The manager of the Motel turned the thermostat up to 20 degrees. The room was still cold. I turned it up to 29. Nothing changed. There was not extra blankets in the room. I was cold, my feet were very cold. I folded the inner sheet in half, then folded the outer cover in half to get some warmth. In the morning, I did not tke a bath /showerbecause it was too cold. I was afraid I would freeze in the room. I just dressed and left for my day's duties..

Problem was the bed - VERY soft, so you constantly roll into each other. And no blanket - just the quilted bedspread, which doesn't breathe like a blanket, and gives very little warmth. We will try somewhere else next time.

The mattress had a definite slope to the centre of the bed. We booked 3 people and got enough towels for 2. It was nice quiet location and comfortable.

We had 3 kids with us this stay the room was okay bigger then most, the service was good small town . But friendly we went to a auction down the street brought the items back to The room and there was still room so tgat was great also

This is a 'motel' and is very 'basic' and I would suggest that it is not star worthy and certainly not 'two' star as advertised. The room was 'beaten up", smelly, had no sign of upgrades and was probably last decorated in the 70's . the service was perfunctory. All in all we were pleased that it was only for one night and I guess you get what you pay for.

this hotel should not carry the howard johnson banner you are not doing your costomers any favours (

When I choose Howard Johnson, I expect a certain level of hotel. The HJ in Midland was very old and more than tired. There was paint peeling in places in my room. The manager was very pleasant, but the room was on the border of being shabby. However, the price was low and now I know why. Thanks.

Quiet, close to a few things but then, it's a small town...bed was comfy.... tv was quite small

This was a very old hotel and was in drastic need of upgrading. It was clean but that was about all it had going for it. The chair was almost broken and leaned back when sat in. The room was very dark unless the curtains were opened but then there was no privacy with people walking by your door. The bathroom was very tiny and for 4 people we were only given 2 towels and one small container of shampoo and 2 small soaps. We usually take things like hairdryers but find them there as well so this time I just about left mine at home but I was glad I took it because there was nothing like that there. The bathroom basically was big enough for one person to stand in front of the small sink and that was all that could fit in there. We requested queen sized beds but the beds were just double and we were very squashed. My sister stayed in another room with her husband and they were used to a double bed but they got a queen bed and didn't even request it. There was no parking left in the lot late at night and the people that came back later from the wedding reception were just told to park out on the grass at the front of the building along the street or by the garbage bins. Too expensive for the state of the hotel!

The room smelled musty and had not been thoroughly cleaned. The bathroom was in a state of partial renovation and still needed more work.

Hotel becoming shabby - upholstery on chairs stained, caulking bathroom needs to be redone, wallboard & shower stall not fitting together properly. Plug required for bathroom sink. Weeds need to be removed from paved driveway and flowerbeds. Complimentary breakfast - all cold cereals presweetened - would be nice to have plain bran flakes or rice crispies or the like. Ashtray with cig butts in it sitting outside room for entire stay.

ROOM SMELLED VERY BADLY. RUG WAS FILTHY. SPOKE TO LADY WHO STAYED IN NEXT ROOM AND HER ROOM HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. WOULD RECOMMEND TO STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS.

I will never stay in a howard johnson hotel/motel again ,I would rather sleep in my truck.The room stank of what i thought was cat urine so bad that i sprayed almost a entire can of febreeze and it did next to nothing to lessen the stench .Then stepped into a ? water soaked carpet going to the bathroom which we did not take our shoes off after. I slept with one eye open fearing a cockroach would crawl across my face and my buddy slept on top of the covers afraid of whatever my crawl out. It was not worth the money of 3 hours of paranoid sleep and took two days to get the smell out of my nose. I would not recommend this place to my dog.

no bathroom exhaust fan,hinges loose on bath door, nice touch to have the beer bottle opener on the bath door frame.(antique) front door needed painting

Staff was friendly. Breakfast was good. Nice stay.

Very reasonable cost, clean older hotel. Midway between downtown Midland and Penetanguishene.

The room was very nice and clean. I would stay again for sure. My daughter and I stayed for a night. I booked a room with 1 queen bed. At check-in, the man at the front desk gave us a room with 2queen beds so my daughter could have her own bed. He gave us the same rate. I thought that was very nice.

We enjoyed a short getaway stay.

Lighting was a bare minimum. Only two lights in the main room. A floor lamp and a lamp at the night table. Shower curtain was dirty. The sink tap leaked. There was a window in the room as if it was a storage room. The drain in the tub seemed to be blocked, We travel a lot and felt the room was over priced for the accomodation.
