Hotel is between the Castle and Gellert Hill, the street it on is a bit run down but the hotel is grand and clean. Its very much a place to stay not a place to live, they are a few restaurants behind it for dinner and drinks

It was a nice stay and good value for the money. The staff was very kind. The walk from the hotel to the dead center of the city is quite okay.

Stayed at this hotel for a few days in December and it was perfect for us. The manager and staff were exceptional and couldn't do enough for us. They were very kind and extremely helpful. Very good location across the river from the parliament building with a tram almost outside the door that links to majour routes. Would definately stay here again!

From our arrival, we were impressed with the staff and service. The tram service is very close and provides excellent transportation or connections to every area of the city. Breakfast was delicious. Hotel staff very helpful helping with communications following a pickpocket issue in the city.

The hotel is close to the Danube and Elizabeth Bridge. The staff are friendly and helpful and offer useful advice on restaurants and places to go. The rooms are of a decent size and are spotlessly clean. We had a good breakfast every morning. The air conditioning was a bit noisy but it was having to work overtimedue to the 41 degree heatwave. I don't expect it would normally be a problem. Do not expect luxury but the hotel has everything that most people would want - clean rooms, friendly staff and good location.

This hotel was great in all respects, but one. When I was there it was unusually hot in Budapest, and the AC struggled to keep the room cool enough. Other than that the hotel was great. The staff was very helpful!

It was a vy nice stay during our trip at Budapest. The only prob we faced was we can't find the hotel when we reached because we need to take the right bus and alight at the right place. The hotel staffs are vy helpful n polite. ;-) Our toilet room having a little prob which we cant close it properly but overall the room condition is ok. The breakfast also vy nice... Strongly recommended.

hotel in a very central position close to the river bank. accomodation was perfect for my appointments in a nearby (20m) restaurant taban terasz. despite not advertised, there are a few safe parking places just in fron of the hotel. marco

Orion's an excellent base, super-efficient, clean, comfortable, good breakfast, centrally located for getting around, especially if you take good strolling shoes (it's not itself in the centre of the action, though there are a couple of restaurants and bars not far away). The building itself and interior are perhaps functional rather than charming, but overall there can be absolutely no complaints with Hotel Orion as a base to explore Budapest.

Hotel with a warm welcome and helpful staff. Rooms small but clean and comfortable. Breakfasts very good, coffee and tea available 24 hours. Position near the Elizabeth Bridge. Easy to explore Buda from hotel. Would highly recommend hotel and its staff.

A very pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Room was clean and well equipped. Breakfast was very good with delicious fried bacon and eggs cooked to order. Location is good for historic centre of Buda but the majority of restaurants, activities etc are in Pest across the bridge so guests need to decide which side of the river they want to be on. Fifteen minute walk to Gellert Spa which I can thoroughly recommend.

well located on the Buda side. Less than 100yds to the Danube. Easy walk to the Pest side of the river. Friendly and attentive staff, nice breakfast. Only real complaint would be the a/c.It was barely able to keep the room tolerable. Would not recommend staying here in warm weather.

The exterior of the hotel could do with a bit of face-lift, however the interior of the hotel is spotlessly clean and whilst the room and in particular the bathroom was small it was more than adequate for a sightseeing break. The hotel is very close to all the sights of Budapest and we were able to walk to everywhere we wanted to go. The continental breakfast was very good and there is someone to cook your eggs for you, which is nice. There is no facility to make tea or coffee in the rooms, however, the dining room is available all day where you can make tea and coffee. There is no bar in the hotel but the rooms have a mini bar. The hotel staff were very friendly and pleasant and had good English. All in all this hotel is great value for money and whilst it is not a luxury hotel it is a great base for seeing Budapest. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a central, inexpensive and clean accommodation for a city break

Nice boutique type hotel. Clean and well maintained. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Great restaurants close by. Within walking distance of downtown, turkish bathhouses, the citadel, buses and trolleys. A good deal. .

