Pilvax Hotel - بودابست

This hotel is situated right in the center of Budapest, with immediate proximity to the Danube, the main sights, several subway and bus lines and lots of shopping streets. It is incredibly conveniently located. The lack of elevator is a bit challenging but you will need the exercise after sampling the Hungarian cuisine. There is a popular Irish pub downstairs and the rowdy visitors can be quite loud during the small hours but mostly the little street is calm and quiet. Our room was huge and the windows open which is great in comparison to the sterile hotels with permanently sealed windows. There was plenty of storage space even for a longer stay and there was a working fridge to put drinks and snacks. The staff was always friendly and helpful and after a few days we were recognized like old customers. Only downsides: the breakfast was mediocre (the rooms can be booked without breakfast, which I recommend) and the wi-fi signal was weak on the upper floors. Other than that the Pilvax is a lot of hotel for your money.

Everything was nice, but the internet was very bad. I hope they will fix it, but the rest was really good compared with the price.

We only slept there and ate at other places,everything was great,the location could not have been better.I would choose this hotel again,only thing no safebox in the room,would have be nice with one.

Very good central location in a pedestrianized area, just a few minutes walk from any central attraction. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a standard continental buffet style but was good and fresh. The room was a good size and was clean and fresh. There is a supermarket directly opposite the entrance to the hotel which was handy. We were there for four days which unfortunately for us encompassed St Patricks day. There is an Irish bar situated under the front rooms of the hotel. The noisy party spilled out into the street until about 1am but no big problem. (only once a year)

Not a fancy hotel by any means - but for the price if you're all about the location this place can't be beat. Very well located and has everything you need if you're on a budget. Clean hotel, helpful staff - and did I say location! I didn't try the breakfast but who in their right mind would eat a hotel breakfast when there's a whole city of culinary adventure to be had!! No complaints here.

Excellent place very close to the most of the attractions. Some noise from the outside, but for the price very good value. Book this hotel WITHOUT breakfast, there is a cheap and well sorted breakfastplace nearby. (not even hot coffee at the hotel!!)

I stayed there 2 nights in October. The location is amazing! 5 minutes to the main attractions but off the main road. breakfast was good. Room was clean and modern. The only thing was that it was facing the back of the building which made it quite dark and I was facing all the rubbish bags they put out there. But as I was out most of the day anyway I put up with it. I don't think it is very well insulated and it depends on your neighbours how loud/quiet it is but overall I would stay there again.

Nice, simple, clean, good-price and well located.

Very impressed with this hotel. Clean, friendly staff and excellent location. Free wi-fi too and the bar was a nice place to spend the evening, with friendly local staff. Wouldn't bother looking for any place else to stay when i head back to Budapest!

the hotel made our stay in Budapest gr8, the location, staff and room were wonderful especially for the price. If I go back to Budapest I would stay there again. The reception people were so friendly and helpful, thanks for a great experience!!!

The hotel was located in the center of Budapest. So this place was a really good "home base" for me. The hotel itself was clean and functional, as in typical European hotels. The people at the front desk were very helpful in general, and they spoke English well. If I ever go to Budapest again, I would stay here again.

