Room was too hot. Air conditioning did not work. But everything else was fine.

Lovely hotel with a real sense of history. Nice clean room, good hotel bar. Could not be any more central for all the sights, restaurants, tapas bars and pubs. Will be my first choice next time in Seville.

Though very simple outside this hotel has very nice interior. Service is quite good. But the room lightning was very dark. Even with all lightning equipment on it was difficult to read. Shower head was old and too dispersing. And beds are too shaky and matrasses are too soft. Maybe it is the old English style but now the time is different. Still location and interior are perfect. If you are not going to read or read electronic books is a very good place to stay.

My room was at the back of the hotel and very noisy in the morning and evening while some trucks were unloading stuff. I requested in the booking a twin bed but the first night I was given a king size bed instead and they could not change it because it was late!

I was extremely disappointed why tripadvisor rated this hotel so highly. reasons why i give this hotel a big thumbs down-1)Hotel Facade looks rundown 2)the hotel sign was partly unlit. a sign of wear and tear 3)waited at lobby for 20 minutes to get hotel clerk who spoke english to get off the telephone and help us. we gave up and resorted to other means to help us with driving directions to the freeway. 4)hotel has a musky stale cigarette smell. another lady complained off the same and was told that smoking is prohibited. ok- so the smell from long back still exists! 5)breakfast buffet was staffed very poorly. this hotel thru our entire holiday in spain had worst breakfast food options. only sliced bread. huge chunks of watermelon placed on trays. how about cutting them up in smaller slices! Poor quality teabags. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anybody. and i paid the maximum for this hotel in our entire stay for 6 nights in spain.

The location is excellent on one of the main squares. The rooms are of a good size, clean and well decorated. But the service is not all it could be. I booked a room with a balcony for three nights I arrived to find that I was put in a room without a balcony. I complained and showed my documentation stating clearly that I had booked a room with balcony. Those rooms were full. Mistakes happen. A great hotel would simply admit the error, apologise and suggest some compensation (even just a free breakfast) until they could move me into a correct room. Instead, this hotel tried to say that I was in error, hotels.com were in error, or anyone else but them. I had to fight to get it recognised that I had booked a room with a balcony and to get an assurance that I would be moved the next day. There was never any apology or any admission that they were in the wrong. There were no English language programmes on digital TV. Although no information was given in the room, it was possible to get BBC World (as the only English channel) on the non-digital channels, but the reception was so poor that it could not be watched for long. Wi-fi does not work in the rooms, and only just works in part of the common areas. They do supply a cable if asked, but I could not get that to work either. While I was there lots of frustrated people were trying to get wi-fi on their laptops, and the problem seems to be longstanding, but nobody seems to care.

would go again

The hotel itself was a good value for the price and was centrally located, but the service of the front desk staff was extremely poor. They were not helpful in providing recommendations, and when we asked for their help to book a flamenco show for us in the evening, they not only tried to up-sell us to a different show but also tacked on a 5-euro additional charge to the ticket price of the one we wanted. On our last day, we waited so long for them to get our luggage for us (which was just stored in the room adjoining the front desk and would've taken 2 seconds to get) that we ended up having to just go in and get it ourselves!

This hotel was beyond our expectations. The front desk upgraded our room at no additional cost, and were very helpful getting us tickets for shows and tour buses. We loved the location, right on the Plaza in only steps away from street musicians and the beautiful cathedral. It was a wonderful few days.

This place is on the main square and a block from this town's paseo. It is a short walk to the two main tourist sights and is spitting distance to the tram. To me it seemed more of a business hotel, but it was nice, clean and obviously convenient. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Hotel is in a good location. However the restaurant food was not good. I suggest just going to the barrio Santa Cruz for your meals. Great restaurants there. Also, they had no US adapters for my phone and told me to buy one. This is only hotel I had an issue with US adapters. So bring one if needed. Also wifi does not work in rooms, only lobby. Overall a good stay

I really like it I stay in the superior room and I almos felt at home. At the front desk people were very helpfull guiding us on the places we visited.Also my doughter and her friend forgot their I-phone and other stuff and they were able to save the phone, and on our way to Madrid we stop to pick the stuff without a problem. we were lucky choosing Inglaterra Hotel

Great location to walled city if you do not wish to stay in the old city but lacked decent restaurant and the beds were like sleeping on rocks. If I went back would probably stay at the EME Fusion or the Alfonso XIII.

