Very comfortable hotel stay. Very satisfying breakfast service. Complimentary Business Centre (2 computers and printer) access was convenient. Overall a great stay!

Could not be more conveniently located. The view from the roof-top restaurant was fantastic. The staff was very helpful, and the hotel itself was of good quality.

Since our main objective was to visit the new Acropolis Museum, the Athens Gate Hotel suited our needs perfectly. The fact that the remains of the Temple of Olympian Zeus were across the street and visible from our window was an added bonus. We found the staff to be extremely helpful, often going out of their way to accommodate our needs, whether it be finding a pharmacy that was open in the evening, calling a cab, or supplying us with much tourist information. The breakfasts were also excellent in both quality and quantity, and the fact that they were served in the very attractive rooftop cafe/bar (with a commanding view of the Acropolis and Parthenon) added much to the dining experience. I will certainly recommend the Athens Gate hotel to friends and also stay there again on future visits.

The location is fantastic, right near the Acropolis, and close by the subway to go all over town. THe desk staff was very helpful with advice about getting around. The food in the rooftop restaurant was extremely good. I thought I would try it once, and kept coming back. I thought it was great value for the money. Small problem: in room wifi wasn't working. But there was free internet access in the lobby, and no one competing for it when I was there (February).

The Athens Gate is a wonderful option in Athens--an easy walk (and luggage drag) from the Acropolis metro stop, easy walking distances from major sites, incredible views from the rooms and roof restaurant (where complimentary breakfast is), attentive staff, great value. An internet option is to purchase a WI-Fi access card from them (vs. the 5 euro/per day) at your choice of denomination--easy and at your convenience. The rooms are tasteful and simple and very quiet. This will be my first choice of hotel the next time I visit--good balance of amenities, location and value.

Great location, but rooms are way too small; quite expensive for what it is.

A great location in the center of Athens. Right across the street from Temple of Zeus. The restaurant has great views of the entire cities and hills of Athens. Staff were very attentive and helpful. 100 yards away from a metro stop (Acropolis). The rooms were small but tidy. This hotel is good for anyone visiting Athens. I would highly recommend this hotel and I am quite critical of hotels for the most part.

Great view of the Aacropolis from the rooftop breakfast restaurant. Excellent service from Stella at the front desk, our bags were lost by the airline, & she kept phoning the airport to check on them while we went out for a great dinner at nearby Daphne's restaurant.

Excellent location, friendly staff and a great view from the rooftop restaurant/bar/garden. No need for public transport, very central location.

Hotel is in the perfect location. From the rooftop terrace, (bar and restaurant), you can see the Acropolis, Parliament and the Temple of Zeus. The best view of Athens in the city! The hotel is extremely clean and friendly. Our room was on the 5th floor and had a balcony overlooking the Temple of Zeus! Fabulous at night! Breakfast is amazing! Lots of things from which to choose and sitting out on the rooftop terrace is a perfect way to start the day. Cabs were getting ready to strike the day we were leaving so they arranged for a private car to pick us up and even had a bag breakfast packed for us as we left, which was at 4:30 am! Walked throughout the whole Plaka - no car needed once you've seen all the architectural things to see. Just around the corner from the Acropolis Museum, which is fantastic, by the way! The only thing I could see improved upon is the mattress and the pillows! Both were a bit hard but the location, the view and the staff made up for the shortfalls. I would definitely stay here again.

Really loved this hotel. A very friendly welcome and lovely staff throughout. Well located for the Acropolis, museum, Syntagma Square and other important sites. Short walk to Plaka and all the restaurants. Brilliant!

Excellent location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, maybe a bit cramped. Only real criticism is that the elevators are small and can be crowded at busy times. Good buffet breakfast with a wonderful view.

We had a late arrival and stayed for one night only so didn't spend much time in the hotel. The room was comfortable with a very nice view to the Temple of Zeus but the downside was the street noise. Breakfast on the top floor was one of the best with an impressive view of the surroundings, specially of the Acropolis. Breakfast itself was of very good quality. Would stay there again though maybe on a higher floor or a quieter side.

Rooms were clean and staff helpful. Breakfast was good. Wireless was very slow and reception not great.

The hotel was really beautiful, the room we stayed in were nice and the bed was really comfortable!! The breakfast (with a real good variety of things to eat) was served at the top of the building with a real good view included :) The staff was real nice and helpful. The location of the hotel has both upsides and downsides. The upside is obviously the closeness to Acropolis, some real good shopping districts and restaurants, and the downside we thought was the great road outside our window because it was real noisy in the room!

Hotel is in great location. Although first room smelled like sewage and second room smelled like mold. Roof top restaurant has great view but the smokers are overwhelming.

