Great location and suited our needs, but the air on making a terrible noise at 2 in the morning was a let down.

We only stayed one night but the staff were very friendly and helpful. Don't go for the express breakfast but the buffet looked comprehensive and otherwise everything was great. Would definitely stay again if coming back to Cambridge.

We have often stayed at this hotel.The car parking is free.The hotel is within easy walking distance of the city centre. There is always a warm welcome and the breakfasts are enjoyable. During our recent stay we had a small concern about our room.This was dealt with promptly.In fact the manager took the trouble to find us and make sure the problem had been dealt with to our satisfaction. We were impressed by this. Well done The Gonville!

It is a nice, stand hotel, with a comfortable bed. It has onsite parking and is close to the center of Cambridge so getting to see the colleges is easy.

Stayed at the Gonville with my wife for one night. Good location for the city centre and easy parking. Staff courteous and helpful. Hotel was clean and comfortable if somewhat lacking in character and quite expensive. Very suitable for a business trip when you just need a comfortable bed for the night. Not so suitable for a romantic occasion.

I chose the Gonville as one of two reccomended Hotels for my Wedding guests to stay in as it is well located and the price was comparable to other Cambridge hotels. The rooms were nice, although I had a road-facing one, which was noisy as the traffic ran through the night. Where I was most dissapointed was with the lack of flexibility from the staff in trying to accomodate for my guests. The other hotel I reccomended offered a reduced rate & early check in, availiable right until the date of stay. The Gonville would only hold a handful rooms at the rack rate. Moreover, when I asked if there was a possibility that guests could check in early, there was a flat "no", with no room for negotiating even just half an hour on the time. Considering there were around 25 guests staying there, most for 2 nights, I was dissapointed that the Hotel were not willing to offer to be more helpful.

The hotel is in a very good location and offers free parking and internet. Perhaps a bit overpriced for what it is. Only quibbles - they evidently use air freshener, and there was quite a noisy air conditioning unit near the room - although you wouldn't notice it if you closed the window. Could be hot in summer.

We had a wonderful stay at the Gonville. The location is within walking distance of many of central Cambridge's restaurants, pubs, and points of interest. The rooms are clean. We found the beds extremely comfortable. The staff are very courteous and helpful. We enjoyed the food. They serve some good traditional English grub here: steak and kidney pudding, kippers, yum! Free parking and wi fi were much appreciated.

Grundsätzlich gutes Hotel, jedoch Störungen bei den meisten Sendern des TV-Angebots. WLAN Inklusive was cool ist. Klimaanlage macht starken Lärm sodass man diese abschalten muss um schlafen zu können.

A shame. Room not ready when arrived. Furniture is at least 20 years old, and really really tired. I am surprised that hotels dare renting such poor and old rooms. Pass your way!!
