Very decent family style resort. It is relatively small, so everything is right there: pool, restaurant, lobby and the beach. However, if you are looking for variety of restaurants and entertainment in the resort this is not right place for you to go. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Fabulous! The Hotel and The views were great! Thier Sunday brunch was off the chart

Way too many problems to describe but here are main ones: 1) Rooms were smelly and not clean at all 2) Linens were over-used and need immediate replacement 3) Water pressure in sink as well as shower was extremely low 4) Customer service was very poor.

Hotel location was perfect and only steps away from a lovely beach which was great...front desk services "Augusto" was suberb service greeted everytime with a smile and quick service for all requested....good food at the restaurant with ocean view, great bar at the pool too. Everything clean.

The Flamingo Beach Resort & Spa was a great place to stay at the end of our vacation. We stayed there with a group of friends in January for 2 nights so that we could finish our month long vacation with a bang. From the time that we checked into the hotel we felt relaxed. We were greeted with special cocktails at the front desk and were able to check in a couple hours early. Our room was fantastic! It was located on the ground floor and had sliding doors out to the pool area. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable! The pool was also great and had a view of the ocean, which was nice. The food at the hotel was ok as well....try the chicken parmesan!! I highly recommended this hotel to anyone needing a break before a long trip home.

Most beautiful seeming private beach, picturesque pool, great staff and adaventure booking agents. Felt like I won a free upgrade or something. Girlfriend and I had a fantastic time!

Our family enjoyed our stay at Flamingo. It was family friendly, close proximity to beach ( access road before beach not an issue ), and a nice beach free of other hotels. The staff was very helpful, the concierge went out of her way to help us find a used surf board shop. Nice pool with swim up bar. The only 2 things that needed improving were: the bartender at the swim up bar was extremely slow ( go to the upper outside bar for faster service and the rooms could use some cosmetic work. Would stay again.

The entire Guanacaste coast is fairly rural so if you are picturing beach town go to tamarindo. This hotel is a great resort by costa rica standards and I highly recommend it based on affordability for what you get. Has some of the best access to a very beautiful and clean white sand beach, decent food, good service, clean rooms and overall good vibe. It even has a little casino!

Great Hotel and location. The only thing I have negative to say is that is does not have room service after 9:30 pm and no other place in the hotel to get something to eat late at night. Besides that, loved our stay.

This hotel is a little run down and needs some attention. The dining areas are not very inspired and the menu items aren't varied enough. Those who purchased an all-inclusive package got a pretty good deal. Those who ordered off the menu were overcharged. I got sick after eating the ceviche the first night. We did not drink the water of have ice in our beverages. The beach was nice and the pool activities were fun. There wasn't much activity to participate in without a car.

We had a great stay at the Flamingo Resort. It was very clean, the food was awesome (particiularly the breakfast buffet), the view of the sunset was amazing, and the staff was helpful. Absolutely recommend this resort to others staying in the area.

althought we resreve 2 double beds, they had only king bed room. We stayed for 4 nights so they gave us a suit for 2 nightrs and made us change the room for the other 2 nights, which was uncomfertable! The suit wae nice but the regular room are very simple like 3 star hotel in the US! The hotel has a great game room with ping pong, pool and other games. At 8 oclock you already cannot find a chair at the pool...wake up at 7 if you would like one! The beach is graet and the sunset is awsom. You can find many restaurants outside the hotel, if you dont eat at the hotel!

Beach has high surf and warnings for riptides make swimming risky. If you like quiet resort and beach, this is great. For us, we would have preferred staying closer to a big town like Tamarindo for access to more food and activity choices. The concierge was very helpful and helped booked trips to nearby towns for various activities. Restaurant staff were also very accomodating in catering to specific diet we had. Kids loved the game room - and the iguanas on site.

Flamingo Beach Resort is very elegant, not real big and wraps around swimming pool and right onto beach. Beach not real large but enough. We were just there and not many people were there so we felt like we had beach to ourselves. Water was somewhat rough but kids loved it. It has a casino, game room with pool table and ping pong and a couple of shops. Staff was great! Food was excellent. We also ate at Marie's(casual but good) and Angelina's across street. Angelina's was excellent food. Finally found monkeys in tree next to resort - sound ferocious. Iguana(large) and raccoons came up on swim-up bar. Took ATV trip for 2 1/2 hours to other beaches. Great! We had spent 3 nights at Arenal and then 3 nights here. Arenal was higher elevation and cooler(WONDERFUL) but warmer at Flamingo. Did have rain some. Kids were sad to leave and want to go back!

