Argonaut Hotel, a Kimpton Hotel - سان فرانسيسكو

Very nice hotel centrally placed at FW but still okay quiet. Cable car station just around the corner. Direct access from lobby to Blue Mermaid Chowder House Bar - a visit is absolutely recommended.

The complimentary wine tasting was a treat.

Arrived on a Saturday, SF was very busy as it was the start of the holiday season, the crowded pavement and the souvenir shops a plenty reminded us of Blackpool. However, the location of the hotel was good for Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39 for eateries, Pier 33 for Alcatraz trips, Pier 43 and a half for Movies Tour pick up, and cable car and other transport to Union Square, Chinatown and all other parts of San Fran. Hotel very comfortable, unfortunately never got to take advantage of the wine on offer.

Hotel location is spectacular for the Tourist visiting Fisherman' Wharf. The rooms are comfortable. Love the nautical theme.The Bellman always a "great" smile and upbeat personality. The front desk a bit young and could be more knowledgeable about the higher end restaurants. I do despise when you ask for an upgrade (willing to pay more) and the front desk clerk said "nothing available" and "you booked with hotels.com"....so meaning since you booked with hotels.com you cannot pay additional for an upgrade? He could be right and I will look into it...but he never even checked for an available upgrade...nice guy but like I said , young..... The wine hour is a great perk ! If you happen to be so lucky and get a reservation for Restaurant Gary Danko (located less then 2 blocks) that is a MUST experience!

Great room , great location and would stay again.

Great hotel, great location, great concierge service. A wonderful experience. Our doorman, Donovan, had wonderful dinner recommendations every night. He touted that he was a foodie and we believe that he was after going to his recommended restaurants! Will return and stay at the Argonaut!

Love this Hotel. If your a tourist this is the best area to stay in. I live in the city and we wanted to do something spontanious so we decited to stay at the Warf for the night. It felt like I was on vacation in my own backyard. Nice, Clean and great dservice. Safe, fun and beautiful area. You cannot stay here without a trip across the street to the Buena Vista Cafe for Irish coffee. ALso if you like to explore its a just 15 min walk over the hill to North Beech(or 5 min Cable car)

The hotel staff was very helpful. I needed a recommendation to a good seafood restaurant within walking distance and the restaurant recommended was wonderful. The hotel was clean, quiet, the bed was divine, and I would definitely go back again. The location at Fisherman's Wharf was practically next to the cable car turnaround and I took the cable car to my business meeting the next morning. How convenient, and what a ride!

We had a wonderful, delightful two-night stay at the Argonaut. We were delighted with the nautical theme throughout the building, a beautifully restored warehouse at the end of Fisherman's Wharf. Loved the exposed brick and huge beams in our room. A nice touch was the hot chocolate served each afternoon - - -very pleasant after a cold, windy day exploring. Suggestions: The items in the refrigerator seemed a little over-priced, so bring your own snacks. And we found a small empty liquor bottom under the TV table - - -a cleaning oversight, I'd guess. The staff was amazing - - friendly, helpful, and fun! I'd stay there again in a minute!

Our first time here at the Argonaut...and we loved it!! rooms are great, comfy and clean. Service was great, no complaints...next time we are in San Fran we will be here!

These guys are great. Not only is the Hotel a good value - the people are fun, friendly and accommodated everything we could ask for - from an early check-in to room upgrade and late check-out!

Hotel and staff were great, Location was fantastic. Upon arrival, they took care of parking our car and delivered our bags to the room. The door staff recommented a great place to eat dinner outside of the tourist area. Food and atmoshere were fantastic for a quiet romantic dinner. Only negative was that the walls had no sound dampening. Woke up to kids yelling and the parents being just as load. Other than tthat it was a great stay. They held our bags while we tour SF until late in the day and did not charge for extra parking

Booked a busy weekend getaway at the Argonaut (we'd stayed there before) to be close to our friends who live a short distance away from the wharf. Got the 'superior king', fairly pricey even for the tourist area, but it turned out to be a queen and in a very smallish room a long way from the elevator, and the window looked out onto a sidewalk. That said, everything was well appointed, the service was good, and the location can't be beat. Parking was also pricey, but at least the service was reasonably timely. If you're going to pay this kind of money for a superior experience, better make sure you know where you'll be.

It was my first trip to San Francisco and we stayed a week at the Argonaut Hotel. I thorougly enjoyed my stay there. It has to be one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in! The staff was friendly and very helpful when I had questions about resturants, transportation and sights to visit. Also they had a wine reception every day at 5pm which I attended most evenings. The wine was good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Also it was not located at the noisy end of Fisherman's Wharf which is definitely a plus!

This hotel had it all - service, location and great food. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and well appointed. You can't get a better location - right on the Wharf, a block away from the cable car turnaround. Everything is within easy reach. I can't wait to return.

overall this place was okay to stay the only thing that I and my wife did not like was the bed it was too soft I felt like my back broke and struggle to get up in the morning. my wife couldn't sleep so she just got up and didn't sleep anymore.

