I have stayed att all the great hotels in Zurich, but Helmhaus is better at half the cost or less. No interminable corridors, no checkout queues, no surly staff. The location is perfect, very quiet, good bed, squaky clean, great hot & cold breakfast buffet, Bloomberg & CNBC tv. No room serivce, but Kronehalle is a couple of minutes away. Missing: Financial Times & Nespresso machine in room.

We were there for New Years. The staff is so helpful with restaurant rez, etc. the rooms are totally new, a little small, but with great view of lake and fireworks. Great free breakfast as well. Location perfect for shopping, tourism etc.

This hotel was in a wonderful location -- in Old Town, near the river and the trams, but walking distance to places you just want to wander through -- and the people were very helpful and pleasant.

overall nice and clean, but little variation at the breakfastbuffet, plus very noisy from the street when window opened in the room.

A good clean hotel in the center of the Zurich old town area. Very close (walking distance) to the business center of the city and provided a good clean stay. Prices in Zurich are very high but the hotel provides all the proper amenities including Breakfast and internet access.

Perfect location, the room not large but charming, and genuinely friendly and unfailingly helpful staff.

My daughter and I had a most enjoyable stay in this lovely hotel. The helpfulness of the staff was amazing with phone calls being made on our behalf to book the next stage of our holiday. Lovely, thoughtful touches throughout made it feel more like a private house party. Terrific buffet breakfast. The superb location meant we called in for a coffee as the day went on, changed for the evening etc. without feeling we had not made the most of every minute of our stay in Zurich.

Convenient location within walking distance to old town and to Banhofstrasse and lake. Clean and comfortable. Helpful front desk staff. Nice european breakfast. It seems that star rating system for european hotel is different than in the US. In the US I think this would be a 3.5 star. Zurich is expensive. This hotel was expensive, but in my budget and I would stay here again and recommend it.

This was my 2nd stay at Helmhaus. Just as good as the 1st. Staff are fabulous and the hotel is in good location and very clean & comfortable. I was able to leave all my luggage for the entire day after my departure till my flight late at night. I will return again for another stay in the future.

Fabulous location.... a few meters from the Helmhaus stop on the # 4 tram line. Nice & small. Very clean. Lovely smiling, helpful staff. Wonderful coffee whenever you require it. But....... as with all hotels in Zurich.... expensive. I would stay there again when next in Zurich.

I have visited Zurich on numerous occasions, and Hotel Helmhaus impressed me so much! The staff were excellent in their service and their desire to please. The rooms were very comfortable and clean, and the hotel's location is very convenient to the center of Zurich. Next time I come, I will book my reservation at Hotel Helmhaus. Monique

Small hotel but outstanding service for a hotel this size. At check in, we were offered a glass of wine while we waited. Staff helped move luggage,gave info for the area,and helped any way they could.Rooms were not super large but somehow they managed to make them feel that way. large bathroom with shower and loads of pressure. big closet and many drawers.And you use a (gasp) real key made out of metal.Now the best part..Location. This hotel is in the heart of the city.just off the river.tram out the front door..sightseeing boats on the lake 10 min walk, shopping all around. 20CHF to the hotel from the main train station. This hotel is an ideal place to hang you hat and go sightseeing.I suspect it is ideal for a business stay as well

The hotel is right in the middle of the downtown area. We were able to walk to all the shops and restaurants. The train is a cab ride away. The room was great and the A/C was strong (a change from other european hotels we'd stayed at). The staff was very friendly and recommended restaurants to suit our taste and budget. Our only concern was that when we got back early one day, the maid service was cleaning our room and our door was wide open with no one in sight. We were in our room for about 5 minutes alone before anyone came back. They apologized but still left us feeling uneasy about the security of our things.

This modern hotel is in an excellent location in the old city. Very close to the tram and walking distance to lots of great shops and resturants. They had the best breakfast of the 5 hotels we used during our two week trip across Europe. Very nice and helpful staff as well. Only downside was small room and bath. Modern desk chair not comfortable.

Great location within walking distances of all major attractions; great staff which was extremely friendly and helpful; fantastic breakfast included; very comfortable rooms. No question we will stay again.

Small, very centrally located hotel in the old town. Room and bathroom in good size. Plenty of storage in the room. Very clean. Quee-size bed was quite hard. Very professional & friendly staff. A little noisy surroundings (restaurants, bars, shops and some traffic) so you need to keep windows shut during night-time due to noise. Air-conditioning available. A small but fully sufficient breakfast buffet was included in the price. Price is on the high side, but so are all Zürich hotels. Compared to other hotels in Zürich, price is definitely OK. I would definiyely stay there again.

perfect location. Everything is walkable. Rooms are perfect...not fancy...just homey....lovely breakfast included. beds comfortable...well lit....lots of hot water. Staff was very helpful and kind. would love to stay there again.

We absolutely loved the location of this hotel. It was a great place to stay. It was right in the middle of old town and close to the lake and train. It had many shops and restaurants and outdoor cafes, including a Starbucks. The hotel was very comfortable and spacious. I would definitely stay there again. It was the best hotel out of the 4 we stayed at in Switzerland and France. You couldn't get a better location, right in the mix of things. The staff was very helpful, they gave us wake up calls, and ordered a town car to take us to the train station. There was a very nice breakfast buffet and also coffeen in the lobby whenever you wanted it. I have no complaints about this hotel. I would recommend it to anyone. THanks for the service.

Helmhouse was centrally located, very clean, very comfortable nice breafast. We would have expected a larger room for the money in the States, but for Zurich this was a great property. Everything in Zurich is over priced so this hotel turned out to be a bargain for Zurich. 15 minute walk to the train station. Tram to the station stops right by the hotel. Many restaurants in the area. Can walk to all the sites. People at front desk very helpful.

