Stayed 1 night. Cheap rate, no problems.

Parking lot difficult to get out due to location. Front desk help was very unreceptive. Chairs in pool area were all broken. Overall stay....... not good

The hotel was in a great location we wanted to be on the water the pic shows beach huts but they dont exisist there. Breakfast was cereal and great value (walmart brand) danishs. The ladies at the desk were helpful.

At first, I was concerned about the hotel after seeing past reviews. Both were good and bad. I stayed there for the weekend opening of Spring Break. The service was excellent and helpful. Rooms were not too shabby and were in great condition albeit a few recent minuscule damages from prior occupants. There were two elevators, one was out of service entirely. The other one got stuck on my second day and one in my group was in there. It was all in good fun though. They had security there due to Spring Break season so it was comforting to be secured. It is a great location near the main beach (Coca Cola) and across the streets from shops and restaurants. It's only a mile from a few clubs. For future Spring Breakers, I recommend this hotel since its more affordable to budget conscious younger people. You don't need glitz and glamour during that time, only a place to sleep and meet friendly occupants and the staff.

The clerk had a terrible attitude and I was charged $ 200 deposit, even though my room was pre-paid and credit card on file. When I entered the room I saw bad wall paint - bad vibes over all. We had two rooms, but even though we had paid we took that loss and went to another hotel. I was very dissapointed!!!

it was just good enough, the room is ok, but the breakfast is just coffee, staff is not so friendy

Hotel was well priced, rooms were neat, and staff was very helpful. Recommend it.

MY BOYFRIEND AN I SPENT NEW YEARS EVE AT BLUE BAY ON SOUTH PADRE ISLAND AND IT IS THE CUTEST HOTEL EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE WILL TOTALLY STAY THERE AGAIN

The room was a good size and clean. Will return for a weekend getaway!

no cream for coffee at lobby. no breakfast. had go out for breakfast .no milk for cereal.

Well worth the $ if just using as a place to shower and sleep.

The delux breakfast consisted of orange juice, bread, and honey buns. The room has a view of the bay. However, you cannot access it. But the room and bathroom were very clean! The staff was also very friendly.

bathroom door would not hold the lock position. it did have a refrigerator, but was 2 feet tall, enough to put a six pack and that s it.

Awesome view of the causeway and very clean room. Room was very spacious and staff was very nice, definately will stay there next year.

This was my first visit to South Padre Island. I researched the hotels in the area for two hours and was fairly confident that I made the right choice. My wife and I arrived early, checked in and went to the beach... That evening there were a lot of people bbq-ing at the pool. At 12:30 am they were still at the pool. I called the front desk to complain about the noise and was told they would take care of it. At 2:00 am they were still at the pool. Subsequently, there was also a barking dog that aided in the overall disturbance. The next day we requested to be moved to a differentroom, they moved us from the third floor to the fourth floor. We thought this would solve the noise issues, it didn't... We requested a seven am wake up call and asked what time the pool closed, James, the clerk told us eleven pm. At midnight, once again was screaming and partying! The following morning we went to check out and the general manager made several attempts to explain the noise and apologized for the multiple disturbances we experienced. She refunded us twenty percent of our overall bill to "compensate" for the noise. We never did get our 7am wake up call, instead we got sarcasm from James when I called to ask about the wake up call. The hotel was nicely priced, the rooms were clean and the location was conveniently located. However, after what we experienced I would spend a little more money and forego the unprofessional attitude, the excessive noise and excuses for why we couldn't get a decent nights rest while on vacation... First of all, the hotel is not located on the beach, nor does it have a microwave in the rooms. This was the biggest disappointment was that it was not walking distance to the beach. Not a very good complimentary breakfast, had to get new room keys 3 times, no wash cloths, and the elevator got stuck a couple of times and then wasn't working for a day. Would not stay here again!

elevators were not working properly and not air conditioned, beds were uncomfortable, very noisy. Not a pleasant experience!

Only had two towels, no iron or ironing board, very basic breakfast-cerals. Door did not lock, had to pull up on the door to lock.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel for the price, maintenance and breakfast. In my opinion, it was not worth the price we paid. The elevator constantly had problems. In fact, my daugther and friend got stuck in between floors for about 15 minutes. They would not turn both on at once, The ice machine was non-functioning. The breakfast: yuk

Motel hot n dirty.. Elevator never wk right n got stuck in 2x... only thing nice was room... Room keys never worked either. had to get new keys 3x... Will NOT stay there again.

The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast that was complimentary had only two kinds of cereal to choose from...mostly packaged honeybuns, powdered donuts, and other sweet things.Coffee and orange juice were provided.The staff was not very welcoming, but when asked for additional towels, provided them. The only bad thing was there was an unpleasant odor in the elevators and hallway. Postage size swimming pool....but for price,no-frills accomadations, it was clean and comfortable.

The Blue Bay Inn was not at all what we expected. Our room was not ready when we arrived, even though it was 15 minutes after check in time. The key to our room had to be reprogrammed 2 or 3 times during our 2 day stay. The AC unit was very noisy. I'd rather pay a higher rate at a newer and cleaner hotel.

