No wifi in room bit very good overal.

the hotel was ok but dated. Dirty and damaged behind rad in restuarant, some lights not working in room and bathroom. Breakfast was definitely not the best we've had but evening meal was fine. Wasn't advised of extra charge for pool when booking or we would haave booked somewhere more convenient and local to town. However, I left an item in my room and the hotel posted it on to me free of charge. Rooms were comfy.

In its hey day this would have been a fantastic hotel, however the room we stayed in had definately seen better days. Paper was pealing off the walls and there had obviously been a leak through the ceiling above as there was a huge damp patch. Bed was comfy and the sheets were clean. No bath though. For the price we paid the room was ok, but nothing more. On the plus side the staff were friendly and the hotel was far enough from the main road, so you didn't here any traffic through the night.

I have been to a lot of hotels you mite as well bring your sleeping bag an sleep on the grass outside the hotel my room was smelly bed was soggie bathroom was drity this hotel needs a revamp I would not stay here agin even if it was a free nite DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY..

Just make sure your bedding is clean before sleeping.

it was fantastic from the minute i checked in till the end of the break the breakfast was lovely the rooms was very comfortably i will always remember the Royal court hotel with fun memories thanks to all the staff

The hotel is geared for conferences, dinners and group tourism. The rooms in the (1960s) annexe are not sound proof, and you can enjoy the conversations of those passing to their rooms at all hours. Having booked to have an animal with us, it was perhaps not surprising to be in a tired room, but the evidence of the bathroom door having been kicked through, and the chocolate bathroom suite were depressing.

First let me say that the staff was pleasant and the manager, was very accommodating. Our room was a really big disappointment however. Mold, peeling wallpaper, sewing needles sticking out of the couch..... The hotel is very deceptive. When you walk into the lobby its mildly impressive. You think that what you're seeing will flow into the rooms. That is not the case. Breakfast was decent even for a vegetarian like me, but powdered eggs? Also the staff and other guests handle the toast with their hands. I saw people digging through the toast to find an unburned piece. Yes there are tongs there, but they didn't get much use. The gym was good. Maybe a little bit cold, but once you get warm its fine. Some of the lockers were missing doors. I didn't bring a £1 coin so I left my stuff in one of the doorless lockers. Britannia really needs to invest some money in this hotel. We were moved from a room with a brown bath and toilet to one with a dirty pink suite with the same tiles on the walls also covering the floors. Dated doesn't begin to describe this hotel. The ceilings in the hallways have tiles missing so you can see the duct and electrical work. There is tape holding down the carpet in some areas and the metal plates that hold the carpet on the stairs are an accident waiting to happen. I couldn't in good faith recommend this hotel to anyone I liked.

Our time at the Royal Court Coventry was a mixed bag: it had both good and bad points. The good points were location – within about 4 miles of Coventry city centre, lovely grounds and the old building was beautiful. The room was a good size and was practically the only hotel in the area that offered a twin room at a reasonable price. Breakfast was good value for money, offering full English and continental and was available 7 till 10 am. Now the bad points – unfortunately from the moment that we left the reception area the negatives were only too clear. Our room was in a new extension to the original building. There were gaps and stains in the corridor ceilings and patched up holes in the carpets. The extension was smelly and our room more so. There were stains on the carpet and mould above our wardrobe. Every time someone used the bathroom the pipes vibrated and were noisy. The tea and coffee – particularly the coffee – tasted revolting. On one occasion the cleaners neglected to clean our room and during the times that they did clean it, they did not replenish sugar, soap etc. The final disappointment was when we had a new neighbour on our final day. Although we realised afterwards that the hotel website mentioned it was a ‘pet friendly’ hotel, we did not appreciate this at the time and discovered that the hotel was hosting a dog club convention celebration. We found ourselves next door to a very distressed dog that howled and whined continuously, as its owners had abandoned it for the evening. Overall our stay was definitely an interesting one, albeit not for the right reasons…

Enjoyed the one night stay the room was large and the facilities were good the only down point were cheap toilet paper in a 4* hotel and the room we were in was a little tired decoration wise also there was a crack in the bath panel that had been repaired but not very well. maybe becuse we were on a discount rate we were allocated a room not quite upto normal standard

We loved the spa bath in our room, the burger from the bar menu was huge and rather good, didn't like having to pay for the pool but that was pretty much the only thing that miffed us. (£2.50 each) The room could've done with a little freshening up but it was fine for the one night we needed it.

an adequate hotel but not worth the money paid. The room was only worth half the price paid, very dated - maroon bath suite with mould on tiles. We specifically booked a double room several weeks in advance but when we arrived we were told only twin rooms were available. The conference facilities and lawns are great just don't stay there overnight

