Magnolia Hotel Houston - هيوستن

Very nice, overall. Comfortable studio king room with kitchenette, comfortable chair and sofa, plenty of room to spread out and work. Just a few quibbles: It took a while (about 10-15 minutes most of the time) to get my car from the valet and when I tried to call in advance, the line was busy and I couldn't get through. The valet area out in front is small and congested. I left my room kind of late on a Sunday -- about noon -- and it was never cleaned although the mini bar was restocked. The free hot breakfast was cold the day I tried it. There was a charge for the omelet bar, which was presumably hot since it was made fresh.

My wife and I wanted a change from the chain hotels for an overnight stay,,, Bottom line.. it was a nice suprise.. things you should know 1. The $25 a day valet parking is not optional... there is a perking garage around the corner for $5 a day but you have to carry your luggage.. 2. The mini bar has weighted racks... we replaced a few drinks with milk overnight... we were charged $4+ until I told the front desk what we did.. 3. There is a nice cookies and milk buffet fro 8-10pm.. NICE SUPRISE! Cant wait to go back...

Staff and accommodations were excellent. the shuttle service to the convention center were terrific

Positives- Room was larger than expected. Bed was extremely comfortable. Complementary breakfast was adiquate. Negative- View from room was limited to roof top and adjoining buildings. Parking was $25 per day. House keeping was slow.

The location is your standard downtown hotel. It served its purpose for being close to the Alley Theatre where we had tickets for a play. Hotel was very clean along with well kept room. Biggest complaint would be the lack of control of AC. It was extremely warm, and I prefer cool to sleep.

This is a faux fancy hotel that seems to be popular with locals for weddings. I know it is Houston, but the lobby smells strongly of boric acid or pesticides. The rooms are nice but my sheets were pilled and very old. Really, hotels at this price point should provide nice linens and not make you feel like you are at the lowest-budget motel.

My recent stay at The Magnolia was quite pleasant. The facility is right in the heart of the downtown district which is good and bad as the area is quite rundown, but this is no fault of the hotel and it is close to many good restaurants. The room was lovely, and everything was quite convenient in the room. I never found the restaurant in the hotel, but perhaps this was a good thing as it forced me to leave and explore for a restaurant for my evening meal. I have already recommended this hotel to others and will return myself on a future visit.

My stay was very enjoyable, good amentities, very convenient to all the areas I wanted to be in Houston. Well maintained property and wait staff was very friendly.

This hotel is very clean (but is beginning to show a little age.) The rooms are spacious. The A/C works quietly and well. The breakfast (included) is great, as is the evening complimentary wine. I stay here every time I'm in Houston on business, and would otherwise.

we recently stayed at the magnolia while in houston on some personal business...the location was fine as it was accessible to all moajor roads out of downtown...the valet staff is outstanding ...actually the best part of the hotel..they are on the ball all the time...the hotel which is 8 years old looks seedy inside...needs renovation ...the food is average and the front desk and maid service just adequate...i had a problem with my commode which noone came to fix so i did it myself...the bar is a big bore with very lax service and no pulse to the place at all...,the rooms are spacious and comfortable but i found the hotel to be very boring overall...

We were very pleased with the Magnolia. From the comfortable, clean rooms to the complimentary wine/beer happy hour and evening milk & cookies, the hotel is a very good choice for anyone staying in downtown Houston. The front door valet and car unloading/loading service is lightning quick and trouble free. Our rate was superb and the hotel offered the amenity of accepting a parcel shipped to us during our stay in Houston.

We stayed here for a wedding. Great location. Free happy hour, Free breakfast, Free milk and cookies. Loved it. Magnolia are great hotels. The only draw back is the $25 parking, which added up after 5 days there.

Very convenient location, not just for downtown but easy to get to other parts of the city as well. The hotel lobby was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The breakfast, happy hour and evening cookies and milk were also very nice touches. My only comments would be that the 2nd floor mezzanine/bar area was quite dirty. Cookie crumbs from the night before were still scattered all over the carpet at breakfast time. Also the room had one of those annoying minibars where you're charged if you just move a single item in the fridge. Despite these few minor issues, I would probably stay at this hotel again.

