The hotel was very nice. The staff were a little flustered having dealt with a large group checking in, but afterwards they were able to regain their composure and move on. I was impressed.

Great place not to far from tge city and shopping.

As mentioned in Reviews luckily, we knew it would be hard to find the entrance, so in our case it wasn't hard as we saw it up on the hill and used the entry at Staples (McD's works as well). We wanted to see Pittsburgh so we had the regret of not being in Pittsburgh despite the description. What they can control, the hotel atmosphere was terrific, coffee and lemonade all day/night, cookies for the kids, fitness center was good enough, room great.

Finding the hotel was a nightmare. It is tucked up in the hills somewhere behind a mall. The room was dirty and the vents were covered and overflowing with dust. I could feel and taste the dust in the air as I was breathing in the room. If that wasn’t bad enough, after checking in, there was a blackout for hours and the hotel had no generators to supply the rooms. No one came to check on us or offered any word as to what was going on or how long it would continue. That being the last straw, I checked out of this hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to ANYONE.

Very comfortable stay. Disappointed that EWTN was not among TV channels listed.

This was a very clean and professional hotel. I was apprehensive of the stay sue to other reviews, but I was quite surprised to see the facility. It was an upper scale hotel. And unbelievable price.

The room provided was excellent, but some delays were encountered at check-in, presumably because of a slow computer system. Depending on who was at the front desk, I received assistance ranging from slow to fast -- but the speed of service was closely related to how quickly the front desk staff were able to obtain results from the computer.

Your typical Holiday Inn. I had no major issues at all with the stay. The univent worked fine and kept the room at the appropriate temperature. The only thing I would even count as a distraction was it was loud when the neighboring room ran water in their bathroom. I simply closed my bathroom door and it blocked the noise. Very clean, TV worked fine and the shower was hot in the morning. Was a little disappointed the bar was closed on Saturday night by 9:45pm - (the lights were on in the restaurant/bar as well as the TV, but I walked in and nobody came to ask if I needed anything) The hotel staff was very nice and checkin/checkout was easy. I would stay here again with no reservations.

As a business traveller, my #1 issue is quality of the internet connection - and it was great. On that issue alone I would come back. On a slightly negative note - My particular bathroom was starting to look a bit tired (no soap holders?) and the heater seemed to be leaking water into the rug. The restaurant menue looked great - but nearly everything was disapointing (not terrible, but obviously frozen/microwaved for the most part. In general I have been very happy with Holiday Inn properties, but this one needs a bit of tweaking (not much).

Hotel has been remodeled a few times, but is in decent shape. The in-room telephone didn't work (my cellphone was nearly out of power due to storm outages) and nobody knew what to do. Eventually, I had the front desk place my calls. Hotel was advertised as being on the north side of Pittsburgh. That is true, about 5 miles from downtown, so a car is essential. The hotel is on a hill behind and between two shopping areas that must be navigated carefully.

Rooms were nice, walls seemed very thin could hear the television in both rooms on either side of us at night. Not a whole lot of night life in the area. Staff was very nice, entrance is nearly impossible to find on the first try.

Very good location on McKnight road with very close places such as McDonalds, Target, Starbucks, etc. Definitely very good for the price!

The hotel was nice and I would stay again. It wasn't as close to the stadium as I had hoped but it wasn't to far from Pittsburgh.

Hotel was fine. Mechanicals (heater) were a little noisy but we slept through it no problem. Some of the finish details are looking worn but clean, comfortable and convenient.

You can easily see the hotel from McKnight Rd. However, the turn to get up the correct driveway is difficult to find as there are no signs informing the driver how to get there. It's the 'alley' between the McDonald's and Chipotle. Not obvious at all.

Only had a few issues with this hotel. It is up on top a hill overlooking some shopping centers. My gps had difficulties finding a way up to the hotel. The area is highly commercial. The night I stayed there must have been a youth event because there was a lot of teens in the hotel that night. The floor that I was on must have been the girls floor. The adult that was in charge of watching the girls had to yell at them a few times but they settled down at a decent time. Overall it was an ok stay. Next time I will probably stay alittle further down the road for half the price though.

My only complaints are: the swimming pool was too small and the pillows were not thick enough. You had to use 2 pillows to prop your head up. Instead of items being delivered to your room, you had to pick them up at the front desk.

This place was awful. It took a while to get checked in, and once I went to the room, the hallway was blocked off by a baby crib. This was at 5PM - cleaning should be done by this point. I moved it aside and went into my room and it reeked of urine. The floor was damp. I'll let you do the math. And they thought this room was fit for a guest to stay in for the night.

