I love Goa, the beach and all the sea food, but frankly the Zuri was a complete disapointment except for the Fins fish restraunt and Emedio the chef, where the food was great and his service excellent, all be it at a high price The hotel is no way, more than a 3 star rating, its staff are not trained or managed and the Italian General Manager manager is not in control. It took 5 days to get my room cleaned and serviced to my needs, which included simple requests for towels and toilet roles. The whole hotel needs renovation, with feature pools not working, generally very poorly managed property. The beach toilets were locked most days and when open were not clean, they even had frogs in them! The staff in the restraunts tried hard, but seemed more intent on getting good comment cards than solving the problems. Unfortunately I had previously stayed in the Taj Exotica, so my expectations may have been unrealistic. This hotel is mainly used by Russian package firms and I believe their lack of English has allowed their complaints to be ignored, thus a deteriating situation. On the plus side the beach is great and water fantastic. and you can go to Martin's corner for great food at a fraction of the hotel fee's

Grounds and beach are beautiful.There are limited restaurants within walking distance off the hotel grounds but the ones that are offer good value. Breakfast buffet is extensive and good quality with eggs cooked fresh.

Great hotel with 5-8 minutes walk to a splendid very wide beach. The grounds of the hotel are large so be prepared for that brisk walk. For a closer dip the hotel pool is terrific. Can't complain about the service. Check-in was particularly efficient and professional. The only thing that did bother us was that the staff kept on asking if we enjoyed the stay and how was the food. This is a positive gesture but not every 5 minutes. The staff also have a tendency to over-stay a little when talking to you at the table, but hey this is far better than having some sulky waiter/waitress attending you. Very friendly and pleasant staff. they have been trained well and it shows. Just need to fine tune and limit the number of times a guest is asked the same question. The hotel feels a bit isolated and its not walking distance to towns. Great if you do most of your wine and dining at hotel but if you crave some variety then more challenging. This is fairly normal phenomena for a resort hotel. The hotel were less good at organizing tours. They referred such matters to the concierge who then arranged a local taxi.

Extremely disappointed with our stay at the ZURI whitesands resort I am a frequent visitor to Goa and I have always been happy with my stay at the 3-4* hotels I have stayed at so far. No complaints with staff, service, rooms or food. Regrettably we chose to stay at a 5* and picked ZURI whitesands. Very poor customer service, short staffed and low food standard. It appears that staff is at the mercy of upper management who do not seem to care about the service levels. Our advise wait for the hotel to improve before you spend your hard earned money at this “supposedly” 5* hotel.

The Zuri White Sands Goa is everything you would expect from a 5-star resort. It is about a 40-minute drive south of the airport, on Varca beach. The resort has a private beach for guests, as well as a very nice swimming pool. The employees were helpful in discussing the local sites and restraurants, and can arrange a driver for the day if you want to travel outside the area. Everything about the room was great, with the slight exception that the central air was not quite strong enough to keep the room cool (would only go down to mid-70's at the coolest). The resort also has a casino onsite, which we did not visit.

The Zuri lived up to all expectations. The staff pride themselves on their attentive service and the quality of the hotel amenities. As expected in a 5 star hotel you pay over the odds to eat and drink there but it's nice to pamper yourself on occasions. The best food can be found in several restaurants a short stroll from the hotel or in one of the beach shacks. A visit into Margoa is an experience not to be missed, either by bus or rickshaw and also Colva for a different experience. If you want luxury, relaxation and culture then this is the holiday for you.

ambience, location, comfort, casino all were unforgettable

We had a very pleasant New Year's at Zuri White Sands. Great service (probably the best we got in five months in India) and great facilities

We stayed between 27th and 30th 2011. This is considered the peak period in Goa due to it being Carnival season. The reception area is spacious with many places to make yourself comfortable. We reached early by road (7am) and we were the only ones being attended to. We had to wait for our rooms which would only be available by 3:00pm. We could use the facilities while we waited. We freshend up at the spa and headed straight for the beach. The resort is on the beach. The rooms are on two levels, and you will not get a beach view from most rooms on the lower level. However, you will get a pool view from the lower levels. We visited with our kids ages 11 and 3. Our room was on the lower level with our balcony opening directly to the pool, less than 10 steps away. Our rooms were very clean. I don’t know how they manage to do that with so much sand being trekked into the rooms. When room service cleaned out the rooms somehow all the sand disappeared. The only negative was our A/C that could not be turned off. It kept our room at a constant 22 C - which some people may not like - but was perfect for us. The rooms are quite sound proof – but you will hear people in the corridors. The pool is very well maintained and is quite large. Its in a horseshoe shape and one end of the horse shoe is not visible from the other end - that should give you an idea of how large the pool is. The kids pool on the other hand can accommodate about 10 toddlers. Surprisingly, the kids pool was not chlorinated. At night there were about 10 frogs in that pool. No idea where they disappear in the day time. Service was excellent! The staff is polite and courteous. Everyone greeted you with a smile. They even have a doctor on site. We needed him as our younger daughter had a slight fever the first morning when she awoke. Dr. Pradip was available between 9am-5pm. He too was courteous and polite. Prescribed some medicines which we could get delivered by the hotel staff or I could purchase. I opted

The hotel is a bit sad needs a face lift and needs to be thouroghly cleaned. Staff were very good and also very obliging !!

