Hotel Indigo San Diego Del Mar - ديل مار

Been staying here a couple times a year for over a decade. The gentle walk down toward the ocean to reach the cliffs of Del Mar is one of the peak events of the vacation getaway every time. Breakfast has become stale, but still free. The Breeze eatery @ mainstreet is another jewel of this Aspen by the sea village. Catch a beer at the Pricey Laberge next door.

Hotel in construction ruins the comfort that this hotel room provides. Also breakfast is pretty average

Simply put - Everything you can imagine was poor and unusable internet..........................

Very clean, comfortable, Everything you need in a hotel room! would recommend to anyone!!

Beautiful surrounding, nice ocean view. Though missing is a desk to work! I would still stay at this place as they have very friendly staff.

excellent location, view of ocean from landing newly decorated rooms free wi-fi but very slow connection

A nice Del Mar location and newly renovated. While still a lot of construction going on, once done, it will be a very nice property in a great location.

Construction workers putting up siding banged on the walls 3 out of 4 days I was there. Ice machine crapped out downstairs. Fan didn't seem to work in the toilet. Deck was stripped and had nail heads coming up to step on. Hot tub was a "warm" tub. Very comfortable bed. Pool was nice. TV worked. Nice staff -- friendly and accommodating. I was told this hotel was in the process of changing from an association with Best Western, and I was compensated for a portion of my stay.

I will not stay here again, Construction all over, difficult to drive around in the night to get to parking. Senior citizens have no help to claimb the wooden stair cases. This is not a typical Best Western to say,

This is a nice place...not fancy, but in a great location and very comfortable. The only thing I was a little disappointed with was the lack of a bathtub, and the lack of a desk in the room. Unfortunately I had to do some work while on vacation and had to sit on the bed with my laptop which wasn't ideal. Beyond that, the room was very comfy, clean and had a decent view of the ocean. It is a really nice location in Del Mar with easy access to I5 and the beach areas.

Very nice hotel, lives up to the other reviews. Watch out for ground floor rooms near the pool, they will be noisier than the others. Our room had a patio and a kitchen, and we enjoyed both. Any personnel we encountered were very nice. There is some construction still going on, you can see bits and pieces laying about, but there wasn't any disturbance at all. Very close to the beach and shops in Del Mar, easy access to grocery and freeway. I would definitely stay here agian. Oh, and they accept pets too.

The hotel is going through exterior renovations, so when it's finished it should look better. Meanwhile there are places where the stairs are all ripped up with wear, and so forth. Our room was perfectly clean, but it wasn't well furnished. The bed was comfortable but there was no desk, just a lapboard, and no dresser. The complimentary breakfast was pretty minimal, also - styrofoam cups only, no real butter - mostly variations on white flour and sugar. The room was quiet even though it was on a busy street, and the hotel is 2 blocks from a beach walk, which was nice. Overall, good enough if you get it at a good price.

I had read previos reviews and I felt good about going. There was a lot of construction, but the hotel management told us about it and they were not loud, so little disruption to our stay. The location is perfect if you are a walker and can walk a mile to lots of great restaurants. The room was cute and clean, which is all I ask for in a room in this price category. I was pleasantly surprized--and we had no complaints. It was a wonderful visit, and I would go back.

it was our second visit to the hotel, we were in del mar for the goodguys car show again this year. we were very impressed with the referb that is underway and hopefully coming again next year and look forward to seeing the resturant when that has been completed

This hotel was a nice place to stay, but there were some issues. The continental breakfast had no variety and was low quality. Had to watch out for moldy food more than once. The fruit was no good, and who really wants hard boiled eggs for breakfast? The room was nice-very roomy, nice kitchen area, large bathroom, and I loved the shower head, but they are still in the process of remodeling the grounds and the hot tub was closed the entire time we were there. :( The neighbor smoked in the room. Had to call the office two days in a row to get them to ask him to stop. The 'heated' pool was too cold to swim in. There was construction outside our room every morning at 7:00 a.m. But the beds were comfortable and the neighborhood was very nice, so at the end of the day, it was nice to come back and sleep (until the bulldozers woke us up the next morning at 7).

The Stratford Inn is a decent, reasonably priced place to stay in Del Mar, unless it's racing season (at which time the prices are jacked up to stupid levels). The rooms are simple, clean and comfortable. The location is great -- near many restaurants, and it's a great jumping off point if you need to do business or enjoy the surrounding area. Unfortunately, the end of the Statford Inn is coming soon. They're remodeling the place and turning it into an upscale spa/hotel. Just what Del Mar needs, right? Another upscale expensive spa/hotel. But in the meantime, if you need a decent room and aren't concerned about room service, the Stratford Inn is all right.

Rooms were updated and clean. The water was not that hot in the shower though it wasn't cold. Other wise, great location and great service.

Staff was great, inside of room very nice, but the location of the room was down stairs and looking out your window, you were looking at a stone wall. If we had known that, would have chosen another room , there seemed to be plenty open rooms. Just make sure your room has a decent view.

