A great 5 star hotel not too far from the main city. With the local metro system a 5 min walk from the hotel [Francos Station], this is an ideal spot for those who like their peace and quite in the evenings. Porto itself is a historic city with so much to see and do. The hotel is designed to a classy modern architecture holding very expensive furnishing. A 'New York' bar serves excellent food including vegetarian food and serves non-alcoholics drinks too. The main restaurant is also very elegant for those special occasions. The SPA facilities are amazing and well worth the ten euros per day for its use; great lockers with personal magnetic card type keys allow you to obtain orange bath robes and wet slippers. The spa also houses a great pool, a massive jacuzzi and choice of steam rooms including herbal/salt options and to end off the routine a relaxation room for wind down after a hectic day site seeing. The staff are very professional and welcoming in all areas of the hotel; including the cleaning staff who do a superb job of making sure you return to a immaculate room. The room itself is well designed and has great facilities such as a huge king size bed; great ambient lighting; climate control functionality; a LCD TV and mini bar. The washroom facilities are superb; all housed in a modern glass room; which also has speakers that allow guests to listen to the TV music whilst bathing. If you like me find breakfast expensive at 22 euros per person there are many coffee shops on the main highway 3-4 mins walk from the hotel. A further 20-30 min walk takes you too the magnificent Art museum and gardens. Overall a well deserved 5 star hotel; deserving a 5 star rating. My wife and I [38-39 years old] will certainly be returning to this hotel; Well done and thanks for making it a special week.

Hotel with everything you would expect from a 5* plus a bit more! The food was very good, the decor great and the staff could not do enough to help. Sadly it is quite a way to the old town - which is a must see - and also a taxi ride to the coast BUT the facilities here made up for it.

Gorgeous hotel with very helpful staff. The spa is amazing with unique saunas and a giant jacuzzi area with different "stations." Worth the 10euros. Booking through a US website gets you a better deal.

The Porto Sheraton is a very modern building away from the Downtown district. The staff, decor, and ambiance are very nice - but perhaps more so for a convention attendee than for a leisure traveler wishing to explore the more historical city. Taxis are plentiful and inexpensive to get to the Downtown area.

This hotel was stunning. Gorgeous lobby, wonderful gym, comfortable large clean rooms. However, as a tourist, the location was less than ideal. It was not close to either the city center or Ribeira (15 and 45 minute subway ride respectively) and there was very little in the area as far as places to eat other than a few over priced hotel restaurants and a McDonalds.

This hotel was really remarkable especially given the price you pay. The staff were always helpful and friendly and the rooms were incredible and kept to a extremely high standard. The high point of the hotel had to be the spa. The cost of access to the spa and pool may be off putting for some people but it was only ten Euros and for the facilities including different treatment rooms that are available it is more than worth it.

This hotel is great - clean, modern rooms with all the amenities. Nice bar and restaurant. And the Spa is amazing. Because my flight arrived before check-in time it was the perfect place to relax. I had a great massage, manicure, and a really good haircut in the salon. My favorite part was the steam rooms with different aromatherapy themes. The location is a little far from the historic center, but it was an easy taxi ride and I preferred to be away from the noise anyway. I would love to go back sometime and stay longer.

My main reason for staying at the sheraton was so that I can use the pool every night after a full day of work. I was very shocked and disappointed that they charged 10 euros (thats 15 dollars) to use the pool. That would mean 20 euros each night for myself and my husband for a 1/2 hour swim. Otherwise the staff was very helpful.

I highly recommend this hotel, service was excellent and lobby staff were friendly.

Everything about the hotel was fine and just what you would expect from a chain hotel at this level but nothing more. The location isn't great and its a bit difficult to locate with the one way system. Overall a nice enough stay and no complaints.

Wetayed in the Sheraton Oporto for 9 nights June 2009. We loved every minute of it. The foyer and reception area is amazing. The staff are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble and they are always so polite and friendly. The room was excellent, large, big bathroom with seperate bath and shower. Bed was excellent - hard but not too hard! Again glass is a feature. The spa for €10 is well worth doing, with access to the pool, largest jacuzzi we've ever seen and 5 different heat treatment rooms. You can lie by the indoors pool on very comfortable loungers. Access to the gym is free. There is also a hairdresser. The bar is lovely for morning coffee and drinks at night, with a lovely garden area and fairylights at night. Live music on the weekend. Bar meals are very reasonable. Restaurant meal was a great treat - not cheap but worth it. Hope to go back one day!!