I loved the hotel, great condition luxury hotel and they treated us like royalty. The location is perfect for sightseeing and good for sleeping. the room was superb, excellent value for money, although they had internet in the rooms wiht a cable, the wifi was available in the lobby and common areas and they made up for it in the superb room they gave us. I have recommended it to firends and will go back there anytime.

hard to beat this location, plus it has onsite parking for a reasonable rate (if you are driving and want to stay in the 'center' like we did, it's really hard to find a good hotel with parking-- actually almost impossibe). the hotel is in excellent condition, the rooms are super big for euro standards, overall hard to beat this price/location/quality! do it!

The best location!

Bookings easy with hotels.com. Location was known beforehand. Room was comfortable and well maintained/serviced. Television channels were extremely limited-four and no Andalucian channel and complete absence of sports channels. Otherwise it was as we expected.

Very good location-- blocks from the Cathedral and the Juderia section. It is also the end of the line of the Tram. Easy way to get there on public transportation. Our room was large and very clean.

The Inglaterra is an old hotel that has been beautifully renovated and decorated. It sits on an attractive plaza with many trees laden with oranges and lemons. Very helpful staff. Room was spacious, quiet and nicely decorated. Walking distance to Alcazar, the Cathedral, the river, many restaurants and small cobblestoned passageways that are washed every night.

great location for walking to all attactions, lots of bars cafes close,shops also near, reception staff not very welcoming or helpfull but it would not stop us gooing back , we enjoyed our stay and Seville is one of the best cities we have visited.

Great location, old hotel, could do with complete overhaul

We had a room on the top floor with a balcony that looked right over the cathedral and the park. It was fabulous, what an amazing place to stay and experience Seville. Highly recommend it.

Beautiful hotel and rooms. Very clean and well appointed. Excellent location, close to everything. Highly recommended.

Being used to small rooms in Europe, the Inglaterra Hotel was a very welcome surprise. We were given an upgrade (without requesting it) and the room was very spacious with a charming living room area. The bathroom was also very comfortable. The only con was that the wireless internet was down but we were offered a able if we wanted to connect a laptop. Location was excellent. From the airport, the hotel is easily reachable through public transportation as described in their website.

Hotel and staff were great and the room was beautiful! My only complaint was that the water pressure in the shower was very low and it was leaking out of the sides.

I chose this hotel because it had wireless Internet. When I checked in, I was told "oh, the Internet has been down for weeks," but they did give me a cable to hook into the the Web. Not ideal, but not a big deal. Unfortunately, the Web crashed every 15 minutes, and I constantly had to go down to the front desk to get them to reboot the router. All of the desk clerks told me "it's just been getting worse and worse," but the manager told me there was no problem. Hotel fail.

My husband, daughter and I stayed at the Inglaterra Hotel on Plaza Nueva in Seville this past March. The hotel itself is conveniently situated facing one of the main squares in Seville witht the added convenience of having the tram line ending right beside it. Upon check-in we were upgraded to the most charming suite I have ever been lucky enough to stay in. While the accomodations could not have been better, my favorite part was having windows which opened out onto the square. It really allowed you to feel the local flavor any time of day! I can't speak to any of the other hotel facilities as we didn't use any of them. If you are visiting Seville, I urge you to consider staying here. Just be sure you request a room facing the square. I should mention; however, that the square can be noisy at time. I loved the liveliness, but did close the windows when it got to be too much.

Nice place, good location. Would stay again.

