Upon arrival to Kamandalu, you will be warmly greeted by the staff there. The landscape is made to seem like those cascading padi rice fields around the Ubud area. It's really quite a gorgeous sight! The hotel activities club will be able to set you up for white river rafting as well as bike rides around the area. They are really good. The hotel also provides shuttle bus services to Ubud centre where you can visit the market, taste some cripsy duck and watch the tradition dances. The downside of the hotel is really it's location and also the expensive food and drinks. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay there.

This hotel, I must say, was absolutely perfect. I arrived, and even though it started to rain, I sat on my little green grass porch and enjoyed the peace and view. At night you can hear crickets and frogs and it is lovely... A great hotel if you're doing any soul searching or simply need to get away from the hustle and bustle of reality. The food is average, so go out and eat at Ubud City Center, they have great restaurants there, but enjoy the peace of Kamandalu :) Spa is nice but not mind blowing.

Great hotel, great service... Very far from the airport and very quiet area. If you want to be near action, go to Jimbaran / Seminyak area. The hotel is really good and staff even better. Very friendly and helpful. The hotel needs a bit updating and maintenance, but the rooms were good. Grounds need a bit of work. We booked a Garden villa and had no complaints. The hotel offers 2 free drinks in the afternoon and 2 free cocktails in the evening, which were great. Food was awesome too. Except the small maintenance updates to the hotel, can not complain.

my parnter and i absolutley love this resort and will definitly use again on our next stay in bali the service the food and the friendliness made the stay so much more enjoyable, if you do decide to go keep an eye out for a staff member arther hes a champ!! and the man on cocktails megan and pete

Gorgeous property and wonderful staff. The buildings and grounds feel truly exotic, and the overall ambiance fosters tranquility. Our room was beautiful and spacious, so large in fact that it cries out for a larger screen television and additional, softer easy chairs, but we aren't really complaining. The staff was universally great -- very friendly and attentive. We used the complimentary shuttle to Ubud center seveal times, and found it to be very convenient. Our only disappointment was with the restaurant food. which in our experience was mediocre and relatively expensive for the area. We don't mean to present a negative review; we absolutely loved Kamandalu. Our travels have been extensive, but we were very impressed by this hotel and would not hesitate to recommend it.

The hotel is pleasant but i dated: it has a very small swimming pool and normally all the deck chairs were taken. The staff is very helpful and kind, but the property needs a make over to compete with other up market resorts.

we had a pool villa in the resort which had recently been refurbished which was spotless and in perfect working order with views into the valley in which we were nestled....the resort though was a little tired and dated and the grounds were restricted by building works. common complaints are the food prices charged in the restaurants ,,but for (aus)$2-3 you can catch a cab into ubud for a more reasonable $3-8 meal...i just wish these hotels would learn that if they charged half the price for their meals their restaurants would be full,instead of being empty...

People were so friendly and this hotel is simply one of the most beautfil unique hotels I have stayed in....the price is so affordable for the quality of the hotel. Just a few minutes from Ubud city center

Kamandalu is probably the best Resort and Spa in Ubud, Bali. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are fantastic and the servce y excellent. The hotel is located 5 kilometers away from the center of Ubud. But it is very cheap to hire a taxi and the hotel has free transportation a few times every day. The Spa is great and the massage is really good after a long day sightseeing I highly recomend this hotel for its beauty and comfort.

This resort was all we had hoped for and more. We much preferred it to the crowded beaches and thronging tourist areas of Bali. This place was tranquil, serene, beautiful, and close to all the things we wanted to do. We took a wonderful bike ride, rode and interacted with the elephants, fed monkeys, shopped, swam in the lovely pool under the moon and stars to relax at night, and most fun of all--went white-water rafting on a jungle river. The hotel staff helped to arrange all these things. They were always attentive to our needs. The complimentary breakfast buffet changed every day and was always delicious. I loved the fact that we had our own garden villa complete with thatched roof, outdoor shower, sunken bathtub, mosquito-netted beds, etc. I would come back to the Kamandalu in a heartbeat!

Great base in Ubud gives you insight into traditional life but only 7 mins by car to town center. Serene resort and it's amazing to stay here after living in bustling HK. Beautiful and superb landscaped grounds. If you love photography you'll really enjoy this stay. Lots of activities can be arranged by concierge - example: walking tour through terraced rice paddy area; picnic out in breathtaking locations. Or go for a walk around the complex. Great pool and pool bar. Restaurant great option for staying in if you don't want to go to town. Villa style living in the Garden Villa included our own day-bed outside; outdoor shower; beautiful villa with traditional roof (you have to see it) and modern ammenities but not over the top. You can open all the doors in the Villa and enjoy the views, garden, air, or just leave them closed with the aircon on and enjoy your villa. The staff are exceptionally friendly. Spa very enjoyable and massage very good. Would definitely go back and do more exploring from this place as a base.

우리의 인사동 같이 고즈넉한 분위기인 발리의 우붓에서의 하루밤이 무척 기대되었었는데 만족스러운 하루밤을 보냈습니다. 풀 빌라에 두개의 건물이 하나의 울타리안에 있어 4명의 한가족이 있기에 너무 편하고 럭셔리 하였습니다.

Se situant à environ 1h30 mn de l'aéroport international cet hotel est magnifiquement positionner car il se trouve pratiquement au centre de Bali . C'est un hotel magnifique malgré ses 18ans et il idealement placé puiqu'il est en dehors de la capitale. Le seul point ou nous pourrions dire qu'il peut être amélioré c'est la carte des menues qui sont proposés. En effet ils ne cherchent pas à faire des buffets froids ou barbecue et il a fallu une remarque pour que le surlendemain ils nous fassent un superbe repas . Petit déjeuner super sympa

the hotel itself is excellent and can't be faulted for either the design or the service. The only slight reservation we had was the distance from the hotel to Ubud itself and although there was a free shuttle service, this does not start until 10 am and finishes at 9 pm. However, getting a taxi to and from is not difficult nor to expensive (we paid €2 one way for example).

Zeer aardig/vriendelijk personeel. shuttle naar Ubut gaat op onvriendelijke tijden. als het hotel een taxi regelt kost het 50.000 ir op straat 25.000 ir.( Is nog geen 2 €). WIFI ontvangst zwak tot zeer zwak. in de loby kan men ook gebruik maken van internet wat een wat betere verbinding heeft.
