Very clean, modern and comfy beds! I had a suite which I thought was fairly large and it had a nice balcony. Staff is great and you can't beat free parking and breakfast! There are a ton of great eateries within walking distance and so fun walking in the neighborhood.

I loved the use of color, especially on a dreary NW day. Like a bag of tropical Skittles erupted - it was a rainbow of flavor for the eyes.

We stayed here based on the reviews and were not disappointed. The decor was cheerful (though not my style), the staff was friendly and helpful, parking was free, and the streetcar was convenient for getting to other parts of the city. The shops and restaurants on NW 21st and NW 23rd Streets were within walking distance. The free taffy was a nice touch. The only down side was that the breakfast, although ample, was nothing special. Would definitely stay there again.

The hotel was located in walking distance of so many great shops and restaurants and downtown/the Pearl (we walked but was also an easy street car ride). The hotel was WONDERFUL, a full kitchen in the room a nice living area and one of the most comfortable beds I have slept on in a hotel. If you are looking for a great place to stay in Portland, hands down give the Inn at Northrup Station a try. Don't forget to check out their lovely roof top deck, equipped with outdoor heater, BBQ and a lovely view of the sunset.

If you book through hotels.com you will not receive good service from the hotel staff, although you will get a better deal.

We only had one day in Portland but had an excellent stay. The hotel is set up like studio apts so actually had a nice small kitchen which could be very helpful for longer stays (though we did not use it). Portland is a small city so getting around is no problem and the streetcar stops literally outside the front door. The free parking was a nice plus. The decor is funky but in a nice way. Very convenient for the west side parks and easy access to the downtown area. Definitely would recommend this hotel. We were traveling with our son for college visits and the room had a comfortable sofa bed.

This place is a fresh approach to a hotel. The full-featured suite was so perfectly set up that if I were planning to live in Portland, I would have inquired about monthly rates. Indeed, I asked the front desk if the same company had anything like it in my home city of Seattle. Other reviews raved about the daring, lively, not-so-Northwest colors and design choices, and I loved them too. As a long-time Northwesterner, I was glad to see someone deviating from the tired Earth tones and shades of black that have infected the esthetic of the Northwest. However, the fantastic interior design was deeper than just the color; the layout, use of space, and choice of appointments was spot-on. My only gripe would be about the mind-blowingly wasteful Keurig coffee maker in the room (coffee used to create not much more than compost fodder until Keurig figured out how to make it as wasteful as the rest of Americana), but many people have been seduced by its supposed easy-of-use (as if making coffee was ever really that hard). In closing, for a breath of fresh air and an experience you won't get out of the big chains, definitely give this place a try.

What a refreshing, welcome oasis in the world of "meh" hotels. The interesting decor and great location combined with helpful staff, better than average breakfast and spacious rooms made it a standout. Hope my child ends up going to school in Portland--I'll surely be a regular!

A smaller and somewhat funkier (in a good way) hotel in a great location.

Having booked so far in advance I had forgotten that each room comes equipped with a full kitchen in the all suite hotel. A very nice perk when travelling with a toddler. We we able to hop on the streetcar whose stop is right outside the Inn and go grocery shopping at Whole Foods for some necessities. The kitchen comes fully stocked with pots, pans, table and silverware and cutlery. I was super happy it had a Keurig. Mama needs her morning java and nightly tea. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and inviting. I'm sure you're wondering about the street car going by... truthfully it only sounds like a distant roll of thunder and last for only about that long too. You and the kids will NOT lose sleep! The bed was very comfortable. I can't vouch for the pull out since we didn't use it but the couch portion was cozy. The living area very spacious. Two flat screen tvs. I forgot to mention they even have a extensive free continental breakfast and "Wine Wednesdays". All in all a wonderful stay on our first trip to Portland. The Inn at Northrup Station has everything we wanted and so centrally located I doubt we'll stay anywhere else when we visit again.

The hotel is in need of repair. Cable connection for TV did not work but was repaired the next day. Placed on first floor, next to parking lot handicap room. Changed upon request. No longer have free all day pass for streetcar. Staff very helpful, courteous.

If you plan on staying there be sure to stay on top floors. Squeaks were terrible on bottom floors.

We stayed for a week and found almost everything about the hotel to be nice! Only negatives we could find was no on location laundry and every morning some one in the room above us woke up at 720am and woke us with the heaviest walk of anyone ever! I think Sasquatch was above us! LOL might have been the floors but not sure.

Only hotel in the heart of Northwest Portland. Big, nice rooms. Overpriced, but you can't beat the location if you just want to relax and primarily stay in Northwest Portland and/or the Pearl.