Stayed here for four days during President's Week with two pre-teens and found it to be the perfect family hotel. We stayed in a double room with bay views and thought it an excellent value. For a basic room, there was tons of room for everyone to spread out and the decor was very cute and quirky, not hotel cookie-cutter. The hotel itself was also lovely and funky, very clean, well maintained and the staff very friendly.. Was worried about proximity to Fisherm'as Wharf and tourist central, but the location was fabulous. It is close enough (about 3 blocks) to easily walk to most of the tourist attractions (cable car depot, Fisherman's Wharf, Aquarium, Alcatraz Ferry, vintage electric cars, sea lions and shops at Pier 39, virtually every city tour bus start ). But is is also about one block past the masses of tourists so the block surrounding the hotel was very peaceful. A park is across the street on one corner and the bay with lovely views of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate bridge is right across the street (ask for bay view room on upper floor) There is also a cool Maritime Museum in the hotel lobby. Tons of restaurants within two blocks of the hotel. Since the cable car turnaround is right across the street, we bought passes and took the cable car to most places, inlcuding Union Square, Chinatown and Lombardi Street.

This place is conveniently located within short walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf as well as quick access to the trolly. The hotel is very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. It has a great restaurant, bar, and even a free museum. Ghirardelli is also a couple blocks away and quick access to the beach park with views of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Great location and nice hotel! Parking is expensive, but the reason for that is the great location.

We have stayed here twice. 'Love this spot down on the wharf. We love the morning jog out the door, thru the Precidio and out along the bay toward the Golden Gate. Beautiful! Great service, staff treated us really well...very helpful and friendly. The free hot choco in the afternoon is great on a cool day. Rooms are nice...fun nautical theme without being kitchy. We will be back.

very nice, friendly and convenient

The room is long and narrow. It is located on the very westerly end of the Fisherman Wharf area about a block east of the Ghirardelli Square. Everything is walking distant. Pier 39 is approx 3/4 mile away, but there is a lot to see in between the hotel and there. We missed the wine reception but the hotel staff gave up free wine vouchers for the main restaurant. Excellent service. While waiting in line a couple came in early. The staff told them that the room would be ready right after they finish their breakfast and breakfast was on the house. Now that is service!

What a warm and friendly place. The wine reception was a great place to plan our evening. Our three Springer Spaniels were so happy and so welcomed by the staff, who sent up 3 doggy bowls and provided treats! Of course we think our dogs are beautiful and well-behaved, it is wonderful for a hotel to notice and embrace these important family members! And a last minute booking got us a fabulous rate!

Great Hotel, *************** will be back ************************* Super Location.

I stay regularly in SF at another Kimpton hotel, but for this trip it was completely booked, so I tried the Argonaut. Loved everything about it - the hotchocolate bar, the complimentary wine hour, the wonderful and refreshingly cheerful staff, and an comfortable, uniquely decorated, high quality room with all the amenities I need, and then some.

We stayed for 3 nights whilst visiting San Francisco for the first time, and we were very happy with everything about the hotel except perhaps the restaurant "The Blue Mermaid". It seemed to be a little understaffed, and they left double doors open making it really cold inside. The room, lobby, level of service and everything else was great though.

Couldn't book a decent hotel near the convention center and found the Argonaut online. Very glad I ended up there. Very pleasant and accomodating staff, great room, clean and comfortable, with a view of Alcatraz, convenient location and reasonable price. I will definitely stay there again the next time I travel to San Francisco.

January - loved the location!! First time in SF. I stayed 4 days, I would have loved to stay 1 month in the Agronaut. Just loved to cross the street and walked around the Fishermans Wharf. We rented bicycles to cross the Golden Gate right next to the Hotel. Took the City tours, cable cars and trolleys one block away from the Hotel. The view from my room.. Alcatraz. Just loved it. Thanks for a great trip!!

Returned to San Francisco after 27years. Back then was on honeymoon, this time around was with the family after all those years. The Argonaut was first class in all respects. Location, staff, cleanliness and amenities. The whole family loved it and it contributed to a wonderful stay. Next time we won't leave it 27 years and we'll stay at Argonaut for sure. Highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is clean and the location is good. However, the hotel has service and personnel problems. Upon my arrival at the hotel, I ordered soup from room service, but they forgot to include the spoon with the soup. I asked for a wake up call at 6:00 A.M (first day), and 8:30 A.M (second day), and the hotel front desk forgot to wake me up both days. Thanks to my iPhone alarm, I woke up on time otherwise I would have missed my meetings. I ordered an airport shuttle and put the fare on my Visa card. However, the hotel concierge neglected to tell me that the receipt she gave me was to be given to the shuttle driver. Upon arrival at the airport, assuming that I had paid the fare, I gave the driver a tip and left for my gate. The driver, thinking that I had not paid the fare, called airport security (the TSA) who confronted me at the gate. I was able to clear up the mixup without being arrested, but it was an upsetting experience .

Very fun and a bit funky hotel. Very close to Fisherman's Wharf and Fort Mason, easy walk to other great parts of the city. Great service, clean and comfortable rooms, great snacks! Definitely would stay again.