I was in Zurich on business. I stayed at 3 different hotels in the course of my 3 week visit, and Helmhaus was by far the best of the three. I actually had two separate stays here, and so I saw two different rooms. The staff is very friendly, they have a great free breakfast spread - not just the simple stuff, this was a complete meal. Their free internet is also excellent - easy to connect to and very fast. The rooms are small (but that's common in Europe), but the beds are very comfortable, they have nice TVs with good offerings in many languages, and the hotel is quiet and in an excellent location. I heartily recommend this hotel.

I enjoyed my stay in a small hotel with a "home'y" feeling in a very convenient location. Both the room and the staff made my stay pleasant.

Hotel was really great, and was in an excellent location in easy walking distance to most places that you'd want to see. Highly recommended. Nothing negative to report.

Given the high prices of hotels in Switzerland, this hotel offered reasonable value for the money. The room was larger than most, with nice bathroom. Breakfast was simple but good quality. Hotel staff was friendly.

used for the first time for a business trip. well located hotel, helpful staff, clean nad tidy - would stay again

sehr angenehmes Personal; gepflegtes Haus, das gleichzeitig einen interessanten architektonischen Eindruck gibt vom kleinräumigen Leben in Zürich zu früheren Zeiten (ehemaliges Wohnhaus der Ehefrau Zwinglis!) Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten, Läden, Restaurants in Gehdistanz.

Dejligt lille hotel i centrum og i nærheden af Bellevue pladsen. Fin betjening og morgenmad. Eneste minus var at der var uro og larm i værelset over mit fra kl.1 til kl. 4 om natten, hvilket forstyrrede min nattero. Det må være dårlig isolering af gulvene hhv. lofterne.

D'une manière générale compte tenu de la qualité de l'hôtel dans son ensemble et de ses aménagements (parties communes et chambre) et des services offerts, il me semble que cet hôtel est plutôt à classer dans la catégorie 3* bien tenu plutôt que 4*. L'accueil est très chaleureux mais le personnel ne va jamais aux devants des attentes des clients. L'isolation des chambres est très insuffisante (on entend marcher et ronfler d'où la distribution de petit chaussons dont l'utilisation est demandée par l'hôtel). La rénovation utilise des matériaux de qualité très approximative et on sent que c'est le mode économique qui a été choisi au détriment d'un vrai confort. Le mobilier est en fait très élémentaire ainsi que la décoration. Pas de vrai lobby ni de bar donc pas d'endroit pour se poser en dehors de la chambre. Petit déjeuner buffet sans grand effort (sauf thé feuille ce qui devient de plus en plus rare). La salle de bain est restée dans son jus et aurait mérité d'être rafraichie de manière plus complète. Produits disponibles bio mais de qualité très moyenne et disponibilité de type 3*. Le choisir qu'en cas de promotion car peut alors être un bon qualité/prix.

Hotel Helmhaus vastasi korkeita odotuksia muuten paitsi huoneen pienen koon ja ikkunoiden näköalan osalta. Sijainti on Zurichissa täydellinen kaupungin vilkkaalla ykkösalueella, mutta kuitenkin hiljaisessa paikassa. Ravintolat ja kaupat ovat aivan nurkan takana. Sänky oli erittäin mukava ja kylpyhuone juuri remontoitu. Langaton internet oli nopea ja toimi hyvin. Aamiainen pesi monet neljän tähden hotellit ja tunnelma oli hyvä kuten palvelukin.

Very good hotel in Zurich. Great location but surprisingly for Switz....the service of the staff is very good and commendable. The fact that breakfast is included is nice. Rooms are comfortable. Would highly recommend the hotel.

O hotel é muito bem localizado, mas o fato de não possuir estacionamento, obriga ao hóspede estacionar o carro a mais de um quilômetro, pagando mais de 30 euros por noite. O café da manhã é muito bom e atenção dos funcionários é excepcional.

Gut : die Lage, mitte in der Altstadt. Schlecht : Zimmer war recht klein und die Möbel ziemlich veraltet. Sonst alles OK..

superservice, smarte, hyggelige og raske ansatte, bra standard og samtidig belligenhet (10 min å gå fra sentralsstasjon/flytog gjennom den mest kjente shopping gaten i Zurich) som passer til alt fra privat til business reiser; man har 300 m til Paradeplats, 100 m til de mest kjente severdighetene og 50 meter til Zurichsee for jogging eller tur i vakre grønne omgivelser, dette må være det beste valget i Zurich, bra design på rommene og bra vinduer som demper lyd, anbefale, hyggelig frokost og kjapp internett inkl

Dejligt rent og fint hotel med perfekt beliggenhed i Old City og venlig service. Vores værelse og bad var lille men det fungerede i den forlængede weekend vi boede på Helmhaus. Morgenmorgen var super og der blev serveret bobler til om søndagen ;o)

I've been at this hotel twice now and was very happy both times. The hotel is in a great location (close to the lake and in the middle of the old town) and I was able to walk to my meetings. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If I could think of a negative it would be that the bed could be a bit better but to me this is just a detail. I will be staying here again next time I am in Zurich

L'Helmaus è in verità un "bed & breakfast ". Gentile l'accoglienza, camere pulite ed essenziali, buona la colazione in ambiente "familiare". La location è ottima per soggiorni in centro con l'unico neo di avere il parcheggio a 10 min. di cammino... In definitiva si tratta di un buon albergo il cui collocamento fra i 4 stelle pare essere una forzatura.