I'm a single female who doesn't mind walking, so it was perfect. It's located about 2 miles from the Keltic station on the other side of the Elizabeth's bridge. Every day, I saw the river, the bridges, the Gilbert Hill. its' within walking distance of EVERYTHING, including the Szyechi bathhouse and Castles. The breakfast is amazing- fresh eggs, fresh juice, tea selection. The staff is so friendly. The rooms are big, tvs, radios, free internet, large bathrooms. Its near a church so there are some bells, but they arent too disruptive. It's close to a trams stops as well, if you don't want to walk.

Clean. Modern. Comfortable. Accomodating Staff. Tea at anytime. Great Breakfast and nice room. They'll make you an egg dish of your choice. Maids were outstanding. Quiet at night. Two trams converge outside. Easy and quick to Pest. (If you are only staying a night or two, you should book in Pest unless its Buda you really want to see.) For the price, the amenities and location can't be beat.

The hotel is located in a great location, within walking distance of most anything you want to see. The bathroom is very small but functional, staff was very helpful and pleasant, location, again was great, and will go back there if ever in Budapest.

visited nov 2010. i found the hotel very clean,room was spacious and comfortable,breakfast good and the staff friendly and helpful .located on the buda side of the river and in walking distance of the castle and the ciyt centre.over all this is a small friendly hotel in a quiet location but close to all amenities with frequent trams and buses running with stops less than 50 metres away.i give it ten out of ten and fully recommend to anyone.

All in all an excellent choice for a short city trip to Budapest: friendly and competent staff, great filling breakfast, clean rooms, convenient location in walking distance from major attractions (bus and tram stops are also not far away...). The only negative point are the maybe somewhat "thin" doors and room walls: if noisy people arrive late it wakes up the whole floor... We would choose this hotel again if we ever come back to Budapest.

I really can't fault the room, which was comfortable and spacious, or the breakfast which had choices for all tastes, but the location in Buda isn't ideal. There are bus and tram lines close by, but only two or three restaurants and those at the expensive end, and few shops south of the chain bridge. The hotel also backs onto a church with a bell which chimes the hours, which may not suit everybody.

An enjoyable place to stay. Relatively inexpensive, friendly staff and excellant location

The Orion is a small hotel 1 block from the Danube and tram stop and walking distance to the Citadel, Liberty Monument, Taban Church and Museum. The staff is friendly and trilingual (English, German and Hungarian). Rooms are small but clean and modern. Breakfast was GREAT.

Location was excellent for accessing the Buda Palace, museums and Fisherman's Bastion. Easy walking distance to sites in Pest via either the Elizabeth or Chain bridge. Very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast options; loved the cheese omelets and selection of breads.

This hotel is on the Buda side. it takes about 20 minutes to cross the bridge by foot. If you are not able to walk for that long at a moderate pace this hotel may not work for you, as the closest metro is about that far in walking distance as well. The hotel was what I would consider to be a 3 Star class. It was clean, and the staff was very helpful. The hotel has cameras in the lobby monitoring the street if you bring your car. They also lock the front door at some point in the night. This neighborhood was safe,so I would not take the security as a warning flag. The hotel also has a fridge selling bottles of water, cokes, and beer. This is near the lobby. They also keep a desktop computer in the breakfast area free of charge to use. I warn you that the keyboard is Hungarian, and make sure yo know your passwords if it has special characters, memorization of your own keys at home will not help you. The hotel also provides bacon and eggs, but you should ask for this service. There are cheeses, bread, meat, tomatoes, and cream cheese to chose from. You have a choice of many teas, coffee, and apple or orange juice. The water and juice was safe to drink. As I am American and took the chance of finding out if it was safe, and I never got sick from the water in the breakfast room. The sick water I never tried. The Room was renovated, but the decor was what reminded me of the 1980's. The carpets, sheets, and room was over all clean. I will warn you though- do not drink from the glasses in the bathroom. I have to say this was the biggest fault of the hotel. I saw residual toothpaste/saliva in one of the cups. The next day there was less in the cup. I believe house keeping rinses only. The only other thing I would change is the mattress was too firm for my liking- but that is relative to each individual, and I would have a safety box put in the room. I really enjoyed the mini fridge- the prices for drinks was comparable to every where else in town.

except for the smallness of the room, the hotel was fine. three stars is what it is.