Amazing , Wow, fantastic place for a vacation with or without kids. with 6 days in goa we booked Zuri over the net for 24 and 25 Dec, not really knowing what to expect. having spent 4 days on Baga beach at a a 5 star resort, we came to Zuri for Christmas which was also our anniversary, and ended up only wishing we had booked all 6 days at Zuri. It will go down in memory as one of the most amazing anniversaries and holidays we've ever had. The hotel staff made it special for us even arranging flowers and a complimentary cake. The pool is unbelievable, the food is awesome, the beach pristine, and the lawns beautiful. A special thanks to the staff. It is THE place for a holiday

nice place on one of the cleanest beaches in goa. very nice swimming pool and a getaway from the family. try to get the ground floor rooms for direct access to the pool. the only issue was that the housekeeping quality if pretty poor . rest all is perfect and the food ia awesome. The fins at the sea shore is a amazing shack for sea foodies. we travelled with family including a baby. make sure you hire a car in goa though. its a must if you want to visit other places in goa as the resorst is away from major tourisst destinations by atleast 1 hr drive anywhere. But its pretty close to the markets at Varca village and Madgoan city center ( 30 mins drive) .

Our stay was very comfortable, the grounds of the hotel are absolutely beautiful and the sunset from the beach is perfect,especially in December. The hotel itself needs a bit of rennovation inside but there is a large pool (apparently the largest meandering pool in India!) and a small pool for more of a relaxing experience. We were not able to leave the hotel resort hwever as there isn't much to do in the surroundings. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family!

Really good property... The pool is shaped as a lagoon an accessibe from almost all rooms on the ground floor giving a virtual experience of a private pool. One of the cleanest beaches I have come across Hotel also has a huge lawn as well as play area. Great place to go with family for a relaxed trip On the downside... while the staff is extremely courteous, the service is a little slow

We loved the meandering swimming pool which gave a very "personal pool feel" to us from our room. The children's playroom and the caretaker were nice but unfortunately in the basement. It would have been preferable if the playroom was in a glass walled room near a garden area (children love openness). Breakfast buffet had scrumptious food. Only other downside is that the rooms on the ground floor facing the pool have a bit of dampness due to the humidity. Overall, we had a comfortable and happy stay.

After a roundtrip in India it was very nice to come to Zuri White Sand hotel. It is a exelent hotell with a very high standard. We can recommend this hotel.

This hotel had plenty of ameneties to cater for almost everyones needs. Practically on the beach! Choice of restaurants, gym, pool, casino, shops etc. I would recommend to them that they maybe have a map of the hotel in the rooms as the property is vast and it would help to find what you want. The rooms were very comfortable and staff friendly and helpful. Food is great quality but a litle expensive but then you expect that in a 5* resort. 1 problem, which isn't the hotels fault is the taxi issue outside where you know you're being overcharged but can't do anything about it. If you're looking for back to basics India you won't find it here because this is a little bit of luxury. My only concern would be the knock on effect on the surrounding areas of the volumes of water required to keep this place as good as it is.

I stayed in Zuri White Sands for 4 nights in Nov 2011. I had booked a Zuri Deluxe Room and was with a Family of 4 including 2 kids. The hotel facilities were excellent and all of us had a great time. The staff was very courteous and accommodated all our requests always with a smile! The location of the resort is not very convenient if you plan to visit north Goa. However we had no such plans and it did not bother us so much. The resort has a private beach attached to it and it is very clean and there is a nice resort restaurant (FINS) just by the beach. The room was very spacious and was cleaned by the housekeeping staff daily very meticulously. Overall my family had a great time and we certainly plan to visit this place again in the future.

The staff couldn't do enough for you and were efficient and polite, however didn't get the extra bed ready in our room on time for our early morning arrival despite emails reminding them. The hotel is slightly dated and could do with a lick of paint but our enjoyment was not hindered by this. I chose the hotel for the pool and the fact that it was on the beach and I wasnt dissapointed. The pool is amazing! The grounds are lush and green which lead you down to the beach which is a long white stretch of sand, beautiful. We ate dinner only once at the buffet and the food was good. We did enjoy the local 'restaurants' just beyond the hotel grounds both on the beach and 5 mins walk into Varca village who's cuisine was more rustic but absolutley delicious and much cheaper. I will definitely be returning to Goa and will seriously consider staying again Zuri White Sands again.