Flamingo Beach is a great location in Costa Rica. While it's not quite as busy as a beach town, it still has enough amenities and activities around. The restaraunt was great and reasonably priced (it seems to be a lot cheaper to not do the all-inclusive price and just pay for meals and drinks). The only complaint I had was about the tours office. They did a pretty good job, but I really like to comparison shop for tours and what would have been really helpful to me would have been a list of tours with descriptions. They do have a list, but it lacks prices, lengths, and descriptsions. I found that I had better luck booking activities by going to the shopping center across the street. While the hotel tells you not to use other tour agencies, we ended up using the same companies for better prices (and they could give me the information I wanted!).

While traveling arround we saw many hotels in Costa Rica. Comparing to others the Flamingo Beach Hotel was ok. A huge stair infront of the hotel and a great lobby were impressiv. Getting the inforamation that there is an elevator to the casino at the second floor but not to the seperated hotel rooms at the same floor was disillusionating. Our room was big enough but we haven'T also seen a massive wooden door to the balcony before, what makes the room a bit dark. But anyway, you'll not spending to much time during daylight times within your room. The pool and garden was in good condition. Some of the staff was really friendly - some of them were running arround in an apparently bad mood. Bummer! The breakfast buffet was ok. As we've been there not at the main season it was nice and calm - good to relax.

This hotel is great for young partiers. Not so great for families. Food is pretty good and drinks are good but not really strong. Terrible towels, but nice room.

Nice resort . Not super fancy but very clean. The pool was very big and family friendly. Covered kids pool was nice. Plenty of lounge chairs and some tables with umbrellas. Very pretty grounds and a great beach. We did an all inclusive breakfast plan. The food was good. The bardenders were friendly and made great drinks! The hotel staff was accommodating. There are a few restaurants within walking distance. Our only complaint is that they were always running out pool towels.

nothing out of the ordinary, if you want to experience Costa Rica, get a local hotel - you could not tell if this was Costa Rica, Mexico or Idaho.

I read the bad reviews, but they were overshadowed by the good ones, so I didn't heed them. I wish I had and chosen a different place. I'm still attempting to understand why the star rating on this hotel is so high. It's really a Motel 6/Econo Lodge kind of hotel. I refuse to call it a resort, because there wasn't much of a resort feel to it. I'm am thoroughly perplexed at the reviews this place is getting. Pros: The rooms are spacious. Close to beach Free AM breakfast There are beds Cons: Overpriced for what you get There were bird feathers on the floor of our bathroom The sink and floor near the baseboard were separating from each other which was accented by a mildew. The water from the sink smelled like sulfur You could hear the person above each time they moved their chair across the floor. Everything felt grimy The hallways connecting the rooms echoed, so you heard every conversation anyone had no matter how far away they were as long as they were in your hallway. Restaurant on site was overpriced for the food it offered. Breakfast buffet wasn't as extensive as were some other places we'd stayed previously. This place gives you a bad vibe. Here's an example, when we checked out, we were sure to take photos of the mini bar stash so that we wouldn't get charged for something we didn't take. I felt itchy and dirty the entire time I was there. I didn't even feel like sleeping under the covers because it just felt as if the beds weren't clean. We only stayed for one day (gladly enough) and then got out of there. The staff was helpful, but not overly so. Basic service, nothing exceptional. I'd suggest this place for those travelling from another country who want a low end budget feel to their resort and enjoy the company of the "typical tourist" and doesn't like or understand quality. I'm still perplexed by the star rating on this hotel...

We just came back from a five day stay at Flamingo. My family had a great time and we really liked the resort. The pool was very child-friendly. The beach was beautiful and close by. You could hear the waves at night, even with the window closed and A/C on. The food at the restaurant was very good though the service there was slow. We will definitely return.

We went for a wedding that was taking place at the much more expensive Paradisus down the road. We lamented over where we were going to stay and the "cheaper" hotel won out. We were SO happy with our decision. The hotel is about an hour away from the Liberia airport. eighty ish dollar cab ride or you can rent a car. (just drive safely) We arrived at our hotel and were given cold towels and a refreshing beverage while we waited to check in. Check in took minutes. Our rooms were awesome. I think we had one of the rooms that was in the "basement". It's really not. It's a few steps down from the pool area. Big, Clean rooms. The lighting in the rooms isn't the best, but whatever. The lobby and pool area is amazing. It's all open air. It really is beautiful. The beach is about 10 steps away. Whoever said there is a "big road" that needs to be crossed, is crazy. yes there is a road. no it's not big or busy. The staff at this hotel is awesome. From the bell boys, to the front desk staff, to the bartenders, to the activities coordinator, to the housekeeping peeps, to the breakfast staff, to the maintenance staff. Everyone is kind and quick and happy to be working here. This hotel is perfect for people who just want to relax and hang out without any fuss. We went to the Paradisus for the wedding and had to take a shuttle EVERYWHERE we wanted/needed to go. it's nice to be able to walk about your resort as you please. There are little markets within walking distance that sell alcohol and souveniers and such. We opted for the NON all inclusive plan and bought drinks at the bar or at the markets. It worked out great. I give this place two big thumbs up. If you are loooking for a nice easy going place to staty, do it. If you are looking for fussy, high maintenance, treat me like a princess (sometimes) resort then stay down the street at the paradisus. adios!

