We stayed in room 246. Small room but everything accounted for apart from the bottled water which was in the welcome book but when we asked reception, they stated that it isn't included with the room?!? Room is rear facing so no real view but we were tucked away which was ideal as we took our little dog with us. On arrival we asked where the dog was welcome. He wasn't really. Only in the room. This made it hard to get to the bar as we wouldn't have wanted to leave him in the room on his own so we ate out more than we ate in. There are many little nooks in the hotel so it would have been nice if they could have set aside one of these for the dog owners. With regards to the room. As mentioned, it was small but the bathroom had looked like it had been recently refurbished and we were suitably impressed. Now I think of it, the radiator did make a really funny noise every so often. Like it was filled with stones & they were being blown about. Strange! The big draw back to this room is the window in the bedroom itself. It opens fully from the bottom so should you have had the window open, you may have had an attack of vertigo as there is a drop from the second floor! My suggestion is some sort of restriction on the window to stop it from opening so fully. We had breakfast delivered to the room as we had the dog and I must say it was wonderful!!! As I said, we can't comment for the rest of the food but I would recommed the hotel for the breakfast alone! :o) The staff were all very pleasant and the new receptionist (She had trainee on her badge) was very helpful. :o) We were, barring the staff, probably the youngest people staying at the hotel and we are mid thirties, but all the people seemed very friendly saying good morning and commenting on the dog. :o) All in all, it was a very nice stay so thank you all.

Our stay was very pleasant. On arrival I managed to get an upgrade for a small cost which was worth it as we got a nice sea view in a refurbished room. The staff were helpful and friendly and the best bit was the breakfast. All in all an enjoyable stay.

we found the hotel to be very clean,service was good and breakfast delivered to our room at a time we wanted for an extra £2.50 good value.

This is the 3rd time my girlfriend and I have stayed at the Best Western Landsdown. We keep returning as it is a nice, quiet, clean, relaxed hotel to visit for a weekend break. The staff are friendly and the restaurant food is excellent. The location is ideal as the town is just a 10 minute walk away and there is usually somewhere to park near by. The seafront is opposite and very pretty on a sunny day. If I had to find one fault it would be the tv in the bar had football on and the volume up too loud despite the fact that on one person was watching it. I don't think the sound should be turned on at all as it spoilt a quiet romantic drink (in fact football felt very out of place in a hotel of this quality). There were several other quiet places to sit so we felt compelled to move to the lounge instead. This was one minor irritation which occurred during an otherwise perfect weekend. I would definately return there again.

Our stay at the Lansdowne Hotel was very good overall. If the sun had shone it would have been excellent, but the staff cannot be held responsible for the weather!!!! The room was clean, the bathroom spacious and full of complimentary goodies to use. The food in the bar was to a high standard of presentation and flavour. Breakfast was huge and filled us up for most of the day. We will be revisiting the Lansdowne again in the future.

A lovely quiet hotel, possibly aimed at the older guest. Polite, helpfull staff, lots of small lounges & a really relaxing atmosphere. Perfect for a peacefull weekend. Great breakfast too.

The hotel is ok but needs updating. I was cross that they allocated me a smoking room even though I booked on line and was promised a non smoking room. I think they thought I was making a fuss when I asked them to change it. On the whole the hotel was comortable and breakast was good. Room was a bit small and old fashioned decor

We really emjoyed our stay at the Lansdowne. Being disabled myself it was excellant that we could park just across the road (in the disable bays for free) The staff were friendly and most helpful. Bar meals were good and were brought to our table and the food was stil hot. We were so impressed hat the three of us are talking about going back again soon.

A one-night stop-over, and a last-minute booking via the Internet. I got what I booked for (no upgrade, although the hotel was half empty), so can't complain. Decent room service - breakfast a bit lukewarm (not cooked to order, buffet-style self-service), but polite and attentive service. Would use again.

Spacious well appointed room, everything very clean. Friendly helpful staff. Good choice of breakfast foods. Well prepared and presented evening meal, though portions, particularly of vegetables, somewhat small.

The hotel itself was fine (exterior), but the room was not! Felt like a sauna, with no air con or fans and the bed I had was leaning to one side. Had a great view though of the garages at the back, and was woken from my short nap by the staff moving carts around at 07:00 AM.

Όμορφο ξενοδοχείο, κομψό, με αέρα βρεττανικής εξοχής, αλλά σε αρκετά σημεία παραμελημένο. Το δωμάτιο που μας έδωσαν ήταν πολύ μικρό, χωρίς ψυγείο ή mini bar, έβλεπε σε ακάλυπτο, και ήταν σαφώς υπερτιμολογημένο για την εποχή. Το internet αν και δωρεάν, δεν λειτουργούσε καθόλου καλά. Πρωϊνό αν και με μικρή ποικιλία, ήταν συμπαθητικό και νόστιμο. Η ηχομόνωση δεν ήταν τόσο καλή. Προσωπικό ευγενικό.
