I travel very frequently and this hotel is perfect for me. It is not directly on the beach so do not expect that. However, it has a beautiful courtyard and many rooms offer comfortable balconies to relax on. Very peaceful. Also it has a restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner. Convenient. Staff is very nice and room prices are generally good value but prices do fluctuate for day of week or month (just like all other hotels).

Everyone was great and friendly. Food at the restaurant was horrible but service was very friendly and helpful. Room had a fridge, next time I will bring my own food. When I am in town again for business I will stay here again.

Loved this hotel. Location was BEAUTIFUL. Hotel was BEAUTIFUL. I have already recommended this place to many. My only complaint of the whole entire venture was that the bed looked amazingly comfy and felt it when i first lied down but i did wake up the next morning with some slight back pain. Otherwise this place was amazing, staff was quite friendly and I would still come back here again and again and again.

When we got to the hotel at 4 p.m. they told us that the room was not ready for us. We waited about 10 minutes and they were able to provide us with a room. Hotel was clean. Great value for the money. Really only thing lacking was the free continental breakfast. This was at the Best Western in Carpinteria.

This is the third time we have stayed at this motel. Very convinient location. Very clean. Very enjoyable. We will stay again.

The Motel was fine, but the staff service in the restaurant was very poor. Not particularly friendly, although the quality of the food was good.

We stopped for one night in Carpinteria on our way up to the Central Coast. The location was very convenient and the room was clean and comfortable. The only negative about the property was a horrible experience with their restaurant. We ended up waiting for almost an hour for our food to be served after ordering. The waitress came by one time to updatate us on the status or our order, but then we heard nothing after that. When I finally did get up to question them about our food, the said that they were swamped with room service orders. No apologies, nothing. They should have offered us a free drink or something but they never did. We ended up leaving and having a hamburger at Carls Jr. across the street.

The motel was right off the freeway, so it was very easy to find and access. It had a lovely courtyard and a fun bar, jacuzzi and pool area. It was very near to a wonderful beach town with restaurants, cafe's, shops and mostly, the beach. It was comfortable, well priced and convenient. We wish we could have stayed an extra night!

Hotel is located near Santa Barbara and much cheaper than the ones there. Hotel is currently doing some renovations, which causes some inconvenience (no functioning ice machine on 3rd or 2nd floors). Overall the stay here was ok. Would recommend to families.

WALLS ARE PAPER THIN. BOTH OF US HARDLY GOT ANY SLEEP BECAUSE THE PEOPLE ON OUR HALLWAY WERE COMING AND GOING UNTIL AFTER MIDNIGHT, AND THEIR DOOR KEPT SLAMMING. WE COULD HEAR THEM TALKING ALL NIGHT. Hotel service, fine. We didn't use any services, really. Pool: tiny (we couldn't even for swimming because there were two kids in there, and that was all there was space for). Jacuzzi: capacity THREE PEOPLE. teeny. Cleanliness: very clean. Beds: very uncomfortable, pillows are gigantic and hard; both of our necks/ backs were sore in the morning.

Clean, comfortable and welcoming staff.

Location was perfect, staff was friendly. Room obviously older but comfortable and clean. Hotel had character.

I found the hotel to be very clean, good amenities, and close enough to places to go and see. The only negative comment I could think of is that the freeway is right next to it and you could hear the traffic if your room is on that side of the hotel. I will definitely stay there again as it is affordable for the quality.

Noisy pipe system, beds not all that comfortable, reasonably quiet

We are still wondering what the "Plus" meant. The bathrooms were old and wall paper was coming off. Tiles were missing and highly overrated. Staff was pleasant enough and Jacuzzi was barely large enough to be called a Jacuzzi. The restaurant upstairs brought us our "Expensive Dinner" and my food was cold. They took my meal off, but never again.

This is a very lovely hotel. It is a great place to stay when you are traveling South. We even had time to roam around the pier in Santa Barbara. We would definitely stay there again. Thanks!