The hotel is a fantastic property with a lovely location/ beach. The room given to us was quite comfortable though the location was nothing to write home about.. Next to a noisy power generator set-up. It has the best swimming pool in Goa, great lawns and serves good food. One thing that we would have expected to better was overall cleanliness/ upkeep. Unfortunately there was a lot of condensation on the roof of corridors leading to wet floors/ walls and though the staff were on regular cleaning jobs through the day, it was not very pleasing. Inside the rooms were quite clean/ comfy though the bathrooms were quite small and left a lot to be desired on cleanliness/ amenities. We found the staff to be quite helpful and prompt. Beach is beautiful as well though the hotel beach shack and water sports would only open in October. Only eyesore on the beach were a huge number of stray dogs without which this would possibly be the best beach location in Goa. Overall a great property for good vacation but it could do with some improvements- it is also best visited post the monsoon season...

Let me state the positives first - this is a great property, and the rooms are excellent (I stayed in their premium room). During season (I went in Sept, this property would be a great place to go) Now the negatives. First there was the water leaking into my room from the outside. Granted they had tried to prevent this, but it clearly wasn't doing the job. When I complained, they got somebody to temporarily fix the problem, but no apologies or offer to change my room. On the third day, I didn't bother to complain. Next the restaurants. They are ridiculously expensive, which would have been OK had the food been excellent. Sake, their pan-asian restaurant that didn't have sake in stock and served the worst wasabi and frozen tuna on the nigiri sushi I ordered (off-menu) was the first disappointment. They did give a desert for free to compensate, but considering what I paid for the meal as whole, it was hardly enough. The a la carte items at their cafe were no better. They were ordinary at best. These and many other little things added to my overall rating of the resort, which with a little bit of attention and hiring better chefs who know what they are doing could easily become a full 5 points. Overall it gave the impression that they think the property is what you pay for, and everything else is incidental. They also have a very low opinion of their guests, as people who don't know good food and not used to great service that is expected in a 5 star property. I would give this property another try, perhaps during season next time and then revise my opinion and rating.

A frequenter to Goa and having stayed at lots of great 5 star properties, Zuri White Sand stands out primarily on the beautiful property, location, upkeep of resort & most importantly service which is great. From the swimming pool at your doorstep to the bar in the pool, this place ensures lazy luxury at your disposal all the time. Leaving Taj Village apart, Zuri's spread of buffet is amazing.

The hotel is beautiful and the Front Office staff lead by Mr Tarun Sharma go out of their way to ensure that all guest have a great stay at their hotel . Bhavana at the Front Desk made sure that my wife has a beautiful Birthday at the hotel .... Thank you all

we were there for 4 nights .... everything was good about the hotel except the house keeping ie the room cleanliness was much below average, they would just make the bed ( that too not arranging all the cushions and pillow) that was just done on day one...and clear the dustbins apart from that there was no other actual cleanliness it was all topical,,,,and also the hotel pool was dirty and unfiltered i wish they could take more care in these two aspects but otherwise a lovely place to stay ...good food and very courteous staff.....

The hotel looked nice on the website with a largish pool...but when we checked in - we were surprised by the amount of space the hotel has - it is SHEER luxury - there are very well landscaped rolling greens, greens and more.....the pool is never ending....and there are host of activities - TT, carom, lawn tennis, billiards etc etc . The walk to the beach was good...the sand was white :) and we loved the whole experience....we also loved the Fins seat out int he boat....and were lucky enough to be checking in on the same day as was a beach wedding! so we saw all people in lovely sarees for free:))....only one compliant - the food is a bit expensive but you can shop for odds and ends at Michaels' corner outside the hotel :D ...overall - I CAN'T WAIT TO GO THERE AGAIN....Goaaaaa here I come - Dimple

Great place for family holiday with plentiful advantages: Own quiet beach, great rooms, plenty of activities at the hotel, away from noisy city, water sporting on beaches, own 24-hours casionos, great pools, lovely bar in pool & some great food at 3 restuarants. Not too far from Varca. Highly recommended property for family visits. Remember, great property if u wishing to stay in South Goa. If u wanna experience Calangute-Baga & the numerous eating places (brittos, tittos, mambo etc) suggest u to stay in North Goa.

Away from the hussle bussle of the city, Zuri White Sands is clearly the best in Goa and probably the only light sand beach on the Arabian Sea.

The hotel looks lovely and the room was spacious and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is a big pool and the beach is just behind the hotel. The restaurant seemed expensive. There are several restaurants just outside the complex which I felt had better food at much cheaper prices. Getting taxis is easy. They are significantly cheaper if you sort them out yourself rather than taking the price that the reception offer.

