From the road, or highway actually, this hotel doesn't look like much. Don't let that fool you, it's a very nice place to spend the night with good quiet rooms. The restaurant was also very good.

I arrived at about 10:00 PM on the shuttle bus from the train station. I am elderly, and recently had surgery, so am slow and need assistance. The desk clerk was very friendly, but told me there was no bellman. I would have to find my own way to my room, which was at the end of the hall in the 800 series. I had to take 2 elevators, and go up an inclne. As I had all my luggage, it was quite challenging, and took more than 15 minutes. I got to the room to find that the telephone did not connect me with the desk (to request help for the AM), so I had to do it all over again early in the morning to make the 6 AM bus to Schiphol. What a tough way to start a long journey! The hotel is not as close to the terminal as advertised. I wish I had known that I would have the difficulty, and I would have asked for a special disability room. I would not recommend that any of my friends from Florida stay there before a flight. The room itself was lovely, but the inconvenience of the route to the sleeping areas, and the two elevators, makes it a poor choice for a retiree.

The hotel was very elegant and had excellent ambience. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The frequent shuttle service from the hotel to Schiphol Airport was excellent. Breakfast buffet is very good. The standard rooms did not have kettles or a tiny refridgerator which I did expect.

This hotel is close to the airport and the bus is a great asset, which makes the location great.

I am very glad to have chosen Van der Valk Schiphol A4. The staff was very courteous, friendly and informative. The room was excellent; clean, comfortable and spacious. The breakfast buffet was incredible quality with plenty of selection. The shuttle bus was easy to find and was a short but comfortable ride. We would definitely stay again at this hotel.

The hotel was convenient and very comfortable. The only drawback was no room service, as we had been delayed by snow and everywhere was closed.

Flying from Sweden back to San Francisco...I was required to stay overnight in Amersterdam. I looked for a hotel near the airport that had a convenient shuttle service and restaurant. altho9ugh married I was traveling alone and security was an issue for me as well as convenience. This hotel met all of my requirements. The restaurant I was told was under construction and the staff apologized for any inconvenience but I found none...the restaurant was lovely, the staff attentive an I was seated at a lovely window table. The prices were a little on the high side but not outrages and the wine pricing was comparible to other restaurant I've eaten in. Wi-Fi was frustrating for me (perhaps my tablet) and their internet service was pricey for 15 minutes. However, I found everything else to be outstanding. Thank you....Anna S.

They tried to fake us from the very first moment, they charged 12% of taxes instead 6%. The toilet smelled like pee, we had to request for toilet tissue 3 times in 2 hours and the recepcionist replied in a bad mood. Amsterdam has plenty of swindlers, they ruined the last part of our trip. I won't definitively be back in Netherlands.

The hotel was used as a last night stop before an early flight. The room for the 4 of us was large and clean. It opened up on to the grass so our little one could play right outside the room and chase bunnies! Nice pool, and food/gas steps away (KFC/ BURGER KING) The free parking is a plus! WOuld definately stay again. The only negative...we were 20 minutes early for check in and they wanted to charge us 15 euro....needless to say we just hung out for 20 minutes!! odd!!

The hotel is nice, but not very close to Schiphol. The GPS in the rental car could not find it. Located next to a highway rest area with a service station and restaurants. Make sure you fill up the tank before going to the hotel because you cannot access the service station from the hotel unless you drive the wrong way on a couple of one way streets.

The shuttle bus goes ~ every 40 minutes and the drive from the airport ends up being 10-25 minutes. the hotel is huge. They have large banquet rooms and the night I was there a large party maybe a wedding was going on with a nightclub in one room with very loud music that I could still hear in my room which was 2 floors up. I slept OK however and thought the hotel was OK. The decor in the rooms is a little tired. Not my favorite hotel but I did get a good night's rest and the shuttle bus ran on schedule.

Great lobby, great staff, great shuttle to and from airport, great restaurants in the area, nice heated pool. The room was a little dated in regards to carpet, and bed too soft for my liking, but the room is spacious. I would not hesitate to stay there again if needed a place to spend the night before an early morning flight from amsterdam. Not that close to the city of amsterdam.

Travelled with an overnight layover before a transatlantic flight. Accompanied by husband and two kids (7, 10). Quad room was generously sized and beds were comfortable. We took the shuttle back to the airport to catch the train into Amsterdam, wandered around and caught a train/shuttle back to the hotel. That part wasn't quite as convenient as staying in town, but the ease of luggage transfer and the short shuttle ride for the AM flight was appreciated. Shuttles run every 40 minutes and it's about a 10 min ride to Schipol. Room was v quiet despite location on freeway and so near flight path. Large bathtub and separate shower, lots of built in storage. Overall a comfortable stay. Didn't have a chance to check out the pool, but I would expect it was fine. Service at desk was friendly and efficient. Took less than a minute to check out. Carpet was a bit worn and the AC emitted a high pitched squeal, but really a no-stress 24-hour stay in NL.

