I wish there were more restaurant options, but Spooner is not too far. Lakeview bar/grill is a good choice right down the road.

was very disapointed that there was no elevator, we had a room on the second floor. They had nothing available on the first, I asked. Breakfast was locked away at 9 AM sharp!!

Our stay was o.k., the room itself was serviceable but the customer service was horrible and we were charged more than we were supposed to be charged. Also we were told that the AARP discount was on there and it wasn't . We were charged the full price that the room normally books for plus some which was not what was agreed upon by hotels.com. Also it was for a reunion and we had 4 sets of rooms for two nights check in with in half hour of each other and every one was charged a different price. The manager literally argued around in circles with us for 20 minutes or more and we finally gave up as we were so exhausted. Then as I was trying to unload he pulls me by my arm back to the lobby to show me he had pulled up the web page for the hotel and what the rate was on there. He was rude and condescending and if I have my way this family will pick another hotel for our next reunion. We booked at least 15 rooms total for two nights and were all treated pretty poorly by the manager. The cost issue really bugs me and we were almost "punished" by the manager for using hotels.com to book the room.

We stayed at this hotel two years ago when it was an AmericInn and our stay was great. It has since been purchased. We were attracted to this hotel because they have a kiddie pool and that fact that we stayed there before. Our stay this time was aweful. The pool was very poorly lit. It looked completely dark which to me would seem like a safety violation. Our room was freezing and I mean freezing. It was 12 degrees outside and the same inside. We were not able to take our coats off until around 10:30 that night. We have two small children so that made the situation even worse. There were dirty plates behind the tv in the room and the floor was very dirty. I would have left if it hadn't the weather hadn't been so bad. I didn't want to take the kids out to find another. Very sad hotel. Such a shame because it used to be really neat.

The room was clean, the refrigerator was ok (didn't get real cold)...the pool area looked nice (didn't have a chance to use it) and the breakfast was fine. it was very quiet there (midwinter). the hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Clean and convenient hotel. Would recommend if staying in Shell Lake.

We stayed one night and found the room to have a larger then normal room size. Very clean. we would stay again.

We stayed in a suite for one night and were very happy with all aspects of the this hotel. The room was clean, well decorated, and comfortable. The only problem was that the pull-out sofa bed was not comfortable AT ALL. The pool area was great and the breakfast was too. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this to anyone needing overnight accommodations in Shell Lake, WI.

I was not impressed with this hotel. The room was not clean, there were old cigars on the balcony, and half a roll of toliet paper in the bathroom. In a vacation destination the breakfeast buffet was only open from 6 until 9, and was not very impressive to boot. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool was great and they do have wifi now. But the room and the overall hotel need matience and cleaning. I will not stay there again.

Not a bad place to stay if in the Shell Lake, Spooner area. Easy to get to, very quiet.
