nice stay since we don't need much. the room was really small for that amount of money. not many places open to eat. nice relaxing time but woken up with construction in parking lot. it was early and it was loud.

Great location!! We could walk to shops, restaurants & the beach!! Very clean room with a huge comfy bed & towels were soft ( not stiff)!! I would definately come back!!

It was a tiny room. However it worked out nicely. Having the Congress Hall amenities was the highlight of the stay. Walking across the street and enjoying the Boiler Room and Brown Room’s music and atmosphere were fabulous. The breakfast vouchers were adequate for 1, not 2. That was Ok though. I was glad I was in the Star Inn at checkout time. I watched people waiting for their valet service to get their cars while I could just walk over to the Star Inn and drive away. It was very convenient when I drove to see the sights and out to dinner. A great stay!

Adequate hotel in all respets, but no view, very simple decor in a town noted for fancy rooms.

We were happily surprised by the quality of our stay at the Star. We had booked through an online site, and had only modest expectations. But the room, in an older renovated facility, was larger than expected, the bed fabulously comfortable, and the tiled bathroom handsome and attractive. A breakfast voucher was provided for the Blue Pig restaurant across the street. Parking was right next to the Star. Overall, very happy with our one night stay at the hotel. We will plan on staying there at our next visit to Cape May.

The Star Inn efficiency room we had was like our own cottage by the sea. Perfect location, near to restaurants, shopping and 1/2 block from the ocean. The proximity of their sister property, Congress Hall, afforded big hotel amenties right across the street. Will plan to visit again.

We were so excited to be in Cape May, NJ. Considering the price of the room,we had expected a little more than what we got. TINY room. Hardly any walking space or anywhere to put our things. The sink in the bathroom was so small, you couldnt wash your hands without water going everywhere. You couldnt even get your face over it to brush your teeth, as there was a glass shelf directly above it. The bed was very nice, tho. It was a queen with very comfy bedding. This room was a total disappointment. It should have been used for a closet and nothing more.

People were nice. Didn't like being on the top floor - too many stairs. Very small room. Room so small that when walking around one side of the bed, I turned around and my head banged into the very low beam cut into the wall. That hurt! Clean room. View of roof. But right near the center of shopping and very close to beach. Would like it better on one of the lower floors. The sink was very tiny, too - but at least we had a private bathroom.

This place is great. We stayed in one of the efficiencies and it had a nice comfortable feel about it. Cute little kitchen area with half stove, microwave, refrigerator, utensils and dishes. Also liked the modern stainless countertops in the kitchen and bathroom. The location of this place is fantastic. You are in the center of everything. half block to the beach, and about a block to the mall. Also, using the facilities at Congress Hall is a real bonus. I could go on and on but I'm at work right now!

Most lovely service and clean surroundings. Convenient and accessible to Congress Hall and mall. The room is small, and view a little scant, but it served our purposes beautifully.

The staff was very friendly. The hotel was extremely clean and well cared for. The location was PERFECT! It's within walking distance to the beach, the quaint Cape May shoppes, and some excellent places to eat! We loved it and will definitely be going back again!!

I stayed at the Star Inn in late March, before tourist season got a start. As a result, staff and front desk support were provided by its sister hotel, the Congress Hotel, across the street and down a block. The room was well appointed and clean, bed comfortable, and quiet as my room backed onto a residential neighborhood. The rooms, despite being street view rooms, were also quiet, as the parking lot provided a good buffer from slow-moving traffic on the street. All in all, this was a nice experience and a good price.

Perfect location for our recent stay to visit during Christmas celebration. Able to use Congress Hall facilities. Close to shopping and beach.

a very comfortable hotel from a bygone era....older converted structured but very cozy...part of the Congress Hall Hotel across the street and all amenities accessible with stay...nice restaurant and lounge across the street at the Congress Hall....close to waterfront...very nice hotel....no elevator in the older Star Inn, so have to schlepp luggage up narrow stairs if on 2nd or 3rd floor...

Well, I love , love Cape May! So really I could stay anywhere and love it , just because I am in Cape May! The Star Inn was very clean and very quiet! Our room was quite small for the cost but the bed was super comfortable! I would stay there again but just wish the price was a little cheaper!

Stayed here for a wedding and couldn't of been happier. Very charming and comfortable room. Great for romantic get away also!

Very Small room, but it did have everything you needed. They did have a parking lot which is a plus in Cape May. The bed was comfortable by hotel standards. They had a decent channel selection. Never saw any staff at the Star. All interactions were done at Congress Hall Across the street. This is likely due to being on business and being gone before anyone arrived and being back after 6:00 when everyone was gone. Congress Hall and the Virginia Hotel are both nicer, but this was fine given that it was closer to the season and those hotels were both $50-60 more a night. At least with my business trips, it is about reasonable affordability.

