Overall Nice hotel

Hotel was well positioned for the tourist. The subway was 50 yards away which made it very easy to get around the city. The hotel was clean and very comfortable and the staff really helpful. The complimentary continental breakfast was brilliant and really set you up for the day and included bagels and muffins. Hallmarks of New York. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would return to it on future trips.

Always a pleasure to stay at the Hotel Metro. It's location is ideal for any business in the area, a close walk back to the hotel. This is especially important if you are on a short trip as one does not waste time traveling to and from appointments. The size of the hotel also lends itself to an air of intimacy and calm. Especially appreciate the breakfast room, very convenient for a quick but healthy breakfast when you need to get going early. The staff are friendly and very helpful too!

We had a great stay and they upgraded our room. Perfect location to Empire state building and Macy's on Broadway and only a few minutes walk to times square. Staff gifted us with an iced bottle of champagne as we had told them it was our anniversary celebration trip. Clean and comfortable! Definitely a gem of a place to stay!

We had a nice time....recommend the rooftop terrace! Amazing view of Empire State Building.

Overall, the hotel was nice, in al old world type of way. The lobby is gorgeous and the rooms are nicely decorated. It is a bit dated and the rooms are small, but the amenities made it nice. It's hard to find a decent cont. breakfast in NYC hotels. This one had better than average bagels and a good assortment of yogurt. I like the old fashioned charm of the stairs. I've stayed at the Hamton Inn and Hilton - both next door- and they do not offer a breakfast or a rooftop deck or restuarant/bar, but have larger & newer rooms. Iit depends on what you want in your stay.

My wife and I stayed on a Saturday night. Great, convenient location, great staff, nice included breakfast. Room was clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. Highly recommend.

Lovely hotel, very clean, very nice, excellent location, but I found that not all the staff were friendly or helpful. However, the ones that were helpful went far and beyond and were extremely friendly. I was also weirded out by the fact that my minibar fridge was empty; this seemed very odd to me (especially considering they request to block $50 on your credit card or put a deposit of $250 when checking in).

We thought that it was one of the best hotels we have stayed in NYC. It was so quiet, the bed was so comfortable, we had a terrific night's sleep which is not usually the case in the city. It was convenient to the theater district and to public transportation. Breakfast included was great. We will definitely be back. Service was very personable. Also very affordable compared to so many other hotels in the city.

Room was a little small but he hotel has more character than the non-discript corporate properties.

Listed as a children friendly hotel, but we were the only family. Staff not accommodating to children nor parents.

Perfectly located near herald square, times square, Bryant park etc. The room was small but well appointed. (This is NYC...the rooms are always small.) The linens were fresh and the down comforter was luxurious. The shower was also heavenly....we had a rain shower, hand held and a standard head and the pressure was great! A really nice touch was the continental breakfast and the all day/night coffee and tea served in the lounge. Would definitely stay here again.

The room was clean and decent-sized for New York. The wireless connection was inexcusably slow. The furniture is all run down, the desk staff are interested in guest turnover, not guest comfort. A very average experience, for that money I would rather have stayed in a less convenient spot and paid less for a better room.

The location of this hotel was great, right in the center of everything, and not a big price tag. We are never in our room, so luxury etc is not what we were looking for here. It was clean and comfortable.

Hotel Metro is a good choice for convenient location, services offered and value. The Tuesday wine-tasting with hors d'oeuvres and a nice continental breakfast each morning were added bonuses. The roof top deck is most attractive with a wonderful view of the Empire State Building! I enjoyed my stay and will choose the Hotel Metro again in the future. I do recommend this hotel for a clean, comfortable, reasonably priced stay in Manhattan.

The hotel represented great value and a big plus was that it was only half a block from the subway. Enjoyed the bagels for breakfast and the open air rooftop, which had a great view of the Empire State building. The room was also very clean and quiet at night. The only downside was that, on occasions I could not get the air-con to work at a higher temperature (leaving the room was a bit cold).

Rooms were small but clean. Nice linens and towels. Continental breakfast. Staff were very friendly. Great location near train stations and bars.

SOMEWHAT SATISFIED. . . . . . My BIG concern is the T&B room is very small. Very tight space so feel you're cramped inside. There's not much toiletries in the bathroom too! More so, The hotel staffs are somewhat not so warm when welcoming a guest? I don't even see them smile at you when they attended to my requests... Yes, they will give to you what you want, but, you don't feel like they wanted to serve you. It's just like they wanted to do a routinary job?

we stayed at hotel metro 4nights the room was verry clean the bed and pillows wer the best wev ever had so you will all ways get a good nights sleap the shower was the best wer ever had the staff wer grate hotel was mid town so in the best location 35st west inbetwen 5st and 6st 3min walk from penn staiton so grate to get to from jfk or newick airport wer going back to new york next yoar and will be staying at hotel metro big thank you to all the staff at the metro cant whate to see you all next year all a1+

It was a great stay at Metro hotel. Great location, very close to metro station. Front desk was very helpful helping me to find a place to cash some checks. Free wifi and easy to setup, very useful for looking up info from personal devices. Good variety of breakfast (included). Overall it was a great experience. A little noise due to AC and dump truck doing their round at night, but not too bad.

This is the second time i've stayed here. Admittedly the first time was in 2006 but i am glad to report that it's still as fantastic as it was back then. Everything was clean, comfortable, the service was brilliant and the breakfast was just what i needed. The Location- depending on what you're there for is in the perfect spot. Close to Penn station, Macys and so on but walkable to Times Square.

This was our best experience staying in a hotel in NYC ever - the staff were lovely, the room (including our private bath) HUGE, the mattress on the bed the most comfortable ever - even after walking over 70 blocks! This hotel was located in a prime spot - it took about one minute to walk to Herald Square. This was hands down the best value we've ever gotten for a hotel in NYC. We had a mini fridge, an iron and ironing board, and shampoo/conditioner/lotion of good quality. We got the Times in the AM with an excellent free breakfast - and ample seating for all. This was a clean, welcoming and convenient place to relax and enjoy our time in the city.

We only stayed one night, but the location was terrific and the breakfast was adequate, if not remarkable. My one complaint was that, even though the rain shower was quite nice, I really missed a bathtub. After a long day of walking all over NY I had to soak my feet in the sink..not easy!

We would love to stay again, I got a great rate , if I got the same I would plan a trip around it! Was supposed to get a standard room with 1 double bed. We got 2 double beds. so thrilled!!!

I chose this hotel based on ratings. However, I was disappointed. The rooms were clean and extra towels were delivered promptly, but the lighting was terrible in the room and bathroom. No room to put anything down on the sink. The elevators and business center were not air conditioned (the temp. was in the 90's), ice was only available on the top floor. I felt the atmosphere was dark and not pleasant. Needs some renovation.