The ideal place to stay if your not camping in carpinteria. Very very nice and great price. Nice bar and restaurant on the third floor. Do it!

Good value for price. Close to Santa Barbara which has very high rates. Very nice and quaint community. My only complaint would be that the restaurant was not very good.

This hotel is used by students from a nearby graduate school so they get up VERY early -like 6am. It wouldn't be a problem except as soon as someone showers or uses the bathroom the pipes make a very loud noise and you can hear the creaking of footsteps. The decor is a little shabby for a BW Plus. Not sure what the plus means, may be the restaurant?- that was good but pricey. My TV was so old it wasn't even a Flat screen analog never mind a 42" LCD HD found in most BW's. Channel selection was poor too, 4 government channels out of 24 plus 1 education, no HBO. The cable connection was so bad that if I walked past it the TV went snowy. I stopped calling about it the 2nd time and fixed it myself. The bathroom was very dated with tile countertops, and THE WORSE toilet paper EVER. The hotel is "green" but that doesn't mean that the TP has to be cheap and nasty - I had to go and buy some as I was staying there a week. The maid left my balcony door open one day, and when I complained at the front desk, the young man couldn't care less and tried to explain away her actions. It would have been appropriate to tell me you were going to mention it to housekeeping. The road noise can be bad too so ask for a room near the front of the building. The balcony is nice but it connects to other rooms so no privacy. I've stayed here before so pay the extra money and get a courtyard room on the 3rd floor. The quality of the room is better, including the TP and TV but most of all it is QUIET. Sorry BW but you are not a plus - at least not the cheap rooms.

The low score for cleanliness for our room was due to peeling wall paper, broken tile in bathroom and aged fixtures. The manager assured me that all rooms would be renovated this year. Other than that, nice place and good location. Some rooms suffer from freeway noise - choose a room on the interior if possible. Staff was very nice. Free coffee in the lobby would be nice.

I chose this place as somewhere near Santa Barbara to stay on my road trip from San Francisco to Temecula. I would definitely recommend this hotel. They have sort of an odd assortment of amenities. It's so pretty that it makes you feel like you're in a nicer hotel than you are. When I got there, I really wanted a drink after driving all day and the restaurant was closed, there was nothing in the room and from what I could tell they don't have 24 hour room service. I was a bit disappointed and then I remembered what I paid for the hotel. No, there aren't bell boys waiting to carry your bags and no they don't have 24 hour room service...but the bed is comfortable, the room is clean and it really is a pretty hotel. Also, the beach is not too far away and it's gorgeous! We walked to The Worker Bee nearby for breakfast and there were quite a few cute shops in the area. I will definitely be staying here again.

They need to ensure the bathrooms are cleaned more thoroughly! There was old urine in the grout at the base of the toilet (where it meets the floor). The sink was dingy (not scrubbed, just merely wiped out), and the rubber bath mat was grimy and stained.

nice, charming hotel. Unfortunately restaurant doesn't keep up with the good quality of the hotel. Just basic bar food, small wine list, untrained service.

Very impressed - a pleasant and comfortable visit. Quiet atmosphere yet close to everything. Highly recommended!

It was a cute hotel, reminded me of Mexico, beautiful courtyard, the beds were very comfortable, and my kids loved it...say it was their favorite hotel we have stayed in!

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. It was perfect for our one night stay. Front desk was helpful with directions and nearby attractions.

My kids and I throughly enjoyed our stay. Hotel was conviently located right off Hwy 101. Bar and restaurant were nice, and staff was pleasant. Not far from Santa Barbara. Will definitely stay again.

We had just come from the Best Western Plus in San Simeon, and chose this hotel because of that EXCELLENT experience. This hotel was VERY scaled down for the money...the bare necessities, no mini bar, clean enough, but costly for what you get. It does not rate the Plus being attached to its name.
