Newly renovated. Clean rooms. The beds are hard! You can also hear everything that is going on in the hall ways.

stayed 3 nights. visited zoo and Legoland. traveled with 6 yr old and 1 yr old. Stayed in 1 bed room with King. Sofabed was very uncomfortable and we had to fix the spring multiple times. King bed in the bedroom was comfortable and nice. TV was out of date. breakfast was good but crowded if you go around 8:30 - 9am. Only complain is their sofabed. If they upgrade or replace sofabeds, we would definitely stay again.

The buffet breakfast cannot be beat...especially if traveling with children. The rooms T.V.s are out-of-date, and the throw pillows were somewhat dirty, but I would definitely stay again

Staff was very nice, breakfast was good, room was fine, Internet Connection good too. met all my needs.

Smelly hallways and rooms. Decor much outdated compare to picture shown.

Rooms need maintenance!!! Showers & carpets are too old! Breakfast was great though. Food at the restaurant is not good. Reception was friendly. Wouldn't recommend, very disappointed

Hotel was nice and our stay was fine, but the hotel made a mistake and double charged for the room. Took three days to get the problem straightened out. In this day and age, with computers tied in to everything, and Hyatt being a higher end hotel, this sould not have happened. I will think twice before booking at this Hyatt hotel again.

I booked this hotel because it was close to where I needed, I got a great rate and it was a Hyatt. The hotel was nice and easy to get to. The room was clean. The front desk staff was very nice and friendly. The bed was very uncomfortable and there was no ice machine on the 4th floor. I wandered the halls at 9:30 pm looking for it - finally called the front desk to find that it was located on the 2nd floor. Not that big of a deal, but there should be signs on the 4th floor directing me to the machine on the 2nd floor - or the front desk staff should let me know this upon check in. It's small details like this that make the difference.

Everything OK, except first lady at the desk who was unwilling to give us a room before check-in hour, even if some rooms were ready. The second lady we talked too, a few minutes after, gave us a room.

I thought it was over priced for the condition of the hotel...requested an early check in but instead wwasted another 30 mins waiting....no flat screen tv....for the price they should have one

Great hotel

It is an excellent starting point to visit the beaches north of san diego (e.g. 15 min. to La Jolla Cove or Shores).

Stayed one night. Bathroom had layout like a public bathroom. Room was nice and clean. Room was small. Buffet was good. Would stay again tho!

Everything was perfect, except the biggist mistake that your employee made(by taking other credit cards) when we checked in.

the room that we stayed smells so bad like a cigarrete smoke they said they will really clean it well but the smell of smoke is stiil remains the

The staff was very nice, but there were certain deficiencies. The equipment in the fitness center did not work properly. The spa (jacuzzi) was dirty and the water temperature was way too low. The drinking fountain on the 2nd floor did not work.

I agree with the other unpleasant reviews. Food was overpriced and taste horrible. Room had an awful odor. Sheets were not changed prior to check in. Had to request for clean linens & pillowcases and had to change the sheets myself, which I shouldn't have to do. Requested for extra pillows and the items provided were dirty. Bathroom counter was falling apart and could fall any minute. Molds and mildew in the shower area. Toilet was not cleaned properly and thoroughly. Towels did not smell fresh and as if no laundry detergent and fabric softener were used when they are washed. No decent restaurants within walking distance. Quite frankly, were it not for the pleasant and friendly staff, I do not know how a place like this stays in business.

Stayed in a King Suite studio. Great if you have children staying with you. The pullout sofa can also accommodate full size bed and you have a master bed with King bed to yourself. It is comfortable, and liked the stay for the three days we were there. Room is clean and comfortable with ample space. Make sure you go early to the breakfast, otherwise many of the items will run-out. The made to order omelet bar will close much earlier than the breakfast timings.

Hotel was great for business travel, not so good for family vacation travel. 30 minute drive to anywhere, not any restaurants, had to go far or a grocery store. Hotel itself was awesome.

I booked this hotel with the belief (via the description) that is room was a suite with a kitchen area etc. When we arrived we walked into a standard albeit SMALL standard hotel room. I asked the front desk and they said that was a hotels.com problem and that others have had the same issue. If I had knows I was not getting what I paid for I would have booked somewhere else for the price that I paid. Breakfast was awesome and the grounds are very pretty,. Just disappointed that I didn't receive the accomodations I was expecting.

