(1) No Internet service (2) Wake up service poor; operator forgot to wake me up; alarm clock was hardly audible and also unless you have an Apple I-phone; I had to purchase an alarm clock during my stay (3) Rooms are arranged in a maze on the 3rd floor with no prominent signs...got lost first 2 days of stay

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Modern very much! Wonderful staff, great rooms, great location. Couldn't have asked for a better deal!

The staff was friendly and helpful. We felt close to the heart of downtown New Orleans but far enough where we had peace and quiet. the bars downstairs are great!

There was no shampoo in the bathroom. Rooms are small but very nicely designed. There is a nice courtyard outside the bar/restaurant which is lovely to sit and enjoy a drink. If you enjoy walking like we do, it is a perfect location. We walked to the river walk and to bourbon street. Even over to Frenchman! Lovely hotel but should improve on a few things.

When we arrived, they were really confusing regarding their parking options. I had called earlier to ask if there was self parking, they had told me no. They only had valet parking for $30 a day (with in/out priviledges). Then I find out there was self pay for $10 a day, but the garage for 2 and a half blocks away. There is an independent garage behind the hotel for cheaper. Also, there are meter parking spots (2 hours max) but if you sign up for an account with the meter parking company (instructions found on the meter), you can renew the 2 hours from your phone. This saved my boyfriend and I $80 for the 3 days. The customer service is pretty bad, there was a huge coffee stain on our blanket hidden underneath a sheet, the sink had a crack in it and the body wash was empty. the hallways are always blasted with AC so you feel drastic temperature changes. We asked for a DND sign three times before we got it. They also charge you a $50/day security fee that gets returned after you stay there. I see it pending on my credit card so hopefully it gets returned. The location isn't bad as you can take the RTA into the French Quarter.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and welcoming. The hotel bar was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the stay and would do it again.

The lobby, restuarant, bar and courtyard are quaint enviornments well maintained. The highlight of the hotel are those listed items and the location. The surrounding area has other restuarants, bar and museums within walking distance. The hotel room Service left much to be desired. They simply collected towels and made the bed. They did not clean garbage unless you left it outside at the door. The toiletries had to be requested because they were not replaced daily. I spend a week at the hotel and didn't require room service daily therefore on those days I requested it I expected it to be Clean!!! This was the one significant disappointment in my trip. By the way when checking out there was another couple who shared my complain with the front desk staff. I hope they remedy this because overall it is a very nice hotel.

Great hotel been renovated and is very nice location by tram to Bourben st not long should have stayed longer

The over experience was nice. A few things were looked over by hotel staff, like, room service trays being left in hallway for extended periods of time and a lightbulb was out when we arrived. With that said, when we called to request a new bulb and an iron/ironing board, the hotel staff responded quickly, within minutes. The location really wasn't that bad, and I knew going in that it wasn't in the middle of the hustle and bustle. But, it would be nice if there were a few more things go do closer by. Rooms were clean and exactly what I was expecting from the photos I had seen.

A very pleasant hotel with modern decor and friendly staff. Located outside the Franch Qarter but only a short walk away. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel was very nice and convenient to all of New Orleans. There are 2 street car pick up stops right outside the hotel which made it great for getting around. It is still not far from the quarter and a really nice walk through shopping and eating districts. The front desk situation seems very unorganized to me, they should definitely think about changing that. When staying at a hotel I like that the front desk is somewhere you can go for answers, when there isn't one it's difficult. Staff is really nice though.

This hotel is a great hotel overall. Competitive pricing and it is close to a lot of attractions. The service was a little slow when we called for extra towels and during check-in, but that wasn't a major problem. We will stay at this location again!

Summery; 7 visits to the front desk equal one room servicing minus pillow cases. Background; I have stayed at this hotel a few times over the last 3 years (it used to be call Le Cercle). I was at the grand opening 1.5 years ago, by accident, it was very nice a little boutique hotel in a great location. Experience; I stayed 3 nights; I know the area well, don’t require front desk interactions. Friday we had a late night and were sleeping in, we were woken by room service at 10 am. Upon waking and discovering we did not have a Do Not Disturb sign went and requested one. We were gone for 6 hours, we came back to a room that wasn’t serviced, and a used K-cup coffee and wrappers. I immediately went down to the front desk talked to the manger and I explained we found a K-cup etc. we came agreed that since there was nothing missing it was probably garbage accidently left in there from mini bar service. We ask the room to be serviced when we left in an hour. Went to dinner came back 3 hours late, room still not made. Next morning find cleaning lady get towels then head down to breakfast ask for room to be made with front desk. Breakfast took a long time, 1.5 hours, it was mother’s day. Go back to room, still not serviced. Go out for the day and ask front desk again to have room serviced. Come home to a CLEAN room, yay! Only problem they didn’t give us any pillow cases. Go out for dinner and ask for pillow cases. Come back Sunday night and have a CLEAN room WITH pillow cases

The room was small but comfortable & clean. The staff was very friendly & accommodating. Parking was extra. Pet friendly & great location for trolley I would recommend this hotel and would stay again.