I was very disappointed with my stay at Blue Bay. For length purposes, I am summarizing the issues I had below. - No beach access - Roaches - Took 3 days to get them to bring a phone to our room - Jacuzzi broken - 1 ice machine, located on the 2nd floor - Bathroom fixtures covered in rust - Hole in bathroom ceiling patched with plywood - No washcloths - Rude, knowledgeable staff ... oh, and my husband was jumped by 5 of the guests staying there on his way back from the pool one evening. We stayed for 4 nights and 3 days, then left and went to another hotel on the other side of the causeway. I highly recommend anyone going to South Padre Island stays at another hotel. Besides our experience at Blue Bay, Padre is a wonderful place to visit and we will definitely return next year!

This INN is one of the worst Inns or hotels we have stay in. All 4 rooms were wrong.If you wanted a towel you would be charged for the towel. The Inn staff was rude not helpful .Cleaning the room forget. had to ask for a coffee pot not in any of the rooms.

The Blue Bay Inn & Suites was a convienent area to get to and from sites. The stores, restaurants, beach, and bay sites were convienent to get to. As well as some areas for walking distances. My family and I had a wonderful stay.

This hotel truely sucked. It was a 4 star hotel price for a 2 star motel room. I have been in better Hotel 6s. The plumbing leaked in the bathroom, the elevator was very slow and appeared on the brink of failure. Reception staff were surely and obviously hated their job. Breakfast was a joke. They ran out of coffee and nothing but toast or twinkies to eat.

This hotel was the worst hotel I have stayed in and was too expensive for what you got. The employees were rude and the breakfast was awful and security was bad. The only good thing was the location. Would recommend looking for a different hotel in Padre.

Linen is clean, but rest not so sure. One of two elevators broke on first day of stay, hallway a/c was never on (we were on top floor--4th), grounds are messy, balcony was not worth the extra money, balcony looked like it was a collection site for dirty or broken furniture, the staff was unfriendly, and we have had better breakfasts. The room was way over priced.

only 1 wash cloth and asked about 7pm for another, said there woun't be any untill morning. toilet didn't flush well. Fire alarm hanging from the ceiling. Only had one key.not a key card a real key. badly broken chair in grass part of pool area. staff could of smiled more our room was on floor 1 and by pool so great view, however there was a party going on still at 11pm and I was trying to sleep There was alot of sand in the bath room

We arrived in a big party and most of the party was on the 2nd floor and we were on the 1st we asked to move to the 2nd and they did no problem but we later found out the ac was down in that room we requested our previous room and they moved us again no problems no ugly looks just quick results and polite service.

Good hotel, will stay again. Room a/c could be cooler. Nice bay view sunset. Good service.

The elevators did not work at all . when you got the the floor level of the room the a/c did not work. it was hot. I would not recommend this hotel at all. Price wise the single room was a certain rate then when i left the turn it down half the price..

I guess it depends on what your expecting. I am not the person who expects to be pampered and I was not with this Hotel. I was plain as could be. I had an issue with my dresser drawer handle that was fixed. The coffee at the continental breakfast was luke warm and NOT hot. Tasted terrible. I went accross the street to McDonalds for my coffee. The room was kept clean, The hotel was a little old and smelled musky. All in all if I had too I would stay again, but not if I have other choices.

One of the Queen Beds in the room we stayed in on the 4th Floor smelled like pee, but other than that, it was great... :-/

It's close to stores and restaurants. Walking distance. It is next to a bank also.

I stayed at the Blue Bay Inn during Spring Break at South Padre Island. The rooms were decent, clean, and the beds were pretty nice. The entire hotel (besides the rooms) smell wet and humid due to people going in from the beach and whatnot. I enjoyed my stay while there but the price was ridiculous. I stayed during Spring Break so I kind of screwed myself over on that one. Overall, I'd stay there again and would recommend to others.

It was a great hotel and very cheap for the quality of beds and service. We stayed five nights and not once did we get bothered by anyone about anything and we had clean towels and our beds made every day. Great location to the beach and very cheap. Will definitly be coming back to stay there.

1. For each guest, a $12 wristband was REQUIRED, and needed to be worn at all times during the stay. 2. Rooms had to be inventoried by GUESTS - a long list of over-priced items that we had to ensure were there, and/or in good condition. This should not be the guests' concern. Guests are not maintenance staff. 3. Breakfast was very poor - coffee ran out/was cold, cream cheese but no bagels.

I was not very satisfied with my stay at this hotel. The personnel were not able to explain thoroughly the questions I was asking. When I asked why they were differences in the two adjoining rooms I rented, they said that is the way it is. When I asked why one room had a coffee pot and the other one didn't. They said I was lucky. I asked if they could bring me one. They said that if I wanted one in the room I had to go get it. When my husband went to pick it up, they only gave him the packages, not the coffee pot. They said they did not have any available. One of the beds was very lumpy while the other one was too firm. Oh well, it was my fault. I ended up at Blue Bay Inn & Suites because my vacation reservations had changed. I should of put more effort and kept my reservation at La Quinta. Now I know i will not book at this hotel.