The hotel is in a great location and the rooms were even better than we were expecting. The area is very nice, with good restaurants within a 100 yards from the hotel. It is also a great place to stay if your interested in visiting conchal beach.

El lugar es muy bonito pero el hotel ya está algo viejo, se nota fácilmente en sus puertas, baño y acabados. El personal es sumamente amable y muy complaciente con el huésped, realmente lo hacen sentir a uno muy bien. Me parece que la modalidad todo incluido es cara pero hay buenos restaurantes en la zona.

El lugar excelente, el trato muy adecuado, la playa blanca y limpia, las áreas comunes muy acordes para una estancia satisfactoria. En mi caso el Aire de la habitación no funcionaba por lo que me dieron una habitación mucho mas comoda, lo cual se agradece pues fui con toda mi familia y que mejor que ellos se sientan comodos y disfruten.

El hotel esta muy bien mantenido, la atencion es buena, tienen actividades dentro de las instalaciones del mismo que hacen muy entretenida la estancia. El desayuno es bueno. En terminos generales, lo recomiendo y si volveria a hospedarme alli.

La habitacion e instalaciones son excelentes. El desayuno se podría mejorar. La ubicación es genial porque es el único hotel en Playa de Flamingo (lo que sí hay que cruzar una calle). La playa es muy bonita!

Si me gustaria ver en la habitacion standard una pequena mesita con 2 sillitas para no tener que estar viendo tele siempre desde la cama. Gracias!! Es el tercer ano consecutivo que pasamos fin de ano ahi y siempre la pasamos bien. Algun descuento por continuidad y lealtad no caeria nada mal. Considerelo y gracias de nuevo,

En general una excelente atención en un lugar muy bien cuidado a pesar de su tiempo. El ambiente agradable, la habitación amplia y limpia siempre, piscinas y el restaurante muy bien cuidado y la comida con mucho sabor, aunque el bufe de desayuno con poca variedad. El lugar muy accesible y las playas de paraíso Costarricense! Eso si, la comida en restaurantes alrededor tiende a tener un precio alto. En general, una gran estancia para mi y mi familia!

El hotel es muy barato en comparacion con otros hoteles de la zona (Santa Cruz y sus playas), el servicio es bueno, tenian un poco de enredo al hacer el Check in pero todo lo demas estuvo bien, lo malo es que el check in es bastante tarde, a las 3, entonces es medio incomodo porque uno llega cansado de un largo recorrido y lo que quieren es darse un bano, descansar un poco o simplemente cambiarse y dejar las cosas en la habitacion para salir y disfrutar de la playa... Los alrededores estuvieron increibles, la playa es super bonita, con arena blanca. Es para los que quieren tener contacto con con alrededores, ya que la playa no es privada, existe una calle vehicular de arena antes de pasar a la playa en si, pero se siente muy agradable y segura. En cuanto al desayuno que fue lo que pudimos probar que venia incluido, estaba muy buena, habia variedad de comida para escoger y el servicio muy bueno tambien. Otra cosa que el check out es a las 12 del medio dia, deberia de ser a la misma hora del check in... Todo lo demás excelente, la vista increible..

Wij vonden het een goed hotel. Service was goed en bedienend personeel was erg aardig. Eten was heerlijk. Op het moment dat wij er waren was het niet druk met hotelgasten. Alleen de gangen klinken erg hol en ik kan me voorstellen i.h. Costaricaanse hoogseizoen dat je dan wel geluidsoverlast zou kunnen ondervinden. Wij hebben het in ieder geval prima naar ons zin gehad en zouden er zeker voor een 2e keer weer naar toe gaan. Heerlijk dat het hotel direct aan zee ligt, waar we zelfs walvissen hebben gezien;fantastisch.

Gran servicio y calidad de sus instalaciones. La playa junto al hotel es una maravilla. Desayunos muy correctos y personal atento y muy amable. Repetiría sin ninguna duda.

Un hotel muy familiar, un trato increíble por parte de su personal, recomiendo el servicio de watersports, gente muy profesional y con póliza de seguro, vimos tortugas y ballenas, increíble paseo en jetsky!

1.En la segunda noche solicitamos papel higiénico, el cual no fue proporcionado.(Llamada atendida en recepción donde se aseguró que en pocos minutos el papel sería llevado a la habitación. 2.Se solicitó un coctel llamado Alexander en el Sunset Bar el cual no pudo elaborarse por falta de leche evaporada. 3.Los precios del restaurante y Wet Bar son excesivos lo que evitó que hicieramos uso de este servicio. 4. El desayuno es de excelente calidad. 5. Personal muy amable.
