Hotel Regina is in a very convenient location.

The hotel and rooms were smaller than expected but that wasn't soo surprising. This hotel is a very short walk from the La Rambla street where there are many shops, restaurants, street performers and so on. There are metro stations close by (Universtat) and we took one to see the Gaude cathedral. Very pleased with our (breif) stay in Barcelona. Hotel was average which doesn't man it is bad in any way, I would certainly consider staying there again.

Everything was great about this hotel. It's about a 100 yards to the start of Ramblas, which is just as close as you probably want. The street the hotel on is not so busy so that was very nice. The metro is right there, and there are buses dedicated to go from placa catalunya to airport (about 5 Euros a person). The wireless internet is also decent. The only problem some may complain about is that the metro runs right under the hotel. I was so tired by the end of the day, and the bed was so comfortable that all the noise didn't make a difference. I was on the second floor, so people far up probably didn't hear a thing. If you want to save some money, buy food at the grocery store underground in the big mall (probably 7 stories high) at placa catalunya, I can't remember the name.

I spent 1 night in the Hotel. Location is unbeatable - but this is everything. I wanted to give myself a treat when traveling alone and booked this hotel. Well, it absolutely didn't came close to anything that could be good!!! At first, they wanted to offer me a room with no window! Room was in the high price segment and you have no window???(can't tell the exact price due to comment rules, but it really was expensive! And I'm coming from Zurich, where I'm quite used to high prices). After going back to the reception I received an other room with view on the ventilation tubes and on a permanent construction scaffold (which is trying to hide the view to the busy street). Room was noisy - couldn't have the window open at night. Room doors are as thin as paper - you can hear every single word of a conversation from other guest on the floor. Someone smoked in a room next door (also if it was non smoking) and within no time, my whole room stunk from cigarettes. I put a hand towel in front of the gap between door and floor to make it a little bit better- it didn't helped much. Something must be wrong with the air in the hotel: In the afternoon I spent 2h in the room and had to leave because of a enormous headache. after I was outside, headache was gone. Same thing in the morning: Headache was so painful but after I left, it was gone (for those who think this could come from too much sangria: I'm not drinking alcohol). Jerry-built rooms in size of a small shoe box, and the interior is very attrited and old. It looks more like a 1 or 2 star Hotel room. DON'T GO THERE! It totally isn't worth that money!!!

First time visiting Barce; son studying at UB. Pleased w/LARGE room w/twin beds & sitting area; clean. Loved free in room WiFi & flatscreen. Wonderful lobby/lounge w/art history books, leather club chairs, bar & smooth jazz always playing. Walk to campus, metro & aeroport bus; no need for a taxi. Hotel located at top of Rambla & off a small side street of Placa Catalunya; much quieter than most hotels...However, I was on 1st floor & could hear Metro rumble which did NOT bother me. Starbucks, nextdoor to HR, has outdoor bistro area w/hugh umbrellas & shrubbery for patio privacy...really nice option. Highly recommend hotel. Would book again.

Stayed at the Hotel Regina for 2 nights with my girlfriend for a weekend in Barcelona during Feb 2012. The Regina is a really well kept hotel in a fantastic location at the top end of La Ramblas, in a quiet side street without the noise you can get in this area. The rooms were really nice, modern and clean. The staff were good except for a slow checkout. Overall, a good hotel I'd have no hesitation in recommending.

This hotel was great for my family of four. It was right in the heart of Las Ramblas, but around the corner from the street side -- so we didn't get the noise. A few minutes and you're at the metro. Cannot comment on the food at the hotel since we didn't eat there. There IS a minibar in the room -- which we used for our little kids' snacks and drinks. My other half was also extremely impressed with the room/proximity/cost of this hotel. Traveling in Europe with younger children can be challenging, and we've seen it all. If we return to Barcelona, we will plan on staying there again. The front desk was helpful and courteous throughout our stay. Although no smoking is allowed in the rooms, I'm pretty sure that a room near us was smoking near his/her open window, as the smoke permeated throughout the hallway at night. Other than that, it was perfect for our family getaway. Highly recommend it.

My stay at the hotel was a great experience. It's just steps from Plaza Cataluña so there is no need for a taxi as the Aerobus stops there from the airport for about €5!! The only thing to worry would be La Rambla (just steps from the hotel) at night as it can get scary, speacially because of thieves that work in groups! But with the common provissions you should not have a problem!

