Super 8 Wenona Il - وينوا

This location is right off the interstate, but kind of "in the middle of nowhere". It made me a little nervous being a single, female traveler staying here by myself. There is a security window for people who arrive after hours, meaning the front door is locked and you have to be buzzed in, so I guess that is a security feature, but if it is needed, that means the folks who work there don't feel real safe either. My room didn't have any TV channels except basic local channels, which was disappointing. The breakfast was just the typical cold stuff...danishes, cereal, toast...since they don't have many guests each night, I'm sure they can't offer much more. There appeared to have been 3 or 4 guests when I stayed, it was a week night, based on vehicles in the parking lot and the people I saw at breakfast. The room was nice and clean, which was re-assuring.

We were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness and condition of the hotel. Had a good quiet rest, got our laundry done in the guest laundry facilities, and enjoyed the stay.

I have stayed here a few times now and, although it is a bare bones hotel, the owners go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The facility is always clean and every request is met with a smile. There aren't any other hotels in Wenona so, it is surprising how good the service is. You would think there was a competitor or two right next door.

The hotel was nice. The gentlemen at the desk was kind, but difficult to have a conversation with. We had problems in communicating with him about the bill. I would recommend this hotel when others were full.

OK for a late stop along the highway but that's about it.

The hotel was quite clean and the people who ran it were extremely pleasant and helpful. We were a little miiffed because when we made our reservation we made it clear we'd be travelling with dogs. When we were leaving, they tried to charge us $5 per night per dog (two) We refused to pay it. We told them not to clean our room, not to change the linens, and we left everything clean. The dogs made no mess.

This hotel is a great value. Clean and well kept.

Truly you get what you pay for here. Not too pricey but you get wimpy somewhat white towels, bumpy floors, thin walls and each room may or may not have a fridge and microwave. Friendly staff. Good place to stay if you need a quick and inexpensive rest.

To be honest, we've stayed at many Super 8 hotels and have never been unhappy.

We had a wedding to attend in nearby Steator and the hotel in town was booked. Travel between the two was relatively easy. Hotel service was very polite and said hi/good morning/etc each time we passed. We checked in and out with no issues. The hotel and our room were in good condition. Both were very adequate for location and price. Room was clean and comfortable. Most of the rooms we saw looked to follow suit. There isn't much in the surrounding neighborhood, hence the lower rating but it's also Wenona, IL...lol. There's a gas station and a couple fast food joints. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay at the hotel and would use it again if staying in the area.

A few miles away, but was available for the weekend. There was parking available to leave a full size van and trailer. We unloaded a car and drove it to a classic car show that was being held that week end. Then stayed an additional day so could visit and hike trails in a nearby state park.

A bit out of the way but a very peaceful setting and very quiet. Very friendly staff. Only thing it needed was to have the rooms aired out a bit.
