Would always stay at the big blue great staff .spottless hotel good qaulity food

Reception staff very professional and helpful.Rooms spacious and well equipped.Breakfast buffet was also very good. Overall good value for money.

Couldn't fault the hotel in anyway, staff were exceptionally friendly, restaurant was great at both breakfast times & evening meal times. Rooms were spacious, clean and modern. Bunk beds with TV's for the children was brilliant!

My overall experience at Big Blue Hotel was very good. Even though first impressions wasn't great. The way the receptionist welcomed us I wasn't impressed. We took the family room of 4 with 2 bunk beds for the kids. The room felt a bit small. But was very clean. The great part of the hotel is their breakfast. We enjoyed their breakfast selection greatly. Good location, walking distance from Pleasure Beach, water world & main Blackpool strip. would definitely stay there again.

Really enjoyed our stay here, liked the rooms, the bar, the food and staff were great. We had friends staying in cheaper guest houses and small hotels and they were jealous of us and particularly our buffet breakfast, with fresh scrambled eggs, not set too hard like can often happen but just right. Only issue I know of was whilst out 8 year old son fitted in the family room bunk beds our friends teenage kids were too tall to stretch out on them. Not sure if it mentions the size of the beds on the website, but worth a check if you have older or taller kids.

Good hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Reasonable prices. Good rooms, we had a superior family room which the kids loved. Spacious. Kids beds are great with a TV for each bunk which they loved. Check length of kids beds if your kids are older ... Our nine year old's feet touched the ends and she'll be too big for them next year. Also location is ok, but the near Pleasure Beach entrance closes early in the day so you can't just pop back to the hotel. At one point we were soaked and standing next to the hotel near the Big One roller coaster, wanted to nip to our room to get dry and changed, but had to walk all the way north through the park to get out and back south to the hotel, half a mile of trudging which would have been much less if we'd stayed at the travel lodge situated just by the main entrance.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times now and will return again good food . Clean . Modern

This hotel is great: Clean comfortable rooms, staff very friendly, breakfast really good and location and free parking is ideal.

Loved this hotel and service 100% ... Very friendly staff and especially the bar supervisor that made our trip perfect with his service.. Would recomend this hotel to everyone.

We stayed here with our 2 children with our friends and their 2 children. I asked for interconnecting rooms but we didn't get them. However we were right opposite each other so it was ok. The rooms were lovely and the kids area was great. They were nice and clean. The food in the restaurant in the evening was good. The hotel told us we needed to book as it got busy, but we didn't need to as it wasn't. They should have mentioned booking for breakfast though, as this was very busy and we had to wait around 15mins for a table. It was quite chaotic at breakfast but there was a good choice of food and drinks and it was all very tasty. We bought our wristbands for the pleasure beach at reception as they offered the same discount as online but also we were able to enter by a VIP entrance, saving time by queuing at the normal entrance. I would definately stay here again if we were to return to Blackpool for the pleasure beach or the sandcastle.

Very good and would go again , my only critism would be the hotel room had no drawers and the TV was small ......but the breakfast was superb!

rooms are unusal, 2 kids beds plus large adult bedroom - great if family room is required without kids being in seperate room, but still a bit of privacy for the parents. breakfast wa plentyful and a good choice. drinks at bar a bit expensive. would be interesting to see reviews from people who use this hotel when pleasure beach and rides are on as noise could be a major problem.

Room was clean and well laid out, very good for the pleasure beach but beware of long walk back to hotel from the pleasure beach as the hotels special entrance is only open in the morning and have to use a regular exit. This doesn't sound so bad but when with young children worn out after a long day it can be a pain.

Hotel was very nice, and staff friendly. Great food for room service too. Would stay again if visiting Blackpool.

I had to be in the Blackpool area for business so I was keen to find somewhere that had a good reputation other than the overpriced Hilton. So I booked Big Blue based on other reviews. Generally all is fine with this venue but the enduring memory is that of all other reviewers who all said good for Blackpool. I guess this is because everything else just seems so poor and this is the best of a bad bunch. It's OK but that's it. Anywhere else this would only rate as an average 3 star family friendly hotel. food is good but service in the restaurant is by a team of automatons. I was asked by four different serving staff if I would like to place my order for a drink/meal even after I had aced my order.....it's as if they are on commission for each order they take. Why they can't just look after their own zone!!!!! If you are visiting the Pleasure Beach this will suit you fine especially if you have young kids. Personally as a lone traveller on business I don't need bunk beds or a wall game of snakes and ladders. Nothing else remarkable just ok ........for Blackpool!

