Very satisfied

I had a fantastic time at this hotel. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Most of them spoke excellent English. I enjoyed the pool and the grounds are kept beautiful. The rooms are very modern and clean. The rooms are perfect for getting a good night sleep because it is quiet. The windows have a thick shade which makes the room dark in the day time for sleep. This is a 5-star hotel in my eyes. I could not have expected better. Thank you for your generous hospitality.

Sometimes in Latin America older hotels often get run down and ultimately get that 'dated' feeling. It was a pleasant surprise that El Embajador has avoided those pitfalls and remains truly an elegant and comfortable experience. The rooms are huge, including walk-in closet. I think the only drawback was the rather average food at lunch and dinner in the main restaurant.

Beautiful relaxing pool area, great for lunch or swim or lounging. Buffet Breakfast lovely. Friendly staff would go back again.

The smell in the lobby was unbearable. And my bed was broken as well as we had to switch rooms 3 different times at check in.

Great hoteal at a great price!!

Only the Front desk was not super nice, otherwice a great hotel a for that price...just go!!!

Your new policy of charging excessive fees for local phone calls is antagonistic and unacceptable. As a frequent guest at the El Embajador for over 40 years, I willnow find another hotel to show my loyalty.

Everything was ok, but on the first morning at 7:00 the mini bar employee open the door without call first, luckily my friend and I were dressed. I complained in the front desk and they closed the mini bar all the stay, so we didn't have the service of mini bar. The breakfast buffet was great. The front desk service employees were arrogant and they didn't have good manners. The room was clean and spacious. The pillows were very hard. There are many restaurants near the hotel.

It is a great hotel for business or to see the sights in the Colonial Zone.

The hotel is centrally located on walking distance from Restaurants and shopping mall recomended only during daytime. The service from staff is excelllent the rooms are clean and recently painted. Gardens are well maintained. I had a very pleasant stay the only complaint is that I had to pay for the parking .

You won't find a better deal in a more convenient location - it's a grand old hotel that still operates well.

This hotel is a bit old but it has its charm and a beautiful garden/pool. Even though I was traveling on business I was very comfortable. The room was clean and had all the amenities required. The hotel staff provides excellent service. There was a great driver that took us everywhere without having to worry about anything, he is part of the hotel staff and his name is Valdes ask for him when you need a car and he will make sure you are taken care of.

Very nice hotel very convenient.

El Embajador has seen better times. It needs urgent renewal. The rooms are large, but the bathrooms small. Insufficient lightning in the room. Worn down pillows.Breakfast is not very good, mainly because of the poor quality of ingredients used. Poor price /quality ratio. There are better deals in town.

This hotel is a "mixed bag"! They are renovating rooms at this time and the new rooms a very nice. There is a little hammering at 8 AM, but really not bad! Mostly painting and finish work. My wife and I found the food in the hotel to be very good overall. The staff is very polite and helpful. Someone needs to get a handle on the housekeeping staff however. They forget towels in your room, toilet paper, coffee,etc. and if you call for them, they never seem to arrive. All in all, I would stay here again, however they would do well to hire some talented management at this place.

This was my 5th stay in Santo Domingo over the past year and my first stay at the Occidental El Embajador. I will stay here on my next trip. The pool aria is wonderful, the dinning great and most of all the bed was very comfortable!

This is an old hotel but well maintaned. The biggest problems we had was getting service in English, even at the front desk. The Business center cause problems in sending faxes and we were given a Taxi which did not have the address we provided to the Hotel. Other than that our stay was pleasant.

very nice clean hotel ,, the food is little pricy , the gym can use more eqiepments ,, but after all its great place to stay & feel safe .

It was a very nice hotel with all the luxury accomodations and a great price. The only flaw was that we had to pay for parking while we were there. If your a guest there you should not have to pay for parking. Other than that it was very nice! Recommend.....

Super

The Hotel is old and has problems. The AC is very noisy as the 500 birds that sleep in the threes in front of the Hotel. The mattress was very worn out and the combination of everything made sleeping almost impossible. The rooms a nice and big they only need to update everything a bit and it can be a good place again.

quality place, great pool, a bit out of the way, be prepared to spend lots on taxi. a shame the fitness room is in shambles.

este hotel apesar que es muy viejo, se encuentra en muy buenas condiciones, la alberca es grande y limpia así como todas las cosas en el, le hace falta algunos detalles como por ejemplo, que las recamareras no están molestando cada 2 horas, pero en general el servicio es muy bueno

hotel muy agradable... lejos del casco historico lo que obliga a gastar en taxis si uno quiere buscar un poco de animacion por la noche o simplemente ampliar la oferta algo limitada del hotel para cenar...
