It was great!

It was not very clean but the room was ok bad view

Went to a show at the garden. A short walk made it a sweet evening. Staff is very friendly and accomodating. Great food all around the area. Safe neighborhood, walking friendly. If you drive in, parking is directly across the street. I won't stay anywhere else!

The beds (two beds in one room for us) were narrow, and relatively soft. But we slept well. The morning breakfast is included, and decent, but not lavish. I would stay again.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay in New York. The hotel is perfectly placed to see all the main attractions and the subway is very close to take you further afield if you wish. The hotel is not mega modern and so looks a little tired but everywhere is clean. The room was spotless and attended to daily. The staff are very helpful, and rushed off their feet as the hotel always seemed to have a reception full of people. Breakfast is basic but the local area is full of choices from having a quick bagel to a full breakfast, and my was it full. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting somewhere to rest after a full day sight seeing. If you are wanting 5 star luxury, then you should go elsewhere and pay the price. This hotel was extremely affordable and perfect for our needs.

Overall the stay was satisfactory. The mattress may need to be changed - needs a new mattress - it was sagging - it was quite uncomfortable but linens were clean - the comforter may need a new one as well as it was VERY worn out and looks really old. I did ask some customers in the hotel and there complaints were the same. Thank you for asking our opinion. The continental breakfast was good

Room stained and bad condition sheets dirty and stained

Nice little hotel with accommodating staff. Only one small elevator so we were glad to be on fourth floor--could walk up and down. Clean and quiet option if you are arriving/leaving by train.

We are pleased with this gem. Although room is bit small, but sufficient for rest and the staff are very helpful. Breakfast is a bit rushed with limited choices.

Something was wrong with the heater. The room was a little bit to cold.

I was very happy of visting again new york. Stanford hotel offers a good relation quality price. I would return.

The room was very clean but small. The bed was ok but the room was very hot despite the fact that we turned the heat down as far as we could. THankfully we could open up a window but it was still not comfortable sleeping.

Overall the hotel was great. Very clean rooms and conveniently located. The staff was wonderful and friendly. Only two things to improve: The rooms were very hot. Our first room had AC, but the second one did not! The free breakfast could be improved too. Not much choice there.

Me and my husband stayed at this hotel because it was near time square and it was in Manhattan and we wanted to celebrate our anniversary. The staff was friendly and the room seemed very clean and tidy. THere's free wifi, as well. However, the bathroom was clogged, the temperature was always cold and they could never fix the heater. They had to bring a portable heater to our room because they could not fix the heater. Free slippers and toothpaste if you ask. It was an okay stay, but I had a great time because I was with my husband,

PERFECT for my needs - I took my college-bound son to a show and sent him off to college at Penn Station (Amtrak) the next morning. I live in Eastern Long Island and the show and the closeness of the hotel to Penn Station made the experience perfect-I will do it again every semester.

This was second time we stayed there,and it was excellent.Our flight was landed at JFK 6:40am and we reached to the hotel at 8am.but room was ready(maybe we told hotel about our flight time in advance).even room is not ready,hotel offer complimentary coffee,tea and cockies ,also free internet. Room is bit small but mini fridge,safebox iron,iron board are there.really comfortible.TV is not showing good sometime. conplimentary breakfast was OK. They offer bagles,apples,coffee,tea,orange juice so on. but eating space is limited,so if you go there around 9am,you have to wait on line.We choose this hotel because of location.Close to anywhere,and a lot of restaurant around hotel most of them open for 24hrs. We love Korean foods,so this hotel's location is excellent. We would like to stay there again!

Price was decent for the location, but the hotel and room was a bit run down. Big problem controlling the heat in the room--was like a sauna. Continental breakfast was terribly crowded and not worth waiting for a seat.

We choose this hotel mainly on price and location. It was in walking distance to all major attractions. The hotel is on the same block as the empire state building!! We walked everywhere!!! Very safe location and our room was clean! The lobby and cafe (for breakfast) is small. Free breakfast was just ok, didn't offer much but it was good quick for us. As we didn't want to spend our time eating.... I read many reviews for this hotel and the major issues about only one elevotor really wasn't a problem for us. The heat in our room was a tad warm but we opened our window when we first got there and by the time we came back later that evening it was fine. Also about 4 or 5 doors down there was a ice cream shop called Pinkberry... YUMMY!! Highly recommand stopping for a late night snack!! Overall I was pleased with our stay here and would book again.

We stayed at Hotel Stanford for the New Year. It was clean, friendly and helpful staff. Great location when visiting the city. I would stay here again on next trip to NYC and would recommend to friends.

room was clean & updated. good location

Great location, close to subways, shopping, all of midtown, couple of blocks from Penn Station. Courteous staff. Great price for midtown. Older property; reasonably well renovated. Continental breakfast very modest. Be patient with the single elevator.

