The hotel sign made me think that I was in for a horrible experience....an old hotel-needing to be retired! BUT! I had the most enjoyable stay! It was very...VERY clean and had some trimmings of being an upscale property! I would definitely book there again!!!

Although it is in a decent location, about 12 minutes away from downtown, yhe whole hotel sends off weird vibes. The entrance and lobby doesnt look like a main entrance. It's very dark and cramped. The decor is too forced. The elevator has red dyed cowhide wallpaper and one wall has scratch marks down the hide, and there are many stains and scuffs throughout the entire hotel. The shower was also very filthy. The staff was nice, however, after calling the front desk about 10 times someone finally picked up, I asked about their "pillow menu." They said the were out of "neck pillows" so I asked for at least firmer pillow (because the pillows we were given to begin with we're very old and worn out) I was told he would call me back and let me know of any were available.... I never got a call back. The walls were also very thin. To sum it up, the hotel sent shives up my spine. Way overpriced too.

I have stayed at the Preston many times over the past 4 years while my child was a University student. I like that the hotel is not too far from the airport but even closer to the University area. The hotel has a good size pool and a nice,small workout room. The rooms are stylish and comfortable. The Nashville music memorabilia that decorates the entire property makes me feel like I am on vacation in one of the greatest cities in the U.S. The price on Hotels.com is almost always the best deal for comparable hotels in the area.

Nothing terribly wrong with the hotel. I'm just not sure we would stay there again.

The Hotel Preston was very nice. Centrally located. A little out of the city but at more than half the price. Great staff and clean rooms. Pet friendly. I have never traveled with a pet before. This hotel did not smell like animals and was very accomodating. The guy in the room next door had a large dog and we had a small cat. I would stay here again in a heart beat.

I highly recommend the signature chocolate cake.

Great location,shopping,dining,nice atmospher at the hotel..rooms were great and clean i wil make it my place to stay everytime I'm in Nashville.....

The hotel was beautiful and had unique décor. The Pink Slip Lounge was fun with live music and dancing. It was about 10 minutes away from downtown Nashville, Belle Meade Plantation, and Music Valley. The only negative thing I would say is that the room doors are very loud and must be slammed in order to shut.

We stayed at the hotel for the convenience of it being so close to the airport (literally 3 minutes away). It is less expensive than the downtown Nashville hotels, yet it still quickly accessible to all the venues that downtown has to offer. Our room was on the 9th floor, and was high enough up to not hear the band that plays downstairs until the early morning hours. Room was quite spacious except for the bathroom, which was extremely cramped and tight quartered. Shower pressure was minimal at best. Plenty of parking (no charge for that). Overall, it is an above average hotel at a decent price.

Very friendly staff, Denny in particular. Old hotel so has some cleanliness issues like stains on carpet, but not dirty. Comfortable bed. Close to downtown nashville, about a 15 dollar cab ride. Good location, right off of expressway. Good hotel for cheap.

I really like Hotel Preston! Good locations, cleanses, and good live! I stayed Friday and Saturday, Pristonvhad live both night. I really enjoyed. I will stay this hotel again.

I have stayed at this hotel before and will continue doing so. This time we had a minor issue with the bathtub drainage. However, the staff quickly addressed the problem. I recommend this place.

Nice. Right off the exit. If you're not from the area or state like we were, its hard to find things. You have to drive a few miles down the road before you find any food or any civilization. The hotel was cool. A few of the lights on the hotel building could use replacing to actually light up the entire sign. When we got there the first night the sign said, "Ho el Pres on". The staff was nice and the room was spacious and nice. The air conditioner was leaking water so about a foots length in diameter of carpet around the unit was damp which if not fixed could lead to mold. The bathroom was very nice with granite countertops and the shower head was awesome. Very nice and smooth water flow. The shower stayed hot and never got cold. The bed was probably the best thing. Very comfortable. The hotel is nicely kept, but def. has a 70's horror movie vibe to it like something from the shining. I loved it though and for the price, I'd stay again if in the area.

When checked in we were not asked if we needed help with our luggage. We needed a luggage cart to help with our bags and never received help or the cart. When asked about local places to eat at 9:00 we were told about fast food chains. We had reservations at Pucketts grocery and asked about the establishment and was told they didn't know but did not offer up any additional help. Very complacent. Wrong person to have as guest services.

Great location for airport access, room furnishings are dated and bed was next to terrible. Room and property were clean.

The pictures on their website are very deceiving. I'm sure at one point this was a very nice hotel. However, it is actually pretty run down. The room was small and there was a door connecting our room to the next room that just seemed awkwardly blocked by a chair. There is no breakfast, refrigerator, or microwave, which would have been nice. I also wish the bedding would have been more comfortable.

Stayed many different hotels during thugs trip that were double the price! This hotel was better than them all put together !

hotel could use a facelift, room was clean , staff was helpful

The stay was overall good. I had no issues checking in or out and the room was clean and met my expectations.