Stayed two nights, one at the beginning of our trip one at the end. Both times stayed on 7th floor, once with view of the Temple of Olympian Zeus and once with a view of the Acropolis. All I can say is wow, it is worth being on the upper floors to get such a view from you nice patio. If nothing else, eat at the wonderful rooftop resteraunt (terrific food) ro take in the view, or meander up fo a drink at the bar. Little over a block from the metro for incredible convince to airport and attractions. Rooms are wonderful, great bathrooms and nice beds. The breakfast was superb, best yogurt I had in Greece, not to mention the great morning view of the Acropolis!! This is the place to stay if you want amazing views, great service and perfect location in central Athens!!!!

This hotel is in a really good location. Right next to the acropolis and the plaka. From the airport we took the bus for about 45 minutes and then walked 15 minutes since you can not get a taxi. Thier rooftop restaurant has great views and good food.

We chose this hotel as it was close to all the site we wanted to see. Across the road from the Temple of Zeus. Across the road and 1 minutes walk up the road to catch the Hop On, Hop Off Bus. Down the road from Parliament House, the Changing of the Guards and around the corner from the Plaka. Just jump on the "Hop On" bus to take you to the Acropolis and any other site you want to go - easy. The room was clean and comfortable - especially the bed. The restaurant/Bar upstairs has the good view of the Parthenon, the Temple of Zeus and the Stadium that has a light show every night. If staying here you must go up even if it's only a drink. We went to Electra Place for a meal (top class restaurant $$$) but we thought our view from our hotel was much, much better as Electra's view is only the Acropolis. Staff always willing to help. Would go there again and would recommend to anyone going to Athens.

Great location very close to the Acropolis. Standard room was small but adequate if you do not intend to spend much time in the hotel. Excellent breakfast served in lovely roof top restaurant. Staff was very accomodating. Excellent value.

We spent one night in this hotel after a two week cruise. Their rooftop terrace offers extraordinary views of the Acropolis and the Temple of Zeus. Our room was adequate and very clean. The furnishings reminded me of items purchased at Ikea. The breakfast offered considerable variety. The hotel staff were very helpful, especially because they informed us of the impending strike which commenced the day we left.

Clean, great staff, central...difficult to imagine you can get better value for your money

Definitely the right choice for the major sites in Athens. Easy walking to Acropolis, Hadrians Gate, Temple of Venus, Parliament and the lively Straka shopping an dining. Rooftop restaurant for breakfast with the Acropolis in the background is superb. First night dinner with lighted Acropolis in the pic is a lifetime memory. THE BEST Greek salad of all time. Don't miss the New Acropolis Museum around the corner.

Athen's Gate Hotel is centrally located to some great sights in Athens. The Front Desk was wonderful and the room was beautiful. I loved the Balcony overlooking the Temple of Zeus! The upstairs dining was very good and the breakfast was great too. Would stay here again!

Excellent location for all the main tourist sites, a few minutes walk from the Acropolis metro stop, and worth staying at just for the views from the top floor balcony / bar; or even from your own balcony which offer great views of the Acropolis and Temple of Olympian Zeus (across the street). If you've ever stayed in a city before, the noise from main road traffic will not be a big issue. In addition, the hotel is well maintained everywhere and the staff were friendly and helpful. This hotel would be my first choice on any return to Athens.

Excellent location within a short walking distance from the most important attractions. Very good breakfest included and served at the restaurant on top of the hotel building with excellent panoramic views.

This hotel is perfectly situated and has amazing views from the rooftop restaurant. The service in the restaurant is great and the food is amazing! We congratulated the chef on 2 nights of wonderful cuisine. You must stay through the sunset to see the Acropolis at night. The Plaka is just around the corner and the Temple of Zuess is across the street. The only con is that they do not provide free internet in the rooms, but is is available in the lobby on their computers. We booked a half day tour with George's Taxi and it was wonderful. We have used this service before and have always had the most professional service.

Lovely location close to major sights. The roof garden is the best spot - fabulous views. Breakfast buffet was the perfect way to start each day. Budget rooms are little small but were quite clean. Air conditioning didn't work immediatly on first day but one inquiry to front desk resulted in a prompt fix. Staff was quite helpful and eager to assist with an inquiries relating to sights, local services and directions. This hotel is a great deal.

This was the perfect place for a brief stay in Athens. We opened our curtains and there was the Temple of Zeus! And the view of the Acropolis from the roof garden was breathtaking. The room itself, while small (very European) was well appointed and spotless. Best of all, we could walk to both the Plaka for dinner and to the Acropolis the following morning. We highly recommend it.
