Lady at front counter was very nice she accommodated us and went above and beyond for our stay! Clean room great location!

Motel style hotel with free parking which is a big plus in San Fran. The hotel is a taxi or bus journey to San Fran. The walls were paper thin, could plainly hear a baby next door. However, the hotel was clean.

My wife and I loved to location. Bus stop at the corner. Two short blocks to a cable car stop. Many good places to eat close by. Internet connection not great, kept disconnecting. If the opportunity arises, we would stay there again.

I think they need to improve more better services for the guest. The ice machine wasn't working and the bending machines as well. I think also they should put snacks as well and a better service to the guests. I did enjoy my stay but it can be better.

pretty...nice really comfortable beds...but only down side is the parking....

We rode our motorcycle and it was a safe place for our bike. It was only a nice walk to fisherman warf, and Alcatras boats. The inn on broadway was a good place to stay for the price.

Noises from surrounding streets are really loud inside the room. The only elevator makes odd loud sounds when going up, and front desk saids it is old but still working!

The lift was a bit frightening as it was not operating correctly on the upward journeys.

We chose this hotel bc it was affordable. 80/night. At that rate we expected something: this place was a glorified motel... There were 3 locks on the bedroom door-and although it seemed that the owner tried to spruce it up-it still fell short. I would have rather spent 30 dollars more for a legitimate hotel

It was alright. Especially for the location.

The room was clean, hotel staff was very friendly, good location for walking to tourist attractions.

The Inn on Broadway is a nice reasonable hotel for a one or two night stay in the city. Its a little short on amenity but for the cost I'll bring my own shampoo. Its located right off Van Ness which connects to everything else so getting to where ever you need to go is pretty easy. The little restaurant located on the property was a great place to have breakfast. The room was very clean, the bed very comfortable and everything worked well. The office staff was very helpful. Now having lived in SFO for many years I can say the neighborhood is not the best, but hey, that's San Francisco. Would I stay again, Yep!

Room was outdated but stunk. Clean and bed was comfortable. Good location for night scene.

real nice i would stay there agin great place

Good location, recently remodeled rooms, plenty of restaurants and views within walking distance, low price, and free parking in downtown SF! The location was noisy both traffic and street noise.

The location & free parking are a big plus with this hotel but otherwise its pretty old & the up keep is minimal. The internet connection was good & I liked that I had a microwave & refrigerator in my room. The elevator was a bit scary so I walked the stairs except to bring my luggage in and out. For the price its not bad but not good either.

Very pleasantly surprised. For San Francisco, and the location, this was a bargain stay, While this motel is older, I was surprised at how nice it was. Very clean, from the rooms, to the outside walkways to the garage. The location is good, though a bit noisy early in the morning as VanNess Ave is one of the busiest streets in the city. But turn on the heat or air conditioning and the white noise masks the street noise. Good restaurants close by and close to public transportation, and if your driving very convenient. The beds were comfortable, lots of channels on the TV, a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker, with some decent coffee. And convenient little breakfast and lunch cafe on the corner, though not part of the motel. Finally, the staff was friendly and helpful. Lastly easy to get to the electrical outlets and plenty of them for charging all my stuff and pretty good WiFi!

For that location in Frisco, great price. The walls are too thin though so be mindful of your neighbor in the next room. Excellent parking, a big plus for me. Too many young people so not a hotel for old folks who want to relax. Guy at desk was very cool and we had a good chat about life in the bay. Overall a good hotel for the price.

Great location but rooms are very outdated and miserable. Spend the extra $10-$20 in a hotel with at least 3 Full stars!!

the clerk when i checked in was not very polite. its a motel, not an inn!

The street traffic in the room I stayed in this time was loud . 1st floor, last year was on the 2nd floor

This is not a hotel but a old smelly motel right on Van Ness. Not only could you hear the traffic even with windows closed, there were people staying there that were up all night partying and the mgmt did nothing about it. The room had a musty odor which was trying to be masked by some perfumy air freshener that only made it worse.

I came here with a group of 4 and I must say it was one of the best places I've stayed for the price I paid. It was clean, front desk was OK, they had a fridge and microwave (it's extremely useful if you are traveling with friends and staying long) By far, very convenient location because Van Ness is a main street so it's easy to take the bus or even walk to places. I will definitely consider this place next time I come to SF!

Room are a little run down. Parking can be a pain,small spaces and not enough for all tennants to park daily.

we had a ground floor room & I didn't feel very safe.

