Super 8 Motel - Watertown/Cambridge/Boston Area - ووترتاون

We chose this hotel to go to Fenway and also walk the Freedom Trail. It is very far from both. We took the bus which is right across the street to Central Station and transferred to subway to Park, where the F.T. Starts. It is 2.5 miles one way, we took the ferry shuttle from the USS Constitution back to the aquarium and walked a good distance to the Cheers bar on Beacon Street for lunch. The Capital Building is up a few blocks from here. No elevator in hotel and steep stairs to walk up. Dominos Pizza across the street.. Fridge, flat screen t.v. King bed, good breakfast, microwave in eating area. Only 2 tables, 8 chairs.

you get what you pay for, biggest complaint was that unless you are 90 lbs. soaking wet you will not fit on the toilet stuffed in the small space between the wall and the sink

When you check in there is a sign that says $150.00 fine for smoking on property. But as you enter the motel to the left of the door there was a huge pile of cigerette butts. Hair all over the bath tub,carpet dirty.Very stained sheets. Clean but stained. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

For a one night stay to catch the plane back home, its a wonderful location, especially if you are returning your rental car as it is only 15 min away. There is a Miller's pub down the road in the mall and they have good food for a very decent price.

I needed a place to stay for cheap near Boston. This fit that description! There was free parking, wifi, and a small continental breakfast 7-10. Nothing fancy, you could tell its not the most modern place ever but I guess you get what you pay for. My room was located next to the exit/entrance which I felt made it very noisy in my room. If I had a longer stay I would have asked to switch rooms.

We had no issues, room was clean,breakfast was good and service was good also. I recommend it .

Great location if you have a car. Free parking and internet. Easy access to mass pike and cambridge. Clean large rooms are rare on this area. One of the better super 8s.

I think the selection you can choose for breakfast can be much better but the bus connection to down town was very good, specially with bus 71. It was a good hotel in that price range.

I thought it was great and felt fortunate we had left before all the violence in watertown

I will never stay again. After being kept up all night by a loud lobby family I asked if I could change rooms the second night because the noise started happening again at 10:00pm. I was refused by the desk clerk and, when I asked to speak to the manager, was treated with derision and ridicule to the extent I felt humiliated and threatened. My first thought was to call the police but then I decided to leave immediately and on my way out dropped the key on the desk. The desk clerk intercepted me outside and threw the keys at me! And then started yelling racial epithets claiming I was racially biased!! I felt physically threatened and was ready to defend myself, but luckily he backed off. Thankfully, hotels.com took care of me when I found myself shelter-less in Boston, but I highly recommend you do not go here!

We brought two vans with 15 people. They have an open lot to park in and the rooms are pretty sound proof so I didn't worry about the students not getting enough sleep because of outside sound. The cleaning supplies' smells almost moved me to tears each time I walked in. ...strong enough to create a headache.

Nothing extravagant but worth the money

Indoor parking a plus, modern, updated rooms, could use new bedding/bedspread. Needs updating in the entrance/lobby, stairs tiled, a bit dirty. Staff very nice, great breakfast included, for the price in that area, can't beat it!!!

If you need a room to get by, this will do. Made us feel like teenagers with a cheap hotel.

Overall very nice staff. Got a call in the early morning hours telling me we left the light on in the inside of our car which was very nice. Also got extra help from staff member behind the desk in the morning helping us find directions to our destination.

It seems the Boston suburbs, even relatively affluent ones like Newton, Watertown and Waltham, manage to keep their look unassuming. As soon as my mom said "Where would they put a motel around here," the Super 8 popped up among what seemed to be residential and commercial stuff as well as a river bed. The plant itself was a bit slapdash, stairs and downstairs rooms and such placed wherever they fit, and no lobby to speak of. The garage was just an exterior area sheltered by an extanded second floor. But the room itself was scrupulously clean and well tended. Staff were polite and pleasant. WiFi was included. If you're looking for a place to hang your hat and rest your bones in the course of a specific event nearby, this is as good a place for the price as you're likely to find.

Convenient, affordable and comfortable. No complaints!

3 night stay at this motel. Front Desk hospitality is awesome. They are friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They have a free breakfast that ends at 10am with a large variety of choices. Free coffee in the room. Except for one neighbor who kept slamming door (which you find at most hotels), it was very quiet. (tip: turn on the heat/fan in the room and it drowns out noise) Housekeeping does an excellent job. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this motel for those on a budget.