Excellent location at the top of Las Ramblas, close to Gran Via and Passeig de Gracia, close to the metro. Very helpful staff, clean and comfortable--nice robes and slippers and free wifi--this place has it all if you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in a great location. Not the most luxurious hotel we have ever stayed at, but definitely worth every cent we paid. Would definitely stay here again!

My wife, daughter and I had a wonderful experience at hotel Regina. Since our arrival the personnel was very friendly and helpful. Isaac, at the front desk, is great! As well as all the other personnel. The location is the best in our opinion, near plaza Catalunya, were all of the public transportation has a station and major touristic attractions. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Next time we visit Barcelona will use the same hotel.

We stayed at the hotel on Sept 4-5, 2011. The hotel is in a great location. When we checked out to to go to the airport, the hotel offered to call a taxi for us in the morning. I agreed as that seems appropriate. When we got to the airport, the driver asked for 40 euros and produced a printed receipt. I had to pay as I had no other choice, but was very upset. On our way in from the airport, I only paid 20 euro with rush hour traffic, so how did us going back out to the airport with no traffic double in price. Very Disappointed. There's a tax stand about 1/2 block away. Save yourself some money and walk down the block.

Excellent hotel

The hotel location couldn't be better. The hotel is located right beside the Pl Catalunya from where it is an easy walking distance to the port, very close to the famous Rambla and Boqeria Market. From Pl Catalunya one can take the tourist buses. The room that we stayed was very clean, comfortable with excellent decor.

Well located, this Hôtel offers excellent quality / services for the price and we would definitively return since two days in Barcelona is not enough!

Reception at this hotel were very helpful and recommended a fantastic tapas bar nearby.Although it was more expensive than I was hoping to pay we were given a superior room which made it worth the money.The location was excellent just off Catalyuna and the Rambla.Only negatives were a bit noisy from adjacent rooms(not street) and cleanliness od bathroom.

We recently stayed at this hotel before our cruise. We reserved a large room which can accomdate up to 2 adults and 2 kids. I think the price is reasonable for the area. The room is very large and the location is perfect.

Excellent hotel, wonderful service, amazing location!!

It is a nice hotel, friendly staff, clean, comfortable room, great location, shaving kit in the room, newspapers in the lobby...etc however, my room was facing the space in the inside of the building, and therefore it was very dark, no light, had to switch on the ligts even during the day. so it is worth asking for a room facing the street.. very nice breakfast, but overpriced, 17 euros

The people at the reception were very pleasant and helpful. The room was simple, very clean and the beds were oh! very comfortable. I broke a glass and immediately somebody came to clean it as soon as we called. The neighborhood is very safe and convenient. I strongly recommend this hotel for your stay in BARCELONA. The price was also very reasonable for what they offered. Close to parking and public transportation, and close to the Ramblas

I paid an average of CA$250 for 4 nights for standard small room and that rate does not include breakfast. They charge an extra euro 16.0 per person for breakfast. The room is too small in comparison to the rate. Other than that, hotel has an excellent location and good services. It would be nicer though to include the breakfast with the rate though.

We were originally put in a room on the 1st floor, almost underground and facing construction. I had to put up a stink, but they finally switched us to a room on the 5th floor. All the windows are spacious, but I wanted a room with a door/balcony/street view. They have double doors that open to the outside and let the nice Spring air and sunshine in. Staff was otherwise very nice and helpful. Right on Plaza Catalyna - we had a front row seat to the spanish protests! Would stay here again

Excellent location. We had three adults and the family room was plenty of space. Starbucks around the corner. 2 block walk to stop for bus to airport. Metro stops close as well.

I have seen some negative reviews and I disagree with their opinion. Here are a few highlights and why... - Excellent Location - The room was excellent (should consider is a European hotel not and overloaded U.S. hotel) - Helpfull personnel (Spanish culture is straight forward.. dont expect any extreme politeness) - Reasonably priced for the location and facilities (consider the USD worth nothing versus the Euro) - The bathroom had some minor drawbacks, but very minors to list (also consider that 'til recently a large % of european hotels had common baths) - Very smooth check-in (even when we arrived 3 hours early)

This is a lovely hotel about a block away from all the noise. The airport bus is very convenient to the hotel; no need for a taxi. The hotel staff is professional and friendly. The price was slightly more than I wanted to pay, but the location, cleanliness, and atmosphere of the hotel are commensurate with the price.

