The website stated that the room would have a double bed, instead it was two single beds that had been pushed together... Because of the bed frames the beds had a gap of about three -four inches in-between which makes any type of romance near impossible without breaking your back. The room had a very old musty smell, and the carpet was stained in several places. The only good thing is that the hotel was dead quiet at night, but that might be because no one else would stay there... To top it off the hotel is smack in the middle of the red-light district; it recommends this hotel as family friendly, but I have no clue how that is possible. The staff was friendly enough, regardless I would not stay there again.

I had no problem locating the hotel. The bus and the train is conveniently located close to the hotel. My stay at the Alden was great. My only issue was the shower, too small. However, the water pressure was the best I' ve ever experience in a hotel

For sure it is not a luxury hotel. Anyway if you are looking for a conveniently located budget room and a good buffet breakfast, it may be the right choice.

Hotel was good. Service at front desk was fantastic! Surrounding neighborhood was not what I expected, was a little negative. Breakfast was very good. Bathroom was super, super tiny and shower temperature was not consistent at all. Room sizes were very good but furniture needed updated! Beds were comfortable but pillows were terrible, need relaxed.

This is hotel is in a great location. 2 minutues walk from Bulow Strasse U2 line. Also near the bus lines M48 and M85 direct to Potsdam platz and Alexander platz. The hotel is just somewhere to sleep. It has no bar or restaurant, only a breakfast room. But there are bars, fast food, supermarkets and restaurants very close by. Very friendly staff. Free safe deposit box in the room. Bathroom was small but modern. Also good quality in room wifi which is also free. Excelent value for money. I didnt have breakfast.

This hotel was amazing, seriously! the train stop is RIGHT ACROSS the street and it takes you STRAIGHT to Alexanderplatz and to all the connecting trains that will take you to the city center...which is REALLY CLOSE to this hotel...breakfast is AWESOME!!! I definitely recommend this place to everybody! I cannot say enough about it, seriously.

I stayed at Aldea for eight nights, and was very pleased. The staff was helpful in German or in English, and the room was comfortable. No laundry available at the hotel, and only a laundry service is in the immediate area. Breakfast is decent, but probably not worth the extra cost if not included. Very close to the U-Bahn (subway), but also in a red-light district. In all, an excellent value.

Does what it says on the package depends what you want.If you want to spend a lot of time in the hotel don't book this one but ideal for transport links if you want to see the city and plenty of eateries near to hotel.We didn't have the breakfast as we are not big eaters but there is a great little Turkish cafe around the corner breakfast worked out at six euro for the two of us.If it bothers you to see working girls at night then this is definately not the location for you however we felt very safe

Nice affordable hotel between Kudamm and Potzdammer. Walking distance to branderburger tor, about 45 min, but close to sub way stations. Clean rooms. Recommended.

I would recommend others to stay at Aldea Novum Berlin Centrum hotel. I've enjoyed staying there. it just 1-2 minute by foot to the nearest U-Bahn station, which takes you wherever you want to in the city. the staff is very helpful and polite. and as far as my experience is concerned, I felt the hotel prices is pretty cheap, and the service you get for that really worth it! the rooms are also very clean and comfort, and being cleaned and re-tidy every day. No complaints at all!

Hotel excellent for stay for Film Festival. Well situated,, between Bulowstrasse & Nollendorfplatz U-Bahn, for access to most areas of city. Clean & warm room.

Location of the hotel was very good, right next to the U2 station, nice places to eat nearby, rooms are large, clean and light - and very warm even when -15c outside, all necessary was found in the room. Beds (and all furniture) were not the best, but good enough for a few nights' stay. Breakfast was definitely worth the price, nice staff. Not for someone looking for luxury but perfect for economy class travellers!

We booked this hotel and asked as a preference in the form to have a non-smoking room, but look further into it and you find out that all the rooms in the hotel are smoking rooms, so if you don't like the smell of smoke, either don't book this place, or go there packing febreze or whichever kind of air freshener/cleaner you want. We walked into the room and I've got to be honest, we were shocked with how strongly it smelt of smoke, as if someone had just been there smoking about 30 cigarettes in a go. But anyway, we opened the window, the curtains were the worst culprit, next day I went to the supermarket at the Zoologischer Garten station and got a can of febreze and when we got back to the hotel that sorted it out a treat! But enough of that, the hotel itself is quite nice, for the price i consider it amazing! the smell of smoke is a small hurdle when you consider the price and its proximity to a U-Bahn station (Bulowstrasse) The beds are comfortable, even though the information said it was a queen size bed, it was in fact 2 singles next to each other, which we preferred anyway. The shower was incredibly powerful! The thing could move by itself like a firemans hose! The TV was beyond its use by date, CRT TV and the high pitch noise from it was so loud when it was on it was irritating to watch television, as it's Germany, if you can't speak German then you can't understand anything because they dub anything that isn't German so for us there was no real point, but we do like to listen to the language that surrounds us. But thats not important... I know that due to the price you won't be expecting them, but their aren't any complimentary papers/magazines or shampoo, but if your stuck then there is a container above the sink which according to the label doubles as hand wash and shampoo. We had a comfort room, the room itself is the biggest hotel room I've ever been in and also had a sofa bed in the corner, no mini bar, but did have like a cloakroom area opposite the s

Hotel was good value for money,is well located near train stations and restaurants shops etc.Area between train station and hotel a bit seedy late at night with lots of hookers touting for business but apart from that would recommend.

