I was very pleased with the price, breakfast, friendly service, and the view of the gulf from my veranda!

Comfortable, affordable, with great views & a great breakfast to start the day!

Our Hotel was right in front of the beach and very close to other quick resturants and a bar to get drinks. Most of the room had a balconey. The breakfest every morning was awesome and great perk. the only thing I would say is the "employees" of the hotel that weekend were just so slow and very very un helpful. We have stayed at many La Quinta and asked to check in 45 min early. They would Not let us check in 45 min early. I have NEVER had a hotel said no to even 2 hours early. Also when we arrived to check in at 3pm it took us another 45 min just to check in. and some of the room were not even ready for other guest. It was so fusterated. We asked for extra towels and the lady in the front told us that room services could not bring them up to our room so we had to walk down to the front dresk to get them. Other then that great hotel, great view for the price.

This is definitely a place that I will return to. Everyone was friendly and the room was great.

It was awesome!!!!

The noise level of our room made it nearly impossible to get much sleep. Either it was late night partiers or early morning gym goers who thought it was acceptable to talk and argue in the halls, yell at each other or just visit.

Perfect location, comfortable clean rooms and can't ask for better ocean view (Gulf of Mexico) Large assorted breakfast

This was an older hotel under updating, but was very comfortable & clean. Was right on the ocean. We enjoyed our stay there very much. Would strongly recommed it to anyone going to the island.

We enjoyed a very nice stay on SPI. The hotel is just completing some beautiful renovations to the common areas on the first floor, including the addition of a concierge desk and very open "breakfast" area. We stayed in the King Suite with the jacuzzi tub. Everything in the room worked great. Though we did not have a beachfront view, we had very easy access to pool and patio area which overlooked the beach. The hotel also has executive suites with balconies facing the beach which we didn't realize from the hotels.com website. The hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating, making the short trip even more enjoyable. Combined with the excellent hot breakfast buffet included with the stay, we'll definitely be back. The only "downside" is the location. Though it is directly across from the convention center, you do have to drive a little ways back to the main area where food and shopping are located. This is only a minor drawback, however.

They are in the process of putting new ceramic tile on the hallway floors. It was a bit of a hassle working around the construction and lots of dust to track around. Fortunately they didn't start work until around 930a so they didn't wake me up. Our A/C unit was noisy and had a wide temp variation. Staff were friendly and courteous. Location on the beach was great. Breakfast was so-so.

Was nice enough hotel was just not for us with all the kids and dogs. Too noisy and crowded. The pool and hot tub are way too small for a hotel of this size. Continental breakfast was good but once again crowded.

Best La Quinta we have stayed in. We had an ocean view room which was great. The location of the hotel was past the busy part of Padre Island and more laid back. For breakfast they had the usual waffels, but also fruit, cereal, eggs, toast, and very good muffins. There was seating for I would guess about 90 people. Since the Island is not very large we were close to many great restaurants.

Overpriced and ill repairs. Hotel was just short of poor up keep. Beds were comfortable and linens white and clean. Bathroom clean but dated. Plastic cups everywhere in hotel! As well as plates and plastic utensils. I found that wasteful and distasteful. I personally do not like my coffee in plastic. Besides the health issues! The main elevator was down forcing the use of one service elevator. Not at all apeasing. Used the stairwells and found that the management obviously has forgotten what fresh paint can do for a hotel that is abused.

Some things are just luck and you can't do anything about them. That's a little how our stay at La Quinta at South Padre island was Oct 12 and 13th. There was only 1 elevator working which was only a hassle when trying to go to breakfast. They don't have a restaurant or breakfast location so they set up in the conference area on the 4th floor. With only the back elevator working it was a hassle. We also had no idea the largest SPI Biker Fest (yes, biker as in motorcycles) was commencing on Thursday with the center of the Biker Universe being the patio area of the Hilton Garden Inn from dusk till everyone finally fell asleep. The music was good and since most of the folks were old people like us just pretending to still be bikers, they all went to bed by 1am. Rooms were lovely, service was excellent and the location was great. I think we might go back when there isn't a biker fest going on. As it was we cut our stay one day short because we knew they were just getting started! We really appreciated the welcome our dog received and how accommodating the staff was for us.

We were treated great from the onset by Frank at the front desk. We plan to return every year.

Although not LUXURY this hotel puts you at the right location with the benefits of being ON the beach, next to a great bar/restaurant and not in the middle of everything. On the down side, a bit run down with a poor elevator, holes in towels, A/C not the best and thin walls/ceilings. Service was excellent.

Would absolutly return Hotel right on beach just loved it!