Overall I had a great experience at the Magnolia hotel. All of the staff from the valet attendents, to the front desk, to the bartenders was very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed the restaurant/bar area, a nice place to sit and read. Every evening they offered milk, cookies, and coffee which was a great way to end the day. My room was very comfortable and spacious. A few minors things I wasn't satisfied with included the channel quality and image on the tv. Very grainy, even for what looked like newer tv set. The bathroom tub faucet still sprayed out when switched to the shower. There were also a few small stains on the walls near the floor, like someone had spilled a soda. The mini bar fridge was missing a soda and had one that was open and half empty. I did have to call the front desk to make sure I wasn't charged for these. Room services was great, over priced as usual, but prompt and friendly and the food was good. I would happily stay here again my next visit to Houson!

Overall the stay was just ok. We left our room for dinner only to return to a flooded bathroom. The guest above us decided to let their tub overflow and we had to relocate rooms and were not given a credit or an upgraded room.

I have lived in Houston my entire life and had never stayed in the Magnolia Hotel until this past week. It had me viewing Downtown Houston in a completely new light, which I took full advantage of with my camera while walking around. The hotel was clean, the staff were courteous and helpful, and I liked how easy it was to walk to a number of restaurants. The only reason I did not give it a full 5 star rating is because the pillows were overstuffed and rock hard. Think of trying to sleep on a backpack full of textbooks and that would be a fair comparison. Bring your own pillows and you will be hard to find fault with anything else.

Excellent boutique-type hotel! Offered so much more than other hotels in the area including: complimentary drinks, milk and cookies, breakfast, and internet service! Would definitely recommend to others as well as stay there again.

I received very warm service at Magnolia, especially at the lobby. That stands them out from other hotels. Also, the room was very spacious, and the free drinks at happy hours and milk & cookies everyday just highlights the stay there. The complimentary breakfast was hot and very good!

Overall i was pleased with my time at the hotel. However there a few things that didn't sit well with me (1) hot water wasn't working properly all the time, (2)the apperance of the hotel was beatiful however the rooms weren't anything speical and (3) the view from our window. Was in walking distance of alot of great places to eat and party at. Staff was very nice and helpful.

A one night stay at the Magnolia in Houston was very very enjoyable and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful, rooms were very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the food I had in the hotel was prepared well. I definitely will return to this hotel and I recommend it to others.

As soon as I walked into my room it felt good! I felt like a queen. I thought the valet only parking would be inconvenient, but it wasn't and their service was excellent!

We really enjoyed ourselves. It was my second time here and my fiance's first. He was thoroughly impressed with the decor for the holiday season, the bedding as well as the view from our room.

Love the hotel, had a little trouble with the shower, but it finally started working. My chief complaint is the parking rates. Twenty four dollars seems high considering the hotel was not crowded at all.

Great Hotel choice for us for our visit, centrally based for our needs. Breakfast buffet IMO was quality ..loved the scrambled eggs and the Bed..... FANTASTIC

Very nice hotel. The atmosphere and decor are very relaxing after hectic travel. The guys out front could take a few lessons in how to greet guests but are helpful once engaged. Of course this is one's first impression of the hotel when one walks in and a smile and a verbal greeting would be welcome and would also match the indoor lobby and the people at the front desk who do smile and greet you warmly.

Very good location and upscale hotel. Service is spot on. Breakfast, Happy Hour and Cookies are a great touch. Only draw back is distinct odor in the Lobby not quite sure what it is but did border on a Mildew Scent.

The service was wonderful, the staff was gracious and accomodating, the room was comfortable, the location is convenient to the convention center. I would recommend the Magnolia Hotel.

A group of 9 women attended an event at the Convention Center and stayed for 4 nights. All of us were very impressed with the hotel and to a person said we'd like to come back. To get 9 different people to agree on something is quite rare, so you know the hotel was fabulous. All the little extras such as the happy hour with complimentary drinks and the free cookies are such a nice touch. We plan on staying here when we're next in the area and would recommend it to all of our friends.

The Magnolia Hotel is a charming hotel with lovely rooms. It is conviently located to Minute Maid park and downtown and very easy to get too. The service was great but I do wish they had a concierge on staff as the valet did not have any real direction for my questions. The only other problems we had were with the free breakfast which we will skip next time. During this time we waited 15 min on an elevator only because we were on the 19th floor. The breakfast was just average would have been great if they would offer an egg option other wise the hot meal consisted of bacon, hashbrowns, and biscuits and gravy. But again, I would stay here in a heart beat. and just eat breakfast out. Totally worth the value and charm.