I had two rooms reserved. 1 of them did not have the refrigerator or microwave. I was also told breakfast included. was given a voucher for $20 for only one of the mornings when I was there for two mornings.Service in the restauant was poor for the one morning attended. Only 1 waitress and no fault of hers to take care of that many customers. Buffett was very cold. There were 7 in my group.

The hotel and the room were pretty standard but the staff were the friendliest people I have ever met. Even the guys moving luggage and setting up for a huge party -- everyone was pleasant, professional, and welcoming. Now if there hadn't been a crying baby in the next room it would have been perfect.

The location had easy access to downtown Pittsburgh without the expense. We were able to attend the game and then do some sightseeing, along with going to popular restaurants. There were many restaurants and inexpensive eating places close by. The staff was very friendly. I will stay there again on our next trip to Pittsburgh.

Actually this was a pretty nice Hotel, the uptown area is only 10mins away, with a lot of things to do.... A lot to choose from as far as restrautants that are really close by. We enjoyed our stay, will come again.

Our tv didn't work and we were supposed to get a room with 2 queen beds, but we got 2 full beds, but we were too tired to look to change anything. Disappointed in that.

The hotel is good, decent-shape, could use a little renovating but pleasant overall. The front desk staff for the most part was amazing! Incredibly helpful when they found out it was my first time in Pittsburgh..Deborah was amazing! The only problem i had was with the morning manager who showed a lot of attitude, claiming I had not extended my reservation when I had called down to the front desk to do so the night before and gotten a confirmation from the clerk. She then had me vacate my room and move to another causing me to be an hour late for my meeting in the city. When I got back that night, it turned out there WAS an extension under my name and I therefore had TWO reservations. I had to talk to my credit card company because two holds had been placed on two different rooms and the system did not allow me to check in to EITHER room, leaving me stuck in the lobby after a very long day for over an hour. I understand mistakes can happen and the night staff was great at sorting out my problem but I was really unhappy with the way the morning gal handled my situation. Other than that, good hotel with a friendly staff and maintenance crew. A little far off from U Pitt and the city so be aware of this.

I found the room to be just OK. The decor was bland and the beds were not the best. I found some stains on the sheets that I am sure had been there for a long time. Not enough light in the room and the light switch didn't operate any lights. The hangers are those "anti-theft" kinds that fit into the slot which I find annoying. Didn't use the gym, but it is a simple room with a couple of machines, nothing spectacular. Arrived at 1Am and the clerk was there and able to check me in.

I stayed one night while I was helping my son move into University of Pittsburgh. I chose the location because it was next to Target and Staples (I had a feeling we might forget some essentials.) I will stay there again since it was clean, easy to get to and reasonably priced. It was a little hard to find the main driveway up to the hotel, but since it was clearly visible from Rt. 19 I didn't have too hard a time.

This hotel served a purpose. We needed a place to stay on the way home. Upon entering the hotel you could smell smoke and that smell permeated the room we were in, even though it was a non-smoking room. The room was smelly, the halls were smelly. Hotel is in a need of an upgrade. We booked with breakfast included but we were given a $20 voucher..not much considering there were 4 of us. Not the best stay but not the worst. I won't hurry back to this hotel.

we needed to be near pittsburgh, but didn't want to pay downtown prices. this hotel was convenient, close to restaurants and grocery stores, and was fine for our purpose

first room door nob was broken. we needed to wait pretty long line and finally raised voice to get switching to another room which door nob was out of battery and room cards were not working.... the acommdations listed on the webpages are not all available. pretty bad experience!

...but a comfortable and well-located place to stay for a night or 2. My only negative coment is from check-in where the desk clerk was marginally friendly and failed to tell us of internet connection how-tos, tell us our room number or location (though it was written on our key sleeve and pretty logical). Something besides "Sign here" would have been appreciated.

Had an emergency stay at this hotel due to a power outage. The hotel employees were super friendly to us. Ordered food from room service and the food was very good and fast to get there. The next morning at check out our hous still didn't have power and we wee granted a 2pm check out to give us extra time!

Convenient location. 15 mins from the airport with tons of restaurants and bars nearby. Room service was delicious. Very quiet, we couldnt hear our neighbors or any outside noise. Some mold on the ceiling of the bathroom but otherwise extremely clean. Staff was very helpful.

We enjoyed our stay. We were there for my sons graduation and the location of the hotel is wonderful...minutes from everything!

The only negative is the setup of the roads around the hotel. You cannot turn left out of the entrance of the hotel and that entrance was not marked very well. Overall the hotel was very clean, easy to find what you needed and the staff was very professional and helpful.
