A most pleaant stay - better than expected room - quiet, good size & good amenities and facing street. Quite convenient - from main train station entrance, walk two blooks straight toward Cathedral, at corner, turn left, go down one blook and hotel on right - look for banners with hotel name hanging over entrance. Breakfast offerings very good and good start to day. Old town Bussels exceeded expectations. Hotel two minutes from that part of city.

Reception personnel were not service orientated at all. Breakfast is excellent and included.The hotel is very well situated and can be recommended.

The downside was a very strong cleaning material so the lobby and other common areas smelled like a odd perfume, it was not in the room though. Good breakfast and pleasant staff.

I booked into Scandic because my usual hotel was fuuly booked up, and was greatly impressed. Will deifinitely stay here in future and recommend it to others

Nicely located in Central Brussels, easy walking distance to the Grand Place and Royal Place etc. Hotel has seen better days. Free Wifi in the room was good. I really missed not having tea/coffee facilities supplied in the room - rooms were small, noisy from all directions (sounds of people and water from other rooms). The Gym was not accessible for some reason. Staff were welcoming and very helpful and the breakfast supplied was absolutely delicious.

Amazing location a five minute walk from the Grand Place. Excellent breakfast. Really nice gym. No complaints.

Well worth the price, very nice and helpful staff. Good breakfast. If you're a light sleeper, ask for a room not facing the street. The traffic is heavy even during the night, and there's one Scandinavian standard missing in this place - double glazing! (bring earplugs just in case too) The breakfast waiter was a bit too enthusiastic, collecting empty plates and cups before people were finished eating, and the cleaning woman was a bit rude. Otherwise a good choice for a business traveler and a vacationer alike.

This hotel is in a very nice location, only five minutes walk to the Grand Palace, which is a famous tourist spot of Brussels. The room was a bit small but since the hotel is in the heart of Brussels the small room-size was understandable. The only dissapointing thing was that a hair-dryer in a bathroom was half-broken.

Sadly my stay at this hotel was overshadowed by an incident of theft. I had my camera stolen from the bedroom. Very disappointed with management's lack of reponse to this. Despite been told, I would be contacted immediately on management speaking with the cleaning contractors, I have not received any contact. Overall very disappointed and expected much more from a hotel which is claiming to be of a high standard.

I normally stay in the Novotel Centre Tour Noire 10 minutes walk further away, but my colleagues were staying at the Scandic and the price was slightly lower, so I decided to give it a try. Minor complaints: - Staff slightly more surly and disinterested compared to the Novotel - Room very slightly smaller compared to Novotel. e.g. Novotel had room for a couch. - Buffet breakfast not as good as Novotel, e.g. eggs and bacon left to go luke warm. However it is free, whereas Novotel's isn't. Good points: - Still felt it was good value for money - Included wifi, unlike Novotel. - Included breakfast buffet, with plenty of variety in case you happen to not enjoy luke warm eggs and bacon

We stayed at Scandic Hottel during Christmas time and our experience was really nice. The hotel offers a lot of advantages and I picked it up among a lot of other choices because it combines central porision, nice, well-equiped rooms, free WiFi and good breakfast. It proved to satisfy all promising standards at a very good level, really important for us, as I chose it for our honeymoon trip. I had contacted the hotel 2-3 months before our arrival to ask for a quiet room with view outside (there are also rooms looking inside the hotel, which are a little dark) and the staff was kind enough to reply quickly to my email and furthermore to fulfill our desire, due to the fact it was our honeymoon. The position of the hotel is great, 5 minutes walking time from grand place and Central station. Staff is polite and helpful, breakfast is great with a lot of choises. The rooms were cleaned every day but not perfectly. Specifically, the bathroom was well cleaned, towels changed but the room floor not mopped. Hot water in the bathroom during the whole day, nice desk and baggage surfaces, useful safe-box (with plug inside!) and nice big TV SET (HOWEVER, vga-in and scart-in were not functioning! Most likely, for the customers to use video-on-demand instead of watching movies from their laptops!). Generally, there were no serious issues, except the A/C, which was not fully functional. The first two days, the room was not well-heat. This was fixed the third day, but still, the customer does not have the control of the A/C temperature, only switching it ON/OFF! Sauna is a great add-in for this cost-level. Overall our staying was pleasant and we'd choose this hotel again for our accommodation in Brussels.

5 minute walk to railroad station and the Grand Place. Nice breakfast. Basic rooms. Not luxurious but a great place for a night or two in central Brussels.

A very good location, 2 mins walking distance to Metro/Train Gare Central. Good variety of breakfast items and free wifi connection. The rooms are a bit small and the decoration needs a bit of renovation. But overall, its location, price and services make the hotel very attractive for central Brussels.

Positives: great location, breakfast was tasty and had a good choice, staff were all very helpful and welcoming. Negatives: our room was small, two twin beds pushed together and not the queen we booked, the room was very hot (in Winter!), there was no kettle/tea/coffee, decor was dated. I would not stay here again due to the room comfort being poor, if you just want a place to crash and don't expect to spend much time in it it will be fine, it wasn't awful but I was expecting more for the price and star rating.

You can't beat this hotel for location--two short blocks to Central Station, two blocks to Grand Place-One block from great resteraunts. It's not a 5 star resort, could use a little mold removal in the bathroom caulking--but the room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast buffet has to be one of the best in town. Great value for the dollar!