The hotel staff upgraded my room the junior suite without my request, and he helped my a lot so that I could check my bus timetable and flight schedule. The room was great and the bathroom was clean. But, I didn't like their breakfast, it was too Spanish. My companion liked it though. The location was great, it took less than 5 minutes to the Catedral.

The Ingleterra hotel was in an excellent location, though a little difficult to find at first. It was within walking distance to many of the main tourist sites, also the tram terminal was outside the hotel. I would definately return to the same hotel in the future

If you want to be within walking distance to everything in the center of historical Seville, this is the hotel to be in. It is situated in front of the square (Plaza Nueva) and is surrounded by stores, bars and restaurants in every direction. It's five minutes walk to the cathedral and the Alcazar. It's about an eight minute walk to Plaza de Toro and the Rio Guadalquivir. Although the streets of old Sevile is a labyrinth of narrow cobble stone roads, it seems like they all lead to the main square in front of the hotel. There are some drawbacks though. If you're in Seville to enjoy some "peace and quiet" then I would recommend that you take a room that doesn't face the street. The revelers can get pretty loud at night even during the week. Other than that, the Inglaterra Hotel met most of my expectations and exceeded the rest. I would readily return to this hotel again whenever we visit Seville in the future.

Beautiful hallways and decor, Very nice room. Staff was ok, but not spectacularly friendly. For touring Sevilla, location is great. Lots of outside noise until after midnight.

This hotel is in Plaza Nueva which is not far from restaurants, nightlife and the must see attractions such as the Cathedral. I would recommend this hotel just for the location. The hotel was nice with friendly staff and the room was clean and very cute. Our window opened up to the plaza and we had a spectacular view.

We loved this hotel. Our room was spacious (especially by EU standards) - good bathroom, sitting area and balconey with a great view of the Cathedral - overall very pleasant. The location cannot be beat in Seville. RIght next to Plaza Nueva, within five minutes of many main attractions. The staff was very pleasant. We loved Seville and would definitely stay at the Inglaterra again if we have a chance to return. Highly recommend it!

We were very happy with the hotel. As we only had one night we did not sample the restaurant or the bar so cannot comment - though the restaurant looks good but rather pricey. The hotel was completely gutted and remodelled around 2006-7, hence the mix of other guests comments. It has been very well done, the rooms are beautifully decorated. Air conditioning and plumbing work. The only badly done work is the flooring in the bedrooms which has been done with a cheap laminate material which is already disintigrating leaving a rough uncomforable finish with some nasty edges. The hotel is in an excellent location, we did not suffer at all from any noise as some other guests have reported. The one-way system made initially getting to the hotel by car somewhat confusing because our sat-nav had several streets showing the trafic flow in the reverse direction. We have been to Seville many times, the first time in this hotel but we intend to use it again.

Inglaterra is a fantastic hotel in a great location. It has a beautiful interior, loads of amenities, and a fantastic staff. The only criticism is that our bed was rock hard with equally stiff pillows. We didn't get much sleep as a result. That said, we'd return to the hotel because of the location, but we would ask to see the bed first! :)

This hotel was fantastic--the room was elegant and spacious, the staff very professional and friendly, and the location superb for seeing Seville. It was relatively easy to locate and has parking--making it conveniently accessed. We did a loop of cities in Andalusia, staying in hotels in each--this was one of the best.

The hotel is very nice and beautifully decorated. The location is great and in walking distance to historic sites. We requested a non smoking room but was given a smoking room, on top of that when we saw the sign in the elevator labeling our floor as smoking floor and asked the check in manager, the manager lied to us and told us that this an old sign. The room had a sign that the smoking was allowed.

Unser Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel war super! Es ist ein sehr gemütliches, elegantes Hotel zum Wohlfühlen in ausgesprochen guter Lage. Am Rande der Altstadt ist man mitten im Geschehen und trotzdem ein ruhiges Rückzugsgebiet. Leider war die Dachterrasse geschlossen und damit auch für einen Blick über die Altstadt unzugänglich. Wir würden wiederkommen.