This hotel was amazing, the location on the beach, the food and staff were just awesome. The breakfast staff especially were wonderful. Wonderful variety of food every morning. The only downside to the hotel is that they control the rates for taxi's from the hotel. We paid 1000 rupees to get from ther airport to the hotel but the hotel charged us about 3000 rupees to get back to the airport., For sightseeing, best advice is to get a cab from hotel down to the church (2kms from hotel) and then get another cab or get on a bus to go into the town. We did walk it once but it was a bit dicey walking on the side of the roads. Otherwise if you just want to chill at the hotel and on the beach, this hotel is ace.

The Zuri White Sands has an amazing staff who are extremely accomodating. The property is just a few minutes walk to its own beach, but it also has an amazing pool. There is a restaurant named Fins that is fantastic, the chef is amazing and the service is excellent. I highly recommend trying it. The resort itself is beautiful and the rooms are nice. If you want to be at a retreat, I definitely recommend them, but you want to go out to North Goa a lot, stay elsewhere. The property is isolated and they have cars ready to take you, but it will definitely cost you. That said, I highly recommend Zuri white sands to anyone visiting Goa.

The zuri white sands is situated on beautiful varca beach. it has a beautiful swimming pool - but the beach is more fun to be on. there are sufficient shacks to eat on the beach. the hotel has good places to eat as well. the complimentary breakfast is pretty good. I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the room. but would still stay there again if i wanted to go to varca.

Mycket hög kvalitet på hotellet med stora rum, med bra restauranter och utmärkt frukostbuffé. En fantastisk strand med fin, nästan mjölig, vit sand.

Hotel jest piękny, ale jesli chodzi o transport do miasta to jest masakra. Moze korzystac z taksówek pod hotelem, ale są one parokrotnie droższe od tych z miasteczka. Niestety nikt nie przyjedzie pod hotel,ponieważ jest mafia taksówkowa.

Hotel liegt direkt am Meer mit großem Pool und wunderbaren Sandstrand. Hotel-Service ist im Restaurantbereich verbesserungswürdig (nichts tragisches, aber keine 5 Sterne), aber bei den sonstigen Qualitäten des Hotels vernachlässigbar. Zimmer sind toll ausgestattet nur das Bett könnte etwas besser sein. Insgesamt eine absolute Empfehlung - erst Recht zu Silvester (tolle Party vom Hotel organisiert).

Positive: Very nice hotel, good staff, good beach and pool. Good food (you can eat raw veg and ice without getting ill, not very common in India). Negative: High prices compared to normal indian prices (but still not expensive). Very quiet, nothing to do outside the hotel, unless you take a taxi atleast 12 km (and remeber that the average speed with car is low in india, 20-50 km/h). Other Russians everywhere.

Etelä-Suomen 2011 syyslomaviikon aikana ei ole vielä sesonki Goalla. Hotellissa oli vähän porukkaa viikolla. Viikonloppuna tuli paikallisia jonkin verran. Henkilökunnan mukaan sesonkin alkaa Lokakuun viimeinen viikko. Sää oli kostea. Olimme onnekkaita kun Hotellilla ei satanut kuin 15 minuttia, mutta ympäristöissä sateita ja ukkosta oli joka ilta. Merellä ollut ukkonen oli upeaa katsottavaa :) Beach on upea kuten myös uima-allas. Vaikea verrata kun ei ole Goalla muissa paikoissa käynyt, mutta Hotelli ei ihan vastaa sitä tasoa kuin kuvista voisi ajatella.Hotellin siisteystaso jätti toivomisen varaa. Voi olla, että off season vaikutti asiaan sillä suuriosa henkilökunnasta oli harjoittelijoita, jotka olivat harjoittelemassa sesonkia varten. Samoin rakenuksista voi sanoa, että olivat jo parhaat päivänsä nähneet mutta kuitenkin ihan ok. Hotellin ja beachin välissä on iso ja siisti viheralua

Evidemment on est en Inde et le service est ... indien. Le café ou le thé que vous avez demandé ne viendra peut-être jamais ou bien tard. Mais ceci est contre-balancé par la gentillesse des personnes qui travaillent là. Une note maximum pour la piscine, la plage et les jardins. Une note maximum également pour les restaurants qui entourent l'hôtel (avec mention particulière pour le Perreira, juste à l'entrée). Les restaurants de l'hôtel sont très chers. La chambre est standard pour ce niveau. Un bon choix.

We had a really good week of relaxation at the hotel. The rooms were spacious and nicly decoraded. Nice and cleen pools and poolareas. No problem getting sunbeds at this time of the year. Many resturants with a lot to choose between, and especially good seafood.

Excellent service and facilities for families, honeymooners, couples or anyone who's looking for relaxation not parties.