Hotel is in excellent location in Central Brussels close to the main Grand Place and all other main attractions. Everything is within walking distance from hotel. Brussels Central station is also only 5mins walk which was very handy when getting train from Airport to Brussels Central and also for day trips to places like Bruges and Ghent. Hotel also has breakfast buffet and free wireless which is very handy. They also have BBC1 on their channel list which is different then always having BBC News channel which you find in most hotels. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel also has gym and Finish sauna on 5th floor. Any criticisms. The windows are tinted meaning that even if it is sunny days it feels cloudy outside and more darker in the room and hairdryer was not very powerful. However overall i was impressed with this hotel and would recommend to anyone else looking to stay in Brussels.

Close to the central station and the grand place. The breakfast is complet and realy good. Good value.

It is nothing special, just a basic hotel with scandinavian breakfast. Great for business travellers but not for couples.

Definitely not a 4 star - probably not even 3. Basic rooms - beds have that odd no mattress set up and hotels.com bookings are all twin rooms unless you pay an extra fee on checking in for a double bed. No views, dark rooms (many only have internal windows). No safe in the room - very odd for a so called 4 star. But on the positive side, the rate was cheap and its central. If you want something charming or particularly comfortable - go elsewhere.

We instantly up graded to a superior room as the standard room was the size of a matchbox. Good location in downtown Breakfast was ok

Convenient location from Brussels Central train station and touristy spots for sightseeing. We did not use Central metro station. Easy connections from Central to Midi/Zuid for visiting Brugge. One can come in and out of the hotel all day as you please for sightseeing because of the proximity. Excellent restaurants with two to three blocks from the hotel. The free breakfast was excellent/unbeatable with numerous choices. Hotel staff was very cooperative and helpful. Hotel computer at the basement was very helpful for free internet. Get the login id and password from the front desk. The combination changes daily. Excellent value, location, convenience and no need to use metro or taxi for touristy sightseeing activity in the vicinity. After checkout, left luggage and collected it later in the day.

The hallways smell from smoke, dust and other odors. So not appealing until you get to the room, which was clean and modern. The a/c was very poor.

good location, great friendly staff, comfortable air conditioned rooms, gym and sauna and wifi free of charge and great breakfast choices...

All around excellent especially the helpful and professional staff.

We enjoyed our 1.5 day stay very much. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The location is right around the corner from a great cafe, chocolate shops and the Grand Plazza. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast included in our room price as well. We will definitely return.

My wife and I visited five cities in Europe this summer and the Scandic Place was one of our favorite stays. The hotel is clean and comfortable. the room is not large, but sufficient. The breakfast (which was included) was excellent! The location was a couple of minutes away from the center of the old town and only five minutes from the main train station. Very pleased with our stay.

The hotel room, like the hotel, was extremely clean and the location is There was free, good and strong coffee in the lobby 24/7. My only complaints are our room was right off the elevator shaft, so it was noisy a bit at night. Also, the room was stuffy and hot and the window (opening onto the elvevator shaft) as rigged so you could only open it a few inches. We later discovered the room DID have airconditioning, but it was very different set up from what you are used to in the U.S. so we didn't recognize that. It would have helped to have it labeled in French and English. I didn't want to bother with asking the person at reception because her English was so bad. Now we will know for the future.

Despite my room was tiny and with the window looking directly at the glass lift, everything was ok and comfortable, except there was no hot water, which I did find very disappointing (I tried to shower at night and in the morning, there was no improvement).

This hotel was in a great location, just a couple of blocks from the central station and Grand Place. I spent 3 days in Brussels on vacation, and I walked all over the Lower and Upper Town areas, never needing public transportation. The hotel itself was nice, clean, and roomy, with a nice and friendly staff. I would definitely stay here again, and would recommend it to anyone.

Great location, only 5 minutes walk from Brussels Central railway station and a few more to the Grand Place via the St Hubbert Galleries, helpful staff, very good buffet breakfast included, free wifi, very comfortable bed and good hot bath. Room perhaps just a little dark/ dated and for some maybe a bit small and stuffy without window open or cooling on in warmer months. No iron in room.

I stayed at Scandic for a total of 3 nights while I was in Brussels, another 2 nights from 2-4 April. The location is good! I found that if you walk via the short cut from Brussels Central station to Scandic Grand Place…NOT past Le Meridian (cobbled streets that way).. It’s a short walk away… It’s a smooth walk without having to lug your heavy luggage up and down slopes. I thought it was value for money for the location! I am a solo female with huge luggages, but I found the route to Brussels Central station easy! It is also convenient to Métro de Bruxelles… Gare Centrale!! The breakfast served was only so-so and the same for all days. Abit boring and not that big a spread, but still delicious and ample for a morning start! Just don’t go expecting much. The room I was given on the 1st night, was on the topmost flr – 5th floor with a very very small and high window that I could not look out of. Abit clastrophobic… but if you don’t mind and only want to rest your head for a night, sure! For the 2nd stay, I requested for a room with a bigger window... and the Scandic Front desk, promptly arranged that for me. I got one on the 2nd floor facing the main street. It’s abit noisy and you can still hear some of the commotion from the outside although the windows are double layered! Buses passing by and noises from people who are out for the night… If you are a heavy sleeper like me, no problem at all! If you are a light sleeper, request for the rooms facing the inside of the hotel… But overall, I loved the hotel for the location and price!

Nice, clean, good services, free internet, best location

Only a 5 minute walk from the Central Train Station and only steps from dozens of restaurents and sights in the historic part of the city. Though our stay was a short one, we were able to enjoy many of the sights the city has to offer. The hotel exceeded our expectations and everyone went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable for our two daughters, ages 8 and 10. We would definitely stay here again and have already recommended the hotel to our friends.