I booked the hotel for a 2 night stay for my colleague and I who was attending a conference at the local Ricoh Arena for which I have to say location wise it was great, only 5min drive away. When booking the price seemed reasonable and chose this based on the fact that it included breakfast and that it had a gym and a pool, however please note that the use of the facilities in the leisure centre incur an extra cost of £6 per visit. The breakfast was the usual traditional affair although didnt suit my vegetarian colleague with very little choice offered for her, the full English for me though was ok if a little bland but generally fine. I do have to say though, the coffee tasted like it had been there a week and was disgusting andrhe tea wasn't much better either. The hotel itself and it's surrounding looked very grand and prob was back in 1971 as it would seem to me that very little has altered since. The rooms were huge but were let down by looking very tatty with tired looking paintwork and stained carpets, the bed however was very comfortable. All in all our stay at the Royal Court was OK, the hotel and rooms could really do with a good lick of paint and new carpets and it would straight away look ten times better. Would I stay there again....................I'll have to think about it.

the hotel is good value for the area, needs a lick of paint here and there, but is less noisy than others in the area.overall it is worth staying if you do not have a huge budget, i am back again next week

Not impressed with this hotel, reported broken toilet seat on arrival still broken 3 days later, reported problem with the bed, very very worn and soft mattress when we got on to bed we both rolled in to the middle, no support. Reported and told that they were replacing the beds but had not got as far as our room !! Food kept warm in trays for a long period of time so very dry.

One night stay for son's wedding. All the organisation for the wedding was very good and the staff were very efficient during the wedding and the reception would recommend it to others thinking of a civil ceremony, Food was excellent at both the sit down meal and the evening buffet, the hotel DJ was used played a good mix of music, room was clean and comfortable and the full breakfast was excellent everything you would want. our overall stay was most enjoyable and I would recommend this hotel for a wedding, a one night stay or longer. I conclude to say I could find no negative points

Overall impression of Hotel is that it is tired and needs a lick of paint and an upgrade of many of the fixtures and fittings. Our room was in the old house (extremely difficult to find), so the peeling paint etc., could be forgiven; however other wedding guests staying in the newer building found the same. Could be so much better for not a lot of effort

Nice hotel. In the countryside with large grounds. We had a room with comfortable twin beds reasonably decorated with a large bathroom. Breakfast was in with the price and excellent for a buffet. Only possible downside, which was not a problem to us was that there were 4 coaches passengers all staying in hotel making early breakfast busy.

I paid a bargain for this room, i'd have been disappointed if i'd paid more, but at a cheap price, you cannot go wrong. We were told by reception to pay extra for use of the pool facilities (£5), and had to justify/prove that my reservation included breakfast. The superior room that was stated on hotel. com, was not allocated, we were given a standard room. The original room was not cleaned, therefore a second room was allocated, which was perfectly adequate.

Would definitely recommend. Extremely well situated for NEC with hardly any traffic. Lovely grounds with use of gym, pool and other leisure facilities. Food was great with large portions and extremely good value for money. Very relaxing stay.

This hotel is in need of a long overdue update. From the hotel reception to the bedroom this hotel is tired. The rooms have very thin walls so any noise from other occuptants can be herd. The reception area is cold and uninviting, the smell of smoke is overwelming, as the smoking area is outside the main door entrance. The reception was not cleared leaves and screwed up tissues overnight and the crockery from the wedding reception that was being held the previous evening was not cleared away and this was 11am the next morning??. The staff on reception very miserable not welcoming at all, In fact the only conversation was directions to the room. The bar staff were less helpful, the drinks menu offers Latte coffee when asked for we were told, "its in the other bar" after our evening out on our return we went to the "other bar" to be told. "Its never been on the menu" to their amusement?? Staff were far too busy talking than wanting to serve us. The breakfast is a joke, food was sub standard, bread is wafer thin, cheapest bread I have ever seen in my life. Obviously we will never be visiting again, I only feel sorry for people who stay and get the same experience. One lady unsolicited looked at me and said how disgusting the hotel was. There are many more things we could mention but far too many to note. I hope whoever reads this from the hotel owner to management takes notice but then again you probably already know and of course take the money and run. Cheap does not mean sub standard.

My Husband and I had a great weekend. This hotel is not the Ritz nor is it the Ritz price. Nice room , Comfy bed what more can you ask for when you stay any where. The hotel was just right

The staff were extremely rude. the whole hotel is in need of some major refurbishment, and our room was filthy. Housekeeping walked into our room at 9am whilst we were getting dressed and wanted to know how long we were likely to be because she wanted to clean our room - even though we did not have to check out til 11am. The bathroom was in such a state that we decided it would be safer not to have a shower. We were then refused the breakfast that we paid for, because the guy on reception had entered it on the system wrong. We finally got breakfast after producing our booking form, which we ate off a dirty table and it was cleared away before we were finished.