I like the size of the rooms, the balcony and the color

The suites are roomy. The in-room kitchen and cooking facilities are the best we've seen. The decor is different and delightful. A trolley stop at hotel door makes it easy to go downtown. Staff was expecially friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was good quality. The free on-site parking was a big plus.

This is a quaint hotel in NW downtown Portland. I think it has been recently renovated. The interior is brightly decorated with bold colors. The rooms are large and clean. The hotel has some age on it but the interior decorations do a good job to hide this. They have free WiFi and ample free parking behind the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The free breakfast in the morning was very good with a sampling of local products. Bring a GPS when attempting to find this hotel if you are not very familiar with NW downtown Portland.

Great place. Funky and cool. Walking distance to great resturaunts and bars. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Portland.

We really enjoyed our four day visit to Portland and found the Inn's slightly out-of-the-way location to be, in some ways, an advantage. The neighborhood is full of good little restaurants of all kinds and the Inn gives away free trolley tickets with easy access to downtown. The rooms are large and comfortable, although the multicolor scheme in both the rooms and hallways is a bit strange. I realize that it's completely intentional, but it can be a bit disconcerting. Nevertheless, I wouldn't hesitate to return. Great value for the money and free parking.

Excellent, modern & funky hotel. Room was large and had all the essentials & more - the room also included a kitchen/lounge area. Free parking included - the staff even let us leave our car in the car park after we had checked out so we could walk downtown. The location is ideal in the pearl district - near loads of nice bars & restaurants. 10 min walk downtown - the area felt very safe (day & night). Highly recommended.

Great place! Love the decor. Wouldn't decorate my house like this but makes for a fun place to stay. Close to many places to eat and shop. We walked everywhere. Staff is very helpful, unlike some hotels, where directions are iffy.

I have never felt more comfortable at any other hotel. The inside and outside of the hotel was very visually appealing and extremely comfortable. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about must see sights and delicious restaurants. I love this Hotel and enjoyed my stay!

What a cute and cozy hotel! We loved the large kitchen and the funky decor. The bed was cozy and we had friendly service. I was very happy with my stay and look forward to staying there again!

Bed was comfortable, large rooms. The decor and bright colors were fun. Location was great- near restaurants and shops, loved the patio overlooking the street. Staff at the front desk was friendly- though some of their directions were a little off! Overall- it was a pleasant stay.

It was like going to Dan Draper's apartment in NYC on Madmen. 60's funky pulled off without a hitch. I would recommend this hotel to all. We walked to dinner and late night snack places every day. Quiet, safe, fun and beautiful, in a nice funky way. Well done.

We stayed here because it seemed funky and different. It was, in all the right ways. From the great kitchenette in our room to our outside balcony seating area to the rooftop gathering area and bbq, it was great. You catch the free public transportation just outside the hotel a block and you don't have to worry about parking through most of the downtown. The staff were very nice and helpful, the room and amenities were great, and in a nice neighborhood. I plan to come back to this place every time I'm in Portland.

What a cute, funky and fun hotel! Decor was so fun, the rooms were well equiped with a full kitchen, a very large flat screen TV as well as a smaller one, and the bed was very comfortable. The fact that the trolley stop was right outside was a great plus! Take the trolley to go downtown, but if you walk a fews blocks north to 24th or 25th street, and go left, there are tons of places to eat and cute shops along the way. It's an adorable area. I would highly recommend this hotel for both the value and the location. The staff was very friendly also. We stayed on the first floor facing the street (where the trolley comes by) and it wasn't noisy at all. Stay here and you will have a smile on your face! Can't wait to come back!

When we arrived and saw the big jars of salt water taffy and fused glass plates hanging from the ceiling, big smiles fell across our faces. Color color everywhere---cross between 60's flower children, Alice in Wonderland and abstract art--- Our room was big...bed very comfy. Kitchen outfitted w/ more than we'd ever need...loved the lime green Bodum toaster! Enjoyed it...only downside is this property is a remodel of an older hotel. So the insulation isn't great. We could hear the person above us walking all night long. If we return here, we'll request a 3rd floor room.... But we'd definitely go back. Great neighborhood for food and you can jump on the streetcar(hotel gives free tickets) right outside the hotel door.

This was one of the nicest hotels we have used for some years. The 50's decor was superb and the staff wonderful. A great start to our 3 week trip to Oregon.

My husband, son and I stayed here for one night. The room was way fun and funky with cool little details. The small kitchen was a bonus for chilling wine and making coffee. The location is way far in the Northwest neighborhood, but there are plenty of cool restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance. Also, you are right by a streetcar stop, so you can get almost anywhere in the city on public trans, which is a huge bonus. One downside is the breakfast set up which offers a limited selection and is set up in an odd configuration, making it difficult to navigate without bumping into other guests. Overall, a great priced option if you're cool with being a bit out of the way.