The facilities were average in general. NEGATIVES: Our standard king size bed was a bit springy, some sand or mineral of some sort was in the sheets, but no bed bugs! Quality of the T.V. was poor, very fuzzy and smaller than most hotels now a days. A low to the ground toilet, loose shower head that had weak water pressure would lead us to grade the bathroom a "C". POSITIVES: The A.C. unit worked very well and the storage space was ample as we had a room at the end of the hallway #820. The hotel driveway was excellent, very spacious and well covered for multiple vehicles to pull up and load/unload (NO VALET but ample free self parking close to hotel entrance). Free wireless internet was awesome, most hotels have extra fees nowadays. The restaurant service was excellent, very accommodating and the decor was nice, the food quality we would grade a B- and they have a bar area adjacent to the restaurant with a billiards pool table! We played while having drinks awaiting our food on the restaurant side.

Not a far drive from downtown, nice building, breakfast left a little to be desired. Bed was a little uncomfortable, but I slept; no noise or other gripes. Worth what was paid, would stay there again.

The Preston was a very comfortable stay. The staff were very accommodating and the room comfortable and good value for the price

Great! Loved the additional optional amenities like the fish and lava lamp.

When I pulled up at first, I was worried because of the outside looks kind of old, but when we walked in it was a complete difference. The decor was very contemporary and up to date. I love the art that's placed throughout the hotel. It was a little "smokey" in some areas, but our room was nice. For the price, it was a simple, affordable stay. It's only a few minutes from OpryMills and all my meetings I attended. I would stay again.

We stayed here on our wedding night four years ago, so thought we'd return for our anniversary. Sadly, we did not enjoy our stay. One of the two elevators was not working so there was a long wait for the elevator both Friday night and Saturday morning. Walls were thin so noise from rooms on both sides was bothersome. Pillows were either too soft or too thin. Hotel and room were too warm (AC wouldn't stay on in room). Breakfast in restaurant was not that great. Staff was friendly but that's about the only good thing I can think of to say.

We loved how cute and unique this hotel was. It seemed just right for our taste. My only complaint was about other guests at the hotel, but there is little that the staff could do to control such a thing. We will stay here again next time we're in Nashville.

We had stayed at a Drury the night before in Columbus Ohio and had one of the best experiences ever at a hotel. I would never recommend the Preston in Nashville. We arrived and the toilet was filthy. They came quickly to clean it but never appologized and just walked out without asking if there was annything else. I went to the gym and there were no towels or glasses at the watercooler. I called and the brought down 2 towels and they werent even folded. We wont stay here again.

I stayed there because I had an interview at Vanderbilt Medical Center in the morning. The hotel was located close to the 40 interstate and it only took 15 minutes at 6.30 am to arrive at Vanderbilt. The hotel is very trendy looking, reminding me of a "baby" Hardrock hotel. The beds were very comfy and they used Aveda products for bathroom. My only complaint was that you needed your room key to use the elevator, so it was a little annoying, but it made the hotel safe. Also, the internet connection was very, very slow, so I would not recommend if you need serious wi-fi; however, there was an ethernet cord. I did not use the ethernet, but it may have made a difference.

From the moment we arrived staff treated us like royalty. Nothing but smiles and "what can we do to help". The ambiance of the hotel is great...retro mixed with chic modern. Bed was awesome, room was awesome, staff was awesome. Only downfall was that there wasn't alot of things around the hotel, places to eat, convenience stores, etc. We did figure out on the last day that you could go down about two miles and there was an area that had some fast food places and a Kroger.

Nice location base for seeing Nashvile sites.

We had a very bad experience at Preston hotel. When we opened our bed, the sheets had blood stains and hair, among other stains. It looked like they didn't change the sheets. We complained and were changed to another room with clean sheets. My husband had ordered room service when we noticed the sheets, so he couldn't finish his dinner before we were moved. The manager gave us a call saying we needed to change rooms immediately because they needed to assign the room to somebody else since the rooms were all full. The next day, we told them that at least the hotel should wave the dinner that we couldn't finish but the manager wasn't there and nothing could be done. It looks like the hotel is poorly managed and it is old. It is NOT a 4 star hotel: the furniture is in bad shape, not to mention cleanliness is questionable. Avoid this hotel because it won't be a good experience. If you have to travel the hotel is right next to the airport. The surroundings are a little shady.

Room was terrible. Squeaky bed, scratches all over furniture, stain on pillow, and dingy hallways. By no means am I comparing to the Ritz, but for $100 a nite I should have just stayed at a $50 motel.

the food staff were outstanding including Chef Ricardo and his staffbrkfst and dinner were very good!not typical hotel food

My daughter and I had a pleasant experience. However, we were disappointed that the hotel did not have the basic amenities for the new millenium. No DVD/BluRay player (that would have saved us some money) and no small refrigerator (had to throw food away). These two things as I said would have saved us some money as well as would have allowed us to stay inside or even for that matter eat at the hotel. My other issue was that I was unaware that it was a pet friendly hotel. We suffer from allergies and at first I could not figure out why the itchy watery eyes, the stratchy throat, clogged nose and sneezing until we went out that evening and saw a couple with two dogs and the manager giving them a dog bowl.

I was recently a guest at The Hotel Preston in Nashville Tennessee. I love the fact the offer things like lava lamps, rubber duckies, add milk and cookies. The room I had was huge big enough to be a sweet and the staff was friendly and courteous especially the front desk manager Jenna. Thanks for all you do and keep up the great service for weary travelers in Nashville.
