Super 8 Austin Downtown / Capitol Area - أوستين

a little walk from downtown. 6th street is 15 minutes. apart from that its fine and for the price is very good

I stayed at this Super 8 for four nights while attending a conference. The price was right for the location. The service was friendly. and the breakfast was good (I enjoyed the waffle maker and they offered fruit and yogurt as well as other popular breakfast items). There was a small swimming pool (that I did not use). Overall, I would stay at this Super 8 again.

Wi-fi only works right near the lobby office where the router is. Chances are if your room is not nearby you have NO internet. Also the shower would intermittently switch from hot water to freezing cold water in mid stream. Not necessarily a bad thing but there seems to be lots of people partying late at night outside their rooms.

It was ok except for the fact that the AC would not stay on. It would get hot in the room then an hour later the AC would kick on. The toilet also continued to run once it was flushed.

the hotel is not downtown as advertized. I was awakened twice at 3am by noisy folks....though the staff responded quickly and effectively.

If your looking for a clean convenient place to crash this is not a bad option. Keep in mind it is a 2 star hotel. So dont go in thinking it gonna be something its not. It is very close to the local nightlife so I wasn't surprised when someone who had a little too much to drink tried to enter my room instead of his. A quick call to management quickly rectified the issue. Staff was friendly.

It was right across from the super Drum and downtown. It is what one can expect for the rate. I stay in lower end hotels (rate wise) when I come to Austin once a year. It was as good as any I stayed at before.

About what you would expect from a Super 8

Stay there two nights. The first night was OK. The last night was no good. A lot of party youths making lot of noise most of the night.

Haven't stayed at. super 8 before but the convenient location to downtown Austin, and price swayed me. Overall we were satisfied and will give the pros and cons for other interested travellers. In favour: very convenient for downtown. Comfortable room. Easy parking. Helpful manager. Against: could be noisy at times (our stay was ok but became clear much depends on who else is there at the time). WiFi was free but signal desperately poor away from reception. We were in one of the closest rooms but unless you stood outside the door you got nothing. Overall it was good value and 3 nights was most we would want to stay. Breakfast was ok - you can't expect much more for the price and if you don't like it then eat out! For those wanting to go to downtown I'd advise to go to 11th or 12th street (easy and safe to get to) and walk along to 6th and turn left. We turned left way before that and the area looks very run down. But it was perfectly safe at night as long as you travelled up to 11th or 12th as soon as you could and then walked to the Freeway. Traffic noise was not a problem.

We arrived in town early and the rooms weren't available, so we asked if we could leave a vehicle. We were told we could not by a gentleman who was very gruff and irritated. Later we asked a clerk about local restuarants and she was very accomodating. The room we were in was very worn and the shower drained so slowly you were standing in water ankle deep very quickly. We only stayed one night and didn't shower til the morning or we would have complained. We were woke up at 3 AM by loud music playing outside our door and by people running up and down the stairs. NOT a good place for families!

Was awesome overall. Close to 6th street. Definately would stay here again.

The location to the events was great. Easy on and off from the freeway. Only problem I had with the hotel was that I was not given the option of first or second floor. Both the stairwells to our room were dark and musty and needed deep stream cleaning, but outside of this, it was a good place to stay.

I made my reservation for 5 nights but I left the hotel first morning.. This was by far the worst hotel ever I have stayed.. We couldn't tolerate it.. We checked in at 11 pm.. Reception was closed but through a very small window (like a prison) I could check in.. A lot of issue but in short Keep Away...

Pleasant, clean, and quite quiet, good location for the bottom end of town.

Stayed 3 nights and didn't even ask for maid service, so when I ran into lobby expecting the clerk/manager to allow me 30 MINUTES BEYOND CHECKOUT because the wonderful BBQ joint around the block took a bit long, the manager/clerk stated "well, actually..no-company policy". I have never in all my life of staying in hotels run into someone who cannot use his/her discretion to allow a nicety--when the hotel parking lot is empty and the maids clearly are not ready to clean all rooms at once. Well..to avoid paying another night ran into my room like a cyclone and gathered all my unfolded/unready items and threw them into the car. I forgot a very expensive pillow due to this action and do not consider this a forgivable action on the part of management. For the record, I have never complained about a hotel room and usually consider things quite passable when others don't. This was not about the quality of the property, this was about the quality of the service rendered. Thanks!

This hotel is well located for the downtown/capitol area - you can walk to 6th street in 10/15 minutes. If you want a clean, comfortable budget hotel in a good location this is for you. Unlike other more expensive hotels we stayed in during our tour, this included free parking, breakfast and internet access, which were more important to us than other hotel facilities such as shops and spas (although there is an outdoor pool). The only downside is that our (large) room did not have air conditioning. This was not much of a problem in March, but could be in the high summer period. Overall, we would recommend and stay there again.

