The hotel is close to the train station in quietest neiborhood of Venice. The room was decent in size, the bathroom was clean and well provisioned with a nice shower. The bed was excellent, firm yet soft top, which is big in Italy. The Hotel staff was excellent and very helpful and the breakfast had many choices. This is a highly recommended small Hotel. There was no elevator to the second floor for those with huge suitcases.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel . The room was larger than I expected and the bed was very comfortable. Given that you have to carry your bags into Venice from the railway station the locations was great. Highly recomended.

We stayed here over Easter 2012 and thought the locanda was excellent value for money. The location is not near the main tourist areas but these can be accessed by water boat / 30min walk. The hotel is just off the main street and we found it very easy. Check in was fine and the room clean and comfortable. If your expecting 5* then go and pay 5* prices. You are in Venice to see Venice and therefore the hotel should just be a place to stay - the hotel is ideal for this purpose. Breakfast - well it is Venice so expect to eat like the Italians, if your after a full English then go to England. The breakfast consisted of croissants, cheese, crackers, coffee and fresh orange juice- not a huge selection but enough to set you up for the day. The same breakfast is €7.50 at the local cafe. We stayed in room no 4 and have no complaints about the hotel. If we went to Venice again we would have no hesitation in staying again!! The hotel left us a Easter egg on our final day which was a nice touch. All in all a good stay ! Only negative was the €2.50 pppn tourist tax which we was not advised of!!

Clean, Quiet, Comfortable.

To begin this rating is compared to a 5-star hotel room. For the price, it was a nice place to stay. Compared to most other European hotels, the rooms were quite large and plenty of room for baggage. The location of the hotel was nice as well, being on the "main street" that loops around Venice made things easy. The staff working there were all very nice helped out a lot. The only downfalls were no hot water on our second morning, first morning was fine. This lasted for at least 2 hours then we had to leave (no idea when it came back on), we had to checkout without taking a shower. Also, the wi-fi only worked downstairs in the lobby and you are only allowed 2 hours free, anything after that is 5 euro per hour. Breakfast was small, breads, jam, cereal, and yougurt, but a good coffee machine! All in all, nice place at a decent price during Carnivale.

Overall nice hotel with basic facilities. An unexpected failure of the boiler nearly had both of us to have shower with cold water, but the staff of the hotel sorted that out fairly quick. The good price though does not justify the lack of facilities to make a drink in your room.

Great location! We felt our room was large by Europeon standards and again the location was perfect. We were able to walk to everything...nothing was more than a 10 to 20 minute walk. There were restaurants, grocery stores and everything you might need within a block of the hotel. The staff was great and very helpful with all of our questions. I would definitely stay here again.

Locanda was a charming little hotel, clean, convenient, great price and friendly staff. We couldn't of asked for anything more in Venice. My husband and I searched high and low for a decent hotel in Venice that wasn't going to break the bank, Locanda was definitely all that and more. I couldn't begin to thank the staff there enough. They were friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond their role to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Overall great value for what u pay.

the webpage says washer/dryer...not it 3 years. there was free wireless in our rooms and in the hotel areas. The owners were very nice and very helpful. It's not a fancy place, but it was nice.

It was a lovely small hotel with a very helpful gentleman at the front desk. The proximity to all shops and restaurants was outstanding. It was an ideal location for our one night stay.

I loved the hotel! The room was nice, the bathroom was clean. The hotel was not far from the railway station and we foung it immediately. The staff was very frienly and helpful. The breakfast includes a brioche, roll, butter, jams, cornflakes, cheese, yoghurt, tea and coffee. I would recommend this hotel!

the staff was friendly and helpful, its in a good neighborhood with plenty to do nearby, and about 30 minutes from the big sites, with plenty to see and do a long the way. a 5 minute walk to one of the water bus stations.

