Alixares Hotel - غرناطة

This hotel is easy to get to - just follow the signage to the Alambra. The Consierge spoke English and was very helpful. We did not eat at the on-site restaurant, but did have our morning cafe and toast at the bar. The convenience of being across from the Alhambra was very nice, but the walk to the Albaycin, though a beautiful walk, was up and down a steep hill. All in all a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend this hotel to others.

Good location. Basic hotel with a basic slightly dated room. Room had a brick wall for a view, otherwise was clean and good enough for a short stay. Breakfast was nice and always worth it. No parking in hotel so had to pay discounted 14 euro a day across the road. Pound to euro exchange rate was a joke. They were offering 1 euro for 1 pound.

Very clean, friendly hotel with perfect location next to Alhambra. Staff had good English, excellent suggestions for visiting Alhambra, finding restaurants. Room was entirely acceptable for rate, excellent value for money. 5 minute walk to Alhambra. Good bus service. Lovely morning breakfast.

This hotel is right across the street from the Alumbra. There is also a nice walking path down into the center of the city. The location was great. And the breakfast included was very good. I would recommend this hotel and stay there again when I get back to Granada.

Hotel Alixares scores massively on ease of location after a tiring day - follow signs to the Alhambra and just miss the car park and you are at the hotal. accomodation very competent - Reasonably priced. Staff friendly and helpful. Downside - very expensive parking but possibly typical for the area. Would not recommend breakfast or evening meal.

Like an grand old lady, has seen better days!!....but What a Location!!...right next to Alhambra...a great walk into the city!!...Really good breakfast...pool hours too limited!

Location is close to the Alhambra. This means that there is a 15 minute downhill walk to Granada downtown (uphill back of course). Staff speaks english well. Parking on the Alhambra parking with a small discount. Beds a bit more comfortable than usual for spanish hotels.

Had a great stay here - so handy for the Alhambra virtually next door - hotel offers discounted parking using the actual Alhambra car park. Nice walk through a park into Granada centre and great breakfast available in our inclusive deal. Clean, comfortable and helpful staff. Recommended

We are very much happy to stay this Hotel. Staff were helpful, overall clean but Breakfast is very expensive, 14.00 Euro too much.

Quite location a 15 minute walk from the crowds in central Granada. And a 2 minute walk to the beautiful Alhambra. A very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable hotel and room. I can't wait to return.

The hotel was in a perfect location across the road from the entrance to The Alhambra & with frequent buses to & from the city.The hotel was clean & the staff friendly & helpful. The evening buffet was disappointing & I would not recommend it, but I would certainly recommend the hotel

This is a terrific hotel that is literally next to the Alhambra. It's about a 10 minute bus ride from town but we didn't mind that one bit. There is a look out beside the hotel that offers breathtaking views. We would recommend this hotel for sure.

Location. Location. Location. Extremely close to the Alhambra. Restaurant on the 4th floor deck had great food, great service, and great views. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is just a block from Alhambra with an easy to catch bus that takes you down into the city (& back) for 1.20 euros per trip. Very, very convienent for a visit to Granada. Hotel parking was full the 2 nights we stayed so we had to park at the very nearby Alhambra parking area. This was offered at the same price as hotel parking (about 14 euro per night) through an arrangement the hotel had with the city parking. There were few breakfast options in the immediate area so we paid the 8 euros each for the breakfast buffet and were pleased with the variety and quantity of items available.

Hotel was convenient to the Alhambra and a quick walk to the town. Had a nice pool which was nice in the hot summer. Very busy hotel.

Perfect location for the sight s in Granada. 2 minutes to the Alhambra. 10 minutes to town on a beautiful walking path. Will always remember walking back from town at night the ambiance of the lights and the forest. Great stay.

IF you are travelling by car here is an important TIP...the main Autovia has an EXIT 132 that will take you to a secondary road to the hotel After passing through a tunnel a roundabout lies ahead, take the one road to the left the rises up the hill. Very nice hotel. However, staff not at all helpful: failed to inform us about the closure of parcatically the entire city due to teh "feria" that was going on at the time of our visit. This made us waste an entire day: we ended up leaving without having seen the cathedral and a couple of museums. The fact that the hotel is located very close to the Alhambra seemed like a great plus when I booked it. When we got there however, it was difficult to figure out transportation and it turned out it was far from everything else. We ended up having to take the bus a lot more than I like to when I visit a city.The quality of the food in the hotel's restaurant was acceptable but nothing more.

If your looking for a good clean hotel close to the Alhambra in Granada then this is it. The Hotel is easy to find just follow signs for the Alhambra on the motorway and the hotel is directly opposite the large Alhambra car park. Park you car in the Alhambra car park (sections 1&2 are closest but usualy full it is not a long walk from 3&4) Ask the receptionist for a discount ticket and you get approx. 2 Euros discount. There is no street parking but you can unload and load your luggage at the pull in entrance to the hotel. The hotel room was clean and comfortable but the view was of other room windows into a small sqaure courtyard. This was the most disappointing aspect of the room. However the swiming pool was great after a hot morning walk a virtually empty between 10 -4pm then the groups of kids arrive. it is a busy hotel with tour parties but this is to be expected. The breakfast is great loads of variety in a very busy dining area. You can either walk up and down a very steep hill (but pleasant walk) to the old town. About 15mins down 20 mins back depending on how you feel. There is a very good up and down bus sevice but we couldn't find the return stop so we walked. The reception staff if not to busy are very helpful with most questions. Give yourself a good hour before you enter your time slot for the Palace and don't miss your time slot. Take a hat as you will have to queue in the sun for entry to the Palace. The Alhambra is needless to say brilliant and we spent four hours on our visit and it was great to have the hotel directly opposite the entrance to either jump into the pool or have a shower. I can definately recommend this hotel simply for it's convenience of its position for visiting the Alhambra.

