the room smelled like puke, the toilet would not flush!!!, the tv was broken, also no remote for the tv. heat/ac not in correct working condition, old ripped up furniture in room, broken drawers in dresser. big stains on carpet, walls, celings...

I usually just need a place to sleep a few hours and get a shower when I'm traveling so I go for the cheepest room around but this room was worth much more. The room was very clean as was the sheets and towels. Employee's were very friendly as well. Great place!!

The hotel was clean, staff was nice. Good price. A little farther from the casino than I woulda liked but very close to everything else food, shoppig etc. the blow dryer in our room wa broke but the front desk provided us with another one.

Went to spend time @ the casino. The employees @ Travel Lodge were very polite and very quick to help. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend them to my friends.

Breakfast selection was very poor

My stay was fine, but when I got to Florida I discovered I left my small pillow under the covers. ( I use it between my knees after my surgery. When I phoned I was told it wasn,t in lost & found. So does that mean one of the employees took it.

overall for what we paid good we do not spend time in roomt there for pleasure close to everthing the room was better than expected the staff helpful and would stay there again shower was good towels very thin need more than one

We were pleased that the manager was able to help give us directions to our vacation destination. The short cuts saved us time and discomforts during the hot summer days most of the midwest was experiencing this June. Although we didnt spend much time in the room it was quiet and easy to get to. The room seemed a little small for the amount of furniture that was in the room. The cleanliness throughout the room was satisfactory. The location was easy to go to restraunts and access to the interstate routes . Parking was average.

The room was comfortable and more than adequate for our needs, but we requested a non-smoking room and it was anything BUT. Our bodies and the clothes that we wore in the room reeked of smoke. I have to believe the room was frequently used by smokers, as it was most unpleasant. It should NOT have been labeled "Non-smoking". There were people just outside the front door smoking up a storm when we arrived. The smell of their smoke was penetrating the hotel lobby as well. The continental breakfast was fine although there wasn't a lot of space in the area designated. The location was terrific for all needs.

Not bad if you need just a place to sleep for the night.

Happy, not a 4 star place but well worth the money.

The Travelodge was in a great location in Battle Creek. Located near gas stations, restaurants and shopping. Also located RIGHT next to the freeway. Not as loud as I thought it was going to be at night, but still a bit of an inconvenience. Staff was friendly. Rate was very good however. Can't beat the price.

I was in town for 2 nights and wanted an inexpensive stay. They had WIFI and a decent continental breakfast. This place was just fine if you are looking for a place to sleep for the evening. The front desk staff was also friendly and helpful.

The smell of the place is just awful. Turn on the heater and it blows the strongest smell of old cigarette smoke you can ever imagine. It was so loud that we couldn't sleep with it on and so cold with it off we froze in the room. We asked for an additional pillow and couldn't get one. The pillows on the bed were about the size of a wafer. Never to RETURN!

ok just if you are looking for a place to sleep

This place is poorly wired electrically, rooms are filthy and needs to be totally overhauled. I will never stay there again. EVER. I feel as though I should have been paid to stay there.

Room had an oder we couldnt get rid of. No elevator.

The TraveLodge was one of two hotels that had rooms available for the weekend. That should have been a cue as to what we would find. The hotel was not clean, our room was not secure (you could push on the door and it opened without a key - maintenance DID come and repair it, but only after I demanded it) and we found things that the previous guests had left behind. The rooms (they moved us from the initial room) smelled strongly of mildew, and noise carried between rooms and down the hallways. The best thing about the hotel was its proximity to shopping and downtown. The staff was friendly, but faces an uphill task managing a building that has seen better days, and with (likely) a very limited maintenance budget.

We arrived at the hotel for our reservations. We were assigned a room and given the door key. We opened the door and there was someone else staying in the room!!!! They assigned us a differant room which was empty when we went into the room after knocking on the door. The bed sheets were stained with what looked like k-y jelly satins (or worse!). The lamp shade is plastic and busted up. The sink in the bathroom is fiberglass and is cracked. The wallpaper in the bathroom is hanging off of the wall at the top. The bed i slept in had a "dip" in the center. My back was aching the first morning that I woke up after sleeping in the bed. The next two nights of our stay, I slept on the floor for more comfort. The bed my wife slept in was not as bad, but she was not comfortable because she said the bed was leaning and she felt like she was gonna roll out of bed. We will NEVER stay there again, and I could NEVER recommend this place to anyone else, friend or foe. Sorry travel Lodge, but this place is a dump in my opinion.

The window in our room was broken, with some pieces of glass missing...directly to the outside. Holes in bathroom door. Dump.

Considering the cost of a room, its not a bad deal. Beds are nothing to write home about, and there were only two very thin pillows on the queen size bed and no extra pillows available according the the person at the front desk. Vending machine had next to nothing in it and required exact change, so bring snacks and drinks. Breakfast is offered, but I didn't see anything other than cereal. There was a microwave and a mini-fridge in the room though. If your not looking for anything fancy, this place will do just fine. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, most within walking distance. I would stay here again due to the low cost, but thats about it...

Hotel should be shut down. Noisy and bad traffic through hotel at night.