I originally thought that the service here was going to be excellent. When I arrived I was greeted at the door with a friendly smile. I was handed an envelope that I was told contained two hotel keys. When I got to my room I discovered there was only one. I went back to the front desk and inquired about the missing key. I was told maybe it fell out somewhere and to have a good night. I was not ok with having a key to my hotel room lying around and I was definitely not ok with being dismissed about this potential safety issue. The front desk clerk appeared annoyed that he had to go cancel the two keys and create two new ones (this took him all if 90 seconds). Needless to say this was not a very pleasant beginning to my stay. The next couple of days went without incident. However, I had to call housekeeping for an iron and after waiting over an hour no one had come. I called back and it appears they forgot about my request but promptly sent someone up. The final straw was the day before my final day. Housekeeping "cleaned" my room which consisted of making my bed and removing the dirty towels off the bathroom floor. They didn't bother to leave me clean towels or put away the iron and ironing board. After a long day of conferences I had to wait on housekeeping to bring towels so that I could take a shower. I was definitely not happy! Overall I feel that this place is a reasonable place to stay for a very short stay but I was not overall impressed.

Second stay at this location, first since new management. Higher scores in all areas for new management but a few, minor details still lacking to rank +4 consistently. Such as room didn't have soap, had to request a hair dryer (twice)..... but overall well worth the price during Jazzfest (a premium weekend)

I stayed here for a convention which is about six blocks away. The rooms are dirty and feel dated even though it just went through a renovation. The floor in the room hadnt been vacuumed in what have been weeks. Walking barefoot in the room was disgusting. They failed to clean or make up my room by 6pm each night and when i called them on it, they sent someone up to make my bed but still didnt clean floor. The ac never worked properly. The staff was short and inattentive. I found the whole place disgusting. Stay at the Loews next time.

The hotel was so cute and quaint. My husband and I were given this vacation to celebrate out 3rd Wedding Anniversary. We had an awesome time and enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean, and the hotel was just awesome all the way around. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. I hope to go again and would recommend the Hotel Modern to everyone.

Over all pretty good stay, we had a problem but the management staff took care of it right away! Staff was very friendly and helpful. It's a bit out of the way of the sights but quiet at night, so a good nights sleep was easily had.

It was terrific. Everyone was incredibly friendly and they have a parrot named Scarlet.

Great service, convenient location. Rooms small but adequate.

The hotel service is great. The valet, bell service, and the front service all very friendly. Not the most computerized front. Check in and check out process is a bit slower. It's about a 20 minute walk to French Quarter but there are two street car stop very close to the hotel. For those who are more interested in Tour Bus or the WW2 museum it is just around the block. Rooms can be small but it is very cozy. The bathroom was fully updated. The bed is good but the pillows are amazing we wanted to take one. They offer umbrella's which you can buy.

I should start by saying the staff were very friendly and bent over backwards to help us. I had no complaints about the staff with the exception of one pleasant young man who took an hour to bring us our breakfast. Once the manager was on it the breakfast came out quickly and was good. The location is good if you don't mind the parking garage being 3 blocks from the hotel. As a single woman I don't want to be walking 3 blocks to retrieve my car. The other option was valet for $30.00 a night. If your not going to offer reasonable parking your valet fees should be about half that. My mother and aunt shared a room on the 5th floor that had no where to hang up clothes. I've stayed in many hotels but none without a closet to hang clothes. Our rooms had two beds and a TV . That was it, if you wanted to sit down your choices were the bed or the floor. If the rooms are small they need to offer them as single queen rooms and add a closet and chair. If you are on business there was no desk to sit at. The service was OK at best, our towels were taken twice even though we hung them up to reuse. They were not replaced and both times we had to call for towels. You may think I'm a complainer. THose who know me know I'm not. Please view this as constructive criticism. I paid $1200.00 to bring my Mother and Aunt to New Orleans on a special trip. While New Orleans was fabulous, the hotel was a disappointment..

the hotel is fine if you get a good price. don't pay high dollar to stay there - it's just not worth it. the a/c did not cool room off. i called for maintenance & they came quickly but it still never cooled room properly. the staff was extremely helpful & nice.