There is much that is appealing about the Stratford Inn: the location in Del Mar is quite nice, though on a busy street. It still is situated in such a way to give a feeling of privacy and peacefulness on the atractive grounds. We found it very convenient to things we did around town on our visit. The negative things, while nothing which caused us more than mild annoyance, still left us disappointed enough not to consider returning. As mentioned above, our room was very small and inadequately furnished. The bath was quite attractive with a nice quiet fan but the towels were thin and the bathroom was cold unless you left the door wide open most of the time, so as to be heated by the bedroom heating unit. The room entry was alongside another guest room, accessed by the same foyer. Our door was so thin or poorly insulated that anyone speaking outside sounded like they were in the room with you. Luckily, our neighbors were quiet at night. When they had family visiting during the afternoon, they had their door propped open while they entertained and my longed for nap after a tough travel day was out of the question. The "deluxe" continental breakfast was not very good. Their coffee is weak, their OJ is of similar dubious quality. They do have boiled eggs and fresh fruit which is nice, but they really have nothing there that indicates any special effort on behalf of their guests. Institutional would describe it well.

First the positives: the best place to watch a sunset in Del Mar is on the bluffs behind this hotel! Easy walk to reach them and the view is stunning! So pretty and makes for great photos. Inside of our room was beautiful, nice hardwood floors, great decor. Fantastic nice restaurants down on 15th Street where you can eat outside and watch the waves crash on the beach. We ate at both Poseidon's and Jake's and the food was OUTSTANDING! Everyone was so nice too. But here's the negatives: Heard a lot of outside noise when people walked by on the sidewalk. Outside of hotel was undergoing some construction and looked really dated.

We loved this place and will be back for sure very close to shops, dining etc. Our room was more than we expected.

The room was beautiful and quiet. It was more than we expected. The hotel had beautiful views of the ocean and a nice pool and spa. The staff was very courteous and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

del mar is one of my favorite places in san diego. it's usually (except during race season), quiet, quaint and beautiful. the town is clean, has nice surf, good food and is perfect for a little mini-vacation. the hotel was clean and comfortable, i feel like they made an effort to mimic a boutique hotel. the bedding was nice, down duvets covered in white linens, not that gross dna covered tapestry bed spread i typically associate with a best western. you could walk to the bars and restaurants but, not in high heels.

Every thing was great .It was loaded with kids but is yhat time of year

The hotel room was gorgeous and clean - it was one of the recently renovated rooms, still smelled brand new, and looked exactly like the photo on the website! The room and bathroom were absolutely huge - much more like an upscale hotel than what I'd expect from a "moderate" chain. The continental breakfast was served in a room off the pool, and had the basic muffin/cereal/toast selections but was good. And the location was great - we chose Del Mar to be close to La Jolla, but it was less than a half hour drive to Balboa Park. We read the other reviews that complained about the construction, so we called first, and were told that one pool was still under construction. The other (reasonably large) pool and hot tub were available though, and were clean and comfortable. Even the deck chairs were upscale - wood and cushions instead of plastic on metal frames. The only thing less than perfect was the noise level. Maybe its because of the spaciousness of the rooms, and the "beach bungalow" style (partial wood flooring, louvered doors), but sounds echoed - we could hear footsteps, water running, and toilets flushing in adjacent rooms. The location was quiet though, so unless you're very sensitive to noise, it wouldn't be too much of a problem. It was definitely worth putting up with to be in such a pretty room.

The hotel was easy to find and there was sufficient parking. There is quite a walk to the beaches, which we weren't expecting. Del Mar itself was a nice town and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, which were great. It is an easy drive to San Diego and we enjoyed Sea World as well as a day in the City. We were really disappointed to find that our pool view did not exist as there were only small frosted windows on the pool side of the room. The pool mentioned in the view was being renovated and therefore was unusable, as well as being noisy due to the ongoing construction work (starting at 8am). At no point did the staff mention this or apologise for it. There was quite a lot of renovation work going on, which is a good sign of a hotel making itself better, but this can be disruptive to guests, it was surprising that this was being carried out in late July.

I was in Del Mar to see family. The hotel fit my needs perfectly. The grounds were well maintained and landscaping was beautiful. The amenity level was very nice. The condition of the room was excellent. The staff was well suited and handled my needs and request' superbly. Location is a short walk to restaurants and shopping. Great beach less than 1 mile away. Nice value! Would definitely return!

We really like the hotel and location. Our only complaint is that we requested two queens and were given a King and pull-out sofa. When we asked if we could wait for a King ( we checked in at 12 noon) we were told there would not be one available. We have two teenage daughters and the soaf bed was uncomfortable. The hotel clerk said "that's why you shouldn't reserve your room on the Internet". I'm not really sure what that meant since we did request two Queens on the Internet. The refrigerator did not work and they switched it out for a new one. The breakfast was adequate and included hardboiled eggs, pastries, bagels, and pastries. We brought our dog and found the hotel to be very dog friendly as was the village and the beach near the hotel. We would stay there again and if using Hotels.com, I would call ahead to reiterate my room request.

great location for our beach experience

The Staff was very nice, the room was very clean. The pool was being remodeled but they had another one. There was no elevator to my floor. Overall I would suggest this place again!

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Remodelling is in progress but we noticed no noise. Our room was much improved. Great location great weather.

Hotel room was very nice. Recently updated and very clean. Staff very friendly. Exterior of Hotel could be nicer. They have major construction going on with their pool area although there was another pool within the complex that was available for use. Outdoor carpet on the veranda needs to be replaced. They may have plans to do that after pool area is finished. I think it will be very nice once that is complete. Great location close to the beach. More for adults and teenagers not really great for young children.