The noisiest family in the room next to us. The walls are so thin in this hotel, you can hear everything. It didn't help that the family allowed their kids to run up and down outside our room. I think we got a really bad located room on the first level. Our view was a cement wall. I think our stay would have been much better if we had gotten a room on a higher floor with an actual view.

Only 2 blocks from Plaça Catalunya (with buses to and from the airport) and La Rambla. Really comfortable beds, free internet access, nice size. Room had no view but we didn't spend that much time there. Only downside was that breakfast was outrageously expensive (so we bought bread at a bakery) and no way to get hot water for tea or coffee.

The hotel is not new. The elevator is really small for travelers with lots of luggage. The upstairs corridors are a bit plain. Nevertheless, the Hotel Regina is really well located in a very nice neighborhood. Dining and shopping are just a a very short walk away. The sightseeing buses are within a block of this hotel. We think the Hotel Regina is a good value for the money.

We stayed for a long weekend in a family room with kids (aged 16 and 7). The room size was ideal with plenty of space for us all. My 7 year old daughter especially liked the free gifts of pens and sweets that were in our room every day. The cleanliness of the room and other areas of the hotel was very good. My 16 year old son especially liked the free wifi and use of the internet. Only down side was the price of the breakfast - we booked on room only basis and had breakfast in the hotel the first morning at a cost of 60 euros!! We didnt do that the following days - we ate at Starbucks next door (as did a few other guests!!). I would certainly recommend this hotel and hope that my husband and I will return for a 'grown ups' break very soon

Was actually delighted when our party of 6 (3 rooms) were all upgraded to rooms with views. None of us had complains. While the hotel has mostly been updated rooms still contain tell tale signs of it's original character and features. It is very near the heart of the action so during festivals you can open up your window and look down upon the street. Would easily stay here again.

Excellent location! Just off Placa de Cataluyna! Near to everything- shops, restaurants etc. Rooms large and comfortable and modern! Airport shuttle bus only a 2 min walk away!

Hotel Regina is a lovely boutique hotel with nice decor and is located just off Placa Catalunya which is the main square and is about 5 mins walk to Las Ramblas which is the main street in Barcelona. Ther room was nicely decorated however it was much too small for two people and felt claustophobic if you spent much time there. It is basically a single room where they have put a double bed into. Our window faced a wall and what looked like an air conditioning vent! There were loads of toiletries supplied and white bathrobes and slippers. There is a fridge full of alcohol and snacks however it doesn't chill the food (?!). There was no tea/coffee facilities in the room. The lift for some reason was like a sauna when you stepped into it...very uncomfortable. We got off to a bad start at the hotel as the person at reception who checked us in was so unfriendly and cold. I would not reccommend this hotel. There is a hotel next door called Hotel Pulizer which looks really fabulous, I would stay there if I was in Barcelona again.

This hotel is very close to aerobus, so you can go straight from airport to everything, no taxi!! Staff spoke English and were very nice!

We chose this hotel due to the great reviews it has received on-line. The location is awesome, as it so near the Airport Bus, and also near Las Ramblas. Never did we feel unsafe, and we out rather late in the Placa Catalunya people-watching. The only complaint I would have would be regarding a front desk staffer...He seemed a bit overworked, and really was not the nicest when we tried to check in...And he really did not want to answer any of our questions....

This hotel is in an excellent location, private yet close to all the actions along La Rambla. The services provided were top class, the ambiance was great and the facilities were clean and comfortable. We will definitely stay here on our next visit to Barcelona !!!!

A nice good value hotel in a great central area. Pleasant rooms and good value. Nice breakfast and friendly service.

I've been to BCN10 times now, each time a bit different, this hotel was staffed with very helpfull people, nice rooms, and a great location. I'd reccomend it, oh as well as a decent rate for parking, well for Barcelona it was ok.

Fantastic location right in the centre of things (just off Plaza Catalunya, close to the Aerobus stop) but no noise from outside/street. Quality of hotel decor, facilities, bar, etc. was outstanding, beds very comfortable, nice supply of toiletries and bathrobes/slippers, and rooms were a really good size (easily large enough for two people to share). The only drawback is the noise from other guests, as the walls seem to be paper thin and the doors make a lot of noise and let a lot of noise in. Despite that, a fantastic stay in a beautifully presented central hotel for a pretty reasonable price.

Close to the Ramblas and easy reach for the other highlights of a Barcelona stay. Although very close to the vibrant heart of this town, the position of the hotel means we had a very peaceful stay and thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Very central, nice place but bed toooo hard. Need to change them to memory foam o better!