After reading many negative reviews, I was skeptical of this hotel. We arrived later in the evening, and the night clerk was not at the desk. She arrived promptly when I pushed the buzzer. Our first room had no working lights, and nothing was plugged in to the sockets. I went down to the desk and was given the room next door. This time things were mostly plugged in, and it just took a little bit of work to get the rest working. The hair dryer never worked, but we weren't going to use it anyway. Our keys stopped working the second day of our stay and the other night clerk could not understand that I knew how to use the key correctly. Rather than come look, he watched on the monitor, then came and opened our door for us, stating that if we were going anywhere, we should let him know so he could let us back in. The staff wasn't overly friendly, but it's doubtful they put their A crew on nights. I will say that security was very lax, and that I never saw the outside door closed as it should be. We arrived back at 11 pm and easily opened the door, even though a sign said we would need our keys to open it. The continental breakfast was normal fare,and I only mention it because we used it. I will mention to avoid the Pizza Hut next door and walk down to the pizza place in the plaza next door. The staff was friendly and the food was excellent. Overall, the stay was average. In this economy you have to save money where you can, and this motel is a cheap route for visits to Battle Creek, however, you get what you pay for. It's not a "deal" only a cheap place to rest your head.

This was the WORST motel ever. In the basement-door wouldn't open-had to be repaired to get in. Shower would not drain-stood in 4 inches of water during shower- This place should be shut down.

We arrived at the Travelodge Hotel in Battle Creek to attend my nephews wedding that day. We were only staying over night and upon arriving athe hotel we had to wait for someone to check us in. When we finally checked in we immediate checked the beds and found stains on the covers. I removed the and informed the desk clerk who said she would inform the room attendant. Those covers stayed on the floor where I placed them and nver did anyonr come the remove them or honor our request for clean covers. The hotel is old and needs updating ie. furnishing is very old. I would not recommend this hotel or stay in it again.

I was happy with everything at Travelodge/Battle Creek! Good location, close to downtown, shopping, food. and Casino 15 minutes away. Everthing was decent condition but a little older.

Over all the stay was Fair the only two thing that I didnt like was the Maids stealing my return bottles, and bugs comming out under the structure outside of the building. It was close to some of the nbest dinning I ever seen and close to downtown Battle Creek. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying for a short visit.

At first glance the room was okay. We were not spending a lot of time in the room as we on vacation. There was NO HEAT in the room which we didnt realize until we were settled and about to go to sleep. The next morning, we were woken at 9:30 by someone knocking on our door to see "if we were still there". Then got a call from the front desk at 10:00 reminding us to be out by 11. When we tried to actually leave, we were locked in because the dead bolt was stuck and it took my husband almost 10 minutes to muscle it.

This Travelodge, however close to all the Battle Creek fun is lacking in the comfort area. Upon entering the room the lack of cleanliness was apparent. Then walking into the bathroom the housekeeping missed the previous tenants undergarments hanging on the back of the door; which were a little surprising to find. The lodge needs a makeover and or overhaul!! My suggestion is to spend a little more for a more enjoyable stay not at the Travelodge.

There was a plastic cup with chew spit in it on the dresser beside the television. When we asked for extra blankets and pillows we were told there were none. Not very accommodating. Altogether not a very clean room. The chew spit left on the dresser was just unacceptable made us wonder how clean the room really was and with such a shortage of blankets and pillows we wondered if the ones in our room were clean.

Sink and tub drain did not drain. They gave me something that was supposed to fix it, but didn't. Had to stop each shower 5 times to try to let water in tub drain. Phone did not work. They never replaced it to tried to fix it. Main lamp could not be plugged in to light room, so I had to leave the bathroom light on. The outlet in the bathroom did not work or supply power even after I tried pressing the "reset" button several times. There was no "do not disturb" sign. I requested NO HOUSEKEEPING at the front desk because my cat was with me and is afraid of people. Housekeeping knocked anyway and I told her DIRECTLY that I do not want service during my stay. Two days later I return to find her terrifying my cat with a vacuum. I asked her to leave twice, but she REFUSED to leave my room!. She insisted she was never told that I didn't want service even though I talked to her directly. To "make up" for the issues they said they would let my cat stay free. But hotels.com called for their pet policy BEFORE I booked and they were told that pets under 10 pounds are FREE **and** I declared my cat when I checked in and they guy at the hotel's desk told me that cats stay FREE! So in compensation for all these issues, I got something for free that was supposed to be free anyway!!!

THe room we were in had the noisiest window ac unit I have ever encountered. It also had a deadbolt that could not engage with the door jam and the other security lock was about to fall off. It also had one electrical outlet to plug in the tv, ref., microwave, wall light and coffee maker so you had to keep unplugging something to use something else. Also the sink dripped and the toilet kept refilling. All in all it was terrible.

Stayed at this hotel while going to the new casino. Its a good thing I didn't actually plan on spending any time in the hotel. The room was on the lower level, and was damp and musty. In the morning, our shoes/clothing were damp. Tried using the AC to get rid of some of the dampness, but it didn't work. The room just kept getting warmer. The door to our room wouldn't close unless we slammed it hard. The front desk/office area had a weird strong smell, both when I checked in and checked out. Of the 4 employees that I spoke with, only 1 was helpful. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and will not be coming back.

The Battle Creek Hotel needed to get some new bedspreads. Ours had 2 wholes in them. Also they needed more bleach in there towels. They were rather gray. Other than that it was as nice as I expected it and even had a fride which I did not expect. Nice touch.
