy..that was all we really needed!

Overall I was pleased with the the Inn. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Not a bad little place to stay for the price.

This inn is for everybody!! I strongly recommand.. I wish to go there again!!:)

Decent hotel, near the Dunes.

While this hotel was probably a resort in the past, it is behind on updates and it has a mold problem and definite smell. Our room was on the lower level and the hallway smelled horrific, the room smelled like sweat. Thankfully, there was a door leading to a nice patio we could open, but I slept in my clothing. Spend the extra $20 for a nicer, cleaner place.

A superb place to stay: beutifully locaxted and elegantly appointed, with utter simplicity.

A very nice surprise for the price in a rather natural setting, close to the national lakeshore, not far from Chicago. Indoor pool and sauna were a nice bonus. Too bad hot tub was down for repair. Have recommended this hotel my neighbor who is traveling to Chicago this weekend.

This place was amazing. I wasn't expecting such a quaint, clean hotel with an unbelievable atmosphere. They actually have a dining room for their "continental" breakfasts. The staff couldn't have been nicer and the room was unbelievable. Nothing that I was expecting. Each room is very country looking and has a balcony overlooking a creek (that was our view) and the woods. It was gorgeous and the price was excellent. I've stayed in hotels that cost over twice the cost of this place and not nearly as nice. Thanks so much for this suggestion.