We stayed at the Herion for two nights. It felt like we were visiting family. Anna makes you feel like you are staying in her home. The complimentary breakfast was perfect. Anna takes the time to put fresh linen tablecloths on all the tables. I made a long distance phone call and Anna did not want to be paid for it. My husband and I loved it. I would recommend it and I have recommended it and for sure I will stay there again when in Venice. Thank you Anna from Montreal Canada

Good location, hotel room was good. Stayed for 5 nights. Good sized room, good breakfast, free wifi, clean. Only downfall is the fact theres no safe in the room (but all our belongings were fine) and the towels didn't get changed. I would stay again!

MY HUSBAND AND I RECENTLY SPENT 5 DAYS IN VENICE AT THE LOCANDA HERION. ANNA, HER BROTHER AND STAFF MADE OUR STAY IN VENICE FABULOUS. WE FELT WE WERE VISITING FAMILY. ANNA HELPED US WITH RECOMMENDATIONS OF PLACES NOT TO MISS AND RESTAURANTS THAT WERE AFFORDABLE WITH DELICIOUS FOOD. SHE PRINTED OUR AIRLINE PASSES FOR US AND WE ENJOYED THE DAILY CONVERSATIONS WE HAD WITH HER. THE HOTEL IS HARD TO FIND DUE TO SIGN RESTRICTIONS IN VENICE, BUT SO WORTH THE EFFORT. IT IS CHARMING AND QUIET AND VERY CLOSE TO A VAPERETTO STOP ON THE GRAND CANAL. IT IS LITERALLY A 10 MINUTE WALK FROM ST. LUCIA TRAIN STATION. THE CANNAREGIO IS GREAT LOCATION AND YOU ARE NOT BOMBARDED WITH CROWDS LIKE IN OTHER PLACES. WE LOOK FORWARD TO RETURNING TO VENICE AND STAYING LONGER WITH ANNA.

Room was fine, but the hotel was difficult to locate: only a small name plate on the front door. The TV in the room was not connected properly and it took some effort to reconnect it so that it would work. The location was fine. The price seemed high, but reasonable for other prices in Venice this year.

You can't tell a thing about the hotel from the outside. Including where it is at! It's stuck in the corner in a building behind one of the main streets. The address is no help & the little bitty sign on the door is not helpful either. But once inside we found the hotel to be nice & the staff helpful. Our room had a balcony and was a really good size. The bed was really comfortable. The breakfast was a slim selection but we found it to be sufficient. It was weird there is no hotel staff at night. The only bad thing was there was mold in the shower. Perhaps a tough problem for the humid climate?

very nice room clean and comfortable. Position good need max 30' walk to the central 'Piazza san Marco' or can take the 'vaporetto' very close to the hotel. People at the reception very nice and skillfull

The hotel staff were really friendly and helpful. We liked our room, clean and good size. We especially liked the hotel breakfast, best breakfast during our Europe trip!

We stayed at this hotel for one night because we were taking a cruise the next morning. From the moment we got there the staff was so helpful, kind and friedly. The hotel and room were very clean, modern, but somewhat venezian at the same time. Location was great! It's owned by brother and sister and they are very passionate about what they do. I would stay here again in a hartbeat

A literal 10 minute comfortable walk from the railway station, well located (apart from the tricky entrance down a side street), just keep watching the street numbers - any gap, numbers will be in the side street. Friendly, helpful staff.

Personale giovane e cordiale, molto disponibile e preparato. L'hotel si trova vicino a pochi passi da canal grande, alla fermata di San Marcuola (accanto al Casinò). Ottima colazione continentale, stanze pulitissime e sempre riordinate, asciugamani cambiati ogni giorno, forniti anche i saponi da bagno. Ottima posizione per arrivare a Rialto (10 min a piedi percorrendo la strada nova) e per visitare Murano e Burano (prendendo il vaporetto 4.2 da Guglie per scendere a Murano, e poi lì prendere il 12 per Burano). Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo: CONSIGLIATISSIMO

Ci torneremmo senza alcun dubbio, anche per il prezzo conveniente e, in special modo, per la tranquillità dell'hotel e la sua vicinanza all'imbarcadero. Unici nei : la colazione potrebbe essere un po' più ricca e la pulizia della camera più accurata.

je recommanderai cette hotel pour sa propreté, son prix,son café a volonté au petit déjeuné et surtout très facile a trouver lorsqu'ue nous débarquons a venise.