Overall our stay was fantastic. We were there for 4-nights. The first room we were put into the A/C was not working. We were moved to another room within minutes of the complaint. The staff was friendly and house keeping did a great job. Can't wait to come back again.

Nice get away spot. Has a Wave bus stop out front accross the street! Great quiet beach access; not too crazy!

Perfect location on the beach!! NOT across the street, and not a long walk to the beach either! Literally on the beach! Next to a bar and grill on the beach as well! Best location on the island....

The location of the hotel is great! However, the parking is horrible. The tub didn't drain quickly, however we didn't bother to mention it to anyone because it drained. I also wished that they would enforce the pool hours. Screaming kids at 1 am is a bit much.

Conveniently located to everything. Loved the easy access to the beach!! Parking lot is very small though.

No service. If you ask for something,they will kindly say yes but they don't do anything about it. They never have towels for the beach. Maid's never replace shampoos,soaps or coffe bags.

access to the beach is exelent. the service is good.

We stayed there for 5days 4nights. The breakfast was okay. Same thing everyday. Scrambled eggs w/ sausage, refried beans, and waffles. They need to change it up for the folks who stay for more than one day. The beach access was very close. The pool was small and gets crowded fast. Room service/maids is very good and very polite. Other people in the hotel did allow their kids to run wild at all hours of the day/night. Not a lot of rules being enforced by the hotel staff. Overall my family and I were satisfied. A little pricey but not to bad for location. Nice little bar next door called Claytons.

We picked this hotel because of the beach access, it was neither spectacular or were we dissatified.

My husband and I went to South Padre Island for a romantic get-away for the weekend. Our stay at the LaQuinta Inn and Suites was the perfect place. It was clean and affordable. We loved the beach. The staff was both friendly and helpful. We are already planning to stay there on our next trip.

Absolutely the worst Laquinta Hotel. I was charged alot of money for two nights stay. The hallways smelled of pets and the pool is too small. Dogs defacating on the beach everywhere. The bathroom shower did not work properly, the drain in the room was broken and the water was insufficient to shower. The AC was very poor and did not adequately cool the room. Parking was very poor with inadequate disabled parking. On the day of checkout, I was unable to access a cart so I called for assistance and was told that someone would come to the room and help move stuff to the lobby, no one ever showed up. Attempted to leave the hotel and the elevators and stairway doors were jammed packed. The Staff was overwhelmed and ineffective.

It was actualy a nice stay especially for the price. The only thing that bothered me were the loud neighbours. That can never be foreseen by the hotel or the person staying so. All in all a great stay.

We stayed in the jacuzzi suite right next to the pool. It was very excellent! The biggest downside was there were no toiletries (soap, shampoo, facewash, etc.) in the room anywhere. Also, we requested a late checkout till 12 noon, but the person at the desk didn't write it down. The maids opened the door (thankfully we had the top lock on as well) and would not go away for some reason. Other than that it was great.

We had a great time there. I booked the room early and got a great deal. We were close to the beach, which was nice. The continental breakfast was better than expected. Overall, it was a nice stay.

My first time in La Quinta at South Padre Island after many stays in South Padre and this was the best stay ever, loved their employees, breakfast, rooms, beach access, pools, next door restaurant, WOW!!! definitely staying there again.

This hotel had a great continental breakfast. The staff was very helpful in suggesting great places to eat and things to do. The hotel is right on the water and is across the street from the nature center and sea turtle rescue center, both of which were very enjoyable. Great place and highly recommend!

Hotel in great location on the beach. The room was clean and comfortable with views of the beach from the balcony. The only downsides were for as many rooms as the hotel has, the pool is was too small. We looked over the Hilton next door in envy of their great pool. Also the continental breakfast was packed with people from 8am till 10 when it was over. You were climbing over people to get a waffle or cup of coffee. But it was ok I guess since it was free. The poolside bar/grill was closed which was a bummer since there is nothing close by to grab to eat when your on the beach except for the fancier restaurant at the Hilton next door which coming off of the beach isn't the best option. All in all a good place to stay for the price. Nothing too fancy but it does the job.

In summary, good hotel to stay for beach activities. Outstanding hot breakfast service, unique Tex-Mex breakfest choices. Elevators were slow, and Hilton Garden inn recently built on north side obstructed views of coast line from several rooms. Pool side snack bar never opened during our stay. Front desk personnel were helpful. Parking somewhat limited.

The Staff at the Front Desk was very unfriendly. No eye contact. When my wife asked a question was very short and curt without a smile. Need to be more informed as to what the Hotel offers.