Pros: convenient location, good budget price, friendly staff, parking. The rooms are nicer than the outside indicates. There are some homeless in the neighborhood but we felt fine about it. Close to restaurants and moderate walk to many sights. The internet connection was flaky (seemed overloaded at popular times). No amenities (breakfast, pool, etc.).

This is a really awesome hotel. You wouldn't think it from its rather unimpressive exterior but the rooms are beautiful. It is in/near the Russian Hill District which is in perfect distance via muni from basically every location. It is also far enough off the beaten path that you don't have to deal with any of the seedy side of SF. The only downfall would be that these are exterior rooms so you will hear traffic etc early in the a.m. but i found that with a little bit of white noise most of this is drowned out.

I had read a few reviews about traffic noise. So I just requested a second floor room away from Van Ness, and heard no noise.

The bed was comfy, the room was clean, and the staff was friendly enough. But the walls are paper thin. You can hear the constant traffic noise on Hwy 101. You can hear your neighbors TV, hear them shower, smell them smoking. The hotel is located three blocks from the Cable Car line, and several MUNI bus stops are within a couple block radius as well to get you around the city - which is good, because there's nothing really around this place. We stayed here because everything else that was affordable near where we were actually going was full. Bottom line, this hotel sufficed and we had an enjoyable enough stay. I just wish I had brought earplugs for when I was sleeping.

Great location. Hotel looks old and unimpressive from the outside but my room was large and comfortable with microwave, refrigerator, coffee-maker and free wifi. I would definitely stay here again.

When reading the reviews, I was kind of expecting to just deal with a "dump". I was more than happy. We arrived early and they allowed us to check in early which was great. The room was clean and cozy. I loved the bed, very comfortable and had a great comforter for the cold nights of San Fran. I was expecting one of those cheesey thin flowery comforters. The water pressure in the shower was almost too strong, and the hot water was HOT! There was a little fridge and microwave in our room which was great for drinks and snacks. The maid service was excellent, fresh towels every day even though we did not request it. I would definately stay here again and would reccomend it to friends. Also, the location was great, close to walgreens and CVS, and we walked to about everywhere, the marina, Fisherman's Wharf, Market ST.

Arrived at 315p for check-in. Desk clerk said rooms are not ready. I waited and was finally sent to a room. Opened the door, it was messy, smelled a horrible foul decay, and housekeeping had not cleaned it. I returned to desk, he changed my room, 2nd room was very hot, smelled like chemicals. Turned on air conditioner and it blew a strong awful urine smell. Bedspread was worn and tattered. No other rooms were available. I sprayed my air freshener and tolerated. The night was noisy with people running up and down the noisy steps throughout the night. I didnt sleep well. In the am, at 10:51, a different desk clerk called my room, says 10 minutes till checkout. I told him my reservation and info on hotels.com said check-in is 3, and checkout at noon. He said NO, sorry, checkout is 11:00. I gathered my things and checked out at 11am so that he wouldn't rip me off with my credit card number for staying past 11. NEVER AGAIN will I stay here or recommend this place to my clients, friends or anyone I know visiting SF..There are much nicer places for your money in the neighborhood. The one positive thing is it is not far from Fisherman's Wharf.

The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bus station for the line leading up to Fisherman's Wharf is right across the street so that made getting around town very easy! The only down side was that fact that you could hear everything, your room neighbors and the busy traffic on Van Ness street. All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel!

This is one of the cheaper, cleaner hotels I found that was close to Fisherman's Wharf and other spots we wanted to be near. The room was very simple and clean. The room was actually quite big as well. The location was also great. It was about a 10-minute walk to the Wharf (uphill on the way back) and the surrounding neighborhood was great for young people with many restaurants and bars. My only complaint about the hotel was that it was very loud during the night. Guests would come in at all hours of the night and be extremely loud. There was also a lot of noise coming from the street as it is on a busy corner.

The Inn on Broadway was clean and the staff was friendly. Considering the busy area, our room was pretty quiet. The bed was really comfortable! My only complaint is the lack of staff knowledge regarding use of public transport. We were unfamiliar with that area of SF and were without a car. We asked for help to reach fairly common venues (ATT Park, Golden Gate Park), and the staff seemed as unfamiliar with the bus system as I was. If you know the bus routes, the Inn does appear to be conveniently located (we learned as we went!) We also asked about a nearby market and were directed to a large grocery store several blocks away. When we walked around a bit, there was a small but well-stocked market only one block up! The adjoining restaraunt was very good.