The staff was very accommodating and friendly.

Located right across the street from U-bahn. Parking was available for 5 euro per day. From that ubahn station we were able to go everywhere. We had young kids (9,7,5,3, 12 months) and had the family room (4 beds); plenty of space. It was what we needed it to be.

A really nice and clean hotel. Friendly and helpful staff.

I would highly recommend this hotel - it is centrally located right at the Bulowstrasse U-bahn stop. It was clean and quiet (I asked for a room away from the street as the hotel does face the U-ban tracks), with tons of restaurants, grocery stores and a bakery right down the road. It is 3 stops from the Zoo train station where you can change to the S-bahn system and catch trains to the main train station. Comments about the prostitutes are overblown - 1 major block away on Kurfersenstrasse is the old red light district, and they do drift down toward Bulowstrasse, but they do not bother anyone. For the price it was truly a travel bargain.

Warm clean quiet and comfortable rooms at very good value rates in central area with numerous local shops/services. 2minutes walk from Bulow Strasse U2 line station serving useful tourist areas. Friendly and helpful staff.

Very nice location, easy access to metro. The bed is too soft, didn't sleep very well, otherwise very clean and well equipped. The surrounding area of the hotel at night has many sex workers, but they don't pose any danger. I would choose the same hotel if I had chance to visit Berlin again.

Cleaning of the room was ok, but cleaning of the showers was not very good. The people that worked in the reception did not smile very much!

Good location on the edge of Berlin City Centre. Two minutes walk from the U-Bahn station and major bus routes to Potsdam Platz. Very helpful and friendly reception staff. English is widely spoken. Clean and tidy spacious room. Good power shower. Hotel had been decorated since I last stayed. Wide selection for breakfast. It is one of my favourites.

Very friendly staff. The only negative thing where that an old smell of smook from the carpet, i think. God bathroom, very good location. Nice price.

The hotel was very good price performance. Breakfast was not included in the price, but 7.50 for adults and 5.00 for children was OK. I checked parking, and 8.00 is also OK. The area is a bit "sexual", but that did not bother us.

The surrounding area is not child friendly, as there are beggars and street walkers right outside the hotel. The staff are great, friendly and polite. Second time I have stayed here but not the last. :-)

While location was quite central, i felt that the hotel management could have emailed to say that local train station is closed just as information for clients. Had to take circuitious route a few times. Overall great stay in great city

Hotel Staff was really helpful and reception was open 24 hours so if there ever was a problem there was always help close at hand. Employees of the hotel spoke English which was brilliant and very convenient! The room was spotless (tripple room) and spacious with a safe included. However the bathroom was quite small for three people sharing but it sufficed. The bus stop was located just a 2 minute around the corner and dropped you straight into town. Buses are really frequent and very easy to navigate and determine your way around the city. Everything you needed was located in close proximity to the hotel supermarket, chemist, restaurant, bank-link, off-licence etc. The hotel was a little bit outside the city centre about 6-8 minutes by bus but taxi prices are very reasonable if you need to be dropped anywhere. There was various females that would linger just up from the hotel at night. This surprised me but they did not cause any hastle to us whatsoever. It may be unsuitable for families with young children so be advised.

It was quite enjoyable. I would recommend this to younger and more adaptable generations. The hotel is great, its the surroundings. Otherwise very convenient and an overall comfy stay.

I had a 1 night layoff in Berlin, so i wanted a hotel that was affordable and near a metro. This hotel fit the bill. In addition it had free wifi in the room which seemed to be rare in some other hotels. The hotel was about a 3 block walk from the metro which is convenient. Some reviews said the neighborhood was shady at night, but i did not get that feeling, however I am male from NY so I am from a big city and have seen shadier places. The room was clean and basic and the staff were nice. There were a few restaurants down the street to eat if you do not want to eat at the hotel. I would recommend it is you want a decent hotel at an affordable price that is close to the metro and has free wifi.

I had a very enjoyable stay at Aldea Novum Centrum, for the second time this year. I would be happy to stay there again...very good service, ideal location. I would be happy to recommend the hotel to all travellers to Berlin.

Very centrally located, very clean, comfortable, friendly staff, simple, all good.

The hotel is very good and in the centre of Berlin, making it easy to visit many attractions. The only thing that I didn't like is the internet service which was not that good. I had to go to the lobby and still the signal is week and it takes sometime to sign up.

The nearest metro station was closed recently. We have to walk for a relatively long distance

For the price, I couldn't ask for more. Kind, clean and good. Will come again if I ever go that way.

Everything was great except that there was no AC. Breakfast was good and there was a lot

This hotel was basic, but considering the price we paid. it covered everything we needed. The room was a decent size and there was free wifi and inclusive breakfast. Our only issues were with finding the hotel initially given the non intuitive way the street numbers ran (where numbers 80-90 are opposite numbers 10-20 for example). A decent hotel for an overnight but no particular outstanding features to recommend for a long stay.

Very friendly people at the reception and the room offered all necessary conveniences for a short city trip. The "girls" in the streets did not bother us (a family of 5 with small children) at all. Even though the bathrooms were a bit small, our next stay will certainly be in the same hotel.