It was a decent stay a bit overpriced ... Location was kinda off , the hallways had a horrible smell and there was some mold in our shower to me totally unexcaptable for a room that is supposed to be cleaned everyday. The breakfast that was included was not good for free I still would pass there was no coffee or juice I waited for ten min to see if it would be refilled but got tired of waiting. I did like the size of the room and everything that it had in it.

the hotel description is deceiving when it says all rooms have stovetop. We stayed in the ground floor and the room did not have a stovetop as we expected. It was the primary reason why we picked this hotel. Nevertheless, the room was clean.

I loved staying here everything was amazing and perfect, from the service to the room! All of the staff was very friendly,nice, and accomidating. If i needed something they made sure that they helped me and got it :)

Overall a pleasant stay. Really only two complaints, 1.The refrigerator was loud enough that we had to shut the door between the bedroom and living room in order to sleep. 2. The hotel is far enough from downtown La Jolla that our cab ride was over twice the bill for dinner.

I travel extensively for both personal and business. I one time I was staying at this property, formerly the Woodfin Suites since 9/2005. I arrived and was told my room was ready. When I arrived to my room, a baby was screaming at the top of his/her lungs and this was not the worst part. I specifically paid for a suite as I needed a refrigerator to store food. I called the front desk and spoke with Christine, who answered my questions and addressed my concerns in what I perceived a condescending tone. She indicated there were no suites available and that I would have to wait 15-20 minutes for an update. I decided to walk to the lobby with my belongings. I was told again by Christine that there were no rooms available and that she could cancel my "reservation" and refund my money. I would have been out of luck. I requested to speak with the supervisor on site, Cori. After waiting several minutes, Cori came out and assisted me. I was assigned room 189. HORRIBLE! The room smelled like mildew and mold! The shower curtain smelled horribly, the shower had orange and black mildew and mold, the toilet was not thoroughly clean. Not a great experience and I will NOT be returning. The Hyatt in La Jolla is a much better place to stay.

The room we stayed in was great! My boyfriend is a late sleeper which usually means I have to sit quietly on the floor when we're in other hotels. Here there was a whole separate room sealed off by doors. It was AMAZING

The free breakfast was excellent and the rates were great too considering the free breakfast. Very nice locality at a peaceful location with shops available very near. High quality rooms with dual TV, kitchenette etc.. Note that some of the rooms do not have electric cooking stove (only microwave) or dishwashers. We took two rooms and luckily one of them had everything. So if you are particular of this, you might want to ask for it specifically.

The hotel room was very large. It was very comfy & felt really like a large suite. The only problem my husband & I ran into was the bathroom water faucet was low. The tv remotes did not work either. The next morning maintenance came in and fixed them both. Other than those two problems are stay was very good. The hotel staff were very nice and professional. We both would definitely stay there again.

When we booked at the hotel months before my wife and I had a lot of doubts about the hotel, we thought we'll lets just try it out and if we didn't have a positive experience obviously it will be our last stay at the hotel... but when we checked-in we were really surprised how friendly and warm the staff were. The place was clean and very presentable. The room was very spacious and clean all the amenities that we needed were at our room. Another plus factor was the free breakfast buffet -- it was indeed hearty and delectable. Our decision was easy --This won't be our last stay!!!

For the price, we got a great deal with a very comfortable sleeper sofa, kitchenette complete with everything we needed. King bed was very comfortable. Room size and hotel location perfect…minutes away from Torrey Pines Beach! AND…the breakfast buffet was awesome! Every morning, a different selection of well-prepared and healthy food, from eggs and bacon, to oatmeal and fruit! The only areas for improvement were: cleanliness…the room was pretty clean when we arrived, but housecleaning didn’t sweep very well in the bathrooms (sand left over from the previous day’s excursion). The mattress pads bunched up. And there were a few burn marks on the kitchenette countertop. HOWEVER, for the amenities, the price, and the comfort, I will always think of Hyatt Suites first when I book my next travel! Great price! Great set up!

Breakfast superb. Room really nice and spacious. Really great value for money. Would deffinately stay here again and would reccomend to anyone to stay. We used for two nights on a recent visit to San Diego for Seaworld.