Nothing special but good price

The hotel is in need of some maintenance. Rugs in the halls are quite tattered. There is a covered parking garage which is very convenient. There was no inclement weather to shield me from during my trip but it was still appreciated. And as the weather cools a car outside gets frost on the window and one in the garage doesn't. So avoided the aggravation of scraping windows. The continental breakfast is limited and the dining area, right in the entry way by the front desk is tiny. There are only two small tables and eight chairs. And there are at least two rooms with doors that open right into this area. I recommend asking for a room on the second floor. That would minimize noise from foot traffic of guests coming and going. When I found the hotel I expected I would hear quite a bit of traffic noise. I didn't and that was a pleasant surprise. My room was above the garage and on the side away from the road. I'm sure that contributed to the quiet but still it was a surprise that traffic noise wasn't apparent. Maid service was inconsistent. One day they didn't replace the shampoo, another the coffee and another the cream and sugar kit. The bed was always made and the towels, towels, toilet and sink always cleaned. All in all I'd say it's a decent if somewhat tattered budget hotel. As long as I'm on my current budgets I'd stay there again.

Hotels in Boston are the most expensive in the country! The Super 8 in Watertown is close to downtown and Cambridge in a nice neighborhood. Although the hotel building is a little old, it was very clean and comfortable and I'd patronize them again.

nice value. easy access to Boston but not actually in Boston.

The bed had black hairs on the sheet, inside blanket, pillow case and in the bathtub. In the outer hallway there was ttrash and garbage emiting the most vile odor. Seeing the filth, my children would not let me stay there and I certainly was not going to stay. It was disgraceful, horrible and disgusting. I went to the front desk to get my money back and the room clerk was not surprised that I would not stay and then said, "I can give you another room". Why would I stay under the circumstanxces I out lined above????

Was in town a weekend when hotel space was difficult. Place was quite satisfactory under the circumstances. And you don't have the steep parking charges of hotels in Cambridge.

We came in late at night and were too tired to consider finding another alternative, but without exaggeration, I cannot recall staying at a hotel this bad. Our room (216) had mold and peeling paint. And even if they had vacuumed (which clearly they hadn't), the carpeting was so stained it was disgusting. The shower curtains were moldy. The desk drawer which was separated from the track was full of pocket debris – spare change, several pieces of candy, a plastic knife, gum wrappers, 3 batteries and random dirt. Hotels.com should drop this place from its offerings.

the staff were very helpful and nice especially Jakki at the front desk. not the newest place, but clean and for our 4 day stay to move our kids to school it was good

Breakfast serving and atmosphere may need more friendly and on customer focused approach.

It was overpriced for the amenities.

It was just ok. Nothing fancy...clean enough...just ok if you need a place to sleep for the night. Wouldn't run back, but it wasn't horrible.

The place is conveniently located to where my training was, that was the primary reason for choosing it. Unfortunately, it was not convenient for me for the following reason: 1- I was put on the 2nd floor of the hotel wherein there is no one to help me with my suitcase, meaning, I have to carry it myself; 2 - the room was not really maintained as clean, i.e., some strong odor and stains on the sofa and beddings; 3 - there was no available disposable slipper (even if I have to pay for it)....but, at the end, as always - our body can adapt to anything so, I just adapted to the environment for my couple of days stay there. Moreover, I only need a place to sleep and keep my suitcase as I am away the whole day...Staffs were neutral but accommodating enough.

Enjoyed it immensely. Enjoyed the complimentary breakfast especially because we had commitments to be at early and it was so convenient, not to mention cost saving, to be able to have breakfast right there. Everything was comfortable and we would come back again.

Provided a clean room, pleasant service, and convenient parking at a very cheap price. I used this for a business trip in Boston and this provided me with what I needed and allowed me to save money. I wouldn't advise this location for a romantic getaway nor a nice family trip but it did the job for me.

Hotel needs serious updating, unit ventilators in the room are very loud, I unplugged mine in the middle of the night and I could hear the unit in the adjacent room.

I would easily recommend the hotel, the rooms were clean and well furnished, there was free internet and the price was great.

Hotel is older, and there is some wear and tear to the building...but, the rooms were great, the service was great, and the breakfast was better than what passes for breakfast at other hotels! The neighborhood was nice, but the streets were VERY confusing. Took us a few tries to get on the right track. Downtown Boston is minutes away, and the staff was very knowledgeable on Boston sights and such. Would definitely stay here again.

Do not come here. The housekeeper stole my phone and I still haven't been able to call the manager. I filed a police report. I spent two nights there, I left the phone recharging in the room and when I came back the room was clean and my iphone was missing. We even told the housekeeper not to clean the room beforehand. This "cheap" hotel cost me very expensive at the end.

This is a clean and comfortable hotel at an affordable price. The location is great since it is very close to downtown Boston and its surrounding towns. The only thing that I find is a little uncomfortable in Super 8 motels in general is the size of the bathroom. It is quite claustrophobic and there is very little room to move around. In general we had a pleasant stay and it met our needs.