Stayed for one night at this hotel, having booked a superior room on a B&B basis. Arrived and was checked in swiftly and efficiently, we were also advised that we'd had a complementary room upgrade to a deluxe room - so far so good! Room was absolutely immaculate, very boutique and so impressive. Had a great view over the Pleasure Beach. Huge bed, gorgeous bathroom along with complementary mineral water, tea, coffee, and personalised shortbread biscuits. Location wise again top notch, right next to the Pleasure Beach, in the whiter part of Blackpool away from the riffraff of the North and Central shore areas. Hotel reception also sells wristband for the Pleasure Beach at a reduced rate. Breakfast really was amazing. Such a huge selection of both cooked and continental, all really good quality. Pain at chocolat, croissants, and the most delicious moist muffins I've ever had. Cereals also available and a coffee machine with the usual freshly made selection of speciality coffees and hot chocolate. Check out was swift and efficient, we were also allowed to leave our car in the car park for a few hours too. It seems that nothing is too much trouble and standards are very high, which is a rarity when it comes to Blackpool hotels. Overall, I can't recommend this hotel enough. Although it's a little more expensive than the hotels nearby, it's unrivalled when it comes to cleanliness and standards. I look forward to my next visit!

I would recommend this hotel to anyone as I received a 5 star service & rooms are very clean & modern. Can't wait to go back

Great location, and staff were very helpful. layout of bedroom great if you have children. great choice at breakfast, had a minor problem with dvd player but soon fixed.

This hotel compared to most in Blackpool is modern and imposing and certainly stands out from the rest. Spotlessly clsan, friendly and comfortable I would certainly stay here again. I stayed out of season so the surrounding area was very quiet but the tram to the city centre is a short walk away. Worth every penny

Pleasantly suprised. Very high standard of room and hotel. Very good breakfast. Do not be put off by the big blue building!!!

Cleanest hotel I have been in for years , service excellent , location good

I booked this hotel because of the positive reviews on Trip Advisor and we were certainly not disappointed. We did not get to the hotel until nearly 4 in the morning due to work commitments and several diversions due to road works and were greeted by a lovely friendly male receptionist. Our Room was huge yet cosy and spotlessly clean and the bed was comfortable which is a massive bonus. We went down for breakfast and Christopher Biggins was having his breakfast!! The breakfast was absolutely delicious. It is buffet style and the quality of the food is brilliant as are all the staff. They made you feel like you had been there for weeks. Reception kindly rang a taxi for us each morning at no cost to us and the taxi was outside waiting in 1 minute! We cannot fault this hotel. It is stunning inside. Modern and clean and in perfect condition throughout. We will definately be back next year.

The hotel was great, nice rooms and good service... Only problem was that is was very easy to hear little children's footsteps running up and down their room which was above mine at 6am! I picked this as a place where I thought there would be some "life". Seriously, it was February 1/2 term so I thought there would be nice things to see and do around the hotel after work each evening. I was wrong. NOTHING around that was open on any midweek evening. Even the local Pizza Hut closes at 5:30pm! I had to take the bus/tram into the "Tower" each day and even then I was shocked to see how little was open.

A warm welcome every time stay there, rembered by staff which is great, after not been for 2 yrs, rooms excellent always clean tidy, good food if slightly bit dear, service is next to none, nothing is to much trouble, and great location yrds from bus tram stop, and pleasure beach for kids which also can be seen from some bedroom windows

Hotel lovely, breakfast great. reception staff very pleasant and helpful and drinks not overly priced. Would have been nice though when we sat down at the only available table for a drink, if it could have been wiped and crushed crisps swept up from the floor. That said, for those of us with childhood memories of the pleasure beach, you really can't beat the sight of the Big Dipper and Pleasure Beach Express on the other side of the bedroom french windows! Would definitely stay here again and fully recommend to others

A very good breakfast service

Very nice hotel, plenty of space especially the huge bed

I took my 2 grandsons, 6 & 9 yrs for 2 days holiday, most things were closed because of the time of year, January. We had a really lovely 2 nights at the Big Blue Hotel, room was excellent, boys loved their bunk beds and 2 tvs !! Breakfast was excellent!!! and the staff were so helpful and extremely friendly, would certainly go back.

First class service, one of the best breakfast I have had in any hotel, Great location next to the pleasure beach

great hotel. Only thing i did not like was the breakfast which is buffer style and food was a bit cold. Still had a great time plus receive a free upgrade which was als fantastic

Just when I thought my stay was going to be faultless, I found a suspicious looking stain on one of the "clean", bath towels which was a bit off putting. Overall I would stay again.

Great hotel, fantastic rooms, only let down was the lifts. They were tiny said eight people but four filled it and as there were a lot of families staying one pushchair and it was full. Add to that on sunday morning only one of the lifts was working.

The stay was very comfortable and staff were friendly, the attractions were great and the Tower Dungeons were excellent- would defiitely recommend to anyone visiting. It was November when we stayed so the pleasurebeach was not open but Ridleys Believe it or Not was a good trip, as was the Tower and The Dungeons, and the Zoo is also a good day out. The beach is beautiful. We stayed three nights and that was just long enough to do all we wanted out of season.

Requested a 12pm checkout at Reception this was refused unless I paid £30 extra which is very unfair ,unlike Premier Inn or Holiday Inn who always have agreed to this in the past without a rip off charge .Furnishings in room excellent