I ENJOYED MY STAY IN BUDAPEST HOTEL WAS VERY NICE AND RELAXING. STAFF ARE EASYGOING AND HELPFUL.

the hotel was very clean, recently painted etc, Good breakfast. Nicely situated for public transport to both buda and pest sides. Couple of good restaurants nearby (recommend Sailors Inn restaurant).

What a surprise! A very reasonable, well managed hotel with modest but clean and comfortable rooms. The hotel staff was friendly and quickly responsive to all our needs. They provided free internet service and breakfast which was served in a very comfortable cafe just off the lobby. It was excellent. Also, the hotel is tucked in amidst 18th century buildings one of which was occupied by a very good courtyard resturant. I'll stay again on my next visit.

Nice, small, cheapish hotel just on the Buda side of Budapest. Very easy to walk into town. Great restaurant 50 yards from the Hotel.

Clean hotel, good location, and good price

Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the Elizabeth Bridge on the Buda side of Budapest. It is also very near Buda Hill and the Castle Region. We walked all over and easily crossed the E.Bridge to get over to the Pest side. Staff at this hotel, especially the breakfast manager, are extemely helpful and nice. The breakfast was amazing. They make eggs to order, something you don't get often in Europe. They also give you an entire pot of coffee...which is far better then those little 1 cup coffee machines. Excellent hotel for the money.

El Hotel, me pareció todo perfecto, limpieza, atención del personal... La única pega que encuentro, es que me hubiera gustado el alojamiento en la zona de Pest, porque es donde está la zona de marcha.

Ett bättre bemötande är svårt att få! Bra information, personalen helt underbara. Staden med sin arkitektur var en upplevelse, att vi hade tur med vädret var ett pluss.

Tack för ett mycket trevligt bemötande! All personal var mycket hjälpsamma och trevliga, speciellt tack till "Ludvig" som hjälpte till med det mesta, t.o.m. körde till mysig restaurang! Vi kan rekommendera detta hotell men tänk på att för att komma till "Pest-sidan" får man gå över Elisabetbron så man får sig en rejäl promenad varje morgon. Vi var Mycket nöjda!

Buona la posizione in una zona tranquilla,facilmente raggiungibile, pulito e tranquillo. Buone le camere un po' piccolo il bagno Abbondante la colazione a pagamento.Ha tutto quello che serve anche se non c'è il lusso. Personale disponibile e cortese.

Hotellet ligger på en underbar plats nära Donau mellan Eisabethbron och Kedjebron .Man kan promenera till slottet och centrum. Personalen är snäll och trevlig.Matsalen lugn och mysig och med riktigt bra frukost. Rummet har allt man behöver för att känna sig nöjd.

Jag bodde på hotellet tillsammans med en kompis. Läget var viktigast för oss men priset hade också betydelse när vi valde hotell. Rummet var litet men rent och trivsamt. Hotellpersonalen var mycket tillmötesgående och service minded. Frukosten man kunde köpa till var över förväntan och man stod sig mätt länge. Jag rekommenderar detta hotell varmt till den som vill bo centralt i Budapest men som ändå är prismedveten.

Haben 4 Nächte im Orion gewohnt und sind total begeistert. Das Personal war superfreundlich und hilfsbereit-und zwar ohne Ausnahme. Die Lage in einer Seitenstrasse zwischen Kettenbrücke und Elisabethbrücke optimal. Die Zimmer sind geräumig, sauber und haben alles, was man braucht. Das Frühstück war ebenfalls gut, Eier in jeder erdenklichen Form wurden nach Wunsch frisch zubereitet. Wir sind rundum zufrieden und würden das Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen!