Very nice hotel for price and convenient shuttle to/from the airport. My wife, teenage daughters and I stayed in one of the family rooms and loved the size and layout of the room. The negatives were that the bathroom smelled like stale urine/beer and the pool temperature was frigid.

Excellent Hotel

It has been awhile since we returned home,giving me more time to think of our stay. I give this hotel a "5" in almost all categories. I especially loved the breakfast buffet. Expensive, but such an array of Dutch foods, meats, cheese and baked goods.

1. wi-fi for payment( it is bad) 2. Far from Amsterdam but shuttle service to-from airport 10~15 min so not a big issue. 3. Huge hotel but it does not mean you will get high quality service. But I don't mean this hotel is bad, but if you are thinking this hotel is nice by just looking through hotel explanation in website, it might be wrong.

Good hotel. Not close to anything (it's literally in a highway service plaza), but shuttle service to Schiphol Airport is convenient and reliable. Very accommodating staff. AMAZING brand new pool and wellness center. Definitely check it out.

I liked the ease of getting to and from the airport with the hotel shuttle. The hotel is clean and the staff was good.

There was no coffee or tea or extra toilet paper in the room. There was also nowhere to hang your towel in the room where the toilet was. The carpets looked used & abused however, the rooms were enormous. Lots of room for children to play. Some of the lamps were also not working but overall a comfortable place to stay. Busiest hotel I've ever seen. If you don't know the parrot image that accompanies the hotel sign when viewed from the highway A4, then you may miss the turn-off. The building should have A4 on it so that you can see it from the highway.

A great hotel with plush comfortable rooms and nice accommodations! It was a little further from the Schiphol Airport than I expected since I was only there for layover, but shuttle service was good as it wasn't too far. The most cost effective way to get to downtown Amsterdam was to take the shuttle back to the airport, then take the train into Central Station. If returning late (after 11:30pm), you'll need to take train back to airport, then a cab to the hotel. Cab fare is expensive. Recommend.

There was an extra fee for early check-in and the hotel was definitely not 4 stars...2.5, but not 4. Also, they did not clean the room the second day.

Non smoking room was full of cigarette burn marks in furniture and carpets, patios full of cigarette buds, this in 2 rooms! No nasal tissues supplied. As a contrast, dining food and service was excellent. Staff was very polite.

Very convenient shuttle service to Schiphol. Attractive and comforatable accomodations. Reasonable rates.

We stayed here for 4 days and it was great. Location is fantastic, so close to A4 to visit every major tourist location and else. Great breakfast buffet and wonderful restaurant.

The hotel was quiet and comfortable. When I had trouble with the internet, the staff was incredibly nice. As a woman, traveling alone, I felt really safe.

My friend and I booked this hotel when we were in a bind the night before we stayed there. We had booked some rooms earlier in our trip through hotels.com and were able to get one free night. We ended up paying a ridiculously cheap rate for our room. The staff was great and courteous. The bartender was hilarous. They have a great restaurant, bar, and internet cafe all located in the hotel. Although they house a lot of people, the staff makes sure to make you feel like you are their most important guest. There is a food court located a couple hundred feet away from the hotel, and a free shuttle to and from the airport. You can hop a train from there to Amsterdam Centraal and the hotel gives you a free map and tour guide of that area. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel is a 15minutes drive from the airport with the hotel shuttle.The shuttle leaves every forty minutes to and from schiphol.The hotel staff was very kind and helpful.The hotel restaurant and bar was also excellent with a wide variety of dishes on the menu.Television was free of charge and for 5euros you can use the internet.The room was clean with a walk in shower and a private patio with two chairs.There is an indoor swimming pool.There are restaurants outside the hotel which is a two minute walk if you did not wanted to dine in the hotel restaurant. We enjoyed our two day stay at this hotel and will recommend it highly.

Camera familiare molto spaziosa con 2 letti matrimoniali. Il bagno non era all'altezza di un hotel 4 stelle. Il percorso per raggiungere la camera era piuttosto lungo e tortuoso (2 ascensori, lunghi corridoi di cui uno con una porta ad apertura comandata dalla chiave elettronica della camera). Very large family room with 2 double beds, The bathroom was not align with a 4 stars hotel. The path to reach the bedroom was rather long (2 lifts, long corridors of which one had a door driven by the bedroom key card).

Joustava ja ystävällinen palvelu. Ilmaiset bussikuljetukset lentokentälle erittäin hyvä. Monipuolinen aamiainen ja viihtyisä aamiaissali plussaa, tilava huone. Kylpyhuoneeseen pitäisi laittaa lisää pyyhekoukkuja tai lavuaarin pöydän reunaan tanko, johon käsipyyhkeen olisi voinut laittaa. Kolmelle ihmiselle liian vähän pyyhekoukkuja. Hissin puuttuminen miinusta sekä tietokonehuoneessa olevan tulostimen epäkunto. Ei ollut mitään lappua, että tulostin epäkunnossa, ota yhteyttä respaan.