Most pleasant stay even though I was in a fun city and was there for work!

Hotel Modern provided an overall fantastic stay. The room was plenty spacious enough for two people, very clean, with a super comfortable king size bed. The bathroom was really big, with a huge & open shower, very clean and featured really nice bath products. If you're there strictly for French Quarter adventures, expect to do a lot of walking, as it's a solid 15-minute walk each way. We didn't mind that, as we enjoyed the quiet neighborhood around Lee Circle. We enjoyed being close to the historic museums, and also a quick bike ride up to the garden district. We loved that Hotel Modern had cruiser bikes for free use to hotel guests, of which we took full advantage to tour more of the city than we could on foot. And the restaurant on the first floor is fantastic - farm to table type vibe featuring local veggies, meats and seafood, and an amazing cocktail menu for the adventurous drinker. And all of this at a great rate. The only two downfalls I experienced, which were very minor: the front desk reception staff seemed pretty disorganized and don't seem to have a very efficient system for getting guests quickly accommodated or dealing with any kind of crowds; and the elevators are really slow.

The Hotel was a boutique hotel about a ten minute walk away from the River-walk and casino, Bourbon Street, the French Quarter, and all other major areas in NOLA. I wasn't impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel, or the room service in this department. When we first checked in, our bed was filthy-- and luckily, we were able to change rooms. Among other things, while they have a coffee maker in the room, they continually continued to forget to refill the coffee/ and cream and sugar, so every single morning I had to call and ask for these things (but still would not get either cream or sugar)-and I like coffee in the morning! On the plus side, the front door staff is very friendly, and willing to call you cabs and recommend places to go to. They have complimentary water/mixed drinks at the front desk starting around 3 pm, which was lovely! It's a laid-back place to stay and in a great location. Fair warning, they have three sizes of rooms, S/M/L- and the small is VERY small. It's a great place to stay if you don't plan on spending a lot of time in your room, but who does that in New Orleans, right?

I really enjoyed the hotel. It was very nice, right on the edge of the French Quarter and right next to the WW2 museum. I really enjoyed the aesthetics of the hotel and the room. My room was white with a lavender accent wall. Decorations were nice and it was well thought out. Terry robes included. A couple of very very minor issues prevented 5 star review, just some missing to detail. 1. My lavender accent wall had some green paint splashed on it. I was worried that it was something another traveler had squirted on the wall, but it did not come off with a wet towel. 2. Huge amazing minibar...but no price list. Through awful experience I have learned to never use the minibar without seeing the pricelist first. I could have called down, but I really didn't need those M&Ms anyway. Really enjoyed the hotel and would stay again.

We had a wonderful experience. The staff was very accommodating. Rooms were very clean, and bed comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location in central New Orleans in the ware house district near edge of French Quarter. Very knowledgeable staff. Somewhat unusual hotel (in a positive way. Very comfortable.

It was pretty cool check in staff was great I do recommend valet because parking in new Orleans is crazy but they helped us navigate the city and the rooms looked great when I come back I'm staying herr

Hotel has a nice ambience. The valet fee is high, although standard in NOLA. Very friendly staff!

Nice rooms, comfortable beds, friendly staff. It's right on the St. Charles street car line but still not a long walk to the French Quarter. They didn't clean our room the second day we were there but they offered us umbrellas to use when it was raining. Note: only valet parking is $30 a day. You can self park for $10/day.

My husbamd and I booked a room at the Hotel Modern fo just one night, a little getaway for the the two of us. We visit New Orleans quite frequently as my husband is from the area. I must say other than a shortage of clean towels we had a wonderful stay. The hotel was very clean, the service was wonderful. We do plan to return in the future!!!!!!! :-)

Arrived on a Saturday and was able to check in early. Was offered water when we checked in and my room was upgraded just bc. Had to call for an iron and ironing board the first day which came up in less 5mins and wash clothes the second night, which we never received. Trolley picked up across the street from the hotel which made bourbon and canal easier to get to. It's $1.25 per ride all day pass was $3. It runs continuously until 11pm which it then runs every hour. My boyfriend left his wifi and they gladly overnighted it for him. I go to New Orleans every year and have stayed and some pretty nice hotels but this is my top and probably my too choice and look forward to staying there again.