This is a motel straight off the Interstate. Very convenient one way, but ... Slightly too far out of downtown to walk. It is in need of an overhaul - seriously. That said, the beds are clean and a decent breakfast, good size outdoor pool (very refreshing!!) and for the price, you cant go wrong. Good Dennys in walking distance. But to get to anything more you will have to drive. The bats on Lady Bird Lake are worth a drive - at dusk.

An affordable motel, within walking distance of Sixth St. and downtown. Although the building and rooms are a little old and rundown, my room was clean and functional.

Me and my friends came to Austin primarily to party in 6th street. The hotel was cheap, the room clean and the beds comfortable. It was no problem walking to 6th street from this hotel.

Great place to stay for a short trip! Price was extremely reasonable compared to the hotels closer to 6th street. this was very close by..only about 3-5 min drive away from 6th street! We would def book this place again if we are to go back!

We were pleasantly surprised by how conveniently located the hotel was to the downtown area. It was just about a 10 minute walk to 6th street, and saved us the hassle of worrying about parking/driving. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an affordable stay near downtown Austin with the convenience of being close enough to get by on foot.

The hotel did not look like the pictures online. But since we were there just to go to 6th street it was very convenient. It's walking distance to 6th street and the service is perfect. Would book this hotel again when I go back to Austin tx

Clean rooms, free high speed internet, free complimentary breakfast, clean pool, & great location for the price. Excellent value for your money. About a 10-15 minute walk to downtown.

Yeah, it's a bit older and shows its age somewhat. The location is perfect, though. About a 10 minute walk to the nightlife or Capitol. Parking lot is really small though. Will stay here again.

Clean, no frills hotel. Room is not ultra modern but efficient with all amenities one would need. Rate includes a continental-style breakfast. Staff very polite and knowledgable. Great value.

Watch your credit card....they will over charge you or charge you twice. My room had bed bugs.

The Super8 is a good choice if you intend to see the Downtown area - the Capitol, University, 6th Street.. The room we stayed in was rather small, not much comfort, but overall it met the standard of what you expect. The location was great, walking distance to the above mentioned venues. Enough parking on site for free, also free WiFi and breakfast was included. We arrived two hours prior to the posted check-in time. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to check in at that time. But we were allowed to leave the vehicle on the motel compound. The facilities could use some maintenance, but everything we needed worked.

while the hotel was right downtown and easy to get to it had roaches. the hot water did not work right. the maids were beyond loud. my car was not safe because it was keyed all the way down the drivers side of the car the first night I was there. I was not able to access the wifi. then the man the cleand the pool spent more time staring at me while I was going to the room more then he was cleaning the pool. When I reported all this to the desk personal she acted like she did not believe me, but I was prepared for that cause I gave her the roach that I killed. So that she could see that i was true to what I was saying. I would go somewhere else. Don't stay here.

Nothing fancy, just conveniently located steps away from Downtown. You just go across the freeway overpass and you're in Redriver St. Nightlife pretty much starts there.

We chose this hotel based on the fact it was cheaper and not too far out of town. But, we also chose it because of free wifi. We needed it to look up sites and book later accommodation & transport for our trip. Wifi was not working for 90% of our stay and when it did it wasn't working in our room or was very slow. Was a bit disappointed with this as it felt like they weren't doing anything to rectify the problem. Breakfast was better than expected but nothing special. We found out on arrival it was on the edge of a bit of a 'dodgy' area but had no issues. Not a bad hotel but basic and you get what you pay for (except wifi!?)

The hotel is very well located. You can see the capitol and downtown. In addition is quite new and clean. It is really a good option for whom is looking for something cheap, basic but with decent service and structure.

Well when i got there the front desk was to busy to check anyone in, when he did he took forever to do it and there was a line to begin with. when i got the room card only one worked and i had to go back to get a new card and when i try the new it still did not work. Good thing I only had to stay one night..... There way better places to stay then here.

Great value for the money. Clean, up-to-date room. Very polite staff.

When we first arrived to check in the person checking us in asked for my information and after that gave us our room key and told us the hotel room number pretty quick as if he wanted to leave already. I personally didn't take it as an offense. We got to our room and it was quite comfortable the only issues I saw was the parking got filled up quick at night, the pool was not clean at all but was cleaned on our last day there and you had to maneuver the shower to get warm water if you didn't you would get freezing cold or boiling hot. The hotel is walking distance from 6th street and we took a cab ride home both days and it came out to 4 dollars. Overall I enjoyed my stay at super 8 and hope to stay there again when we go back.

If you want a cheap hotel room where you can still walk to the nightlife areas in Austin, this is the place to stay. Fancy? No. Convenient? Absolutely. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel was nice it came with a microwave and a refrigerator- although the ref was not working or maybe it was not on/plugged in I didnt even bother to check for we didnt really need it. Overall we enjoyed our stay.. -Maria-