I've just returned from a very enjoyable 5 night stay at the Pilvax Hotel, Pest, Budapest. The hotel is located under half a mile from the centre of town on a pedestrian street (also called Pilvax). It's the perfect location if your interested in seeing the shops and bars of Pest and only a few streets from the Danube. If your flying into Terminal1 with Wizzair you will find that its only a 2 minute walk from the Wizzbuss drop off. On arrival, on a very cold day, we were greeted by a very friendly assistant at the front desk. Her English was impeccable and supplied us with a map of the city along with flyers of the local sites. We were placed in a twin room on the first floor overlooking the main entrance. The room consisted of two decent sized beds, firm but with a soft topping, a TV showing German and American TV, a large lockable fridge and a compact bathroom with an excellent shower, large double wardrobe and table and chairs. The room was a fair size and easily enough space for me and my drinking buddy, we are both well over 6 foot and found the beds very comfortable. All the staff at the hotel were very helpful, with the main desk being manned 24hours allowing you to come and go as you please at any hour. This can be important in Budapest as many bars and clubs are tucked away underground and you loose track of the time. On the same street as the hotel you have the Pilvax restaurant and bar (both part of the hotel but accessible from the exterior too) and the Guinness house, a fantastic modern Irish Bar. In the GH you can get excellent food from 11am, as well as fine hot and cold drinks with good banter from the customers and staff who come from a range of nationalities. Not far away you have all the high fashion outlets of pest, as well as being a 10 minute walk from the Octagon which leads to all the top night spots in Pest. The Pilvax Hotel, Budapeat is in an excellent location, close to all amenities. Only 5 mins to metro and 3 stops to the main railway station in rhe West End. Great value and I would defenitely recomment it.

the room assigned to us was very samll and tight. you could hardly move around and the bathroom as so small that you can't even make any movements. there are no amenities like shampoo's etc. the best thing to this hotel inspit e with all these comments is that the girl behing the counter Victoria is the best thing that ever happened to this hotel she was very helpful and always with a smile. what a gem of a person. i wish i could say the same thing with the guy who took over the night shift. not too friendly.

great location near to shops and bars with easy access to sights. very good cafe 'gerloczy' oposite the irish bar at the end of the steet. no lift in the hotel but only two floors so not a major problem. no real bargins to be had but very nice people and enjoyable place

Great hotel in a good location near to bars and restaurants and 5 minutes from a metro station. Staff were helpful and polite.

We selected this hotel mainly for its central location. We were very satisfied with the service and the standard of cleanliness. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We used the hotel restaurant twice for dinner and we were impressed by the superb food, well cooked and served up magnificently. The breakfast buffet was well organized, well prepared and with coffee and drinks made to order. We didn't require the services of a lift but for those that do, the hotel unfortunately does not have one. All in all, a very pleasant stay and we would use this hotel again.

Hotel staff was fantastic. Rooms were of an adequate size and very comfortable for both of us and all of our luggage. The hotel is very convenient and within walking distance to local sights or to the nearest metro. I plan to stay there again on my next visit to Budapest.

Location was fantastic. Convenient to food and markets. Receptionist was very good. Hard work lugging bags up three stories.

a fantastic hotel - big, absolutely spotless rooms - situated on a lovely street in Pest with plenty of great restuarants and cafes! only a few minutes walk away from the Danube - Buda can be easily reached on foot from the hotel. very friendly, helpful staff. only (very slight) downside is that there is a bar underneath the hotel which got a bit noisy in our first floor room on the Friday night - but not unbearable by any means! would recommend that people who might be bothered by this ask for a room on the second floor. other than that, a truly great stay in a lovely hotel!

pros: -location next to Vaci Utca (main shopping street) and close to Danube River helpful hotel staff -computer with free internet access in lobby -price cons: -no elevator. had to carry luggage up to the first floor walk across the hotel then carry up another flight to the second floor. I suggest requesting a room on the first floor. - free breakfast consisted of toast with butter, jam, and cold cuts -I arrived on a national holiday (Aug. 20) and many streets were blocked off. The airport shuttle was unable to have access into the area. I was dropped off as close as possible, and it took me about 20-30 minutes to walk to the hotel with all of my luggage.

Na najwyższą ocenę zasługuje zarówno położenie hotelu, jakość obsługi czy czystość pokoju. Hotel w samym Centrum, przy ulicy Váci, wszędzie blisko. Okolice bardzo ładne. Obsługa przesympatyczna i bardzo wyrozumiała dla mojego wegierskiego. Pokoik trochę mały, ale na wypad nastawiony na "tylko nocujemy w hotelu" w sam raz. Bardzo czysto! Do wad zaliczę jedynie hałasujący kaloryfer (gdy byl zakręcony, przetaczał głośno wodę, co w nocy bardzo przeszkadzało - by temu przeciwdziałać, należało go odkręcić i otworzyć okno, bo klima działa tylko od maja do września, a inaczej jest bardzo goraco) oraz skromne śniadania - niby szwedzki stół, ale ubogi. Pomimo to polecam!