fantastic location opposite Alhambra. If you are driving you follow signs to Alhambra, you need to go around some bollards at the last roundabout this is not to clear and we missed it a couple of times.

maybe 200 yards from the ticket gate of the Al-Ahambra. Good bar area and restaurant. This 4 star is closer to 5 stars than a 3 stars. For the price, I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else.

I wouldn't stay there if you want to get a good feeling for Granada. Full of tour bus loads of older British tourists. The food was awful and the staff in the dining room were rude.

The staff couldn't be friendlier or more helpfull! The restaurant Barbacoa on the rooftop has beautiful views and marvelous food. And the pool, on another rooftop, is the perfect refresher after seeing the Alhambra and rest of Granada. Three single beds were a bit of a tight squeeze, but who spends time in the room anyway?

Knowing we only had 24 hours in Granada, and that the Alhambra was at the top of our list, we needed a reasonably priced, comfortable hotel within walking distance of the Alhambra. The service at Alixares was impeccable and gracious, parking was reasonable, the rooms were large (no carpets!! wonderful!), air conditioned, quiet, near the rooftop pool, and within 5 minutes of the Alhambra as well as very near gift shops and a picturesque plaza lined with sidewalk restaurants and adorned with street musicians. Bus service was available for sights further afield. It couldn't have been better.

The only good thing about the hotel is its location. Otherwise it is noisy, you can hear people in nearby rooms. At 4am the staff was moving chairs upstairs and it could be heard two floors away. When we got to the room there was no towels. When we asked for some the lady was rude and told us we could only have 2 not 3 bath towels. The parking they say they have was full and we had to park a block or two away. I would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel was perfectly pleasant, staff were friendly, we chose it for the location, which was right opposite Alhambra , the only place we intended to visit in Grenada, and .. the location was perfect. The only problem we had was that the shower broke, fortunately still usable, but a little disappointing !

Very well situated for the principal entrance to the Alhambra (five minute amble down the hill), on a curving, leafy, steep section of the road that rises out of the old quarter of town - Albacin. Walking into town is an enjoyable 10-15 minute stroll down the hill. The return journey is much more arduous, especially in the summer heat, and you would be well-advised to hail a cab (about Eur5-8 from the town). Internally, the hotel is looking tired, but not without its charming kitsch touches. Lobby is tidy and well air-conditioned, with Moorish tiling, wood panelling and a marble floor. Room corridors are a bit tatty. Pool is small, and a bit cloudy, but nice enough for a cooling splash-about after the day's explorations. Food in the restaurant is more than adequate – generous (and very tasty) hot and cold buffet offerings at Breakfast and Lunch. The lobby bar provides hot and cold snacks and excellent coffee. Staff are friendly and willing to help where they can - Ivan deserves a particular mention here. Reception staff are a font of helpful advice and will take you through a map of the town centre and environs as a part of the welcoming/check-in procedure. Rooms are clean and well-presented, though my only gripe was that the air conditioning was not quite fierce enough. Recommended as an affordable and comfortable base for your explorations of this fascinating city. Just manage your own expectations as to opulence.

El hotel es ideal para visitar la Alhambra. Las instalaciones están correctas.

El hotel esta bien en general, creo que no llega del todo a coresponderse con un cuatro estrellas con vencional, es algo inferior. El entrorno donde esta ubicado es precioso estas relativamente cerca de todo lo importante para ver en Granada, la linea de transporte publico pasa constantemente por la puerta. Si te llevas tu vehiculo mejor. Lo peor el aparcamiento.

Close to Alhambra, a 3 star hotel in a 4 star location. Breakfast is included, but not the parking.

Perfekt hotell att bo på om man skall besöka Alhambra. Endast 200 m till entrén. Vid entrén går också bussar till centrum som nås på 10 minuter. Rent och snyggt. Bra frukostbuffé. Rekommenderas!

Si l'hôtel est idéal pour visiter l'Alhambra (il est en effet situé à quelques dizaines de mètres de l'entrée du site), c'est un peu moins bien pour visiter la ville. Cela dit, une vingtaine de minutes à pied en descendant et une bonne desserte par les bus de ville pour remonter et le tour est joué. L'hôtel en lui-même n'a rien d'extraordinaire, c'est un grand paquebot, une usine à touristes. Néanmoins, le personnel est accueillant, souriant, et les prestations d'un bon niveau. Après tout, c'est Grenade et on est devant l'Alhambra, pas étonnant donc que l'endroit soit très prisé. Si le parking de l'hôtel est plein, il y a possibilité de se garer sur le parking public à proximité tout en bénéficiant du tarif préférentiel de l'hôtel, très intéressant.

Hotellet ligger kort vei til Alhambra. Men rommet bestod av gamle møbler. Dette var nærmere 3 stjerners hotell. Men hyggelig besettning.
