The room and the whole floor had a foul smell...sewer is the nearest I can explain it. We asked for another room and it was "booked up". We brought the guy at the front desk up and he didn't smell anything, but said that it might be the product that they cleaned with. (!?) We opened the windows and turned on the air to see if that would help. We were leaving to see Florence. He said that he would check in an hour and if was still there, he would move us, or fix it somehow. When we came back, he was gone and the guy at the front didn't speak any English and "looked" for something for 30 minutes. We had no choice, but to stay at that hour because we had to get up at 4am the next morning. It was a miserable night! We ran the shower for a while thinking that if it was coming up out of the shower, it would settle. We sprayed everything that we had there to spray and tried to sleep. Thank goodness we only had 4 hours there. I would have rather slept at the airport in a chair!

My wife and I stayed there for 2 nights before departing on a cruise. The hotel is older, but I assume that most are in Florence. It was somewhat difficult to find because neither of us speak Italian. The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and the wall-mounted air conditioner worked. Complimentary breakfast and wi-fi were nice bonuses. The bus stop is about a minute walk from the hotel and it took maybe 15 minutes to get to the central train station in downtown Florence. From there, everything was within walking distance.

We booked online but when we got there they told us that the room had been booked by someone else and we would have to find somewhere else for the second night. We ended up being able to stay the second night, but in a single room and they wanted to charge extra for a smaller room. But I was upset and after half an hour of going back and forth, they ended up letting us stay in the smaller room and not charging more. The hotel room was lovely and spacious. The lobby was being painted at the time, and some of the rooms are under going upgrades. The site says that it is very close to the middle of town, which was not accurate. It was out of town in a residential area and hard to find. The locals told us it was not the safest area. There is a bus that you can catch that is about a block and a half away. It took us about 20 minutes to get into town that way. Breakfast was wonderful and plenty of food. But it does end early at 9:30. All in all it was a good stay and they were as nice as can be expected. It was just extra stress with the room being double booked, that would have been nice to avoid.

Great location, but disappointed they couldn't accomodate our early departure with breakfast.

The hotel located on the walking street, dead center of La Spezia. However, only one street leads you to the hotel. Hotel stafff friendly and very helpful. Our room was very small not appropriate for longer than one night stay which was fine for my wife and I. Located very near good restaurants.Breakfast standard self service.

I would say that the quality of the Franchi was the lowest of all our 3 star experiences. The room was okay size and the shower bigger than most but there was a dingy smell to the room. The sheets were very clean and the toiletries also better than most. However, the walls seemed very thin and we could hear people talking at 3am even if they were speaking quietly. Also, it seemed like the cab driver started our fare at 10 Euros. The hotel should make sure that the taxis don't cheat their customers. The fare came out much higher about 8 Euros than the hotel told us it would. I would only stay here if you are going out of Florence airport early in the morning.

Stay here if you have a very early morning flight--it's about 1/2 mile from the airport. But a taxi will still cost you 17 Euros (!), so keep your rental car until you leave.

I am happy with the hotel, in general. It was a good fresh breakfast, clean bed. Very very friendly stuff. not convenient location, so what....I took taxi, 20 minutes to the city center....Lots to see in Florence, the purpose of this hotel- good breakfast, clean bed and a friendly stuff...

Very basic accomodation, nothing surrounding hotel, possible sketch neighborhood. 20-25 minute drive to downtown Florence and all attractions, but this hotel is fairly convenient to the airport...maybe 10 min drive. Breakfast was also pretty good.

Great hotel - will stay again on our way back

The hotel looks like it's seen better days, but it wasn't expensive and the beds were clean. The receptionist was exceptionally helpful and pleasant too. I was slightly put off by the fact that clean bath towels were left on a stand very very close to the toilet! Surely they can find a more hygienic place?

I chose this hotel because it was the nearest one to the airport. For some reason, I had expected shuttle service (though I realise I was mistaken in this). So the taxi fare for the very short journey was 15 euros each way. In future, therefore, I'd stay in downtown Florence and get the airport bus (4 euros each way) if I were trying to save money. There was no restaurant in the hotel and the nearest one was a short walk away, but was worth the walk.

A PERFECT AIRPORT HOTEL . MOST CONVENIENT FOR THE AIRPORT AND THE TOWN CENTER. NICE STAFF AND CLEAN COMFORTABLE ROOMS. VERY GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY. WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANY ONE. ON THE BUS ROUTE INTO FLORENCE SO VERY WELL PLACED.

Apesar de estar localizado longe do centro (aprox 5 km), tem facilidade do transporte urbano, mas vale pelo atendimento dos funcionários, pois foram muitos prestativos nas informações e solicitaçoes necessárias para nossos passeios. Valeu muito, recomendo.

ottimo hotel a buon mercato a Firenze, a 100 metri c'è la fermata del bus 29-30 o 35 che portano direttamente in centro a Firenze (capolinea alla stazione dei treni) in 15 minuti circa. Colazione a buffet ottima. Personale gentile e disponibile. Camera pulita. Ottimo per giro a Firenze di breve durata senza preoccuparsi della macchina (parcheggio custodito gratis davanti all' Hotel)

Helt OK för övernattning i anslutning till flygplatsen. Bra personal.

Cet hotel où nous avons dormi 3 nuits début Octobre, nous a fait bonne impression. Le personnel est serviable et agréable. Seulement un des employés parlait très bien le français, mais avec l'anglais nous nous sommes bien fait comprendre!

The staff was very nice even though they couldn't understand English very well. They were very helpful. They sell tickets to the bus at the reception. The balcony was large and the room was very clean and tidy. The location was near the Airport and this was the only reason why we chose this hotel for our last night in Italy. We thought that we can walk to the airport the next morning and we did, but it was hard because there were no sidewalks. So we had to run over the streets and watch out for the fast cars. At the hotel, they offered us a ride to the airport at 10 euro price. This is more than what you pay when staying at the center of Florence and taking the airport shuttle. The hotel is old. The night that we stayed there was very windy and the shades next to the windows were making a horrible noice. We had to have earplugs on. The location is far from the centre of Tuscany and the buses go... and sometimes don't. At night, we couldn't catch a bus at the bus stop near Santa Maria Novella, and we had to take a taxi instead. The room had an air conditioning machine turned off and no remote control. I guess you can receive a remote control at the reception? We didn't really need it because the night was cold anyway.

Det er et ok lille hotel tæt på lufthavnen. Gammelt, slidt men pænt holdt. Det er ikke et hyggeligt nabolag, ingen pæn udsigt. Utrolig søde mennesker i receptionen, de hjælper gerne med taxa, finde restaurant i byen ect. Er det bare en overnatning før man skal flyve videre, er det fint. Jeg vil ikke anbefale hotellet hvis man skal være i Firenze flere dage.

mécontente pour le matelas qui est séparé en deux matelas 90 . pour moi une chambre adulte doit avoir un seul matelas pour 2 personnes a l'avenir essayer d y remedier . CAR DANS LA NUIT S'écarte et l'on se retrouve avec une barrre de fer au milieu. Le gérant de l'hotel pourra vous le dire nous lui en avons parlé. sinon rien à redire tres bon hotel . Hotellet er ikke det fedeste på jorden. Men SUPER service, gæstfri og venlige og hjælpsomme. Kan anbefales

The hotel is simple, but wery convinient. Very good value for money. Carefull and helpfull staff. Simple, but tasty breakfast. Furniture isn't new, but comfortable. Batthroom with normal-size shower cabin.

Hotel correct. Environnement tres calme. L'hotel est excentré de la ville mais c'etait tres bien pour nous.