Waren für zwei Nächte in Venedig. Die Locanda liegt nicht mitten im Touristentrubel, ist aber sehr schnell erreichbar. Komfort wie im Hotel, hatten Zimmer mit großem Bad mit Fenstern, Frühstück im Innenhof auch ok. Für Venedig gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis.

Hotellet var ekstremt dårlig skiltet, så vi fant det ikke med en gang. Men hadde adressen, så det ordnet seg. Stort, fint rom. Stort takmaleri, skikkelig flott! Badet var ikke helt nytt akkurat, men greit nok. Frokosten var inkludert, men det var ikke store utvalget... Beliggenheten var bra, ikke midt i alle de forvirrende, labyrintgatene, men litt utenfor. I nærheten av togstasjonen (noe som var praktisk da vi hadde handlet alt for mye i Milano) og Piazzale Roma. Et koselig, lite hotell som jeg er fornøyd med!

Locanda é um hotel simpático , posui quartos com banheiros (coisa rara em Veneza), estgá perto da estação de trem e uns 15 min a pé da praça de San Marco.

7-10 mins walk distance from railway station with lagguages is convenice. The hotel is near pier which is great for water boat visit. Owner of the hotel is nice to recommend restaurant, which is good and money worth for tourists. The hotel room size is quite big for a double room and nice decoration with glass chandelier, which is famous art of venice. The ceiling is painted with picture. The booking price is attractive as i think compare to other hotels in Roma.

My wife and I spent the last weekend of April in Venice at Locanda Herion. This is a very nice little hotel compared to the price you pay. The room was basic, but met our expectations. The staff was friendly and helpful. Great location and great price. I would recommend it, and choose it again, if I where to visit Venice any time soon.

très bon accueil et très sympathique. bien situer quartier calme pas loin de la place de Roma et la gare ferroviaire. petit déjeuner avec croissants et petit pain chaud tous les matin, café soluble en machine pas de frais café. peut s'améliorai au niveau du petit déjeuner.

Hotel is owned by brother and sister and they were very helpful! Close to Vaporetto Station S. Marcuola, which is very handy if you have heavy luggage. Breakfast is quite basic (no fresh fruit), but Italians generally have a only small breakfast. We loved to be able to sit outside in the little patio for breakfast! Overall, it's good value for your money! Most of the other hotels in Venice are more expensive and offer less comfort! We are definately going to stay there again !

HOTEL AGRÉABLE ET BIEN SITUÉ.BON ACCUEIL

Et hotel som ligger placeret tæt ved banegården i et meget hyggeligt område. Ganske vist er det et stykke fra de store seværdigheder, men en god gåtur eller en busbåd bringer dig hurtigt ned til Markuspladsen i den anden ende af byen. Og det er et virkelig hyggeligt område at bo i. Vi fik en overvældende velkomst af den utroligt søde portier og alle de ansatte var virkelig flinke og hjælpsomme. På en måde har hotellet med sine smalle trapper og lidt upraktiske udformning karakter af en Bed & Breakfast, men det er ikke tilfældet. Værelserne lever fuldt ud op til det, vi har oplevet andre steder i Italien og Europa og førnævnte karaktertræk er sammen med de gæstfri ansatte med til at give en mere hjemlig atmosfære. Morgenmaden er anstændig, men ikke prangende.

l'hotel est facile à trouver depuis la gare, à coté d'une rue animée commerçante, mais très calme à l'intérieur. Le personnel parle français et est accueillant. Le petit-déjeuner (self-service plutôt copieux) peut être pris en terrasse. Les chambres sont très propres et spacieuses. Une bonne adresse!