Very clean and good sized rooms in a modern hotel and welcoming, helpful staff. It is a couple of miles from the city centre but well served by regular buses and a Metro station nearby. We did get very good rates but you do have to pay 10 Euros for use of the pool/spa which seems a little petty. Porto is well worth a visit and is still good value despite the value of sterling against the Euro. I would recommend both the hotel and Porto for a visit.

The Sheraton was not what I expected at all. Of course it's glamour and star quality was there. I booked this hotel in particular as it has a pool- I have a bad back and I am in need od a swim most days as part of my exercise. When we arrived the pool was under construction and when it was fixed up, there was acharge of 10 euro for it's use!!! This is crazy!! Breakfast sost 20 euro which is an absolute rip off. It also said it was 2 km from porto more like 6 km!!

Tudo é feito para tornar a estadia bastante agradável. Qualidade do Hotel e do seu serviço substancialmente acima da média.

Muy buen hotel. Muy buena atención. Profesionales y atentos todos los empleados. Desayuno excelente. Ninguna queja. Todo positivo.

El hotel tiene unas instalaciones muy cuidadas. Las habitaciones son espaciosas, las camas muy cómodas y el spa es una maravilla para relajarte despues de un día haciendo turismo por esta pintoresca ciudad. El Sheraton se encuentra muy cerca de Av. Boavista, donde circulan autobuses para llegar al centro de Oporto o a la costa izquierda de la ciudad, donde se encuentran diferentes playas, tan solo unos 20-30 minutos de distancia entre ambas zonas. Igualmente los taxis son otra opción recomendable. No son caros y no tuvimos ningún percance de que nos quisieran timar por ser turistas. En la zona hay diversos restaurantes y en Oporto en general se come estupendamente.

Flott hotell, suverent personale. I tillegg er Porto en by hvor du får mye for pengene. Da bør man absolutt unne seg de kronene det koster ekstra å bo så flott som på Sheraton. Hotellet ligger litt utenfor sentrum, men det er enkelt og billig med metro - og taxi er også rimelig

L hotel est moderne. Employes a l accueil tres serviables. Les chambres sont spacieuses et bien equipes mais pas de wifi, uniquement le câble. Wifi disponible dans le hall et au bar. Le service est au bar est un peu lent. Super Spa payant situé au - 1.

Nydelig og luksuriøst hotell med en ekstremt høflig og vennlig betjening. Fikk dessverre ikke benyttet Spa-fasilitetene da jeg kom sent og dro tidlig. Rommene, spesielt baderommet gir følelse av luksus og velvære!

Desde a chegada vc é recebido com muita gentileza, todo o staff é atencioso e não mede esforço para lhe atender. O hotel é muito elegante, quarto excelente, café da manhã e restaurante também. O spa....ah o spa....simplesmente inesquecível. O único inconveniente é que é um pouco longe da ribeira, mas tem táxi na porta e isto é fácil de resolver. Não deixe de fazer o passeio pelo Douro, visitar alguma vinha, ver as pontes e curtir um vinho na beira do Douro a noite. Nós visitamos a Quinta da Pacheca, subindo o rio, na Ponta da Régua, e fomos muito bem recepcionados pela Tânia. Vale o passeio.

Et personale som er opptatt av at kunden skal ha det bra. De er hyggelig, vennlig og opptatt av å ordne opp. Minus for betaling i bassengområdet og lite grønnskaker på frokostbuffeen.

Nous avons sejourné 2 nuits dans cet hotel pour visiter Porto. L'hotel est superbe, le personnel digne d'un 5 étoiles. Pour les visites de porto le metro est assez proche (10 minutes à pieds - station franco). Si on veux vraiment trouvé un point faible à ce super hotel c'est la terasse qui est un peu bruyante avec la circulation de la rue voisine... autant dire que nous y retournerons volontier !!