Frokost er veldig beskjeden, ganske mye bråk sent på kvelden og om natten utendørs pga Irsk pub nede, for øvrig bra. Det er veldig god beliggenheten, ved siden av er 2 metrostasjoner på 2 linier, overfor bank med minibanken og en veldig god matbutikk, nær stor handelsgata Vaci utca. Det mangler el. tekanne på rommet og man må ta den med seg. Jeg skal reise til Budapest i september og vil ta meg igjen inn på dette hotellet.

Vi synes hotellet lå centralt, service, morgenmad mm var bare super. men der var en del støj tidlige morgener fra gaden, når supermarkedet overfor skulle have varelevering.

Vi är väldigt nöjda med vår vistelse på Hotel Pilvax. Läget är svårslaget med bankomat precis mitt emot hotellet och en minuts promenad från Vacia Utca. Rekommenderar City Hotel Pilvax för alla vänner som skall till Budapest och inte vill lägga hela reskassan på hotellvistelsen men ändå bo centralt och bekvämt.

Vi är jättenöjda med vår vistelse i Budapest och på City Hotel Pilvax. Det enda som kunde upplevas störande var möjligtvis ljudet från gatan utanför hotellet men det är priset man får betala för att bo så centralt. Bättre läge kunde vi inte ha önskat oss och till ett pris som känns svårslaget. Rekommenderar Pilvax till alla som vill ha centralt boende i Budapest och inte vill spendera reskassan på hotellet.

fik først værelser mod gaden,hvor vinduer ikke kunne åbnes, og airkonditien virkede ikke før 1 maj-så vi måtte bede om nye værelser med oplukkelige vinduer.(der var ca. 20-25 grader udenfor). NB:metro station-ferenciek tere, ligger 100 meter fra hotellet-blå linie M3(lufthavns tog) Morgen maden acceptabel, når man tager prisen i betragtning

pilvax har bra läge i centrum gågata på framsidan på hörnan av hotelet är där en bra irländsk pub frukost helt ok under 5 euro när man bokar iförväg helt klart nästa gång blir det pilvax igen!

Vi var på Pilwax i 5 netter og var veldig fornøyde. Behjelpelig personal som gjorde alt for at vi skulle være fornøyde. rommet var helt OK. fint til å være 3 stjerner. det eneste vi synes var negativt var frokosten. hadde ikke bestillt frokost, men spiste det en dag på hotellet og det var definitivt ikke verdt pengene.

Buen hotel, acorde con el precio. El único problema es que hay que subir a las habitaciones por escalera. Lo minimo son 2 pisos, ya que en el primero no hay habitaciones. Pudo haber sido más servicial el personal de conserjería, que no aportaba datos e información sobre transporte, recomendaciones, etc. El mantenimiento y la limpieza del baño podía ser mejor.

Hotellet har toppenläge, men lördagskvällen spelar en Irländsk pub väl hög musik som är störande i rummen mot gatan. Frukosten är inte på topp, men det är så billigt där så gå ut och ät istället. Helt godkända rum och trevlig hjälpsam personal. Kan rekommenderas om man vill bo centralt till en billig penning.

Direi tutto perfetto: unica pecca la luce che passa dalle finestre nelle ore notturne. Considerando il resto, ne vale veramente la peena.

Beliggenheten var helt topp, veldig sentralt. Det var imidlertid veldig bråkete utenfor hotellet fra kl. 05 om morgenen. Jeg vil derfor anbefale folk å be om et rom mot bakgården dersom de skulle bo der. Ellers var hotellet helt greit bortsett fra sengene. De var VELDIG harde og dermed sov vi ikke så godt de dagene vi var der. Frokosten var ok, men kunne kanskje ha vært litt mer fristende.
