Very comfortable, quiet room, great service. Right next to city market and carriage rides. Trolley stop on corner. Only issue was that the toiletries were all perfumed and the food and drinks overpriced.

Great property. Great service.

I booked here partly to take advantage of the $25 food coupon. But when I arrived I found out you have to use it on the day you check in only, and they don't serve any breakfast in the restaurant. They offer pastry and coffee on each floor, which is kind of limited, compared to how luxurious this hotel is.

Fantastic place to spend our Valentines night.

One of the nicest surprises was free coffee, juice and pastries put out near the elevator on our floor in the morning!

We got a super great rate from Hotels.com. We had a fantastic experience from the valet entrance to the time we left. When we arrived and they gave us a $25 voucher for food or drinks. We used it after a cold night out. We ordered two hot teas and a shot of Lagavulin whisky before bed. Will always stay at this hotel.

Not only were we close to everything downtown, we felt like we were treated like royalty on the concierge level.

We could not have been more pleased! The rooms were larger than appeared in the photos on the hotel website and the service was impeccable. Our favorite feature was the rooftop bar/pool- so much fun but also laid-back enough that we felt comfortable. The breakfast was very convieniant and the pastries were delicious but we would have loved a little more variety. The location was ideal.

Location was good but loud on a Friday night both inside hotel (other guests) and noise from the street. The hotel staff was wonderful. Pool was nice but was more of a "party" hotel with bachelor/bachelorette parties so wouldn't recommend for families.

The hotel is beautiful and grand. The staff is even better. They gave us great recommendations for visits and restaurants. The pool and exercise room were not over the top, but adequate. Guests should know there is a 20 dollar parking fee each night. More of a lobby would have been nice as well. The entry is just a big bar and restaurant.

This is a wonderful hotel whose staff is not happy because the management doesn't support or listen to them. They are going through the motions, but their is an absence of warmth and hospitality. Charleston is a friendly, gracious city and this kind of atmosphere is an anomaly. The problem starts at the top and has filtered all the way down.

We stayed at the hotel for a long weekend. We were greeted immediately when we pulled up, they took out bags and since our room wasnt ready they took our cell # and called as soon as it was. The room was older, but classy. Very clean and they turned the bed down every night. The rooftop pool and bar are great, service is very friendly. The location is the best in Charleston, right in the heart of the restaurants and a short walk to the major shops. We're already planning our return to this hotel!

The hotel was nice but rooms were lacking a mini-bar. rest of the hotel was pleasant, however the rooftop bar brought a unsavory crowd of partiers on the weekend. Outside the hotel on saturdays night looked like Cancun during spring break. If thats what your looking for this is the hotel for you. If your looking for something more romantic or relaxing I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Also be aware that the hotel parking is 20$/day. They didn't tell us this when we used the valet and they also double charged for a few things

I come to Charleston almost every month for work. I have tried other hotels, and been disappointed or had at least a mediocre stay. The Market Pavilion is where I always come back to. Comfortable rooms, great staff. And the morning coffee is hard to beat.

The location was excellent. The food was even better. The only problem was that the shower drain was not working properly and we had to request a refridgerator but overall we were very happy.

We loved our stay at the Market Pavilion. Everything was great - room, service, food, location, and staff. We especially liked the Pavilion Bar and Pool and had lunch there every day and drinks at night. My only complaint is that I called the day before for early arrival since our flight to Charleston was arriving at 10. The room was not ready when we arrived which certainly is understandable and we did not get in it until after 2:00. The person at the desk stored our bags for us but she didn't seem overly interested in getting us in a room. Other than that everything was perfect.

This is my 4th or 5th stay here. And the staff is great. The rooms comfortable. Definitely my favorite hotel in Charleston.

Beautiful hotel. We visited in early April, non heated pool, my son almost had hypothermia and could not wait to move to a hotel with a heated pool. :) The location is wonderful and the hotel has a nice decor. We had a plumbing problem on our floor that required several days of drying with fans to dry the carpets, this in the same hallway they serve your continental breakfast. This event spoiled our impression of the hotel as it seemed more like a discount hotel to have fans blowing round the clock to dry carpets from a plumbing problem. I'm sure there was no alternative, they had to do it. The hotel staff were professional. I would probably stay somewhere else, give up the pool, pay less for a room, allowing the savings to be spent on other activities.

Stay at The Market Pavillion just don't eat at 225 Market. The food was expensive but tasteless. Try SNOB or High Cotton. Also, it's strange to stay in a hotel that only offers breakfast (other than some stale pastries they lump on your hall by the elevator) through a very expensive room service.

Had another great stay at Market Pavilion with one caveat. We booked through Hotels.com and received the advertised $25 coupon to use in the bar -- which we have done before & enjoy very much -- as well as a coupon for lunch on Sunday in the restaurant downstairs. The coupon specifically said the restaurant was open until 3. So at 2:30 on the dot, we went downstairs to have the meal we had been planning, only to be told that the restaurant closes at 2:30. We explained our plan and referred both the hostess and the front desk person to the coupon in our hand. We asked if we could possibly use the coupon at one of the bars, since this was the hotel's mistake -- and they refused. Now, this obviously isn't a big deal, and we can afford to eat wherever -- but for me, it's just the principal of the thing. We had made plans around the information we were given by the hotel -- the information was erroneous -- it was the hotel's fault -- and they should have absorbed their mistake and allowed us to use the lovely coupon in one of their other facilities. So, while I do love staying at the Market Pavilion and it is our hotel of choice in Charleston, this little act of disrespect and bad business will make me hesitant to book the hotel again. We'll probably go back to staying at Planer's Inn.

My husband and I stayed here for a romantic weekend. It was not at all what we expected. We were given the keys to our room, only to find out housekeeping was still in there. Then, when we finally were able to get into our room, we had to call the front desk 3 times until our bags were finally placed in our room. Our view was of a parking lot. The television did not work properly. I notified the front desk of our issues, and they just said they were sorry. I would expect more of a hotel that is apparently rated top notch.

This was the first time I stayed at the Market Pavilion Hotel. I was amazed at how modern it was while keeping the traditional south in the design. It was by far my favorite hotel in Charleston! Be sure to check out the rooftop pool and bar!

The Market Pavillon is a fine hotel with a well-trained staff that are eager to assist you in having a great time in Charleston. The rooms are large and very comfortable. The feel of a concierge floor on every floor is very nice. The rooftop bar is fun and comfortable in both winter and summer. We would definitely enjoy staying there again.

Fantastic location, fabulous service, great place to stay.

Enjoyed stay and hotel is excellent, but check in was very difficult. Did not have proper rate. Even though, already booked and paid for thru Hotels.com at check out the same individual insisted that payment was not made. Had to clear the matter up (double payment) with their accounting dept upon return home.

This is a very nice hotel and well maintained. I believe it is a bit pricey for the Amenities...The pool top patio and bar has a beautiful view but drinks are very watered down and extremely expensive. Would prefer if the restaurant in the lobby served breakfast as the "free" breakfast is just pastries and fruit. Overall it's a nice hotel but will probably try one of the other high end hotels in the area next time.