The room was without a doubt the SMALLEST room my wife and I have ever encountered. I could not even stand up straight (I'm 5'10"). We could not occupy the bathroom together, the sink was 9 inches across and splashed water all over when trying to brush or wash. This "Inn" was built when people were much smaller. There are many hotels, motels, and accommodations within a quarter of a mile for HALF the price we paid for this "child's" room. I banged my head walking up and down the stairs (there are no elevators) and in the room. The "heater" was a wall mounted device that was noisy and ineffective. There was a TV with all the wires hanging down the wall, exposed and in the way. There is no night time attendant and guest must us a "code" to enter the building ... a little security concern in this day-and-age. The cafe was closed, no bar, no ice, no snack machine. I don't know who or why anyone would ever stay here, unless they were surprised like we were. If they were honest in their room descriptions, the place would be closed in a week! Never, never, ever again!!!

My mom and I arrived late in the evening in Cape May and found after checking in that our room lights were on which made finding our efficiency easy on a cold dark night. The rooms were clean and in perfect order. In fact the next day I called and booked the same efficiency for a stay in June ! My only complaint was the wifi was super slow.

Was a wonerful winter get away; very warm and inviting accomidations.Food was excellent and hotel services easily accessed.

Cute little place. Cape May is a quiet town in October so everything was closed down well before 8:00p. We were redirected to another hotel for check-in. Nice room - small, clean - good shower, soft bed. Close to the beach. We were only there to get our daughter from USCG basic training so we didn't stay long but I'd recommend it.

I have been going to Cape May for years. The Star Inn and Congress Hall group are a first class operation. From the reception desk to the chair staff at the beach the personel are friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend staying at all their hotels. The beds are the best and they try hard to keep the rooms and grounds well cared for. Check them out!!!

You can't beat the location of this facility. It's a very short walk to the mall & many restaurants. The beach is half a block away. A nice extra is the use of all of Congress Hall amenities & services. The unit was much more spacious than expected & certainly larger in reality than what you can tell from the pictures. The bed & pillows were very comfortable. This was an end unit so it had many windows, all the downstairs units had a 2-person swing on the front porch; and private back terraces with comfortable outdoor furniture. It was extremely clean upon arrival, especially considering the proximity to the beach--there was not one trace of sand inside.

The Star Inn in Cape May, NJ was perfect!!! The location, the room, the service, the price, the coffee & danishes, EVERYTHING!! We couldn't have asked for more for our first vacation! We will never forget The Star Inn & will return in the future, for sure!! :)

The Star Inn is in the perfect location for a Cape May getaway. One block from the beach and right next to a large amount of shops and resturaunts. I highly recommend it.

Cape May is an absolute recommendable place to stay and the Star Inn, which is part of the Congress Hall, is the best place to stay there. Perfect service, including complimentary chairs at the beach, friendly and very helpful staff. We loved every minute of our stay!

The Star is a cute little motel with retro 50s kitchen, turquoise walls, and little chandelier in the sitting room. It's across the street from the Congress Hotel, which owns and runs it, and about a block down the street from the beach. My only complaint about the hotel is that the management for some reason has failed to update the room service menu in the rooms. This was frustrating because I came back from the beach all sunburned and wanted to stay inside and order room service, but when I called they didn't still offer anything on the menu in the room. The hotel management knew the menus were out of service, but apparently couldn't be bothered to update them. I don't understand why an otherwise great hotel would overlook something like that. But it was my only complaint and I do generally recommend the place.

This was our second stay at the Star Inn. We traveled to Cape May to look for places to hold our upcoming wedding and reception. The Star is great because it is right near Beach Avenue and the shore. It is also walking distance to Washington Street, where there are places to shop and restaurants. The room was neat and clean (we stayed in one of the efficiency suites, so we had a kitchen, bar, and living room in addition to the bath and bedroom). Everything was clean and well kept. The price was also very affordable, although caution is warranted. Prices are lowest in the winter and highest during the peak months in the summer. I would recommend the Star Inn without reservation.

Das Hotel liegt unweit der Promenade von Cape May. Teilweise verfügen die Zimmer sogar über Meerblick. Etwas umständlich aber durchaus zu ertragen ist das in der nebenanliegenden "Congress Hall" das Frühstück serviert wird. Dafür ist dies der gehobenen Küche entsprechend auch vorzüglich. Die Einkaufs- und Flaniermeile ist in der entgegengesetzten Richtung der Promenade in unmittelbarer Entfernung. Ein kleiner Supermarkt ist ebenfalls fußläufig innerhalb einiger Minuten zu erreichen. Cape May ist offensichtlich von nicht Amerikanern noch kaum erschlossen. Außerhalb der Saison ist es ein Geheimtipp für all die, die Ruhe suchen und ausgiebige Spaziergänge mit kleinen Sehenswürdigkeiten (Leuchtturm, Naturwanderweg, etc.) auf der Halbinsel suchen. Hotel TOP, Umgebung TOP - im Sommer denke ich ziemlich überlaufen aber dafür mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit nur kaum "Touris"!