I went for this hotel as it had good reviews & a good price. Its in a good area but very busy and the street is known as Korea Road. The subway is just up the road which was handy. I booked a double & twin, the double was very small but refurbished so nicely fitted out. Lots of wardrobe & drawer space but the room was next to the outside aircon units so noisy. The twin was much bigger but lacked drawer space and had not been refurbished so a bit tired, the bathroom was big. The bar/lounge on the 2nd floor was decorated nicely & served tea/coffee all day (they serve English breakfast tea and other herbal teas), but occasionally was told that it was booked for private parties so couldn't enter. Piano music was played all day and of an evening much livelier music, so no peace and quiet at any time. The lighting in the evening was minimal so you couldn't read if you wanted too. Service was good and food not bad.The breakfast room attached to the hotel was a let down. I know its not often you get breakfast included so thought this was a bonus but the food was the same everyday and quite often you couldn't get in there anyway. The seats were dirty and I didn't feeling comfortable eating in there. Also the variety of tea was minimal just Litpon. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would I stay there again, probably not, wasn't over keen on the area and the lack of a quiet area after a hard day sightseeing was missed.

Hotel is well placed just off Broadway,and very close to Empire State. Undergoing some renovations externally , lets hope internal renovations soon. Everywhere looks a bit tired, but hotel is clean . Breakfast very basic, and served in cafeteria like surroundings .just bagels and fruit ( apples!!) staff were friendly and helpful. Great as a base but don't expect too much . However free Internet was a bonus.

We made reservations months ago, for a suite with sitting room. 5 people.There was not enough room to move around with the cot. We had to exchange the mattress on the cot,the springs were pertruding thro the mattress.Extreme uncomfort.The sofa was awful,unless you sit up right and don't want to curl up and relax.Not having a coffee maker in the room was something I overlooked,taught me a lesson to read room details better. Every hotel I ve ever stayed in has one. It s age is showing.Nice bathroom,short on towels.Hair in tub.Chris in the bar...best asset.Lovely small bar area,friendly tender very helpful with information.

our second trip to the big A. Brilliant hotel free wifi, clean and also a free breakfast. Well placed for all the attractions. Can definatly reccommend

Location was perfect, smack bang in the middle of Manhattan. Hotel was a typical 3*, staff were friendly and helpful but the room was dingy (no natural light), air con didn't work and the bed wasn't the most comfortable, but it was clean and the bathroom looked like it had been recently redecorated . Free breakfast was good (although it got really busy in the small cafe and we had to queue one morning for a table - they charge $10 per person if you want to take away your bagel!! Also housekeeping got stroppy when we wouldn't let them in at 8.30am!

We enjoyed our stay at the Stanford Hotel, friendly staff, room cleaned daily, location ideal as near most of New York sights. Would recommend this hotel to anyone going to New York

Great staff. Had left a personal item behind which they were able to retrieve and post to me right away! Great location as well.

Cental location, easy walk to Times Square. We had a jnr suite, which was very comfortable and large. Only one elevator, which took a long time. Breakfast was in the ajoining cafe, and had limited seats. Very clean, and friendly, although staff sometimes had trouble understanding english.

Notices posted around the hotel indicated it was being refurbished - although there was no activity when we were there (for three days). Consequently, the exterior was not inviting, the lobby was small, the breakfast area very small (we had to queue each morning to get a seat), the one lift was slow. On the other hand the room was reasonable: clean and tidy - and amazingly quiet. The location is on Korea Way and very close to Herald Square, subway and PATH. However, considering the price we were disappointed and would not go back.

The hotel is old and run down. Only one lift worked and was very slow. The light in the room is only a lamp so very dark. The hotel porters were extremly helpful as we had lots of luggage and they helped us up to our room and minded our bags for a few hours after we checked out.

Basic room with queen bed, good size bathroom. TV was out of the 1970's.

Walking distance to attractions like the empire state building, 5th avenue and times square etc, really close to the subway station. Free simple breakfast. Hotel is a bit small but clean and comfortable, friendly staff. They have a private fixed rate taxi calling service, costed us $65 direct to JFK, took us over 1 hr though as we were stick in traffic (4:30pm Friday afternoon) but overall, it's really good value for money and would stay there again.

We booked a junior Suit for 5 people (including 2x13 yrs children) and received 2xdouble Bed with no folding, rolling or Sofa bed. When asked why we have not given one missing bed was told you should pay for extra bed! If they during booking it is asked the number of occupant and age of children why not including sleeping bed for all guests? It costs $30 per night for extra bed which was unjusted in my opinion.

Staff friendly and extremly helpful. Having stayed there for a week at beginning of trip, we were unable to book our last night after returning from East coast and stayed further down street. Not impressed with that hotel!!. The Stanford staff were able to assist us with storing our luggage for the day and booking us on a shuttle bus to airport for which we were grateful. Would stay again and recommend. Great location, reasonable price.

Hotel was undergoing remodeling during our stay and only one elevator worked. Other than that, I would stay there again. Convenient to most area sites.

I have no idea what other hotels.com guests were seeing when they rated this a 4.0. The room was not clean and outdated. The hotel has one old rickety elevator for 14 floors. I would not recommend this place to anyone no matter what.
